I called to make an appointment as a new patient, and after being asked what insurance I have, I was put on hold for seven minutes. I called back later, and was asked what my insurance was again. After I told them, they said that they don't accept my insurance at the moment. Even though the website says that they accept ALL insurance-- which is false information. Completely unacceptable. Dr. Silver is a genuinely nice guy, very knowledgeable and supportive. I have a condition of reoccurring food poisoning since I had an 8 month bout of C-Diff 6 years earlier. Though I suffered for 8 months with C-Diff I did find a great doc who literally resolve my ordeal overnight and had been working with to resolve the reoccurring issues but he retired. Going forward I found non-GI docs are very reticent to prescribe the same medication and even when I can convince them they can never get proper authorization so the meds are crazy expensive. Dr. Silver review my issues, had heard of and agreed with the use of the particular medication I had previously used and upon prescribing it he actually got it fully authorized! This is literally the first time since my previous GI doc that I got the meds without an argument and the only time my insurance has fully cover this prescription! Bravo! read more

I called Dr Silver's office to verify if he was covered by my insurance. The person who took my call said they would check and get back to me. Later they called me, told me I was covered by the insurance and wanted to schedule me for my colonoscopy which I did. I then got a call some days later saying that he wanted to chat with me before the procedure which I found a bit unusual as for a previous colonoscopy I had elsewhere, I didn't meet the doctor until I went in for the procedure. All well and good, he was friendly, pleasant and I had the procedure Very simple process, probably as easy as a teeth cleaning at the dentist's. Lo and behold, months later I get bills from Dr Silver, the anesthesiologist and the surgical center. Consequently, I am having to pay about a thousand dollars to all these people for a procedure I would have got for free if I had found a doctor in network with my insurance company. I am quite upset by this as 1k is a substantial amount especially as I pay about $400p.m for my health insurance already. So I'm most unhappy with Dr Silver's office and the person who didn't do her job properly. And I have a distrust of his office and am choosing to warn others of my experience. Besides which, the surgical facility he chose had us patients in a big room with beds separated by curtains so I could hear other people's personal questions and answers as they answered the doctor and anesthesiologist. This seemed to me like wholesale cut price surgical facility with little privacy. read more

Hi Everyone, If you are looking for a great Gastro doctor who is kind, thoughtful, smart, and excellent at what he does then look no further. Dr Morris Silver is fabulous! I kid you not! When it comes to doctors I am extremely picky. It has taken me so long to find him. I must have screened so many doctors because I needed to get an endoscopy and a colonoscopy. Many years ago I had a colonoscopy and I was awake during the procedure, and I did not have a great experience. I was delaying it this time around searching endlessly for the right doctor. I want to mention a few things. Dr Silver is in private practice, and he was in my insurance plan. I was able to make an appointment very soon and be done with it!! I was glad to not have to deal with the scheduling at Cedars in Gastro dept to be honest. My dr had left there and long story short it was not pleasant and months out to get an appointment and I did not really find anyone I really wanted to see. Some calls that I made several times were not returned. Folks, I cannot deal with incompetence. This experience with dr Silver was amazing. He is so nice and very funny and most importantly very good at what he does. The prep part was the worst part before the colonoscopy, but this is the same anywhere. The day of the procedure it went so fast and was over before I knew it just as Dr Silver said. I was out cold and the anesthesiologist was Amazing too!! Dr Silver runs his practice like nobody's business. Elizabeth was so delightful and took care of everything. This was such a new experience for me. Dr silver has renewed my faith in doctors. There are great ones still around but you have to really search. Dr silver also referred me to another dr for something else and he was incredible too. I was able to get in to see him right away. So I had an appt. with him for acid reflux through workers comp. He goes on to tell me he doesn't think acid reflux should be covered under workers comp. I don't really care what his thoughts are on that and besides, I didn't ask. Maybe he needs to keep his personal opinions to himself unless they are medically related. I was experiencing severe stomach pain for several months and finally decided to get checked out. I chose Dr. Silver because of all the positive reviews on Yelp so I decided to get an appointment. My first impression of him was that he is a genuine man who truly cares for his patients. He is soft spoken and comes off as someone you can trust. He recommended we do an Endoscopy so we can see what's going on. Turns out I had an Ulcer, and for someone age 27 this is anomaly. After running tests of biopsy he determined that it's not cancer related thank gd. But things definitely needed to change for me to improve. Dr. Silver gave me a set of dietary rules to follow and prescribed me with medication to take every morning. However more importantly, he told me take a step back and not stress myself out. I trusted him and took his advice. Within a few days pain was gone immediately! I went back in for my follow up Endoscopy a few days ago and the Ulcer is completely gone. I went to my primary care doctor because I was experiencing severe bloating and digestive complications. He then referred me to Dr. Silver and they were able to see me immediately. I scheduled an endoscopy a few days later to find out I had significant GERD although I had never experienced heartburn. Dr. Silver was quick to diagnose me and I was prescribed medication.
