I've brought in my cat several times for the same chronic digestive issues and she just shrugs and gives me a steroid without exploring any possibilities of what the cause may be or other treatment options. She doesn't explain anything to you and brushes off your concerns because she's so focused on getting in and out within 2 minutes. She manhandles my cat during the exam (in a rush) and doesn't even get a proper look. I've had to take my cat to another vet because she is just so unhelpful. Furthermore, she still recommends declawing cats in the year of our lord 2026, despite there now being substantial research that it's unethical and painful. Her knowledge is just plain outdated. Don't take your animals here if they have any conditions that need proper time and care. Go to Dr. Gerard at Advanced Veterinary Hospital on Wilson Hall Rd instead. He explains things wonderfully.

However, I assure you that I have no reason to be dishonest and was indeed a client. I have vivid memories of the wooden sliding doors (with gaps between the door and floor). I also recall sitting near the glass door (facing Guinard) so that I could easily step outside if a larger ( my baby is very small) dog entered the narrow waiting room. There was never much grass but it was enough to allow my baby a quick bathroom break. I stand by the following statement with the hope that Guinard Animal Clinic will make changes as they care for Sumter and its surrounding communities. "Please don't fall for anything this veterinarian or the employees say. Many errors will occur and instead of immediately addressing them with you they will dismiss or deny what you say. Even when I chose to leave (bill fully paid). They were reluctant to give me my dogs records. My motivation for writing this review is that I spoke to a friend last week (a dog trainer) who had the same experiences as I did. Poor business practices and customer service…read more Care/treatment is nominal/satisfactory. They charge you to write scripts for medication you don't buy through them so that any money you save ordering those medications will be null. A scummy business practice for sure. Had I known this policy I would have not bothered having my wife ask for scripts but she ended up paying for it. A few weeks later when it came time to order the meds I selected to have Chewy call them, but they refuse to authorize the script over the phone and Chewy called me at 7pm Monday to tell me I had to mail in the script. I went to the clinic Tuesday afternoon to buy a single dose since I needed to give them to dogs today. I also asked to just be refunded for the scripts since we weren't really saving ourselves anything and now we have the headache of snail mailing scripts. I got a call back today from the 'head receptionist' who informs me that her manager (who should have had the professionalism to make a 2 minute phone call to speak with me directly) said they will not refund the scripts and furthermore they couldn't dispense more medication to us without us returning the printed paper scripts. So the fees were like $30 for the two scripts. We have already spent close to $1000 at this clinic and with our 6 pets likely would have ended up spending much more, which is fine we care about our pets and want them to have the car they need. However this 'policy' is treating us like criminals and scam artists. Maybe some people scalp scripts for flea and tick meds... who knows but, these aren't horse tranquillizers or anything they are parasite prevention meds for 5lb dogs. When I raised this point that they would likely lose my business over this I was told that is my option and they don't really care. So good, cya later bye.

The vet would t recognize their puppy shots they already had. She insisted they needed to be redone. once all the puppy schedule was Redone. I told them which of the other dog vaccines I DIDNT want them to have. The vet ignored me and gave them to the puppies anyway. I was t informed they were given. until leaving and they gave me the bill. I continued taking the puppies for their check up. Once they were old enough. I wanted to have their rabies shots done. The vet kept saying next visit. This went on for multiple visits. I ended up having to take all 3 of them to tractor supply pet clinic to get their required rabies shots. Later I called and wanted to make an appointment to have them spayed & neutered. I was told they can't come in to the hospital to be spayed and neutered until they get about 5 or 6 other vaccines from them. The only required vaccine is a rabies shot. So I asked the person on the phone if I could continue bringing them for their regular checkups. The woman on the phone said " yes, definately " so I said I can bring them to your clinic, but you won't spay or neuter them until I give in, and give them a slew of vaccines they don't need. She actual said " yes that is correct. I then told her to remove us from their registered pets. We will never return. this vet withheld their rabies shot all for another visit. Not considering what the puppies needed. Puppies need to start grooming at a young age g age to get accustomed to the noise and the procedures. Wonderful people who are very professional, friendly, and helpful!…read more I have a number of feral cats on my property and I am doing trap neuter release (TNR) to stop the cycle. The staff at Santee Animal Hospital have been very very helpful and accommodating to get me appointments for treatment. I feel the fees are very reasonable, and they do rabies shots, flea treatments, and a general wellness check. The first of what will probably be six or seven has gone through it, and she was very happy to be back home. She's the sweetest one and easiest to catch. You'll notice in the pictures that the tip of her ear has been removed. This is a sign to anyone who catches her that she's already been fixed. My next challenge is to trap and treat the rest of them. Wish me luck!
