This company violates privacy laws. If a neighbor asks to be notified of a neighbor -customer getting sprayed; they are put on their account and emailed along with the customer. They give out email addresses- ( they cc them with your notification)-then they tell you it's a law in IL ( there is NO law in IL that says you have to notify people before spraying ). We even took our neighbor off our account and made a password so they could t call and be notified of spraying, and they still put them on. Not to mention we have an acre of land and are nowhere near our neighbor. Shame on mosquito squad. They don't know the law. They lost a customer-Not my tagalong neighbor As far as the service, it doesn't work. We have tons of mosquitoes. Save your money. Mosquito squad should just refer nosey neighbors to their customer and stay out of it because in ILLINOIS there is NO law!! read more

I was both skeptical and uneasy about signing up for Mosquito Squad (MS) Chicago in Lemont. It seems to good to be true, but I can only hope. 1st I was said to have had fought off the Zika Virus last year during/after a trip to PR. I was attacked on a lagoon wearing big spray. All the bites blistered and I was unable to get out of bed for about 3 weeks other than work. 2nd I have a baby giant schnauzer that seems to be sensitive to something, we are still trying to figure it out, so I was terrified to try the treatment. I didn't want to add anything more to her itchy skin and sensitive stomach. I set up our treatment plan with Brayden. He is a very nice guy even though I initially said I had to think about it bc I was concerned about my dog. He assured me that no one has called in to date with any animal issues and that the owners dog eats the grass (after it drys) and has no issues. After sending MSDS emails and calling my vet, I decide to go ahead with the 8 treatments for the entire summer. Again, Brayden was great, efficient and fast. My first treatment was set for 5/4. On 5/2, I tried calling several times to see if I could or should postpone the treatment. On 5/1, we re sodded our yard and it was suppose to stay wet for 5-7 days. I called and a woman answered and said someone would call back. Someone called back and I was unable to answer at that moment bc I was at work. No message was left, I called back again and had to leave a message, again. There was no way to speak to someone when I called even during office hours. Needless to say, I gave it all the effort I was going too, then figured it's 100% refundable or they can come back out to spray again. MS came out on the 5/4 and sprayed the house. Dave M called about 45 minutes before he was going to arrive which was great! It gave me enough time to close all the windows and take the dog out run her around a little and have her go to the bathroom bc she couldn't be in the grass for a while. He was done by the time I heard the machine until I got to the front windows. Not sure if that's good or bad, yet, lol. He was also a really nice guy and waved to me and the dog through the window. I'm not a fan of my dog barking at people out the window. He waved to and she stopped barking, I found that really nice. He explained everything to me. It has only been 3 days, but the dog doesn't seem affected by the pesticide. Everytime she smashes her nose into the grass she does sneeze, but doesn't seem to have any additional itchy skin so far. I refuse to allow her to eat the grass. The day after the spray, I was bit by 1 mosquito. And then today, there was another mosquito in the yard, but never bit or landed. Up until today our grass has been soaked all morning and all night, so I'm not sure if this had an effect or not. Now it will be every other day for a week. We also live near a canal, so if all I see is 2 mosquitos every 4 days and only get bitten once ... I'd say it's well worth the money (and it's an expensive treatment). We didn't even ask the neighbors to go in on the treatment and widen the barrier bc they would never pay this amount. However, we did leave the sign in front of the house to encourage others. Now one of them is inquiring. I will update further down the road. read more

The science of mosquito abatement is a difficult one and Mosquito Squad is at the top of the game. The staff is extremely professional and responsive to my needs. You'd rather be bitten by an entire swarm of mosquitos than deal with this company - trust me. Their customer service is terrible. If you have a problem, your call will go to an "overflow center" (read: answering service) for someone to call you back. They are overpriced ($105 every two weeks, and that was with a discount), and they will not give you a window of time, so if you want/need to be home when they come, you can't plan for it - you'll need to stay home all day wondering when they might show up. The worst part is that when the owner called me back, he asked me what the problem was but them promptly interrupted me, told me they weren't supposed to come out that day (and then later saw that they were, and admitted his mistake), and finally said he would refund our money since we didn't get service. The next day, instead of a refund, they charged our card for ANOTHER $105. I had to call the "overflow center" again, so they could send another message for someone to call me. When they finally called back, no one at this company had any idea why we got charged again instead of getting a refund. They now say there are two refunds pending. No one seems to be the least bit apologetic, either. For a more pleasant experience than dealing with these people, simply soak yourself in sugar water and step out into your mosquito-filled yard. Absolutely awesome! I have a pond behind my home and while I'm in my yard I don't get a single bite. The moment I go outside my fence I get swarmed. I see other people complaining that the tech is only there for a short time. I don't know about you but I'm paying for results not time in my yard. I don't know if it's not effective in our suburb, but I had to call for a retreatment a week or so after every application. A big positive was they did come out and retreat. The second treatment usually did the trick. However, our last treatment was a few days ago and this weekend we got eaten alive. I called for retreatment and they said no because it's our last treatment of the season. So basically the last payment was a rip-off if we are not being covered the next two+ weeks. Disappointed. Also, priced 3x more than what my neighbors are paying with TruGreen. read more

