I've been doing business with Poquet for over 15 years. I've bought cars there at least three times and it was a great experience. I've also always serviced my cars there--as they seemed fair in terms of their maintenance recommendations and keep track of what needs to be done based on mileage. Yesterday, I spent over $1,000 for 35,000 mile maintenance. I went to pay my bill and learned they are now charging 3 percent surcharge for using credit cards. No heads up for me to let me know. I could have written a check--but didn't have a checkbook with me--and who tf writes checks anymore? Then, in addition to labor charges (makes sense) I got charge a "Shop Fee". Seriously? read more

We had a bad experience selling our BMW X5 at Poquet Auto in Golden Valley this afternoon. My husband, who works in a car shop and keeps our cars in excellent condition, brought it in -- no issues, and definitely no check engine light. He watched them drive it off the lot and be gone for 10-15 minutes. But when they returned, they claimed they never drove it and that the check engine light was already on when they started it. My husband asked three separate times if they had test driven it, and each time they denied it. That's not just misleading -- it's lying. After looking online, it became clear that Poquet had the most to offer of the cars I was looking at and the best pricing. Glad we decided to stop here first (didn't need to go anywhere else!)! The second we pulled in and started to look around, we were greeted warmly, but not in a pushy way, by Dan. Just told us he'd get whatever cars we wanted to drive ready for us! Answered questions and was readily available, but didn't hound us at all. The entire staff on the grounds was very friendly. Even on a very busy Saturday, we were well taken care of and were in and out with a new car in no time at all! I've bought three cars at Poquet along with my sister and cousin. A wonderful experience from beginning to end. You can wander around the indoor showroom or the outdoor lot, sit in the cars with no-one hassling you but there's someone near if you need help. If I recall correctly, the sales crew were not on commission. Prices are fixed, no haggling. Our experience is that their trade-in offers are generous. The credit-union based financing was better than my credit union. Poquet only sells nearly-new used cars but they are top of the line in terms of looks and mechanical. They look new. The stock tends toward very well equipped. And when you've made a purchase, an expert sits in the car with you and explains all the features, sets up your phone, etc. Poquet is my go-to place when I'm buying my next car. read more

