But I also think honest experiences help both future customers and the business itself, so I'll simply share what happened and let others make their own decision. I arrived shortly after their posted opening time, only to find a note saying they'd be back later. When I called, I learned the piercer wouldn't arrive until 1pm due to a personal commitment. I gave grace and returned. The piercing itself was quick, with some small talk about Seattle, and I mentioned that I hadn't been pierced in 20+ years due to keloiding, so I was nervous and wanted to make sure things were done carefully. I paid, received a basic aftercare sheet, and headed home. Later that evening, the front of my flat-back earring fell out and the back was hanging loosely. I eventually managed to get the flat back post in the front just to keep the piercing from closing and I called about 8p after closing and left a message for guidance but never received a call back. A different piercer at a jewelry shop explained that flat-back earrings require a slight bend in the post for tension -- something that hadn't been done. It was an easy fix, but disappointing that it was missed, especially since piercings need weeks to heal. There's clearly a lot of history behind this business, but my experience didn't reflect the level of professionalism and follow-up I expected for a $100 service. I personally prefer to go somewhere with more consistency in both technique and aftercare communication.

I used to over-tweeze and generally draw my eyebrows really badly. I also had a hard time know what a good shape was. Ashley not only provided high quality microblading (creating a shape I LOVE), but she taught me how to do a little extra shaping with a pencil when I wanted to. She even gave me her favorite pencil type. I get compliments on my brows all the time. So much so that I have friends from out of state that come to Washington JUST to get their eyebrows done by Ashley. My brows have lasted for many years. I barely need touch ups at this point. Which is honestly a bummer because the studio has great vibes and I love getting to hang with Ashley for a bit. I can't recommend Ashley enough. Just my initial review, since this is my first time at this shop…read more Curtis was so friendly, and helpful and knowledgeable. A fantastic first impression for Stairs Tattoo. At first glance, the shops flash is in frames all over the shop, and it's not the typical boring flash you see at a lot of shops. It's definitely tailored to the abilities of the two artists here. While waiting to speak with Curtis, as he had just finished with another client, he took about 10 - 15 minutes cleaning and sanitizing his station. Makes me feel good about being tattooed at this shop, especially during the current state of the world. Again, this was my initial response to visiting Stairs Tattoo, and I'll have an additional response once I get tattooed by Curtis and Caitlin.

I sent Joey a picture of what I'd like, and he was able to (naturally) easily accommodate. I appreciate that Joey just seems to know how to read your mind when you walk in the door and immediately he could tell I wanted the tattoo to be really small; something he was able to quickly update and ensure proper placement for me. I was recommended this place from a couple friends who had gotten amazing tattoo's done by Ian. I had done research and it looked like Ian had done an incredible job and had a multitude of knowledge on tattoo's, so I figured it would be good to give him a shot. Well, now I have three botched tattoos and one lopsided one. I got five done in total because they were simple, small, fine line ones. And ended up with only one that looked good. I have to get one of the tattoos removed because the line work was so poorly done. When I asked him for a touch up on one, he spent about 5 minutes verbatim telling me how "anal" I was being on wanting touch ups and was very rude towards me. Extremely unprofessional. On top of that, while we were talking during the touch up, I had another tattoo that I had gotten done by another artist that I loved, he and co-worker commented on it and proceeded to tell me how tell me how "bad" my tattoo looked and told me it was going to age very poorly. Even though the artist I went to is known for having incredible tattoos and the tattoo itself looked amazing which I have already had for over five years at this point. Then when I had asked him to touch up and fix my other tattoos he did, I never heard back and followed up twice; even though he claimed there was a 90 day policy for free touch ups. Sadly, you will want to avoid this place. So disappointing because I had very high hopes because of the recommendations I was given and how good their work looked. I can't speak for the other artists, but I just didn't have a good experience with Ian.
