It is a nice venue. Big. It's outside and if you're under the roof it's nice. You can sit on the lawn but it's not covered. Sound is amazing. Coming in was pretty good. Got there at 7:30PM and it started at 8PM. The lots we somewhat lettered and numbered. We were in Lot B Row 3. It showed B3 in a small sign on the ground but seems like they need ones poles that have the signs on them too so you can see them from far away. Leaving was horrific. Some people directing traffic. But a lot of people just pull out of their spot like right where the road is and it stops the flow. Once we were by the gate on Music Lane, it wasn't as bad and they block traffic on Horizon Pkwy and people leaving venue use all the lanes to go left or right back onto Horizon Plwy. but goodness they need to have better flow. It took like 30mins to get out. Everyone cuts others off and it's just hard. Idk if they can make more exits/entrances if that would help? Prices for drinks and food are ridiculous though. $26 for some cocktail! $12 for bottomless popcorn. Just eat before you go! Maybe bring snacks and leave them in the car for when you go back. read more

Honestly love this new venue. Not a bad seat in the place, lawn seating was perfectly spacious, drinks were good albeit pricey, sound system was muchhh better than azura (cricket amphitheater). I was very nervous about parking having read the reviews but it was pretty painless getting in and out. We arrived maybe 30 minutes before the show started. I've dealt with worse trying to get in and out of arrowhead, so maybe they worked out some kinks/ or it's just dependent on the concert? Overall, the venue is beautiful and a great space for outdoor concerts and I'm excited to catch more live shows there. read more

I visited this venue for the first time last week and I was impressed. I've heard a lot of negative things about this venue but I didn't have the same experiences. My experience was mostly positive. Pro tip for parking: you have to buy a parking pass online. If you wait till the day of, you'll be paying an additional $5. Buy it up to the day before, it's only $20. I despise paying for parking but $20-25 isn't terribly unrealistic for a venue. I thought parking was smooth and the complaints I've seen about getting in and out maybe have gotten worked out. I was able to get right in after they scanned my parking pass and I was able to get out of the venue in 5-10 minutes max. The venue is gorgeous. It's large, they have separate spaces with seating if you need to take a break or want to eat. And they have a ton of food options. The set up really reminded me of RedRocks amphitheater in Colorado without all the stairs. I've seen complaints about food pricing, I personally didn't grab any food because I ate a large slab of homemade lasagna at home so I was stuffed. I did however grab a cocktail. Again, I've seen a lot of complaints about prices but the prices are honestly in line with other venues. I ordered a shaker cup cocktail in a vodka strawberry lemonade. It cost $28 before tip.For reference, I paid $28 recently at Power and Light for a similar cocktail. I got to keep the cool shaker cup with the rave light. It'll be a nice camping accompaniment in the future. (If you see me in the woods drinking out of my light up shaker, mind your business! lol) The cocktail was pretty large and that was the only drink I ordered or needed. If you're concerned about pricing, they will allow you to bring in up to a gallon sized sealed bottle of water in a plastic container. You can also bring in food as long as it fits into a gallon sized ziplock. I brought in a bottle of water without issue. Most venues will charge between $3-5 for water. Sound was great. Whoever designed it did a fantastic job. I had originally bought lawn tickets but they closed the lawn due to rain so we all got to sit in the back seats. The seats were relatively comfortable and even from the back, I still had a good view. They have a few screens on either side of the stage. My one complaint is the bathroom design. They have a ton of stalls. I didn't even wait once in line for a restroom which is crazy because usually the women's bathrooms are packed and you're gonna be waiting. Not here. And they were clean. My complaint is the stupid auto soap dispensers that just suck. I went to at least half of them before I found one that was working or was filled with soap. The sensors are not sensitive. My other issue was the placement of the paper towels and hand dryers. They are not intuitively next to the sinks. You have to walk to a whole different room to dry your hands and if you're near the back, it's a way to go with wet hands. I honestly will not be surprised when someone ends up slipping on the wet floor from people going to dry their hands. F minus on that. Overall, it's a nice, new awesome venue that I look forward to returning to. read more

