    Taco Tuesday cocktails!
    Jen J.

Great service at their holiday pop-up! Fun decor and a variety of drinks meant that this was definitely a must-stop in DC for holiday cheer. Loved all of the festive glasses too! Get a photo with the elf before you go (even if you hate elves).

I tried Morris on a Friday with three friends. I arrived first and sat at the bar. It was around 6:30 and I knew there was 30 mins left for happy hour. The host didn't provide a HH menu so I had to ask the bartender. I went with the espresso martini which wasn't the best. It was premade in an Absolute bottle. When my three friends arrived we moved to a table. Thankfully a woman behind the bar provided better service and explained the menu options better. I probably would try this place again outside of HH to see if the cocktails are better. The ambiance was nice, music was nice.

Great spot! My roommate and I stopped by for their Filipino pop-up night. I loved the vibe of the place--super chic with a soft blue color scheme. It was a nice balance of antique x modern & it felt hip/feminine. I liked the layout with the upstairs section. We sat at the bar. The bartender was super friendly. We split the platter. Honestly, it wasn't a lot of food for the price. It was authentic--like a family cookout--but again, I think they upcharged. TBF, it was delicious. The pancit and sisig were my favorite. We also split the polvoron sour and ube creme cocktails. I couldn't really taste any polvoron in the drink--it was strong. The ube creme drink was our favorite. Overall, super cool event with great vibes.

If you're looking for a restaurant that combines the best of local, seasonal ingredients with expertly crafted drinks and a warm, inviting atmosphere, the Dabneyis a must-visit. From the moment you walk through the door, it's clear that this isn't just another dining experience--it's a celebration of fresh, sustainable ingredients sourced directly from local farms, paired with creative cocktails that elevate the entire meal. We sat at the bar and was wow'ed by each protein. The lamb was great and the surf/turf combo on the specials was also to die for. More than anything, the drinks were innovative -- who thinks to put perilla leaves on a drink?! All in all, Dabney continues to be the definition of a mid-Atlantic one star Michelin star restaurant. If you're on the hunt for a no-nonsense, yet expertly executed cocktail bar, look no further than Morris American Bar. Nestled in a quieter part of town where the occasional Convention goer will trickle in, this spot effortlessly combines a laid-back vibe with top-notch drinks, making it the perfect place for both casual hangouts and special evenings with friends. There's no pretension here--just good drinks, great service, and an atmosphere that invites you to relax and enjoy the moment. Be sure to ask the bartender for some of his favorites. The drinks will be well balanced and he'll catch all your desired flavors!

Espresso martini and a cocktail off the weekly menu!

Morris American Bar is a great place for a fun date night-- there's a small food menu and a really fun cocktail menu to choose from! We tried one of the weekly cocktails (I can't remember the name but it had guava in it) and an espresso martini! Both were delicious! Also had the cheese pizza, which was perfect to share as a snack while chatting! The host was great and our server was good too. It can get packed, so would recommend getting a reservation if you plan on coming during the weekend.

Morris American Bar is beautiful in pictures but darker in person- still attractive though! It was a bit loud and looks like a place you go with your group. My drink was delicious - it used a muddled strawberry. I would have preferred it served straight up instead of with a ton of ice. But it was still delicious!

Cute cocktail bar with a baby blue aesthetic located by the Convention Center! A friend and I stopped by for Taco Tuesday a few weeks ago. The shrimp tacos were delicious, albeit very tiny. Drinks were delightful! The bartender made great recommendations based on our palate. I loved the Afternoon Snooze cocktail, which contained mezcal and pineapple. Cool points for the hooks underneath the bar counter! I appreciated having a place to hang my bag while sitting at the bar.

