Well, she sure was right. Pull in slots and you pull right up to the water. They have boat slips and many sites you can have your bot right in front or on side of your RV. They do not allow tents. The woman who helped me during several phone calls asking for info could not have been more helpful or friendly ! I finally met her to reserve my same site for next years Labor Day because they book up quick (they only have 5 'ultimate' sites, I can't speak on availability on other sites. A quick 5 minute walk and you are over at the Nauti Parrot dock bar which has good food, good drinks, and live music. The only downside is the pool is *very* small. And was full both times we went to go and opted not to. Glass is not allowed but with all the people with Dixie cups / coolers and kids I didn't feel being that crowded in a small-ish pool.

The resort is just beautiful, it's surrounded by water on three sides and the view out our RV window was breathtaking. The pool, grounds and restrooms were always meticulously kept clean. I can't start saying enough good things about the staff, Stephanie (the resort manager), Denise (the office supervisor) and Gary and Kevin (the hardest working men I've ever met) pour their hearts and souls out to make sure your visit is a pleasant experience. We travel a lot and have stayed in many places but this one beats them all. I have to take two injections twice a month for an illness I have. It's shipped on ice and has to be kept cold. I notified Stephanie that it would be arriving the following day. The next morning I had a knock on my RV door, when I opened it Gary handed me my medicine. To me that goes beyond great customer service, it shows they truly care about their guest. Don't let me forget to mention the little tractor. If you don't want to back your travel trailer Gary or Kevin will put it in your spot with the tractor and not leave until you are 100% satisfied that it's exactly where you want it and it's level. In my opinion this is the best RV Resort in the Fort Myers and Sanibel area.

There is a huge, FREE parking lot (being from the Boston area I'm not used to free parking!). The bathrooms are located way at the end of the marina, by the gift shop. There is also a shower stall in there! We saw lots of pelicans hanging out at the marina.

What was supposed to be a fun family day on the water with my husband and daughter turned into a…read morestressful and potentially dangerous experience. The boat was poorly maintained and clearly not in the condition we expected for a rental. The Bimini top was broken and appeared to be held together with deteriorated glue/epoxy. It repeatedly collapsed while we were on the water, and one of the collapses hit me directly in the head. This is completely unacceptable and could have resulted in a serious injury. The fuel situation was just as concerning. While the boat was sitting at idle, the fuel gauge went from showing FULL to showing only 1/4 tank. Because the gauge was clearly unreliable, we had no way of knowing how much fuel we actually had. We were not willing to risk getting stranded on the water with our daughter, so we had no choice but to cut our trip short. A rental company has a responsibility to provide equipment that is safe, properly maintained, and in working condition. A broken Bimini held together with deteriorating material and a malfunctioning fuel gauge are not minor inconveniences--they are safety issues. We paid for a day on the water and instead spent the day worrying about whether the boat was safe and whether we would make it back without running out of fuel. Very disappointing experience. We would absolutely never rent from this company again even with them giving us a 20% discount. Renter beware. Inspect everything carefully before leaving the dock, and don't assume the boat is properly maintained just because it's available for rent.

We checked in at the Ding Darling visitor center. The friendly attendant at the counter informed us the guide/driver is ready for us and to meet her at the tram. We were also given binoculars that were free to borrow with a credit card on hold (we would get charged if we lose them). We boarded the tram about 15 minutes before the tour. The whole tram was full, and every seat was taken, including the front seat in the truck pulling the tram. Kathy, our guide/driver introduced us to the tour and informed potential animals we would see. We were all informed to let her know if we see any potential animals so she can slow down the tram when needed. When we went to the park, we saw various animals including many types of birds, fishes, manatees, and even iguanas. The whole tour lasted about 90 minutes, with a small 10 break to walk and view the observation tower. Kathy did an excellent job explaining about the park, the types of plants and animals, and how the park was affected by the hurricane and other things. She also answered any questions that the guests had. She drove very safely, being cautious of the other vehicles and pedestrians at the park. We were also informed that we could walk around the park after the tour. However, we decided it was too hot to walk a couple miles and left after the tour. The visitor center looked to be undergoing renovations, but the gift shop was open. We bought a shirt that was on sale. The bathrooms were clean and even had information about the various animals we could see. We were also given a brochure as well before the tour. For the price paid, this was a great value. We did get to see various types of animals, plants, and birds. Our guide/driver was friendly, informative, and cautious. Even though the hurricane did some damage to the park, the repairs looked nice and great to see the various wildlife coming back to the park. This was a wonderful tour and a must do when visiting Sanibel Island.
