WARNING: Exercise Extreme Caution with Moses Dealerships I feel compelled to share my deeply disappointing experience with Moses Dealerships, particularly Moses Downtown, to protect other potential buyers. What I believed was a reputable West Virginia dealership proved to be anything but trustworthy. My daughter, in search of a reliable vehicle to replace her problematic Subaru, found what appeared to be the perfect car - a white 2015 Toyota RAV4. The vehicle seemed immaculate: one owner, only 31,000 miles, and a clean Carfax report. Our salesperson, Cameron, showed us a vehicle that appeared to be in pristine condition and drove beautifully. We told the dealership multiple times why we were buying a new car - because her current one was so unreliable and costly with all its problems and recalls. They reassured us this car would be a reliable one. This was her first car purchase and her first car loan, so already she was extremely nervous. However, just SIX days after purchase and financing through the dealership, the nightmare began. The paint began peeling off - a serious issue that we later discovered was subject to an open recall, information the dealership conveniently failed to disclose to us. The car will eventually lose all of its paint due to the recall - leaving it with zero value The timing is particularly suspicious given that the vehicle had been traded in merely two weeks before our purchase, it seems highly likely the dealership was aware of the paint issue, attempted a quick fix, and deliberately sold it without disclosure. When confronted, Meredith, the head sales manager, told me the executive Moses Group refused to offer any type of compensation. This dealership appears to prey on first-time buyers. We explained that my daughter had to drive 6.5 hours to come purchase the car, take off work, and her credit dropped 50 points from the dealership running a hard check. This dealership offered no remorse. I urge all potential car buyers to avoid Moses Dealerships. This experience has been incredibly stressful and disappointing, and I feel obligated to post this warning every month to prevent others from falling victim to similar practices. Horrible dealership. Went to purchase a vehicle last Thursday. Could not get help - bunch of guys sitting around in one office goofing off - I was standing right in front of the office. Didn't get help till Mgt came in the door and ask if I had been helped. Made a deal with a salesman on Thursday. Asked him to send me the breakdown of fees- taxes, tags and all that so I could bring cash for that. I live 2.5 hrs away from the dealership. He didn't send it - I figured he just got busy Thursday afternoon. I messaged early on Friday asking for the breakdown of fees - he sent a message stating they were not going to hold this car forever. I told him I would have been there last night if you had sent me the breakdown of costs. I also stated I could be there that evening if they would just send the breakdown of costs. Instead he send a message saying it was sold. I highly doubt it. I not sure what this guys game was but I would bet he was trying to scam me. Have me drive up there 2.5 hrs and change the prices on me. No thanks. Worst customer service of any car dealership I have ever went to. BE WARNED - if you try to buy here - get everything and I mean EVERYTHING in writing when you first talk to them or they will likely try to scam you ! Ever since COVID, car sales people act like they are the kings and the rest of the world should be thankful to buy a car from them. But I have never experienced such a disinterest until I called this dealer about two used 2021 Tacomas. I reached out through AutoTrader and some gentleman called back. I made an appointment to go there at 3 pm to look at these. He was supposed to have sent a quote and the location to my email but never did. I asked the gentleman who called whom should I asked for and he said " Just ask for manager on duty." So I googled and arrived at the place that was wrong- their new car showroom. So they directed me to the used lot two blocks away and suggested to "ask for Frank". Oh, it took me 45 min to get there from work. Anyhow we are at this other place by 3:05. There was no Frank. And the cars were "in service"!!!!! It would have taken them another 30 minutes to get the car from "service". Why do you make an appointment? Very half poor service. I bought a used Tacoma that day from a dealer near Pittsburgh. It costs me more to ship it but forget this people. read more

These people are the rudest of car dealerships that I have ever been to especially the Sales Managers. With the pandemic going on salespeople and sales managers could care less if you buy a car so they don't try to negotiate at all. There thought process is if you don't buy it someone else will. Took my Tacoma in for a frame inspection was told only the rear half of the frame wasn't covered question there response. To make sure they were just trying to bs me I called Toyota to confirm and what I was told was correct still do not agree or understand there reasoning but it is what is it. This started a case with Toyota, which was closed with out the service manager contacting me which isn't the correct procedure according to Toyota. The service manager lied in his response to the case. I was on the phone with Toyota for two hours this evening try to get answers and was assured I will get a phone call tomorrow. And but the way they left my truck unlocked all day and never once asked if I had anything missing just told me to find another dealership for all my service needs. My fiance & I walked around the lot for half an hour and no one ever came up to us or even asked us to wait. It was a Tuesday afternoon at 5p--and yes, this probably is their busiest time of day, but they have 2 or 3 lots surrounding this one that are also part of the Moses Auto group, why didn't they call & send another salesman? I have had my truck serviced here twice (in the area for work) and I really dislike everything about this service department. I'm accustomed to Toyota's legendary costumer service, this auto group is by far one of the most unfriendly I have encountered. I know not to leave money in my truck when it goes in to get serviced, but really I have not had a penny stolen from any other Toyota dealer, so I was complacent... and of course because I could trust the other service departments I use I did not think to check. But when I when to reach for my toll cash... my money was gone except a single dollar bill and a bit of change. This is the second time I've posted and somehow my first post was deleted. I went in for a simple recall and tire balance. I had an appointment for 7:45 AM. I dropped my truck off the night before so it would be ready for the morning. My truck was checked in at 7:25AM. After several hours, I contacted Toyota. I got no response for 1 1/2 hours. I was then told that the balancing machine had broken down, but it was now working. Without asking me if I had any plans or had to work, they said it was on the balancing machine now. This was after 4 hours. They did not communicate with me prior to see if I had any commitments or work. After seven hours they contacted me to tell me my car truck was ready. I recently bought a used Toyota from Moses 3 mos ago. A few weeks ago I noticed a 'shimmy" in the tires while going 75mph. I took it to Appalachian Tire near my work and I was told they were unable to get the lug nut off rear tires due to a lock that needed a key to remove them. We searched my car everywhere and couldn't find the key. I contacted Moses Toyota and explained the situation and said to come on down and they would match a key to remove the lug nut and replace them with just a regular one that didn't need the key. I drove from downtown Charleston to St. Albans and when I arrived they looked at the lug and after a few attempts explained to me that it wasn't a Toyota lock on the lugs and that they couldn't help me but explained I get someone else to strip it and take it off. I just bought the car and no one noticed the lock or the keys on it and that it wasn't the correct part?! After calling the gentleman who sold it to me said I could get it in at auto place in Dunbar! Now I have to drive to Dunbar and get this fixed. Why couldn't a service center have a tool to strip off a lug nut?? Pretty useless service center and was told by the mechanic in Dunbar that the service center didn't want to deal with it. Not a big ticket thing. I will not buy a car from there again since they can't even get a lug off my tires. USELESS. read more