What an awesome addition to the Northland! The acoustics are amazing no matter where you sit. I've been twice now and cannot rave enough about it. From the friendly and helpful staff to the well-thought-out restrooms this place really is first-rate. So many good and beverage options and you can bring in snacks ( clear gallon bag) and water ( unopened up to 1 gallon) with refill stations. Parking was an easy in and out and not bad priced, $20 in advance or $25 at the gate. There are higher preferred options but really the general parking is fine. Drinks are a bit pricey but you can " pregame" in the parking lot. Fantastic line up this year. I can't wait to see what's in store for 2027 season read more

Great Venue! I attending the soft opening of Yacht Rock theme night. The various seating areas were nice. Tables with lawn chairs, and various other seating throughout this really large venue. Its really nice to have this in the Northland. Like all venues nowadays the cost of everything is quite high from drinks to food. The seating in the Amphitheatre is comfortable and there is also lawn seating which zi will soon experience later in the year when I visit. read more

Gorgeous New Music Venue with friendly Staff, and an Amazing Music Experience. When you arrive and depart, parking is a challenge, but there are a lot of parking staff that are patient and direct you in and guide you out. There is one main road in and one main road out. It took about 45 minutes to leave the parking lot after the show, similar to arrowhead.... if you're inpatient, leave before every else. The food is gourmet ball park style and is priced accordingly. I ordered a Mosh burger ( double cheeseburger and Fries ). They had all the food prepared and under heat lamps. The Burger was great, but the fries had been under the heat lamp for awhile. I got there early, so there were no lines. The concession staff, merch table staff and security were all happy to be there and are friendly. The seats and Lawn Look Great, but I'm there for the show and i like to be as close as possible. read more

Monday night I attended the Sunset Soundcheck at the new Morton Amphitheater, joining thousands of other music fans eager to get a first look at Kansas City's newest concert venue. Having visited amphitheaters in other cities, I've long wondered why Kansas City didn't have a first-class outdoor performance venue with a roof. Now it does. For those of us in the Northland, Morton Amphitheater is practically in our backyard. Located just off I-635, it should be an easy drive from nearly anywhere in the metro. The parking situation appears well thought out. The lot is massive, reminiscent of Arrowhead Stadium, and the parking attendants were friendly and helpful in directing traffic. I was also impressed by the size and proximity of the handicap parking area, located directly south of the main entrance. Once inside, you're greeted by a large patio area with tables, umbrellas, and lawn games. This is where merchandise will be sold, and there are plenty of food and beverage options available before the show. To reach the seating bowl, you'll climb three flights of stairs. The payoff is worth it. I checked the view from the back, middle, and front sections, and there truly isn't a bad seat in the house. Sightlines are excellent throughout. Even with temperatures around 88 degrees, the fans beneath the roof kept the seating area surprisingly comfortable. At the top of the bowl is a grass section where guests can rent chairs. Below that are the most affordable reserved seats, similar to upper-level stadium seating. About halfway down, the seats become plush and padded. The suites are also located in this area and appear to offer wait service. One surprise was that the first 20 rows closest to the stage consisted of folding chairs. I'm not sure whether those sections will be sold as reserved seating or general admission during concerts. Since this wasn't an actual performance, I can't comment on how concessions will operate during a show. There are two bars at the top of the bowl near the lawn area, along with the Vinyl Room and additional food and beverage options on the north side of the venue. The inaugural concert lineup is outstanding and offers something for virtually every music fan. I can't wait to return for a real show. read more