Visited the latest pop up inspired by Emily in Paris with the entire bar decorated like a Parisian cafe with bar and indoor seating as well as outside front seating. A nice interactive space if you are a fan of the tv show and if not a fun and unique space to enjoy a night out. The pop up has specialty cocktails (but also a full bar to order your preference) and a light bar menu that includes French staples like a cheese board, ham baguettes, tarte flambé and light desserts like macarons. I enjoyed the cheese board and tarte flambé but if you wanted a fuller meal you will need to order several items from the menu. The bar service for drinks was prompt and the bar staff provided great recommendations for the speciality cocktails. $ The pop up lasts for a limited time. Recommendations highly recommended (the space is intimate) There is paid street parking nearby

Morris American Bar is located right next to the convention center and the train station which makes it a very convenient and popular spot. The interior gives off the feel of an old school diner with a retro vibe although their drinks fall more under a tiki-style bar. There were lots of lights all over but overall it was still dim and intimate. My first drink was the rye ranger ($16) which was very balanced. It was slightly tart from the lemon, not super sweet, but not spirit forward either. It was a great tiki style drink. My second drink was the imperial city ($15) which was herbal and floral from the yellow chartreuse. It was fruity and another balanced drink. They have non-alcoholic drinks as well which was accommodating. Also, if you were curious like me and wondered what the ingredient "luster dust" was, I asked the server and she said that it is edible glitter. It was chill and peaceful at 8pm which was perfect for us and we enjoyed our time here.

This is my favorite cocktail spot in DC. The bartenders can make you anything, but the seasonal cocktail menu always impresses. Lowlights, 60s mint colors, and planters make for a fun atmosphere.

The drinks were alright but the service was great. My friends and I visited for the "Emily in Paris" pop up and there was a Photo Booth, which was nice, but the overall ambiance was low beat and a bit dull.

    False Advertising

False Advertising! I received an email from Morris Bar advertising a holiday cocktail menu from December 10th. My friends and I went to the bar two days ago (Dec 18th), and we were told they did not have a holiday cocktail menu "yet" and the bar was working on getting it ready soon (one week before Christmas). We were very disappointed because we only went to the place to have a holiday celebration and enjoy the "advertised" cocktails.

It's a basement bar with a bit of a dive vibe, but it's hard to ignore the nautical, blue crab theme throughout. Turns out that one of the owners is a Marylander, which is cool to see reflected in the decor in a place in dc, even though it is next door. They have a happy hour and they have a great variety of drinks in general. It's bring-your-own-food (BYOF) and there are a bunch of delicious looking Asian spots nearby, including upstairs. It didn't start getting crowded until closer to 10, which, as I said, is surprising for this part of town to me. Everywhere in Chinatown is not going to be packed and busy, and this place is here to remind you of that. Stop by if you're looking for a more chill vibe. Staff are pretty cool.

For $45 per person, the all-you-can-eat experience feels like a really solid deal considering how many protein options and side dishes you get. They start you off with a variety of banchan (side dishes), including a salad with this super tasty dressing that had the perfect little spicy kick. For the BBQ, we kicked things off with the spicy bulgogi and butter garlic shrimp, while the others tried the pork belly (I don't eat pork). Later we ordered the steak, spicy brisket, and grilled squid, which were all delicious. The spicy brisket especially was a standout for me. The guys also ordered two rounds of fried dumplings that looked amazing, but since they contain pork, I had to sit those out. I'd love to see Chadol add a veggie dumpling option to the menu! As for the sides, the kimchi and cold glass noodles were both hits at our table, and of course we all added white rice. The "mashed potatoes" though? Definitely more like potato salad and unfortunately very bland. On the other hand, the cheese corn costs extra but is 1000% worth adding. For drinks, the guys enjoyed the Woody Old Fashioned while I had a mezcal margarita-style cocktail that was smoky and refreshing. We also ordered one of the chicken options but never received it and eventually just gave up on it. One of the coolest parts of the experience is the ordering system. Most meats are ordered directly from a machine at your table, and the food comes out quickly on this conveyor belt-style setup which was honestly so fun. Drinks and side dishes are ordered through the servers. The atmosphere was lively and energetic without feeling overwhelming. The restaurant is actually much larger inside than I expected, with a modern setup that works well for smaller groups. That said, I didn't really notice tables for larger parties, so I'm not sure how they accommodate groups bigger than 6 people. Service started off a little rough because our server wasn't very attentive, but after I called it out, he definitely stepped it up and things improved. Overall, Chadol was a really good experience and absolutely worth the price. The 1.5-hour seating limit makes sense too, both to keep things moving and give others a chance to enjoy the experience. I'd definitely go back!
