Same old dealership games...I thought I was in a 1972 throwback. They high-ended the book price on their pre-owned vehicle and low-ended mine. They kidnapped my vehicle into their shop for a half-hour assessment and tried playing it down another $2k for a mysterious OBD readout that didn't trip a dash light -AND- even if there was a problem, they ignored that my vehicle is still under all factory warranties. THEN came the stereotypical used car dealer added charges and fees. All the while, I never even saw the vehicle i was interested in trading up to buy. The only thing that wasn't circa 1972 was the clothes. Every associate I saw walking around was dressed like a slob. Not a button down shirt in the place, much less a suit or tie or even a pair of dress slacks. So yeah, if you want to get played with the same racket they worked 50 years ago, swing on by Morrie's. What am embarrassment. This kind of place is the reason people don't trust used car salesmen. read more

I was sold a 2021 Subaru Forrester at the Forest Lake location under the pretext that they knew nothing about the condition of this vehicle prior to it other than what CarFax information they had . They use CarFax as a shield to hide behind the fact that the car may or may not have been in a wreck. Upon getting the car home my husband found FIVE auto sources that reported the car had been in a WRECK!!! Also upon our drive home we found out we needed a new car battery. After driving for less than weekend we found out ,as new Subaru owners , the auto start stop function was not working. When they did auto body work to vehicle they didn't hook up the wiring harness correctly and the hood was not aligned. Thankfully Forrest Lake sent us to their Subaru dealership and we were able to get wiring harness fixed,but, hood is still maligned and paint job has issues. Thank goodness for the Morries promise 30 warranty we were able to get reimbursed for a battery. Recently we were informed by a mechanic that our engine mounts need to be replaced. read more

A few years back I purchased a used 2011 Ford Ranger from their Brooklyn Park store. At the time there were some rough family events going on and I didn't really go over the truck as well as I should have. The truck looked and ran good. It even had a nice bed liner. I went in trusting a larger company to be honest and forthright. Although their staff was a bit aggressive which I was not in a good place to deal with at the time. Long story short. Shortly after I purchased it and moved out state I noticed rust slowly showing through what I thought was a well maintained paint job. I looked under the car and saw a nightmare! At this time I moved out of state but also assumed it's a buyer beware. Never mind trust, honor and their motto at the time "Buy Happy". Gradually more and more rust appeared. I was able to hold my anger in check and accept that as my own haste in purchasing at the time. (the backup lights also didn't work. I had that fixed at a different place.) None of these issued appeared on the "Technicians Comments" form. I am now selling the truck. When I removed the bed liner to clean everything nicely i saw several areas where rust had created some miserable holes in the bed. I've lived in the northern midwest for several decades and know how long it takes rust to reach that point. It was discovering this that compelled me to lash out a bit. (Though the truck still runs very well) There is no way I can sell this truck without being forthright regarding the rust issues. There is no way Morrie's could have inspected this truck to their high Technicians standards and not discovered these issues. It's been about 7 years now and had I not discovered the holes in the bed I could have lived with it as I have. I've contacted them, not expecting anything really other than an acknowledgement that they really did drop the ball on this one. Someone in the company did just fine keeping a customer in the dark. Perhaps I'll hear back. The lessons learned here? 1. Never make a big purchase when there is a family crisis.... and 2. (this is a general statement) Only trust the seller as far as you can throw him. read more

We couldn't be more pleased with our experience at Morries Ford. I was arranging the purchase of a new Ford Expedition Platinum for my father from out of state, so all of our negotiations had to be done over the phone. I was lucky enough to connect with Rick when I called, and right from the start, I knew we were in good hands. When my father arrived, he was promptly guided to finance to sign the documents, and shortly after, he was behind the wheel of his new vehicle with Rick giving him a thorough walkthrough. My father later told me that it was the fastest and smoothest car purchase he's ever experienced. I would buy another vehicle from Morries in a heartbeat. Is there a no star? Clients Vehicle was stolen because someone busted their key lock and they refuse to take any responsibility for my vehicle with their Insurance garage keeper coverage. Dropped off car on a Sunday and nothing on Monday finally called them to check status Tuesday 4 hours later. The cops called me back, were they ever gonna let me know they didn't have it? Taking no responsibility with their insurance not sure if this is legal pursuing it with an attorney. read more

Just spent $61,000 on a truck they said all was good. No the blind spot sensor were disconnected I paid 120 ti get that fixed 2 days after getting the truck also the tiyers are all choped up from the alignment being off so they said they would replace the tiyers but not the alignment on a truck I have had for 2 days not sure y I would pay for anything they missed when thay did the inspection before putting out for sale but I can tell I will never go there again so a 100 alignment just cost them any future business from me for service or getting anthort car my advice go elsewhere for a car read more

