#13 for 2019 After…read moreshopping in the mall we wanted to stop, rest, eat something wickedly sweet. OB is known for just that with their chocolate. Went up to the counter to place an order. Service was okay. Nothing to brag about. Stay in Australia long enough, you get use to it. Not bad actually. It was a warm day, we decided to sit outside to enjoy what warmth we could get. Many tables were available. Not surprising as it was after the lunch crowd, mid week. The latte here are really good too. As I was enjoying this cup, I was listening to report stating the world demand for coffee outweighs the production. It is predicted in 50 years coffee will be no more. This is a real dilemma for manu Aussies who enjoy coffee. In fact, stand in any corner of the street you sill see a coffee shop within eye sight. In the city it's not uncommon to see 3 to 4. The strawberry chocolate dip was decadent. The chocolate was rich, smooth creamy, not overtly sweet and deliciously good. Dipping the strawberry, it is such a great combination. After the fruit was gone there was still a bit of chocolate left. It was finger lickin' good. Yup, it's not just chicken that can get that phrase. When in the Rouse Hill Mall, and you need a break, have some coffee and chocolate here. Especially the coffee. Before it becomes extinct.

Had dinner somewhere in the shopping centre and decided to have some chocolate goodness to finish off the night. Walked in and it was quite but something about it made it feel more deserted than quite. The tables with filthy dried chocolate and spilled everything all over them. But I got over that and went to order, which to my surprise was reasonably priced compared to max Brenner. Got the waffle and chocolate classic and hot chocolate, was pumped to dig into it on a cold winters night! But it was luke warm and the chocolate was just that as well. The ice cream came with it and tasted like home brand and pretty much just split when my spoon came near it. I would never normally leave half an uneaten waffle lonely on the table..but I had to this time. Instead cradling my hot chocolate which was pretty good but as for everything else..was bit of a let down unfortunately. I wanted to love it but MB will be my choc shop for crisp winters night to come.

Wow $15 for a couple of fried prawns and $10 for a dessert. The special turned out to be a rip off in the end. Each were about $5 over priced. The steak was just ok, I won't bother coming here again. The sushi and Thai places next door are much better value and taste nicer.

FOOD Shared an entree of sea scallops (seared wild north Atlantic sea scallops with cauliflower puree, almond crunch and herbed bellini - $22). These were absolutely lovely. I liked the almond crunch at the bottom of the scallop. Added some extra carby goodness. The cauliflower puree actually tasted more like a mashed potato as well. A great starting dish. http://www.yelp.com.au/biz_photos/QE6DLVIYmz0XIgdW-xuWOQ?select=ZyAM-2kE0NI4t9uMH1C-Ig We went with a surf and turf combo for the mains. Zuppa Di Pesce (hot pot of king prawns, calamari, fillet of fish, black mussels and balmain bug in a napolatan sauce with a hint of chili servied with linguine pasta - $38) and the Lamb Loin (rosemary and garlic marinated lamb loin on a fetta and roasted vegetable terrine and glaxed with a rosemary infused jus - $36). http://www.yelp.com.au/biz_photos/QE6DLVIYmz0XIgdW-xuWOQ?select=m1MboT0_0EBtCyEXaaIZ7g#m1MboT0_0EBtCyEXaaIZ7g http://www.yelp.com.au/biz_photos/QE6DLVIYmz0XIgdW-xuWOQ?select=ZVHfCsNN0rwpMoc6vZWivA#ZVHfCsNN0rwpMoc6vZWivA I'm usually a very indecisive person but the Zuppa Di Pesce immediately stood out to me. A very full on dish that would leave anyone stuffed. There was a very generous portion of seafood sitting on a base of linguine. If anything I think I would have wanted the 'hint of chili' to have been a bit more than just a hint to add a bit of power to the dish. The lamb was was nicely cooked and soft. However I wasn't a fan of the terrine. It was a strange mix with the lamb. SERVICE When I handed over the credit card the waiter said "thank you senor". ??? Either I have a hearing problem or he was smart enough to know that it wasn't my name on the credit card. Friendly waitstaff who thanked us for coming with their thick Italian accents in unison when we left. OVERALL Nice place, nice vibe, nice food.

Weather was predicted to dump all day but just as we approached Dural.... BAM!! Hello rain. But once we made it to the cafe, the cute outdoor seating was drenched. However inside was super cozy and the perfect place to hit out with a coffee. The kitchen was closed when we made it but a second wind for a second lunch totally could have happened. The burger sounded aahhhmazang!! The treat skim piccolo and a cheeky brownie totally hit the spot and the day was a success! The coffee was soooo good! I'm no coffee connoisseur but that cup was so smooth with some surprising character to compliment. (I'll get better with my coffee descriptions lol) They were using 5 senses beans and I'm always a fan of them I'm coming back for that burger!!

However, for me this place wasn't that special - in a nut shell, it is expensive and you really don't get what you pay for. Every dish has to have some 'exotic' ingredient to justify the price, but I'm sorry, still not worth it. Don't misunderstand me, the food is good if you are willing to pay for it. But I think the most disappointing thing was the coffee, it was weak and quite average. And I came here in the morning, which is my spiritual coffee time! And instead of reaching self-enlightenment with my cup of coffee, I just got woken up. Specifically, as after eating here, I made sure that I drove past the Baron to get a real cup of coffee. I know that I am being harsh, but when you are paying $30+ for a breakfast and coffee I except a bit more. And sadly I don't think I got it.
