The piercer Jimi is amazing and super nice! He was quick and educational. Another person wanted a specific piercing done and he was back ordered on the jewelry it sounds like the piercing she wanted done also required someone who knew what they were doing to do it. She seemed disappointed but not rude he then said oh wait if your willing to drive 2 blocks there is a supplier there that can sell you want you need If you bring it back I'll do it! He called the shop and told the guy what they needed and was even offered a discount for it! I asked him how much to get my nose pierced and he said $40 offered to do it right then took about 5 minutes and I was done! He was very pleasant and told me I had a great aura about me and was very personable! He offers special sometimes and uses greater sterilizing techniques. I also got my 2nd tattoo done there as well by Brian. The 1st one I got on my foot. I have an autoimmune disease so sitting for long periods of time isn't good for me and my foot was in pain a bit from it so I rescheduled to do the shading later and Brian was so patient with me. Then I came in for a tattoo on my forearm which is beautiful I love it and how it turned out and can't wait to add more to it in the future! My son was tattooed by Spidey 1st on his 60$ Friday specials as a walk in - spidey offered to do the 2nd one my son wanted as well but my son decided to hold off until he was sure what he was doing with his arm. this is the worst tattoo i've ever gotten. I came here in august of 2023 for a walk in to get my first professional tattoo. it was a matching tattoo with my friend and the guy who did my tattoo forgot to dot the "i" in the word kiss. not only that but it healed horribly. i have tattoos that i did myself at 17 years old that healed better than this. it's looked like this since it healed and has only gotten worse. i was also freshly 18 and wearing a mini skirt. when i sat down on the chair i asked if i could lay down or if he wanted me to sit sideways on the chair and the guy doing the tattoo told me to stay where i was, halfway through the tattoo i realized he could see up my skirt the whole time. i hate leaving bad reviews on places so i put it off but i have to live with this tattoo forever and i hate it. read more

After walking in Christopher (who failed to mention he was only a few days into the tattoo industry after taking a break for a long while) sat us down & got to work. We agreed to take the parts of the rainbow that went through spongebob OUT of the tattoo itself & after looking at the final product that isn't what he did. He shaded, he did what he wanted to & even after calling and being kind about me not liking my service, he argued with me & told me "I have the stencil right in front of me, I know what I did". The pictures speak for himself. The line work is dogshit, the shading is dogshit & if anyone needs a good tatoo artist, go to Jeffery at Old Trolley Tattoo, not this fucking shit hole. His customer care was great, asking me how I'm doing and keeping the conversation going so I stay distracted. He let me take a break after the painful area for me (my wrist ). We were walk in's a few weeks ago and were told they could take us right in. There were four of us all wanting similar friendship tattoos, all rather small, and rather simple. We were told they could get us in, so we signed the forms and waited for the lady behind the counter to print out the tattoo. The first two of us went back and it went pretty quick, then I followed and showed her where to put it and we started a rather good conversation. I learned from her owner went on vacation a few months ago and all the sudden she could tattoo customers on her own. Trust me, my tattoo shows it. The color is terrible, isn't close to lines, and my wife's tattoo was infected for a week and a half. I will be having a reputable tattoo artist fix mine and my wife's in a few months. I came in here with my family to get tattoos on Friday March 3rd, 2023. Want to start off by saying that the guy working reception was very patient with my family as we changed our minds a couple of times while we were waiting to get our tattoos during the flash Friday. However, I will say that we asked him if we could go in the order that an artist became available, that we didn't need to all wait for the same artist to do all of our tattoos, we wanted to get in and out and that didn't happen. Instead, when the next artist became available, he let the next group get started, making our wait even longer than it already was. Second, i had decided I wanted to get my tattoo in color and was willing to pay the extra $20 for it. No shading, just a simple solid tattoo. Joel was the artist who was going to do my tattoo, because he said he was the only one in the shop who does chest tattoos. Joel didn't want to do color and tried to talk me out of it because he said my skin doesn't hold color... although he was basing that off of looking at a 12 year old tattoo, that to me still looks very vibrant. Anyways, he decided he was comfortable to do color I think out of fear of losing business for the day, since it was flash Friday. I waited a couple hours before cleaning my tattoo and treating it, as Joel instructed. The next morning I woke up and my chest was in severe pain and started turning red. I wasn't sure what was happening. I knew that I got the tattoo on a tender spot on my sternum so I wasn't sure if it was bruising or just sensitive. A few days later, the ink completely started coming out of the tattoo. It didn't hold in several places I had sent a message to Joel with a picture, and he reacted to it with a , which obviously didn't make me feel very great where as I am genuinely concerned with what's going on with my tattoo, I consulted with one of my friends who is a tattoo artist in Los Angeles and he told me that it doesn't look infected and to just keep taking care of it, that it can get touched up later. That still wasn't enough for me because of how much pain I was in so I decided to go back into the shop and speak to an artist at Pacific Avenue. I spoke to an artist I believe by the name of Kanada, who looked at it and told me it doesn't look infected and that it just needed a little bit more time to heal, and that I could come back in for touchups. I reached out to Joel this morning to ask him what kind of ink was used on my tattoo because I think I'm having an allergic reaction to it. He responded saying that I wasn't properly taking care of my tattoo, and that it was infected. I asked him again to just please tell me what the ink that he used was so that I can go to the doctor. He then agrees that I'm probably having an allergic reaction to the ink only moments after telling me that it was infected due to improper care. And then tells me that he used ink from the shop and not his own ink that he doesn't use his own ink when tattooing in this shop. She admitted that the ink that he used has been known to have allergic reactions and that he has had somebody have an allergic reaction to the ink that he used on me. He also told me that when he's not tattooing in the shop, he uses a higher quality ink than the one he used on me. Overall I am very disappointed and dissatisfied with my experience here and won't ever be returning. If joel holds himself and his work to a higher standard when he isn't working in this shop, I want to know why he even bothers tattooing here, if he doesn't intend to put the same quality of work that he would put into his personal studio, into his work at pacific avenue. From my experience, Joel isn't a very quality artist and i would recommend to anyone going there to try to go with a different artist. I won't even get into my sisters experience. My mom and my aunt decided to go somewhere else for their tattoos. read more