I'm so pleased with the natural package. I was worried about switching knowing that it was a repellent as opposed to the pesticide that kills, but we've had a successful summer of no mosquitos! The oils also leave it smelling nice great after they treat and I feel better about the dog and kids in the yard. Thomas S. has been doing our applications this year and he is great to talk with and was really responsive and helpful when going over the areas not to treat (the veggie garden) and answering other questions I had. This is going to be long. This is a horribly run company that is completely ineffective. I purchased the three treatments package for the summer of 2018. When I bought the package I scheduled the dates of all three treatments. My first treatment the first week of June was just the ok. Second treatment I had scheduled for July 3, which was the day before I have a massive outdoor pool party and barbecue. It was a disaster. First I had trouble confirming the treatment was even going to be done, as they did not send out a confirmation email as promised. I had to repeatedly call from work to confirm that they in fact we're coming on July 3. My first problem with this company is how horribly the office, scheduling and service is. I finally got through to them and had my treatment on the third of July. Unlike the first treatment, the tech that came to my home on July 3 with here less than two minutes. I caught a glimpse of him spraying the shrub next to my front door for about a millisecond. He spent less than 45 seconds in my backyard. His sprayer did not seem to be spraying product very well. I went out when he was in his truck ready to leave because I was shocked that he was done. he claimed he did a full treatment. At my party on the Fourth of July we were EATEN ALIVE. I called the office the next day and spoke to Mike. I told him my problem and he gave me some nonsense about hatching sequences. It made absolutely no sense at all and I called him out on it. The first treatment I had was after a week of almost solid of rain and we did not have a huge mosquito problem the next day at the party I threw. Mike then told me that the next time he's crew would be out here was on Wednesday, July 11. I informed Mike that I would be taking the day off work to be here when his tech was here to watch what he did and instruct him to spray my shrubs properly like the first tech did in June. Mike confirmed that they would be here on Wednesday, July 11. I took the day off as I told Mike I was going to do and their tech NEVER SHOWED UP! I called first thing in the morning on July 12 and Mike gave me more BS about how yes he in fact DID tell me that they were going to re treat my yard on July 11 but he now sees me on the schedule for Friday, July 13th. Apparently There is no connection between what a sales person will tell you on the phone and the scheduling department which takes matters into their own hands. Not only does this treatment not work but dealing with this company is a nightmare! Avoid them at all cost and do not waste your money with mosquito squad. read more

Our property runs along the DuPage River in the downtown area of Naperville. So mosquitos are rife in the area.... Mosquito Squad has performed two services so far and we have not seen one mosquito to date. We spend days & evenings on our patios and have been mosquito free! Great job Mosquito Squad! We live in Northwest Indiana. We live in the middle of a forest. The bugs are SO bad I can hardly let my dogs outside without getting bit. It's bad. We tried everything. Things that hook up to our hose and spray, Terminix came out for a year, etc. Finally decided to try Mosquito Squad. AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can actually hang out in my backyard without getting bit up!!! I love it!!! Best money I've ever spent!!!!! So....responsive folk -- but makes no difference! We used Mosquito Squad for two out of the past four years, and discovered that the expensive treatment made no difference, and we live in mosquito country near the Forest Preserve. What we learned is that the mosquitoes remain hidden during the day, but come out at night (per usual habit); we experienced no difference between treatment and no treatment. This year our experience has been horrible. Last year the service was impeccable and I recommended them to everyone who like us has a lot of trees and bushes. This year, we have had nothing but problems. From the technician not completely spraying the property, to not showing up on time and now not even giving appointment times. Now that they do not give appointment times, or even windows, the technician shows up at 7:30AM and wakes up the whole house AND our area does not allow any sort of loud noise outside equipment to be in use before 8:00 AM so we are in violation of the noise ordinance. On June 28,2012 I had mosquito squad come out and spray my one acre yard (which was not cheap) for party I was having on June 30th and it DID NOT work at all. As soon as it got dark out the Mosquitos started attacking which put a quick end to the good time my guests were having outside and made them retreat inside. Because there were so many younger children that put a quick end to the party. I was so disappointed after the sell job the company gave me and the reviews I had read. I find it hard to believe that many of the reviews said it worked which makes me think the company themselves wrote them. BEWARE BEFORE YOU ORDER! Update: I wanted to let you know that Mosquito Squad returned my call to them right away and gave me an apology. They refunded my money and said that there were unique circumstances with my yard and offered to come back for free. However at that point I did not need them. I will however try them again for my next 4th of July party. I would change my review of them if I could. read more

