We came out of town, found this gem in downtown area. It was modern chic and great! The food, drinks, staff, interior etc!

It's been a long time since I came here. The uniforms have changed and the ordering process might have as well. Walk in order pay and have a seat they bring your food to you. When they brought my food and the rest of my party no one followed up with if we need anything else. I had to ask for silver wear and get up for salt and pepper. And if I needed anything else. I'm getting up to get the staff attention. One person finally came to the table to ask if we needed anything and I was already finished with my food. That gives you an idea of how long before anyone coming to our table. By the way my table was literally 6 feet from the counter where the staff stayed huddled deep in conversation with each other. (I now know all the gossip of the staff). Was it busy you ask? Nope. So sad because the food is delicious front staff are ruining it for the awesome job the kitchen is doing. read more

I loved loved loved this place. The vibe is nice and has some charm to it while still being modern and clean. You could dress up or dress down. The service was really good even though it's a pay at the front kind of place. THE FOOD IS AMAZZZING! My friend had a breakfast burrito that was really good. I had the chicken and waffles which is one of my favorite meals to have and I've been on a hunt to find the best ones and this is definitely my favorite right now. I wish they had this place closer to where I live! The chicken was crunchy yet moist and the waffle was flavorful and thankfully not dry at all. The spicy maple syrup and the butter were both amazing and add to the depth of the flavors providing some spice and savory sweetness to the dish. 11/10 read more

Very disappointed with the customer service at Morning Glory. From the moment we walked in, we felt rushed. We barely had a chance to look over the menu before we were pressured to place our order. After our food and drinks came out, no one checked on us even once to see if we needed anything. The employees kept making eye contact with us but continued talking among themselves instead of helping customers. The most disappointing part was the smoothie. It tasted expired, and when we politely asked if we could switch it out, we were simply told no without any effort to help or offer another solution. Overall, the service was unwelcoming, inattentive, and left us with a poor experience. I hope they improve their customer service and treat future customers with more care and respect. read more

I came down here because one of my family members suggested it, and walking in it was cute, very nicely decorated the place looks clean, you can tell the building is very old but that just gives it an extra point in ambiance. When we came to front counter and were thinking about what to get one of the waiters was so nice and he let us take our time but not even a minute later another waiter comes and says that we should go sit down and look at the menu and then come and order. Although it wasn't done in a rude way it did seem like they just didn't want us up there thinking and no one was behind us trying to order. We ordered and waited for our food which came very quickly. The food was nicely presented and it was good but it wasn't amazingly good. Overall would come again if someone wanted too but not on my own accord. read more

The revitalization of downtown Brownsville is going well, especially with places like Morning Glory! I thought I was back in San Antonio when I stepped in. The decor was so cute, a nice mix between historic feeling and modern, and very spacious with lots of natural light. Service is "order at the counter" - so fast casual. Menus are up on screens and they have some classics like omelettes and eggs benny, and waffles, and more things for breakfast, brunch, and lunch. Their pastry case also had stuff like chocolate croissants. (My sister said it was the best chocolate croissant she ever had!) Service was good, one of the employees complimented my dad's Star Wars shirt. Friendly folks. My eggs Benedict had salmon added for about an extra $3. The capers made the dish a smidge too salty, but if I ate a bite with a heaping pile of the arugula salad, it all balanced out. I ate the whole thing, haha, so that tells you I really had no problems with the dish. Oh, and the poached eggs? They looked PERFECT. Perfectly round, bouncy, and runny. 10/10 for the chef. My iced caramel latte with oat milk was also so good, I finished it in record time. Dad also loved his coffee, he said it was nice and strong. Cute restaurant but the food is not tasty. The salsas need more flavor and the chicken& waffles should not have red pepper flakes. This should be clear especially ordering for kids. Ordering from a screen menu is not the same as having a paper menu. When asked to change a plate because it wasn't as described, they refused and blamed the customer. Food comes out fast but cold. Coffee is good. Tip is prayed even before you get serviced!!!!! read more

Best coffee in the downtown area. My parents loved the food, they have vegan alternatives/items like the avocado toast and the bean dip (no cheese) that my dad loved. Will literally come here more often because my parents don't want to eat anywhere else. Loved it. read more

We'd been wanting to try this place for a while now and finally got the chance to. We were disappointed. The first thing we didn't like was that it is an order at the counter type restaurant. I don't always mind this, but I do mind this for a restaurant that looks this cute and is brunch focused. The restaurant itself, however, is very cute. When we walked in, we were told which table we could sit at, and we were then pointed to the counter where we could order. When we got to the counter, the gentleman handed us a paper with a QR code for the menu, and he told us we could sit down and then come back when we were ready to order. So, that's what we did. My boyfriend went to order for us as I stayed at the table. The ordering process took a while, as there was a long line. It was a little hectic, to say the least. And there was a line nearly the entire time we were there. We both ordered a sunrise mimosa, and they were promptly brought out to us. They photograph better than they tasted. The drinks were all juice and had hardy any champagne. We then got our food. The presentation was very nice. I ordered the chilaquiles verdes and my boyfriend ordered the meat lovers omelette with a pancake on the side. I totally forgot to take a photo of the pancake. The chilaquiles were ok. The verde sauce was a little too limey for my taste. They came with a side of refried black beans, which were the star of the show. My boyfriend's omelette was very tasty. He did not like the potatoes it came with and thought they were too dry. The pancake came with cinnamon butter (think Texas Roadhouse) and syrup. The cinnamon butter made the pancake good. Otherwise, it's just a pancake. Overall, we decided we would not be back. It is just not worth the price and the awkward ordering process. read more

Food was brought to the table individually with several minutes between plates. They were welcoming and our food was prepared as expected. There can be a longer wait time for some items on the menu (Chicken and Waffles). Parking can be a bit inconvenient but walking is not far off. The place has a nice trendy atmosphere with large chandeliers and elegant decorations. It appears to be popular. The coffee is awesome, it has a good bold taste. My wife and I ordered the chilaquiles with pork carnitas. The owner and staff really pay attention to detail on every level and it shows. We popped in here for brunch yesterday and every part of our meal was satisfying and delicious: the tropical mimosa, the coffee, and the salmon Benedicts we both ordered. The service was efficient and professional, yet warm and friendly. All that being said, I think my favorite part of this restaurant is the decor. The interior space is modern but keeps many elements of the original building, including the retro tiling work on the floor, exposed brick on the wall, and the antique ceiling work above. I must give credit to the owners for trying to preserve some of the remnants of the historic building in which they reside. read more
