Taylor came highly recommend by our realtor, and he made sure to live up to that recommendation. Taylor, Wilson, and Morgan all kept in communication with us (mostly my husband), and kept us up to date on what was needed, where things were in the process. Taylor made sure to make it to the closing on time ( which meant a lot since the real estate team we had didn't bother). We had been preapproved for a loan on a home, and everything seemed to be going smoothly. We had excellent credit and zero debts. Within 24 hours of closing on the house, we received notification that the loan was canceled. I'm still unclear as to why. This left us to scramble around and find a private lender at the last minute. Ultimately it all worked out, but was a nightmare to work through. they requested all kinds of weird things. For example, information on the value of the house we were renting at the time. Since this fiasco, my mother-in-law has received all kinds of spam calls regarding wanting to purchase the property. We have this leak narrowed down to Mortgage Right, as they were the only ones that asked for her contact information. There are lots of great lenders out there, avoid this one like the plague. read more

When we were looking for a mortgage company, we weren't sure who we were going to use. My mind was set on going with whomever gave us the best deal, which looked to be an out of state firm. Our realtor kept pushing Taylor B at MortgageRight. I see why now. They made sure our experience was hassle free, and were always communicative if we had any questions or concerns. They ended up having the best price, and worked with us to make sure we got the best deal possible. And while this may sound minor to some, they made sure to be at the Closing table, which even our realtors couldn't make it to on time. I think this transaction was much better than the one for my previous house. The worst service I have ever received from any business.They Lied to us and cost us thousands of dollars. We ended up homeless. The york county south Carolina office is absolutely terrible.  We tried to buy a house using a V.A. loan we were lied to about pre approval for over a month. We broke the lease on our apartment and packed up all our belongings. The day of closing they called us and said they couldn't approve us till September. My wife is a disabled veteran and now 4 months pregnant. Because of the incompetence and blatant dishonesty of mortgage right we were homeless for the 4rth of July. We recently found out from our new loan company that (M.R) never even started the V.A. application process. They knew from day 1 that they wouldn't approve us but still lied to us for a whole month taking our appraisal, and Ernest money. The treatment we received was out right despicable the agents at their South Carolina office. Made us loose a substantial amount of money 1000.00 for the U-haul alone. They will be hearing from our attorney about that. We will be reporting them to the B.B.B and we are currently in the process of getting this company black listed from the V.A. So no other service members are subjected to these kind of scumbagg business practices.. We are also contacting every news outlet in the following counties. York,lancaster,Chesterfield and Mecklenburg.  Loan company takes advantage of 22 yo pregnant veteran resulting in homelessness on the 4rth of July...what a headline.. read more

Poor Business Practice. Potentially unethical We have our house on the market. We received an offer from buyers who were given a loan pre-approval letter from TJC Mortgage stating that they were approved for $116,000 USDA loan. This letter accompanied the contract that we then signed after agreeing on the price of our home. We then found a home ourselves - drew up a contract and made an offer to another seller who accepted our offer. We then find out that our buyers financing fell through. Our Buyer was told by their lender that they now do not qualify for the USDA loan. This TJC Mortgage Company wrote a letter of pre-approval before they even ran the couple's credit - wasting all of our time and almost costing myself and my husband 1000's of dollars. How does a company get away with writing up approvals of credit prior to actually doing their job and checking ones credit background to actually see if they qualify? Of course this shortsighted behavior has inconvenienced the buyers, their agent, my family, our agent, our lendor, and the sellers we were going to buy from and their agents as well. All because TJC Mortgage - did not do their due diligence and check the credit of a couple prior to writing up their approval. There should be a law against that. read more