What good is summer, if you can't enjoy being outdoors? They're small, bloodthirsty and downright nasty. I finally had enough of the bloodsucking pests to call Mosquito Squad. My initial conversation with Dave had me optimistic that the service might work and allow the family to enjoy summer in our backyard. We anxiously awaited the application of our first service. As others have mentioned, the service is not inexpensive. So, we were assured that if we didn't get the results we expected, we could cancel at any time. So, the service day arrived. We were not home (too bad...we wanted to see the actual process of application) when the spray was applied. We have a fairly large yard, with many trees, shrubs and other areas that make for good mosquito breeding and hiding. So, we came home and of course walked around. Nothing looked unusual, except we didnt't see any mosquitos...yet. Now, fast forward 2 hours later and a torrential thunderstorm/rainstorm drenches our area. The concern was that the effort (and expense) of our treatment just got washed away. I sent Dave an email and he assured me that if we felt that the treatment was not effective, they would return within 10 days and re-apply the treatment at no additional cost. So far, so good. The next day, I decided to sit on the patio for a bit, fully expecting those little buzzards to be hunting for their morning breakfast on my flesh. After all, it rained after the treatment was applied...how effective could it be? Guess what? Not one mosquito came to visit. While I did see 1 or 2 during the course of the day, on a normal day without this treatment, I would have been the one retreating inside. No so on this morning. Now, we only have had one treatment and it has been about 17 days ago. But, I am sitting on my patio writing this review without one single mosquito interrupting the process. At this point in time, we will be a Mosquito Squad customer for the foreseeable future. This company has done what they said. They are easy to deal with (thank you, Dave), they are responsive and the product seems to work (on a side note, my lawn care company also offers a similar treatment, but in talking with them it did not seem like they were in it to win it. It seemed to be a side job for them and we wanted a company who only specializes in zapping these pests. Along with the above comments, that's why we settled on Mosquito Squad.) I was skeptical, I will admit. But after the mosquitoes took over my yard last summer, I was desperate. I had to brush my dogs off before they would come inside, and getting to our cars- really just down the front stairs - nobody was safe. I called the Village. They spray generally, down the street, and if it keeps the mosquitoes out of the yard, great. If not? Too bad, not their problem. I called around. The prices were high, and nobody would guarantee that their product would work in my yard. I don't have a huge yard, but it's relatively empty. Apparently it's difficult to keep mosquitoes out of a yard without a lot of foliage; there's nowhere to spray. My other concern was for the dogs. I hated that they were swarmed by mosquitoes but really, I have a fenced yard for them. I didn't want poison sprayed all over. In my desperation last summer, I called Mosquito Squad. The various options were discussed, including the part about not poisoning my dogs. They guaranteed their sprays. If one didn't work, they would try another. If I wasn't satisfied after the first application, just call back and they would come again, no charge. Really? I thought. No company is THAT good. But they were! The last scheduled spray was late in the season and it got colder than expected and killed the mosquitoes that were left. Instead of coming and spraying (because that's what my contract would have had them do), they offered to wait until spring to respray. My choice. It's a lot of money, I will admit. I don't have a huge budget for things like mosquito spray. But Mosquito Squad does the job. The cost is the reason for the not so perfect score. In this economy it's a toss up. I might just opt to stay inside next year. If you are skeptical that this is from a real customer (I am so cynical that I assume companies post reviews), contact me! The forest preserve didn't help with mosquito abatement and we spend a lot of time outside as long as the wether permits. Not great treatments and company does not trust their own product. I called to get a partial refund as we feel their treatments have been ineffective (despite complaining mid season). I know it's been a wet year and mosquitos have been relentless but we have not been able to sit outside after dusk. For $490 for the season I feel they're priced high for a sub-par product. Would not use again unless you're in the market to throw away money. I even offered for their service manager to come inspect our yard after dark to see how effective their treatments are and he decline. read more

