I can't speak for Vanguard Finding in general but Sandra Meskin, who works as a mortgage broker for…read moreVanguard, is fantastic. I guess it depends on who you end up with. Sandra was recommended by my real estate agent having brought many deals to closing as quoted, no bait and switch here. Most importantly for me Sandra answered my numerous questions about just about everything you could think of. She would often reply late at night while I lay awake sweating over LTV, Fixed vs. Jumbo, points, and credit scores. She is also proactive in contacting me where as I've had experiences chasing mortgage brokers to get back to me in a timely manner as required by the deal!

On 2/25/2015, I was contacted by German Concepcion in regards to applying for a mortgage loan. I…read moredid not contact him, he solicited me. After discussing my situation I agreed to apply for a pre-approval. Mr. Concepcion, after being provided with all my documents, quoted me a loan amount of $215, 000 loan 3.5 down (7,000). I agreed to this loan amount. However that very afternoon the first written correspondence I received from him indicated a loan amount of $210,000. I contacted Mr. Concepcion via telephone and he stated that the number did not fit and had to be lowered. I accepted this against my better judgement I should have known at that time that if a person's does not keep their word they have no character. On 2/26/2015, I received my pre-approval letter. It indicated a down payment of ten percent. I contacted Mr. Concepcion to ask him why did the pre-approval state ten percent. This fast talker stated to me that it was just put there because I indicated that I might put ten percent down but that it had nothing to do with the the loan. "Its just there." and does not affect the amount of the loan. He continued to insist to leave it on the pre-approval but I insisted it be removed especially since as he indicated it has nothing to do with my loan. Thankfully this conversation took place in my office via speakerphone. At this time Mr. Concepcion agreed to have it removed. Later in the afternoon he sends me an email and a pre-approval letter indicated a loan amount of $200,000. I contacted him and he states to me because I decided not to put the ten percent down which is not what was agreed upon ( he quoted me 3.5 down (7000) loan amount of $215, 000). Mr. Concepcion lies and states that we discussed the difference between FHA Loans and Conventional Loans. More lies, We actually discussed FHA Loan and VA loans. I wasted two days on someone who apparently had no intentions of being honest and did not give me the benefit of the doubt that among change after change I would not stop to think. This morning I unfortunately had a conversation with his Boss, Michael Mr. Chiffone. Nonchalant, un-apologetic, pretentious are all words that come to mind. My advice is if you find yourself dealing with this company record everything. Dishonesty, bait and switch come to mind. I will also be forwarding my complaint to the Better Business Bureau, The Consumer Complaint Agency, The State Regulatory Board and The Attorney General. I provided personal information and documents that I would not have done otherwise if German Concepcion would not have lied to me.
