This is a hidden gem and definitely recommend stopping by to check out the clothing including a Great kids section! Vintage finds are reasonably priced and excellent selection. Mask required and the can sanitize carts before using. Very clean and well kept store.

    The displays were impeccable.

Really though, they have the cutest stuff here, clothing, furniture, plants, country gifts and household goods and man oh man, they are wicked cheap compared to Philly thrift prices.

Out of curiosity, I tested the inventory system by adding 100,000 knives and then 200,000 knives to my cart. The website actually allowed me to proceed to checkout with 300,000 knives, despite the fact that only 1,776 of these knives were ever produced. At that point, I decided to call the store the following day to verify that the business was legitimate and that the item was actually in stock. I spoke with the owner, Dave, about purchasing two Victorinox 250 knives and was told there was a limit of one per customer. I explained that I needed two and was advised to place the order online instead. When I pointed out that the knife retails for around $125 everywhere else, while their website listed it for $175, I was essentially told to take it or leave it. I was informed that they had three in stock and that I could purchase one for $175 plus $12 shipping, bringing the total to $187 for a knife that normally sells for about $125 with free shipping. The website itself continued to be problematic. It would not allow me to register an account, forcing me to check out as a guest. When I finally managed to place the order, the system allowed me to purchase two knives, which I needed as Father's Day gifts. Despite paying nearly $100 above retail for the two knives, I completed the purchase. Three days later, instead of receiving my order, I received an email demanding additional verification. I was asked to provide either a bank statement or my driver's license, along with additional credit card verification information, before my order would be processed. I was expected to send this sensitive personal information by email. Despite my concerns, I provided a bank statement with all sensitive information redacted and again explained that I needed two knives. When I followed up with a phone call on Monday, I was told that two of the knives had already been sold and that only one remained. I was then informed that because I had not provided my driver's license, my order would be canceled. His exact response was: "You're not getting any. I'm canceling your order." He then hung up on me. From Thursday through Monday, I got my order canceled after being asked to provide sensitive personal information. If you want to be asked for highly sensitive personal and financial information, enough to have your identity stolen or get brank fraud going since all of your info out in open and have your order canceled, Dave with his Country Knife store has you covered. I know I am not coming back and WILL make sure everyone knows about this business practices!

Her warm and friendly smile welcomed me to the Shoppe at AK Interiors. The colorful flowers adorning the window out front made an elegant entrance, and the design continued throughout with classic furnishings inside. Unique items kept catching my eye as I perused the store, but one item in particular begged for my attention: a little black and white dog figurine sitting in front of the window. His name is "Bergere," after the chair, and he has become a beloved mascot in the store. Alison has been in the design business for most of her life. In fact, growing up in her parents' store in Pennsylvania, McIndoe's, is where her passion for design began. With a degree in Interior Design and lots of experience working in the design and building industry, Alison opened AK Interiors in 1996, working from her home. At the time, she was a single mom and it allowed her to be easily available. A little more than a year ago, she decided it was time to venture out and open a boutique home furnishings shoppe in Lancaster. The Shoppe at AK Interiors is staffed by owner Alison and three other employees. The 1,100-square-foot space includes offices for the design team and a room for meeting clients. AK Interiors works with all different types of customers: residential, commercial and renovations. One service that AK Interiors offers is "Room in a Day." Basically, they use clients' existing furnishings and accessories, sometimes borrowing from other rooms, and then Alison and staff design their clients' space. While I was looking around The Shoppe, I noticed there was long hallway filled with artwork; I was intrigued so I asked about it. It turns out that The Shoppe participates in Lancaster's First Fridays where they feature local artists' works, music, drinks and nibbles. The Shoppe at AK Interiors is a great place to get ideas, purchase items for gifts, and furnish your home or business. As for Bergere the dog, if anyone is interested, he is for sale.
