    Blackberry foam chai

I'm not a big coffee drinker (however my coffee friend do rave about this place!). However - this blackberry foam chai is SOOOO GOOD! Everybody go try it - I love it. They do this thing where you try to guess the coffee sleeve color to get 10% off which is so fun too!!

Came here while visiting Baltimore and it was genuinely one of the best coffee shop experiences I've had in a while! I walked over with my friend, who lives nearby, and we brought my dog along. Morning Mugs made all of us feel right at home. Dogs are totally welcome on the patio, and there's even a pup cup station inside so your furry friends can indulge too. Mine was thrilled. Inside, the vibe is super inviting. It's the kind of café that clearly cares about regulars and newcomers alike. The barista recommended their famous Banana Bread Latte, and I had to try it. WOW a true 10/10! The banana flavor is real, not artificial, and it pairs perfectly with espresso. I also ordered the Breakfast Sandwich, which was served on a flaky, buttery croissant, layered with sausage, fluffy scrambled eggs, and sharp cheddar. Pro tip: order a side of their lime crema for dipping ... it was honestly incredible and tied all the flavors together. I loved it so much that I came back the next morning before heading back to Virginia Beach (couldn't resist). This time, I tried the Blueberry Cookie Butter Latte .... absolutely amazing. It's creamy, subtly sweet, and a fun, unique twist I haven't seen anywhere else. Another huge plus: the owner is extremely friendly. On my first visit, he even brought down the big bear mascot so my friend's kid could give it a hug, which totally made the morning. This is the kind of neighborhood spot you wish you had at home: super welcoming, dog-friendly, and clearly passionate about great drinks and community. Highly recommend a visit, whether you're local or just passing through!

What a super cute local coffee shop in fed hill. It's in the cut in the middle of a neighborhood, so if you don't know it's there you'd never stumble on it. I had the banana bread latte & it was good. I like the fact that they have different latte options like blueberry cobbler & a maple latte plus matcha & chai as well. The person that took my order was very helpful and pleasant. The ambiance was bright and welcoming. There was seating inside and outside as well. I would highly recommend this shop.

Before I entered I noticed the guy in one of the yelp pictures for this place sitting outside after filming. I said wait I saw you on a picture with the teddy bear. He was so upbeat, friendly and cool. Entered and was warm and friendly greeted and assisted with selecting my order. I ordered a dirty pumpkin creme chai and a blueberry banana nut muffin. I was NOT disappointed with my order and loved the moist struedl muffin with both of my favorite flavors together. The chai was at its best. After finishing my order I was asked by the staff and bear guy lol how was my first with them. I happily informed that I loved my selection and will be back. Bear guy is utterly upbeat, personable and friendly. And with pleasure he thanked me and introduced himself as TYLER. So Tyler the dude with the bear in the picture thank you for the goodness in my selection and the atmosphere. Oh I was given a chance to play figure out the color. I chose orange but it was green. And I still got 10% off coupon for my next visit. I sat and devoured my muffin comfortably inside. There are seating inside or out. I will come again.

I don't know how I haven't written a review on this place and it's one of my favorites to go to in Baltimore! I've been to this place a few times for their coffee. My favorite is definitely the banana bread latte. I've also tried the Espresso Martini Shaken Latte that they had during dry January! I was also a big fan of that one. I've also had their breakfast burrito which was also good. The staff is so kind and I love the little "guess the color" game they play when you pay for your drink. If you guess the correct color of the coffee sleeve you get % off your next order!

Stopped by and grabbed a chair tea latte. Yummy, perfect amount of flavor! I was warmly greeted and listened to at the register. I also lucked out with time of the day, so quick service. Cool vibe, think backyard garage.