Very hard to find the specials they advertised and staff didn't know either. They need to turn all fans in - bathrooms are SUPER hot just FYI. The sound is GREAT!!! Seat padding differs greatly between 100, 200 and 300... just know that. The box options look super fun and are in various levels ( so varying $$) Staff should not stand in front of seats blocking view just fyi. Love that drinks are in aluminum cups which is great as well and water fountains have refill stations. Very front seats are folding and no place to place your drinks Excited for lice outdoor music venue in the Northland!! Being your big mouth koozie. I recently attended Kesha at Morton Amphitheater, and it was not only their first show of the season, but the opening show of this brand new venue and we were highly impressed!! Entry/Exit: there are two ways to reach the venue area, my GPS took me on a two lane road which was slower, but didn't take more than 15 minutes to enter. We saw another four lane road that was very busy going around the stadium as well. Lots of entrances and exits to the parking lot which kept wait times to leave reasonable for such a large venue and there was lots of staff directing traffic. Parking: We did $20 general parking, I purchased in advance in Ticketmaster app and they scan it when you reach the entrance, very simple and lots of staff were there to scan passes. The premier and premium parking is much closer, and if it has its own exit, it may be worth it. **note of advice-- they did not have parking lot signage for rows or sections yet (new venue- I'm sure it's coming)-- but be sure to use the venue to memorize where you parked, many people were lost after the show! The Uber/Rideshare lines looked very long and were at a standstill when we left, but there is an area of the parking lot just for these pickups and drop offs, so do still utilize this if you need it! Venue Gates: One main entrance, very easy, lots of staff-- mobile tickets only! All bags are searched, 12x6x12 clear stadium bags and 6x9 small purse/clutch rules apply. Sealed water up to a gallon allowed (specific shows may have different guidelines). When you first walk in, you're in this really beautiful open space where you can hear the concert and there is food, drinks, water bottle fillers, and all sorts of seating and fun photo opps!! It's just the coolest hangout spot with lots of turf and tables. The venue itself is a bowl that you can access via stairs, elevator, or side ramps on each side. Seating: Holy padded seats! The seats are a larger width than your standard stadium seat and very comfy. The material of the seat does make them a little sweatier- your sign that you just need to get up and dance! We were in section 306, Row C, seats 11-12. I'm including pictures from our seats, but honestly I think every seat in the upper bowl is a good seat. The box level looked awesome- they also have comfy chairs and small couches!! The ground of the bowl does have a gradual slant so ladies know that your boots will become a little more uncomfy faster! The lawn areas did fill up quickly- they are turf grass and looked soo nice!! Highly recommend the covered lawn seats for a few extra dollars if there's a chance of rain or if the sun is at full height for your show. Food/Drinks: talk about delicious-- and thoughtful-- and just a notch above the rest!! I ordered the two dollar hotdog special that comes on a potato bun, not your standard hotdog- fantastic. I also got the soft pretzel, it gave me funnel cake vibes, absolutely delicious. My friend got the street corn nachos with the Chamoy on them- talk about creative and yummy!! The cocktails and signature shakers for Kesha were so fun-- lots of NA options too, love that inclusivity!! Also a cashless venue. Overall, we had a fantastic time and I am excited to come back to this venue! read more

Caught opening night at Morton Amphitheater and overall, it's a genuinely exciting addition to the KC area -- but first-timers, go in with some patience. Parking: When you pull in, take note of a landmark near your car. There is zero signage indicating which section or row you're in, and you will absolutely be wandering in a sea of identical-looking spaces when you come back out. Learn from my mistake. Getting out: It's an amphitheater, so the post-show exodus is what it is. Plan for it and you won't be annoyed. The upside of arriving early: I had GA tickets and got there right when doors opened -- totally manageable crowd at that point, easy to get around, no lines. Would recommend it. Drinks: I'm sorry, $30 for a seltzer? I genuinely had to do a double take. Venue drink prices are always rough, but this is a new level. Budget accordingly or pre-game aggressively. Staff: Genuinely wonderful across the board. Friendly, helpful, easy to flag down. Amenities: Plenty of bathrooms and bars distributed throughout -- no nightmare lines on either front, at least early in the night. It's a cool venue with obvious potential and a great season lineup ahead. They just need to sort out the parking signage before the lot fills up with 16,000 confused concert-goers. read more

