I made a mistake and bought the wrong supplies to fix a gutter. Took it back about an hour later still in the packaging and they wouldn't refund not give me a refund. I will never shop there again. read more

I came at the end of the day. About 10 minutes before closing. And the gentleman who helped put the propane in my camper could have turned me away. But he completed the laborious task of filling my RV tank with propane, and he did it with good cheer. It's nice to get that kind of small town service. read more

Went for key cut. Mgr said he couldn't get the blank for a common padlock. Very curt, couldnt be bothered suggesting an alternative place. For the blank and had it cut at Home Depot. While I was there spent another $700 I could have spent at ACE. I won't be back. read more

Port Charlotte had no employees this morning except for one cashier who was engaged with a customer about an air filter. There were 5 people ahead of me and I had a question about the product I was buying. I left it because it looked like an hour wait. I don't mind paying the higher prices at Ace because service used to be excellent. I like supporting local businesses but I'm not interested in supporting crappy or nonexistent service. read more

Well, once again corporate business supersedes common sense. The almighty dollar has taken away almost every reason we supported Ace. The staff has been sent on the winds to other stores or let go, the most recent an employee of 30 years. The inventory has gone to he11, and apparently they don't care, as long as the numbers are good. Take a look in the fittings area, and you will find hundreds of little white bags, which I am sure are cheaper, but impossible to see through to tell if they are what you need. The staff, with the exception of those that have stuck it out are just employees, with pasted on smiles and quota's to meet; one actually was short with a customer today right in front of me. Employees used to be hired for their knowledge, not just to run a register. Plumbing, electrical, building, gardening pros that knew because they worked in those fields. If you want to buy a Yeti or some fishing tackle they have it, as well as a bunch of stuff better left to the Dollar store or Wal-Mart; You can even buy Jerky, Popcorn or chachki's! An entire isle of space wasted on grocery store type cleaning supplies. But the profits are good! The reason I write again is today once again I have to go to Home Depot to get the rest of the items I KNOW I used to buy at Ace, standard electrical items. Their location would be a great place to open a HARDWARE store. I have continued to try to use them, but once again I am let down. read more

Love this place. Great staff and 90% of what you'll need for mist projects. Very good selection of fishing and boating gear. You pay a little more for the convenience but its worth it. read more

Absolutely no adherence to social distancing!! The store is crowded, half the people without a mask, no one socially distancing, displays everywhere so as you can't stay out of anyone's way. I feel like I'm a magnet for assholes who don't know how to distance. read more

I have been coming to Ace for years, as a business owner myself I appreciate everyone I deal with, we have over the years we have referred clients to each other and it is nice to know a business who will do that. For the most part whatever I need for my daily operations I can always fine in Ace. read more

I went here to fill the propane tank. The guy by the tank said to go pay first. I paid and then went to fill the tank. He said it did not need $20 worth, so go get a refund. What a pain in the butt system going back and forth between the fill station and the register. Why can't you fill it first and give be a bill to pay at the register? Morons read more

For a small store they always have what we need. They often have items we can't find at Lowe's or Home Depot. The staff is always extremely friendly and helpful. Highly recommend. read more

We love this store. It doesn't matter what you are looking for they will have it. I love the bins and bins of items. Just like the good ole days when you visited a hardware store. Doesn't take long for someone to walk up and ask if they can help. Next time you find yourself needing that special hardware item, make this the first stop. read more

I'll never waste time searching the aisles at a big-box retailer for hardware again!! Morton's Ace Hardware has more choices than Wal-Mart, and more knowledge than Home Depot. I was in and out with 2 keys made, 2 questions answered, and 2 solutions purchased...all in 6 minutes - try that at a big-box. Always great service. I have never felt alone or without help in this store. A great plus is the store is not cluttered with aisles and aisles of other things. Why would anyone go to another mart type store? Everything you can possibly need is available here. These people have been operating with the same manager for as long as I could know, and he is always friendly. They closed after the hurricane took them down, but returned and do they ever serve the local community! I always look forward to coming to Morton's Ace Hardware.