We had a good conversation about my concerns and I feel my concerns were thoughtfully considered and they were very interested in them. Out of all the reviews I have written, this is the first time a business has been interested in following up. I can see that customer service is a priority for them, and I definitely feel better about our purchase now. I can now say that I recommend them. This was the best experience ever. I worked with Brad in Lakeville and John in Golden Valley. I emailed with Brad beforehand to ask questions and figure out which cars I was going to test drive. The Golden Valley location is super close to downtown Mpls-10 minutes! When you enter the dealership the atmosphere is extremely cozy. Not at all like the bright high ceilings and freezing temps at other places. They have a front desk person you meet with and booklets of all their available cars. I test drove for about 20 minutes and decided on the same make but a different car. Since the car was in Lakeville I signed papers to buy contingent on a test drive and inspection. So easy! Filling out the loan paperwork can be done online and their rates are comparable to a credit unions. I was able to get a 6 year loan for 3.4% APR. Different credit scores will affect your rate but even those with a 600 range will have a good interest rate. The other great thing was the lack of a billion fees. There was tax, registration and a service fee, that's it! Most other dealerships would tack on ridiculous fees like 'you stepped onto our lot' fee (exaggerating yes). Not Poquet Auto! Everything was ready for me to pick up the car by Friday, and I had started the process that Monday. John helped orient me to the car and showed me some of the features. I can't believe I'm writing a review of a used car dealership, but Poquet is unlike any other. We worked with Chuck to find a unicorn of a used car: a 2014 Subaru Outback with only 28k miles. The car looks and drives like a brand new vehicle inside and out. Chuck was responsive to our many questions and Poquet exceeded every expectation of a used car dealership. Their service department immediately took care of a couple things we noted on the car and we drove away the next day very happy. I had not prepared to buy a car so I was thrown into the car buying process. I am not a "car person" so my background knowledge was minimal. I did some quick research on what was out there, what was good, and what was available on-line at numerous places. A friend suggested Poquet and I am glad he did. I checked out what they had on-line and went in on a Thursday morning. I could test drive whatever I wanted without being accompanied by a salesperson, which is really nice. I had an idea what i was looking for, but got so tired of running around to different places. I wasn't finding decent cars, and even the "no pressure" dealers felt a little shady. Service department experience was awesome. Have a 2006 Lexus that the dealership told me would cost over 1000 to fix trunk hydraulic struts so I've put up with holding the trunk up. Curious if someone could do it for less, called Poquet. Not only did they fix the struts for 1/4 the price, but fixed a sensor I was ignoring (since the price tag to fix that non issue was outrageous at the dealer too). Very happy and will def be back! My British accent makes me sound supercilious, or cute, depending on whether you're thinking of Hollywood baddies or period drama heros. This affects how I'm treated by sales staff. Brad treated me like the person I am. He tuned into what I did, and didn't, know about cars without ever being condescending. He listened, answered, and guided. Brad made the potentially stressful experience of buying a car, in an unfamiliar country, smooth. I only had a UK drivers licence, we didn't know how this would affect things, Brad was honest and calm and didn't make a mountain out of a molehill. Went here to take a look at some cars and had a great experience. The sale rep that I talked to took me through the cars that were in my budget and what I was looking for and just gave me the keys and let me take them out. After I was done test driving several cars we sat down and went over what I liked and didn't like. Ultimately they didn't have anything that really suited my needs, and the rep was the one that even said "It doesn't look like we have anything that you really want." Again and Again they go above and beyond. The Volvo I purchased there blew a belt pulley and my belt blew. Well On a sat I talked to Rob and Monday morning Andrew was already working on it. If you ever need a car go to Poquet. Every time I have had a problem they have been more helpful than any luxury dealership. I called borton Volvo after jiffy lube said they could not replace my belt. and Borton said I would have to call back Monday and maybe they could get me in this week. Well what do you do when you have a broken car and have to work. Its not fun but it happens. I called Poquet where I got it and had AAA tow it over there and they got going on it right away. You don't get that from any other luxury car dealership around. Poquet is where I send my family and friends even co workers. try them out for an oil change and walk the showroom while sipping a cup of coffee and you will see the Poquet power. They don't do pressure sales and they have the best prices and simply the greatest sales staff. I hate buying a car except from here! They specialize in leased cars that are only 1-3 years old. Such a no hassle laid back approach where you feel like a customer and not just a sale. They were very fair with my trade in, where other dealerships were not. The price was firm, which in a way is nice to not have to play the back and forth game. Best part was getting the car. They use Spire which is an amazing credit union with great rates. They set it all up for you, sign some papers, and you are out the door. Soooooo easy. Highly highly recommend. read more

Found a nice, low mileage vehicle at Poquet that was exactly what we were looking for. After my wife and I had both completed test drives, I e-mailed the sales consultant indicating that I would like to move forward and would come in to go through the numbers. She assured me that we could handle via e-mail, shared the sales and trade-in numbers and asked me via e-mail late on a Friday afternoon if I would like to purchase the vehicle. Prior to Poquet's 9 am opening time on Sat. morning, I sent an e-mail response confirming that I did indeed want to purchase the vehicle and requested the paperwork. A short while later I received a note and call from Poquet telling me that the vehicle had been sold. Apparently, someone had come in on Sat. morning to view the same vehicle and because they were on-site, they had "right-of-first-refusal" according to Poquet's policy. Very frustrating given that I had indicated my interest and intent to buy the vehicle prior to Poquet's opening time that morning and had been told that I did not need to come in to complete the transaction. All Poquet could tell me was "sorry....bad timing". So, if you decide to do business with Poquet and you find a vehicle that you like, learn from our experience - do not assume that e-mails or phone calls will secure your vehicle or that Poquet will hold a vehicle for you just because you have indicated your desire to purchase. Just made my first "big girl purchase" on a 2009 Volvo s040 here a week ago. Despite having done tons of research and mildly afraid of handing over my credit card to the big scary car salesman, this place is extremely pleasant and professional. My good friend and boyfriend both purchased cars here, with great recommendations. I'm in the market for a new car and while browsing through cars.com was reminded of the awful experience I had here a couple years back. It was without question one of the worst customer service experiences of my life (top five). They treated my potential trade-in vehicle as if it was a piece of trash (a beautiful Audi) and told me it was such that they wouldn't even be able to resell it in their own showroom. I still have that Audi. What made matters worse is that when I discussed vehicle price with them versus a dealer they actually told me to purchase a car at that dealer! Someone once said that "you may forget what people say, but you will never forget how they make you feel." This place made me feel like trash, and I happen to unfortunately also remember what they said. I would rather purchase my future Mercedes from one of those sketchy used car lots than this place.