We left Argosy Hotel/Casino around 6:45, traffic was congested especially coming off the interstate but from where we came it was not too bad. Once you got into the vicinity there were about 4-5 rows of cars trying to get in, there wasn't any guidance one your parking ticket was scanned. I thought it would be easier leaving late but it wasn't. After we parked out in ten buck two we ventured up to the venue(take a pic of the area you parked so you can find your car later)once we entered the venue it was beautiful! Lots of outdoor seating, bars, food etc. we walked around a bit and I was disappointed that we couldn't check out the Vinyl Room(you need a VIP ticket. Over all the venue is nice, drinks and food is pricy, restrooms are clean, seats are fairly comfortable. I do wish the screens off the stage were bigger. The lawn area looked nice as well. read more

Went out for a concert last night and this venue was beautiful! The entrance was filled with outdoor games, beverages and food options, merchandise. The food was decent and fairly priced offering a $2 hot dog special. I really liked all the different options of food. The restrooms were clean and had plenty of stalls. There are refillable water bottle stations which made it super convenient to fill up. If you want to see a concert I recommend trying this place, you won't be disappointed. read more

Fun venue and lawn area is not over crowded at all. I do have concern of speed to exit venue. My friend group and I took quite a few moments of stop go to walk out of the facility through the two stairs way available for exiting. Instead of being a consistent flow of leaving the premising like azura or even starlight. It got much worse in the parking lot. It took my group a full hour just to leave the parking. We came to Morton for the first time since opening to see Evanescence and Spirit Box. First off, the traffic situation is an absolute nightmare. There is one road in and its the same road out. They have it set up similar to if you were coming into the Kauffman or Arrowhead for an event, however both of those venues have SEVERAL entrance and exits like this. The amount of cars coming in and out of here is a madhouse, and it was by far the worst part of coming to a show here. Once we did finally get pulled in, it truly reminds me of walking into a baseball game. Entrance to the venue is similar, then when you come in there is a ton of stuff to do out in the food court/drink/merch area! They have turf with corn hole boards, plenty of seating and bar top tables to stand at with your drinks. We didny get a chance to try any food but they had alot of different options to choose from food wise! The drinks were really good, and they came in these light up Shaker souvenir glasses that were cool. Pricing is what you would expect from a large commercial venue like this, paid $22 i think for the drinks, but the refills were $19 if you bought the cup drinks. Now for the seating.... if you enjoy being absolutely blinded by the sunlight for the first half of the show, pick a seat anywhere in first 4-5 sections on each side of the venue. We were a section away from the farthest section on the right and that was a bad choice, now we know. The venue faces directly at the sun, so glasses wearers beware and try to bring sunglasses to wear over your glasses or something, otherwise you cannot see anything until the sun fully goes down. Next time we will pick seating more centered in the middle of the venue. The lawn seating looked really cool, they have little bars in the lawn area as well. Still not my favorite venue in kc, but I'd MUCH rather come here than TMobile Center read more

They have some great artist. The facility has some work to do to get their act together though. They allow for open smoking except in the expensive reserved seat areas. The pot is abundant in the entry areas, concession and lawn seat areas. It travels throughout this outdoor facility. The skunk smell gets into your clothing and 2nd hand smoke is difficult to get away from. The parking lot has only one entrance and exit for general public. A poor design for a 16,000 seat venue. They ran out of white wine in the first hour. Beers are $16.00 per can. Next time I'll just buy the album and avoid the aggravation. read more