There's something special about neighborhood coffee shops, they keep the pulse of the community beating and everyone connected. This a.m., I popped into Morning Mugs for a quick bite for a virtual meeting. Morning Mugs is tucked in the residential area of Federal Hill and the opening is a garage door. The people were friendly and the service was customer-centric. I enjoyed the fact that customers can guess a color with their order and if you're right, you can get a percentage off of your next one. I got a refresher and croissant sandwich that were both delicious. I enjoyed my experience and will definitely be back. Fun fact, there are a few business connected to Morning Mugs from the interior.

Morning Mugs Coffee has been on my list for a while and I'm so glad I tried it. Parking was available on the street and the cafe is so cute and inviting. It was the perfect way to start my morning. The staff were super nice. Sadly, they were out of brown sugar syrup so I opted for vanilla instead. The workers have you guess a color for your coffee holder as a fun, engaging game. I sadly did not guess the right color, which only means I'll have to go back! The coffee was extremely smooth and not too sweet. The muffins and breakfast sandwiches looked divine and I can't wait to try them one day. This coffee shop is so conveniently located, making it perfect to even enjoy a cup on a walk! While it was a little expensive for a latte, the 16oz size felt perfect and had the perfect ratio of coffee and ice.

Amazing coffee place, I love the settings and the energy the vibe gives. I went here to do some homework and it was such a great vibes with everyone just focusing on their own task. The workers was super great, they let you play a little game of guess what coffee holder colors they will give you, and if you get it right you get a 10% off coupons for the next visit (first time customers automatically get one regardless). The coffee itself was really easy to drink, I think their menu options are very wide and you can choose whatever you are feeling like. I just got one of their best seller and called it a day. Overall would visit again!

Finally I was able to visit Morning Mugs. I live close by but I drove since I came from work. I ordered the black bean wrap and black coffee. I really enjoyed the black bean wrap. It was so good and filling that I wasn't hungry at lunchtime. The coffee was good and the ambiance was cute. There were some people sitting in the coffee shop working or reading. I wished I had time to drink my coffee and read but I had to go back to work. The interesting thing about this coffee shop was I had to guess the color. I didn't guess the correct color but the guy behind the counter gave me a card anyway since it was my first time visiting.

Love love love! As a huge matcha girlie, I genuinely cannot get enough of this place! The open concept is everything, especially with the nice weather coming up, it just hits different. They have plenty of outlets, and the building has a unisex bathroom with 3 stalls (located our the doors and all the way down the hallway) which is always a plus. They also give out free water, which I really appreciate, especially when you're out walking and just need a little sip without buying a whole drink. The line can get pretty long, so if you're not feeling the wait, just place a mobile order! But honestly, waiting has its perks, when you order, you get to guess the color of your drink sleeve, and if you guess right, you get 10% off your next order. It's such a cute concept and just adds to the whole experience. I haven't tried the food yet so I really can't speak on that, but the drinks are SO good. I've been getting the blueberry matcha with oat milk and I'm obsessed, the blueberry flavor is really subtle and actually tastes like real fruit, not some random syrup you'd find on TJ Maxx or Amazon. Today I tried the banana bread matcha with oat milk and I can definitely see why it's a favorite. I don't drink coffee so I honestly have no idea about those, but if the matcha is anything to go by, I'm sure they're great. Stop by if you have a chance, you won't regret i!

I came here over the weekend for some coffee with my friend. The staff we interacted with were all quite friendly. I ordered a Lavender Iced Chai and my friend got a Latte. They accidentally made two lattes and also gave us the 2nd one which was nice. The coffee wasn't too strong but tasted pretty good. I really enjoyed my chai. It had a light lavender flavor and the chai wasn't too sweet. They have a guess the sleeve color game which was fun to try to guess the color. I guessed wrong but my friend got it right so we got a 10% discount card for the next visit. A cute neighborhood coffee shop I'd come back to!

The banana bread latte is excellent. Will definitely try more latte's. Servers were very friendly. Really cute decor and nicely decorated for Christmas time. Recently moved nearby and will be coming back many, many times.

