I dropped it off and explained clearly that I didn't want to put a lot of money into repairs, if it was too expensive, I'd just buy a new mower. I also asked if they could check on warranty coverage or if welding was an option. They are a Toro dealer. After not hearing back a few days, I called and was told they had done a "full diagnostic" and that repairs would cost $375 on a mower that cost $500 new. On top of that, they charged me $50 just to tell me the mower wasn't worth fixing. The entire assessment took seconds, no actual work was done, and at no point was I told there would be a fee. If I had known, I would never have authorized it. Instead, I was blindsided with a charge for information I already suspected: that it wasn't worth repairing. I caution any one for going to this place. They do not care about their customers and I will NEVER go back there. This was one of the dumbest business decisions to fleece me for 50 bucks. I will tell everyone I know not to go to this place.

If I wanted purchased a new McLane edger comparable to this one, I'd have spent $700. It's easy to buy new at those big box stores but it's more satisfying to to go to a local shop like this and save a few bucks They also have a full line of Stihl equipment and accessories not to mention a vast selection of parts for most types of outdoor equipment including tires of all types and sizes. 4 Star actually gets 5 stars for great service, and knowing they'll probably have the part your looking for.