The precision of his line work is spot on, and he took a lot of care to to be that precise, which is what you want since you're going to live with his artwork on your body for the rest of your life. Worst experience I've ever had at any business. I asked For the numbers "12" and "34" to be tattooed on each pointer finger and my tattoo artist tattooed the number 1 BACKWARDS AFTER SHE PUT THE STENCIL ON. How that happens is beyond me. Then when I mentioned it, she said "oh yeah" and didn't apologize. She then told me that I would have to come back for a touch up after making the "1" much thicker than all other number. Yikes, yikes, yikes. Went in just to see if I could find an artist who could tattoo in the style I was looking for. First off the lady who's the manager or owner is a but pushy it felt like going into a comissioned sales place I let her know I was just in planning stages and she kept asking which artist would be done soon to get me going (no way, this isn't my first rodeo I grew up in high quality tat shops and this isn't it!), most of the artists need to still be apprenticing and I don't feel should be inking anyone just based on the work I saw in those portfolios. I think Mr. Tops is probably the best artist there and that isn't saying much as the work is inconsistent, a problem I saw in every artists work I've reviewed online and in their portfolio is: wonky faces, poor line work, problems keeping proportions correct, color saturation problems etc. This isn't meant to be hurtful but I would not go here if you are looking for quality, at least not until these artists really brush up on their skills... read more

I came here for my first tattoo, and had a pretty good experience with my artist. So I figured I should go back for their $40 tattoo Friday. Although I was very disappointed coming back again mainly because of the new woman who works at the front desk. My group of friends and I all wrote our name and numbers down on the list, and then were told the wait wasn't long so we sat down & signed the agreement form. I hadn't eaten anything all day & knew it was a bad idea to get a tattoo on an empty stomach so I asked the lady at the front if it was okay we leave & come back to get food. She said it was fine bc it wasn't busy & she wasn't texting the number on the list. When my friends and I got back she yelled at us, asking us what our names were & where we were even though I told her we were leaving. She rushed me as I was explaining my tattoo design, and she kept glaring at me and being really pushy & rude. Her behavior towards me & many other people there was completely unacceptable. I don't blame any of the tattoo artists & I know it must get busy, but all I ask for it a little human decency!!
