Recently "In Bloom" moved in. They used to be a few doors down from the Post Office, but the new location is much better. Bigger, brighter. I always bought from them on Valentine's Day in the past, and continued the tradition this year in the new space. Natasha was great and made exactly what I wanted come to life. They were open late days before, and on Valentine's Day. The fact that this being local, and what I think is owned by women, makes me realize I should stop by more than once or twice a year.

They had premade bouquets for $30-35, but I asked them if they could make one with pink and white roses and the lady yes for $40. Midway I asked to add some lily's, they added a total of 4 lily's and at the end she says the total will be $75! And then on top of that once I pay I get my receipt back and they charged me $82!!! EIGHTY-TWO DOLLARS!!! So 3 lily's were worth $35, and yet she didn't tell me this ahead of time. Very disappointing that she would overcharge me. I told my fiancé who is from this area who was waiting in the car and he went back in the store to talk to her and she said "well she should've known", meaning that because I'm not from there I should've known she would've overcharged me. I had to get a large number of single, wrapped, roses for a ceremony that I was helping to…read moreorganize. This small local shop in Union City is nestled away on the busy Bergenline Ave. They filled the order in a timely manner, and charged $2 each, which seems to be the standard rate for most florists in the area. I roses were wrapped a little sloppy, with some of them having their leaves wrapped into the cellophane, the cellophane being ripped or jagged looking, etc. They still looked nice, but I have seen more careful jobs at other florists. Also, other florists that I have used have put them in a nice box when I pick them up, but "Petal of Love" just had them sitting in water in their cooler, and when I came in to get them, put them into a plastic trash bag. That was a little disappointing. Everything was fine, but there are other florists in the neighborhood that pay more attention to detail and give you a nicer overall experience.