I bought a new Nissan Pathfinder in 2013 with the Morrie's Lifetime Powertrain Warranty. I went to trade my vehicle in on a new Pathfinder and was told there was a code coming from the vehicles computer saying the transmission was slipping and needing repairs or replacement. I took the vehicle to a Nissan dealer to look into the problem and they verified the transmission needed replacement at an estimated cost of $7000. I took all my maintenance records to the dealer so they could apply for the lifetime warranty coverage I was supposed to have and they submitted a stack of maintenance receipts over an inch thick. Surprise , surprise - the warranty company found that I was missing 3 receipts for air filters and 1 receipt for a brake fluid change and because of that they could not cover the transmission repair. Imagine the shock to learn that replacing ai filters myself at $10 instead of paying a dealer $30 or more would void a warranty for transmission work. All Morries dealerships are continuing to to offer this SCAM warranty and I would advise anyone dealing with Morries to be aware that this "BUY HAPPY" warranty is a complete and TOTAL SCAM. read more

We stopped in without an appointment and got in right away for oil change and tire rotation. It is common that the checks they perform come up with something and we got a caution on the battery. It could have waited, but there was a deal on their best battery. It was installed and everything was good. Now the Flex is ready for winter. The customer lounge is nice but we were told that they will be expanding and the service department intake will be much improved-including a new lounge. read more

Disappointing. That's how I would describe my last encounter with a Morrie's Dealership. After having previously purchasing two vehicles from Morrie's (Mazda in Minnetonka) I was expecting the same kind of service. But to be price haggled to death only to get within $160 of a deal and then told I would have to accept it or no deal is disappointing. With 3 mid teenage kids and family friends in the same situation it is unfortunate that Morrie's will not longer be on my list of places to recommend visiting when buying a car. I sincerely hope the $160 was worth it. read more

Found an Outback I wanted at the Brooklyn Park Subaru location. It had a bearing issue that they said they would fix but it would take 5 days to get to it because it was partly over the holidays. I was OK with it because I was going out of town anyway. I asked for a text or voice mail on the status, but when I returned there was none. I called up the salesperson and was told they had sold the car to someone else who was willing to buy it without the repair. I thought we had a deal, but apparently not. Really disappointing and frustrating. read more

Dropped my work truck off for an 8am appt the night before for a recall repair. Was called at 4pm that they did not even attempt to look at. This is my business and was shut down for a whole day. Worst customer service ever. Will never buy another truck from them or any further service. Was given no explanation. I give them no stars. read more

Our family has purchased cars here for years. They offer very friendly service and are not super pushy for being sales people. We have always had extremely good luck here and if you are interested in getting a new car, I would definitely recommend this place. read more

So disappointed. After 4 visits to Morrie's in Wayzata to have the same problem fixed- faulty door sensor- causes car alarm to continually go off, I was told today it's no longer under warranty and that'll be $713. And I don't want to forget that I was told we should have brought it in a 5th time before the warranty was out. Silly me, I thought 4 times was enough! Basic car rip-off...do enough to get the customer out of the building but don't spend the money to fix it. Even better...each time I brought it in I was charged a $100 deductible as well. Morries' "Multiple Visit" approach was also required in order to get my seat heaters fixed- 5 separate trips to Morrie's...and yep, those cost $100 each as well. Enough is enough. No more Morrie's. read more

Buy Happy...I don't think so. My husband and I bought a 2007 Jeep Sahara that featured both the hard and soft tops but....6 days after bringing the vehicle home we attempted to put the soft top on and discovered the windows missing which after much hassle, we did get from the dealer (who got them from the previous owner). But wait....now the door frame bars required to install the top are also missing and by now, the dealership has completely abandoned us and has refused to find or replace the bars, thus rendering the soft top useless until we pay for the replacement parts ourselves. the entire sales staff and management at Morries Brooklyn Park are completely useless and there is ZERO customer service or even fear of lawsuit as the "arbitration" contract you are forced to sign basically means Morries is paying for the arbitrator....guess who they are going to find in favor of (per our attorney)? I would not buy from or even have service done at another Morries if my life depended on it...unless of course, I felt like I needed to be screwed! read more

BUY HAPPY??? BUYER BEWARE!! Today I am extremely skeptical of the "Buy Happy" campaign Morrie's has initiated. Despite all of the 'wonderful' things displayed on this website, we have had a TERRIBLE experience. Let me tell you our story. We 'found' my dream car on their website - a beautiful little 2004 chili red Mini-Cooper S located at the Minnetonka, MN dealership. We drove from Hayward, WI - approx. 3 hours last Sunday to take a look at it. We instantly fell in love and decided to pursue it. Being closer in proximity to the Morrie's Chippewa Valley dealership, we contacted them and made arrangements to test-drive a similar vehicle they had on their lot. We drove down there on Monday late afternoon despite bad roads and inclement weather. At that time, we decided to purchase the Mini, and their staff called the Minnetonka dealership to ensure it was still available, which it was. We signed a purchase agreement/contract & left a monetary deposit at that time and arranged for the car to be picked up from Minnetonka and delivered to Morrie's CV dealership. All week, our excitement was building - we couldn't wait to pick up our precious Mini, and waited for the salesperson to call us with the good news. Imagine our extreme disappointment when the salesperson called and told us that THE CAR HAD BEEN SOLD OUT FROM UNDER US!! Despite the fact that we had a purchase agreement, apparently the Minnetonka dealership had sent the car elsewhere to be sold to someone else. We pursued this with the staff at Morrie's Chippewa Valley, thinking there could be a solution to this problem. However, we were wrong. We felt more could have been done to salvage this sale and our trust. Again, we were wrong. Now, you're probably thinking "this is just a car - get over it." But, it's the principal of the matter. For years, this has been my dream car - every time I saw one, I would get excited and say "some day I will have one of those." We finally felt the right car at the right price fell into our laps - it was just too good to be true! Now, we are extremely angry and very distrustful of the Morrie's franchise. We feel they have violated our trust and are doing very little to earn it back. We attempted to communicate with the general manager of Morrie's Chippewa Valley, but received an e-mail that he was not available, after being told he is usually at the dealership on Saturdays (the earliest he could meet would be Wednesday - more time off of work and a 2 hour drive one way for us to accomplish this). It didn't appear to us that he was worried about losing a customer. What's bothersome to us, is that there is no clear explanation as to the sequence of events which led to this situation. At least none that has been presented to us. SO, to the owner(s) of the 2004 chili red Mini-Cooper S ... we hope you enjoy our car. To everyone else - beware. read more