Overall impression is that this place has potential but there are a lot of downsides. The good: -The seats are so cushy and large with tons of leg room! I've never enjoyed sitting in a venue seat more. -Food options were plentiful. -Plenty of stalls in the women's bathroom, I never had to wait (although it would have been nice if the women's would have been closer to the entrance gate and venue instead of the mens). -My friends really loved their pretzel and enjoyed their cheeseburgers. I was not a fan of the potstickers--the sauce and filling were good but the dough part was super hard and crunchy on the ends which made it awkward and difficult to eat. I won't be getting the potstickers again. The bad: -dude, where's my car? We dropped a pin to find our car, but we witnessed SO MANY PEOPLE completely lost and frustrated wandering around for their car. The sounds of beeps was almost funny as people tried to find their cars by sound. There is no signage on the light poles nor any markings on the pavement. If you didn't drop a pin at your car in your phone... may the odds be ever in your favor. I'm bringing sidewalk chalk the next time I go, to leave a breadcrumb trail for myself, if I ever go back. Another great idea a friend of mine had is to tie a helium balloon to your car so you can see it, or some kind of extended antenna with something on it. -Steaming almost-boiling lava-level remove-your-skin hot water in the bathroom. I feel sorry for people with sensitive skin. Did I mention the bathroom water is H-O-T?!? -the floor is sloped towards the stage in the majority of the seats so it gets a little tiring standing/dancing on a slope. -the revolving menus in the concession/grill area is really annoying. I had to train my eyes to look at a certain place on the screen and wait for it to revolve to what I wanted to analyze. All the windows had the same options but it took a hot minute or three to figure that out. -No shortage for opportunities to increase your natural vitamin D. We stood in the blazing sun for an hour before they opened the doors. They didn't open when they said they would--they were late. Then once we got in, the little bit of shade was taken. Then our chairs were in the blazing hot sun. They need awnings on the sidewalk leading up to the venue. Even a sunshade cloth would be immensely helpful. They also need to block the sun on either side of the big TVs so we don't baste like chicken seated in our chairs. -There are big fans on the ceiling of the pavilion. They are set on turtle super slow mo. But we figured out that they were actually helping despite the slow speed because about the time the show started, it got warmer... they turned those fans off. The sun was still shining directly on us. (Poor performers were dripping sweat the whole time even in the shade but that's just how outdoor concerts go--At least they had a fan directly on them). Moral of the story is, plan to roast in the sun like a spit-fire roasted chicken if the temp is hot. -When analyzing the fast-evolving menus at the grill/concession, there are no awnings so again... you bake. But just think... those poor workers are frying with the sun beating right in on them. While I was waiting for my potstickers, I asked the nice lady if she remembered to use sunscreen and she grimaced and said no, but that she'd be fine. She had naturally pale skin and it was turning pink, I felt so bad for her. Please, please, please put up awnings for your staff! They really need it!!! -The worst part is how long it takes to leave. It took us 45 min to get to the highway. We were about in the middle so some people spent over an hour trying to leave. There has GOT to be a better way for traffic to flow outbound. Tailgating afterwards (in the midst of exhaust fumes) is looking like an attractive idea. read more

The parking situation is unacceptable to say the least. People pay insane money and travel long distances to see shows that mean a lot to them. Tonight we missed half of the Doobie Brothers because of absolutely atrocious planning on this venue's entrances off the highway. We also missed a lot of the second half of Santana just so that we wouldn't be stuck in the parking lot for another hour and a half to two hours. It would take years to fix, and I'm old. I think about a third of tonight's crowd deserve refunds. I will never, ever attend an event here, and I go to many concerts per year. I know I am not alone. Shame on whoever dropped the ball here. read more

Arrival...set to get there 15 minutes early... instead we sat in line to get in for 40 minutes... Then we spent another 30 minutes because cell phone coverage is awful, as in, couldn't even text or get to a simple website. Ticketmaster is where I bought my tickets...couldn't even open the app to use my parking pass... Then...couldn't get the app to cooperate with their check-in system, which should be a simple wallet scan and go, but no...that was around 40 minutes. Tickets were Section A, row G...well our seats were taken up by people. So then staff just told us to squeeze in? Who the hell says that? We paid for our seats, we should have our seats without conflict... Then leaving at 11::00 PM...we didn't get to the highway until midnight, just after midnight that is...then we had another 25 minute drive home. Thank god our babysitter was understanding, but we couldn't even text her in the parking lot because the cell tower coverage is beyond awful. Whoever designed this...designed with making the inside look great...they forgot every other piece behind this. I will never return to this Morton Amphitheater for anything. Oh, $20 per beer and $20 for mixed "well" drinks? Sorry, $15 for a drink feels too much at times, this place is a total rip off and every bartender is under training...so it's not even a good cocktail per my wife. I wish I had a drink to forget my awful experience here! What was waste of money this event was! I went to see Akon and Neyo... We missed Akon entirely because of negligence on parking and the scan to get in. $200 on parking and tickets...$100 on three drinks (including) tip... not even factoring in babysitter having to stay an extra hour and a half. If it was possible to give negative ratings, I would give this place the worst of the worst and do not recommend anyone to go to this experience. read more

