It is a very well kept course with very highly maintained greens that you can tell is a definite gem compared to the other courses around the area and is very well priced for the yardage seeing how normally short nine holers would be the same price. The gold attendant was a little rude when we were there when we walked on without calling to reserve on a Friday and we think he just was doing it more because he was annoyed at us but other than that little hiccup, definitely check this little place out. I also lived that other golfers were not right on top of us giving amateurs like me the heeby jeebies with people watching my hook or slice. Again check it out and clubhouse is great and wide open overlooking the 10th and the 18th holes.

We went to check it out and had a meal there and spent the night, and we were positive. Over the course of the next year, Linda Boyer worked with us tirelessly, making every step fun and exciting. The weekend of the wedding was absolutely perfect. We started with yoga on the patio of the carriage house. What a beautiful way to start a busy day! We had Skydivers jump to land to surprise our guests, which was definitely a logistics challenge! The staff kept it a secret, and it was a smashing success! The ceremony site was out of a fairytale. The cocktail hour in the carriage house was definitely a hit! And then the reception in the event tent... I can't really find the words... The service was flawless, the food was even better than we remembered from our first visit... Magical really sums it up. All of the staff were responsive and helpful as 40 rooms of our guests checked in. The breakfast buffet was outstanding. The veranda and public spaces in the lobby are so warm and inviting, and family that haven't seen each other in many years were able to sit and visit comfortably. We highly recommend Eagle Mountain House to any couple looking to get married in a fairytale.

Stained glass windows, creaky floors, real keys and locks for the room doors, the beautiful old elevator, antique knickknacks and signs everywhere. It was time travel in a beautiful old lady of the mountains. The good; still have the real keys for the room doors. Removing the old lobby rug to expose the beautiful wide board floor, the updates to the dining room do look very nice and plush, although I missed many of the old, wooden signs that used to adorn the walls. The bar looks new and refreshed, with excellent service. The bad; what amounts to white washing the first level of the beautiful old staircase by removing the old, dark stain and varnish, and replacing the stained glass window favor of a plain, square sheet of glass. Changing the old library off the main lobby to turn it more into a meeting room. It has had all of it's book shelves, books and games removed. The old brick fireplace in the lobby is still there, albeit painted black. The main part of my rating of only three stars has to be the dining. The food has definitely taken a turn for the worse. You could always count on great meal in the restaurant, whether there were 3 people eating, or 300. Starting with an awesome breakfast buffet, and ending with a very pleasant dining experience, the food was always top notch. Now, the breakfast buffet has been replaced with a fixed menu, with the quality of food being only so-so, and delivered cold. The dinner was, at best, mediocre, with a so-called rib eye steak served that was over 50% fat and gristle, tougher than nails. Fix the food issue. Bring back the breakfast buffet and the old chef. Make the old library a library again, and you will be well on your way to getting 4 and five star ratings again

I heard they reconfigured a hole or two, took out some trees and spruced up the place a bit. And I got to admit that 2/3rds of the greens were in good shape. I got to say however, that will probably the last time I'll play the course. You want to go hit the ball around in a cow pasture like atmosphere, with absolutely no, none, rememberable holes. 12 has the best view only because it is elevated. $76/78 with cart ,can't remember exact amount, but I came away feeling like I would have had a better time in a simulator. Nothing redeeming except Steve the starter ( good guy ) and the cart guys ( super people/ great attitudes). Oh the guy at the desk: at the turn, bought a gator aide for my buddy, he went to change it for Water.. the desk guy charged him another $1.50 for the water instead of doing a straight swap.... Nail in the coffin for me... Oh their charging $100 on the 4th weekend ( bad decision ).. Nope! not again for me..

No signage to…read moreshow you where the next hole is, gravel in the bunkers and goose crap everywhere from the hundreds of geese roaming the property. $35 for 9 holes and by the way "we have no pull carts available". No break on the $24 cart fee. It looks like thy have decided to run it into the ground since Owls Nest purchased the course.

We started going there last fall. We went every weekend until they closed. I really enjoy the…read morerange. They have plenty of mats and everything is in great shape. The owner is very nice and friendly. He offers hitting advice and is pleasant to talk to. The tote challenge is fun and we always walk away with a couple tokens. My only complaint is the putting green. It is astro-turf style grass and it doesn't have true roll. Still works well for short putts. I recommend giving it a try. Heading there today to get started with this season.

He was right in that I should not have hot off the grass, but I was hitting a driver off a tee and not obviously taking a divot. The issue was his attitude. He was rude, condescending and told me to leave if I didn't like it. Very bad experience and he could have shown more patience and try not to show off what a BIG man he was when he started yelling at me. I had been going on average 1 1/2 times a week. I won't be going back.

I grew up in New England but my kids did not. Now my kids have a summer pass at Lucky Strike - all automated - and they go nearly every day all summer long. They're pretty good bowlers. But candlepin is a whole new ballgame. It's both easier and harder and my kids had a blast! Not to mention we got our scores printed out on an old fashioned dot matrix printer. It was $84 for two rounds of bowling for 7 of us. Not bad!