Horrible, awful, & dishonest company. I implore all Realtors/Buyers/Sellers to stay far away from them & their shady business practices. They lied to my buyer, my buyer's realtor, me, my realtor, the seller of the house I am buying, that seller's realtor, & the closing attorney. They lied to everyone throughout the whole loan process assuring us all repeatedly that we were good to go & everything was running on time. Then less that 24 hours prior to us sitting at the closing table the closing attorney could not get the paperwork out of them for the close & we found out that the originating loan officer, Pierre Brown, was out of the county vacationing. So this guy goes on vacation knowing he has a loan closing scheduled & he is no where near completing the process! Mind you even the appraisal had been in MortgageRight's possession for 14 days, the file was never even sent to underwriting. They just let it sit. Bottom line if you actually want to buy or sell a home, avoid this company at all costs! read more

Do not use. We used them on our first purchase and majority of everything was fine. Then a year later they convince me to refinance because of the rates were better. Total screw up fron the beginning. Several times couldn't get an answer on closing dates. We were told we would get about $13,000 back from our escrow acount and when I questioned them about making sure we didn't pay the taxes twice, what did they do, they paid our taxes twice and we are out over $5000. Still waitng on the refund from them. I even asked the clsing attorney about it and he said TJC would make sure they wouldn't pay them twice. Wrong!! TJC mortgage has $5000 of our money and will not pay us. Very sad when you can't trust them. They also sold our mortgage in two weeks after closing. Never made a pyment to them which is another reason why we can't track the $5000 down. Stay away from them read more

My wife and I just bought a new house using Joe from TJC as our mortgage originator. Joe is the best. Seriously. It was always easy to get in touch with either he or his assistant Kristi, even at inopportune times. Joe would call me while he was at his son's baseball game or while sitting on the beach on vacation to talk me through mortgage questions. This man is passionate about his job and truly finds joy in helping others. We found ourselves in a time crunch between selling our old house and buying the new house which required an extremely quick turnaround time. Joe was able to process and close our loan in a little over two weeks. It was almost unbelievable at first, but he pulled it off with flying colors. Worst experience. My fiancé and I were first time home buyers and after doing our research we decided to try TJC. Danielle was the person who helped us and from the bat I had an uneasy feeling. Should have walked away then. For starters, she kept getting our application information wrong. We were given a different explanation anytime we spoke to her about what numbers to expect. She would repeatedly say things like, "going to call you at 2:00" and would either a) call at 10 at night or b) not call at all. She texted everything. Which I normally would be fine with but with it being such confidential info I felt like it was super unprofessional. The day that we got our pre approval letter she kept telling me that we would not qualify for the particular one we were going for, I asked why because she had been telling us we were approved for 3 weeks. She called my fiancé by the wrong name and I corrected her in the next email and she then informed me that she had sent me the wrong information and that we were approved. She had not only gotten me confused with someone else but she had sent us someone else's information! I then knew that persons name, financial information, had their application, etc. She immediately texted me and said something along the lines of "omg like so sorry, someone else has a similar name as you please disregard those emails" And then proceeded to tell me WHY these people were being denied, telling me even more information about their finances. I was so thrown off. She begged for us to still use them for our mortgage and like a dummy I said ok. Only because we were so far into this. I told her my concerns of her never answering my calls, getting us confused with other applicants, etc and she promised to do right. FOOLISH ME. So we find a house on a Saturday, very competitive house. We decided to put an offer down on Sunday. I called Danielle on Saturday to tell her we would need some info for our realtor to finish our offer letter the following morning. After HOURS she texts me (of course, no call back) and was said she would get right on it. Well we go to our realtors office the next morning and she tells me that she tried contacting Danielle three times, all in different forms of communication and never heard back. We went on a limb and used another mortgage lender that we had been recommended from friends and she did everything for us from start to finish in about 20 minutes. I called, texted, and emailed Danielle that we were not using them anymore and why. Danielle texted our realtor that next WEDNESDAY our information that we requested that Saturday. She ignored my messages of us saying we were giving them the boot. Had we stayed with TJC we would have lost our house that we were wanting. Danielle Charlnoes was easily the most unprofessional person I have EVER worked with and I am so thankful we went a different route. We know several couples in the home buying process and after hearing of our experience they have chosen to do their mortgages elsewhere. I hate that one person can taint a whole company's review, but our experience was ridiculous. read more