We went to our first concert here last week. Wasn't sure what to expect with a new venue, and sure there are growing pains as they find their footing, but this was ridiculous. Collectively our group has been to more than 200 concerts all over the country and this was by far the worst experience of them all. We definitely will NOT be back unless we know for certain some things have changed. Highlights include: Being told repeatedly to arrive early (4pm) when gates didn't open until 5:30. Even then, we were made to queue up in the blazing hot 90 degree sun with absolutely zero cover until almost 6. There was very little shade/seating on the limited concourse inside the entry gates. People were crowded onto the tiny bits of shade offered. We did appreciate the turf rather than all concrete. Bizarrely, in two separate bathrooms the water was so hot it actually steamed. It was unusable and surely a health and safety hazard. Workers were overheard discussing the issue, so it was not a new occurrence. Inside the arena, the majority of the seating was still in the sun, despite being covered. For a venue primarily operating during peak summer hours, this seems unacceptable. We were absolutely miserable by the time the concert started. What might have helped were the five or six ginormous fans affixed to the covered roof; however, the fans were at such a low speed, they almost appeared to be moving by wind. We found out the hard way that was not the case when, for some ungodly reason, the fans were turned OFF soon after the concert started and it got even hotter. As many have previously stated, there is zero parking lot signage. It made for a lot of entertainment watching people wander trying to find their cars. The exiting had zero direction and was basically a free for all, taking us about an hour to move more than a couple feet. It wasn't until we were exiting the facility that we finally saw an officer directing traffic. Actual positives: the food (decent quality for what it was), the audio and video were both great quality. The very best part was the comfy, cushy seats with lots of leg room. In all, a terrible disappointment we will NOT be repeating, even if the Pope himself is making appearance. read more

Went to see Dave Mathews Band. For future concerts, give yourself about three hours to get from your home into your seat. Stuck in traffic 2 hours. Left the restaurant maybe 8 miles away at 6;00 and didnt get to my seat for the 7;30 concert til 8:00. Entering from any direction is a cluster. Trying to park once in the grounds was a fiasco. They had several choke points where the traffic would go from four lanes to two. Then two to one. Everyone was trying to go over each other to get over lanes. Then once inside, there was no one to show us to the right section to go into the event. Once in the event they had no signage as to the section numbers. Only saving grace is we decided to leave early and avoid another 90 minute to two hour wait to get out of there. read more

Attended Tyler Childers on 14 July 26, then attended Turnpike Troubadours 18 days later at The Starlight Amphitheater. The Starlight wins in every single category and it's not close. Getting in/out of the venue is far better at the SL, multiple options and even with hwy 71 closed, we were in/out quickly and efficiently. Morton logistics were horrible, one way in/out, 90 min wait times, horrible. Paid top $ for center section seats at both venues, right in front of the stage. Morton we were packed in and sitting on folding chairs, really, really bad. Didn't even have a cup holder. SL, we were 5 rows from the microphone, very comfortable seats and yes, cup holders. Paid for the VIP section at the SL for pre show activities, good food, that you had to pay for, but super comfortable set up as we waited for the show. No such offering at Morton. Sound quality at the SL was far superior to the mumbled, distorted Morton sound. Bottom line, there are a couple of shows at Morton coming up that I wouldn't mind attending. But the production and logistics we experienced at Morton, now, compared to SL, and I have zero interest in attending another Morton show, they have a long way to go to create even an average fan experience. Hats off to everyone at the Starlight, I've decided that the Turnpike show we saw last night was the best concert experience I've ever had! Well done Starlight team, we'll be back! read more