Don't ever buy a car from Morries! I recently bought a 2010 Nissan Certified Murano LE fully loaded with only 20,000 miles on it. We took it home only to realize the next day that this Nissan Certified vehicle had a defective windshield. Basically across the whole windshield was a distortion or blurriness that made it difficult to focus while driving. How do you miss something like that? So, I had to bring it in to have them check it out. The service manager saw it immediately! I then was told I would have to wait for them to order and receive the new windshield. I had to take off work again to go bring the car in and as I was almost there, I received a call saying the new windshield had a chip in it and I would have to wait yet again. Since the vehicle was never completely detailed correctly, I requested for my trouble, that it be re-detailed after putting in the windshield. After receiving my Murano back after they had it for two days, I found scratches, swirls and buff marks all over the entire vehicle! I was also told their regular detailer had been out and the detailing wasn't satisfactory to them either. They offered for me to bring it back at a later date to have it rebuffed and at this point I really didn't want them to touch it anymore. So, I get home later that night only to find that I received a message that says my plates had arrived the day I dropped the Murano off to get the windshield replaced. Why wouldn't they have put my plates on while they had the vehicle for two days? All I could come up with was, they obviously don't have their crap together. What was really interesting was the day I bought the car everyone wanted to shake my hand and tell me how I was getting such a nice car. As soon as the papers were signed they didn't care about making sure that I was confident and satisfied with my purchase or their dealership. They also send you cards and letters after you make a purchase, thanking you and saying how they strive for 100% customer satisfaction; well in my opinion they should save the paper and give the entire staff, including managers, classes on customer service and business ethics. The whole don't worry, buy happy promise is simply a joke and there are plenty of other dealerships around who actually take care of their customers and really do want to keep your business. read more

Bought a 2010 Hyundai Elantra from Morries 394 Hyundai and also got the "Buy Happy" package with free oil changes every 5k up to 36months or 45k. Originally had great buying experience with them and the 5k oil changes were easy in, easy out. Every time at the 5k interval. Until I hit 35k. I tried to schedule an oil change yesterday and was told that they needed to do a 30000 mile service to the car for $308 or they could not do the free oil change. I left a message for the service manager to call me with no response a full day later. I called back in and he was "in a meeting", so I spoke to another service manager to verify I had the facts correct. The service they insisted must be done was basically all of the usual inspection points they have always checked and informed me of...along with changing the engine air filter and passenger cabin filter (which I had them do at 20k), changing the fuel tank air filter, rotating tires and brake fluid flush. When I asked about that he said they not only flush the brake fluid, but take apart the brake system to make sure everything is good! Really? Never heard of that one before. The small print at the top of the coupon book DOES say "to remain qualified the owner must complete the factory recommended maintenance at 15000 mile intervals....maintenance must be performed at Morries. Failure to do so voids the Buy Happy savings promise." Fair enough....there had been no charges for anything at 15k....but they are getting back their oil changes at 35k. The "Buy Happy" only lasts another 10k. Leaves a very bad taste in the mouth. Too bad, because they were good up til now. Not so darn "Happy" right now. In home x 14 years. $10,000. 00 cash down AND THEY WOULD NOT LET ME DRIVE OFF THE LOT UNTIL THEY HAD 100% FUNDS IN HAND!!!! Spoke to sales, and MANAGER multiple times over the 5 days prior, asked repeatedly if there was anything I should do ahead of time, oh no no no- INSULTING BAD CARE. So glad I didn't finance through Subaru - they use CHASE!!! Compare this to Honda 12 years ago- no money in the bank, no money down, nothing but a promise letter from a training program- and I drove out of the showroom. Honda was awesome to deal with over the years, too. Great product, great depreciation, great service. Morrie's is making me regret choosing the AWD for our Midwest winters. In fairness, the sales staff is trying- but not Finance. Unbelievable!!! My honey was eyeing that nice Crosstrek- rethinking that for sure now. read more