Short answer: absolutely worth it!Long answer: I'm already thinking about my next excuse to come back. Walking in, the space immediately delivers. The aesthetic is awesome-- the kind of intentional, beautifully designed interior that feels warm and curated rather than staged. It's trendy without being cold, and the Inner Harbor location makes it that much more special. I know there is a huge renovation planned "down the harbor" , this Matriarch is ALREADY READY! You get all the energy of the waterfront with a cozy, tucked-in feel once you're inside. Now, the coffee. I got a latte that was genuinely one of the better cups I've had in a long time -- smooth, rich, perfectly pulled. I also had a Chai and paired it with a cherry & cheese danish that was fresh and delicious, the ideal complement to the drink. I asked for it heated and it was hot all the way through. Hate it when I get it and it is cold in the middle...the barista understood the assignment and got us right! Everything felt thoughtful, like someone in that kitchen actually cares about what they're putting out -- because they do. Speaking of which -- I had the pleasure of meeting the owner, and it all made sense. Warm, passionate, and clearly proud of what they've built. Shirts, cups, napkins, and merch that says "I love my Matriarch" is a reminder of the "Why" behind this spot I think. That kind of energy flows through the entire space and staff. You feel it the moment you walk in. The Matriarch isn't just a coffee shop. It's a destination. If you're in Baltimore, this is a must. If you're outside the city -- make the drive. Trust me. See you soon, Matriarch!

We had the matcha latte, and a menu special: solar eclipse which was chai with expresso macadamia nut milk and lavender syrup. Matcha was good flavor and quality. The drink special I pass, I gave it a fair try but it didn't taste good- there was a very acidic taste at the end. My first time in was after calling to see if they had gift cards, went without an answer . So I went there and nope. Waisted my time going there.

I went on a Saturday morning around 9:45 and waited about 25 minutes for a table for 2. The menu is EXTENSIVE and they have an option for pretty much anything you're in the mood for! I got the Mexican egg scramble and the pumpkin pancakes to share. The prices might seem slightly on the higher side for a breakfast place, but once you get your food you'll understand why. The portions are generous and the food is delicious! I ended up taking half of the food home and I genuinely looked forward to eating it as leftovers - which fed me for multiple meals. 12/10 would recommend the pumpkin pancakes no matter what season it is. They come with white chocolate chips, fruit, and a caramel drizzle on top. The French toast also looked incredible so I'll be sure to order that the next time I go! I

It's 9:30am, I'm not trying to scream over 90s pop music to have a conversation with someone two feet away from me. The menu was a QR code on a dirty, laminated card stuck to the table. My friend and I each ordered an entree plus a short stack to share. Neither of our egg dishes came with toast so we ordered that on the side. All they offer is white, English muffin or biscuit. I ordered the white toast and it is the 2" thick, low quality, tasteless white bread they use for their French toast. Whatever. The utensils are one step above plastic - they are light-weight, cheap, rough edged crap you might imagine in a prison. Whatever. The plastic containers of half and half were already on the table, sitting there at room temp. Again, whatever. The waitress dropped off the bill, said to use the QR code to pay unless we were using cash, then took off. If we wanted to split the bill, I guessed we would need to wait for her to come back around. So, I offered to pay the astoundingly high bill. I open the QR link and the first things that popped are the tip options with 20% pre-selected. All told the bill was $97 for two people. When I got home I glanced at the itemized bill: *They charged us $16 for two cups of coffee with one refill each. *a 20 % tip was already included! Apparently, they add 20% onto checks over $50. Of course it's over $50 when you charge $16 for mugs of coffee, and $$ for sides of crappy white toast. Make no mistake, this is my fault for paying with the QR code and not combing through the itemized bill first. I guess I'm not used to going to neighborhood joints expecting to get fleeced. My suggestion: go around the corner to Spoons Cafe on Cross St: high quality food and you won't feel robbed blind when you look at the bill.