Talked to Vinnie today regarding a quote and purchasing a package. Having little experience with this type of service, I had a number of questions. Vinnie took the time to explain in detail, without getting too technical, what the products they would be using were and what i could expect in erradicating my mosquito problem. I found him to be very well informed and he put my mind at ease when i asked if the products were pet and children friendly, as i was concerned about any toxicity and was informed that after their treatment was applied, the kids and pets would be fine after 30 to 60 minutes after application. I ended up purchasing a seasonal package and am looking forward to my first application. I was going to call around to 2 other providers but after speaking with Vinnie I felt it would be a waste of time to call other providers for a quote. I would highly recommend this company and if I were referring someone, I would recommend they ask for Vinnie. read more

I had spent a lot getting my yard to be aesthetically pleasing, useful for the kids and a great place to enjoy the outdoors but couldn't use it because of all of the mosquitos. Once we had this service spray the first time, we were able to enjoy the yard, even at dusk! Their customer service is extremely professional and fast to reply to any request. Mosquito Squad has allowed me to use my backyard this summer. My home backs to wetlands so you can image to amount of mosquitoes we get. We had tried most everything. Fogging, spraying the lawn & bushes, candles, torches, etc. Mosquito Squad has been our answer. They have truly had an huge impact. Although not inexpensive it works! We had mosquito squad come out to get our yard useable for a graduation party, with the expectation that it would be a one time thing. It worked for the party, but it also made the yard much more enjoyable for my family for the balance of the year(and my wife is always attacked by mosquitos) . We decided to renew for this year and are looking forward to enjoying our yard. The only reason it is not a 5 star review is the fact that they left 3 signs on the lawn, including one the size of an election sign, without asking us! We first used Mosquito Squad of Chicago a few years ago. The service and results were amazing. We highly recommended the company to several people, who also became patrons. However, my most recent experience was horrible. The first "treatment" on June 30 did not work at all. They sent another technician out on July 7 who only sprayed the perimeter of the backyard. Again, the "treatment" did not work. I called and spoke with the manager twice who constantly talked over me but promised to review the technician's camera footage and call me back. He never called. I'M JUST GLAD WE WERE HOME!!! We have a huge yard and the 2 guys were here less than 10 minutes and did not even spray our wooded areas, just basically did the perimeter of our yard. I will say they were accommodating and did the areas they had "overlooked" when we ran out and got them before they left. We had the service last year with very good results and that is why we called them again. But last year's guys were very thorough and spent quite a bit of time spraying for which we credit the great results. read more

We have been using Mosquito Squad for a few years now on our 2+ acre property that is surrounded by woods. I'm pretty sure we are the only ones on the block who do any mosquito abatement, but still, the results are amazing! My ankles used to get chewed up from walking from the front door to my car. Mosquito Squad has eliminated that problem. We are out in the back yard for two or more hours a day and I can't remember the last time I got a mosquito bite. They do not honor the 100% guarantee. It rained 2 hours after they came out to spray. Two weeks later and we have mosquitoes. They will not respray because we are at the end of contract. Will not have them back next year. Also, we had issues when we originally signed up. Owner told me I didn't sign up even though I thought I did. I had a confirmation email and charge on my credit card. He never called back as promised. I finally received an email with a schedule day. Very rude. read more

Typically canceling a service and asking for a pro-rated refund is a nightmare. Not in this case, Rick processed it and refunded it immediately. Really poor customer service! I called just to clarify what time they would be coming out today because in their e-mail the day before they said early morning and did not specify a time. The response was aggressive and the person that I spoke with who I think was the owner did not even let me finish my sentence. He kept talking about how the rain was making it unpredictable. I just wanted to know a time range in the future in order to have someone at my house to let them in to the back yard. We all work and would need to plan. He kept talking about the rain. He finally said that there was no way that he will be able to satisfy what I need and will refund my money. I have been a customer for 3 years. In cases like this it doesn't even matter if the service is good. If I can't communicate what I need and if the owner does not want to try and meet my needs then I will go somewhere else which I have already done! read more
