Stayed here for 24 days during a work trip. The hotel is smaller compared to Stagecoach, but still comfortable overall. The beds are decent, and while the towels are slightly plush, some can feel a bit rough. Housekeeping comes every 3 days, which was fine for my stay. The room includes a small desk and only a basic soap bar--so you may want to bring your own toiletries. Stayed mid-week in the middle of April 2025, 2 adults, 1 teen, and a dog. Definitely one of the better Motel 6's I've stayed at. The only noise I heard outside of my room was an occasional door slamming shut in a nearby room. The place wasn't busy, so I could have just been lucky about the low noise level. The hotel was clean including the elevator and stairwell. There was a strong smell of cleaners in the common areas, but not too much in the room (which I appreciate). The beds were average comfort (not bad by any means, but not great). The room had vinyl floors (big reason I like Motel 6), a decent sized shower tub, a mini-fridge with a freezer shelf inside, a microwave, good air conditioning, a sliding window, blackout curtains, and 1 chair. The TV was rather small for the room (maybe 32"), no closet, no dresser drawers, there's a short clothes rack on the wall with a few hangers, plenty of shelf space to store clothes, no iron, no coffee maker, and no facial tissue. They provide standard toilet paper, bar soap, ice bucket with liner bag, plenty of clean towels, and disposable plastic cups. The town is great and I will be staying here again on my next trip to Death Valley. Ryolite ghost town is really cool (definitely more to it than you see in online videos). The burros roaming the town are very charming. My dog enjoyed the local park. Food options are good (I had Mel's diner, Smokin J's BBQ, and Happy Burro Chili). What really won me over was the people of this town. The locals are very friendly and willing to help if you're in need. After off-roading the previous day in Death Valley, my truck decided to have a pretty nasty suspension failure when I was leaving the next morning. The nearest towing service in Amargosa was booked for the day and couldn't help till the next day. Locals seen my situation and came to the rescue with the tools I didn't have on hand and helped to get me back on the road. I was able to drive home with no tow or expensive repair bill. After trying a couple of local motels with no luck (one of them didn't even answer the phone), Motel 6 came through with a room. I thought the walls were a little thin but nothing woke me once I fell asleep, so that must mean people were respectful with noise after hours. (Caution, room doors slam if you don't close them by hand.) Room was clean, typically appointed for a Motel 6 (no shampoo, no fridge). It's basic. I didn't have any cleanliness issues, even double-checking after reading some of the reviews. No bugs. Smoke smell near the elevator/stairs, but not in my room. Note: This place feels anti-mask. The front desk worker put one on when doing my reservation, but otherwise didn't have one on, including dealing with other people or even walking through the hotel. That was really unacceptable. I know Motel 6 won't read this review, so I won't bother with additional details, but just don't expect greatness in that regard. Note 2: As someone else noted, no tissues. I used toilet paper. My friend and I checked in on Saturday around 7pm, the girl at the front desk did not see our reservations. We booked it a month ago and we showed her the confirmation. She said there was only one queen bed smoking but we had booked 2 full beds non-smoking. She looked in the system and was frustrated and mumbled the ' f' word to herself. So unprofessional! then she finally says there is one smoking room with 2 full beds. The room was clean, very basic, you get only soap, no shampoos etc no hair dryer, no fridge or microwave. The bed was comfortable at least. The next day we came back, as we had two nights, we walked into our room and the key fob was flashing red but it opened and we saw someone else's things in the room. We went downstairs and the girls says they moved our stuff into another room, a queen bed smoking room. We were angry, how could they touch our personal stuff!! the irl says we only booked one night. I told her to call the manager and my friend told the manager the situation. After a long time, they gave us room and a gift card, don't know what's the gift card is. There was no apology, the girl had an attitude. We were so un impress with their customer service and how they don't have our reservation in their system is unreal and to touch our personal stuff is unheard of! read more

This hotel is not bad at all considering the low price on a sold out weekend during Spring break and the limited lodging options near Death Valley. We arrived past midnight and I called in advance to make sure they didn't give my rooms away. The front desk guy wasn't the friendliest but did the job. When asked for wifi, he said it was $5 but has not had any luck making it work that day. Skipped. To my surprise, the room was a pretty good size, with wood floors and updated bedding and bathroom sink. If you looked at the bathroom in detail, you would find some less than squeaky clean spots but I wasn't expecting much so decided to just ignore those. They provide you with soap but not shampoo or conditioner so bring your own! There was free coffee in the lobby and there was also a Denny's and convenience store right across. There were also coin operated laundry machines on my floor. Plenty of free parking and you can see the sign from far ahead on the freeway. Bare bones motel at a decent price. This was the cheapest motel closest to Death Valley that I could find, and it did the job. The place was clearly recently renovated, which is a plus. I liked the modern design touches in the rooms, especially in the bathroom. Pay extra for some questionably slow wifi. No continental breakfast (but there is free coffee). Barely any niceties in the room. On the plus side, you get a clean room and close access to the few points of interest that Beatty has to offer, including a casino, a Denny's (inside the casino) and a candy and ice cream store with some kid's face on it. And more importantly, a short drive to Death Valley. read more

My husband and I are traveling from Arizona, moving to Seattle, WA. We have 2 dogs with us and decided to book a room at 3am. The staff was amazing, great with helping to book while we kept losing service through the mountains. I would recommend booking a room with the night staff. Great job. read more

At 2:00 AM someone slammed door next room, I woke up with its excessive noise and its A/C compressor unit went off with loud noise. I smelled the odor of cigarette smoke from A/C duct and it almost choked me. I could not sleep any longer and turned the light on, found a live roach crawling on floor. That's it! I am not going to spend any minute of my life in this dirty room and checked out. The most interesting part of it is, the night clerk would not make any comment after I complained about what had happened in the room as if this is a common thing to that Motel 6. I am downgrading my rating as this Motel 6 property continues to decline over time. The greatest improvement required is the option for room cleaning. We stayed four days and nights and noticed that the only rooms cleaned were the rooms where people had checked out. No one even checked to see if our overflowing garbage cans in the room needed to be emptied. Motel 6 needs to go back to the method of having the notice that hangs on a guest's outside door handle that either asks not to be disturbed, or flipping it around and having it request room service. Such a simple thing would work so well and easy for motel staff and guests alike. Come on Motel 6, exercise some common sense operating your establishments! Also, the refrigerator did not work in one of our two rooms, and as always there is no Kleenex offered in any rooms, which we consider and essential amenity at any motel/hotel. read more

I suppose I should give them a high 'C' for cleanliness, but other than that, I WON'T BE STAYING AT MOTEL 6 AGAIN! They DO provide soap, but nothing else in the way of toiletries. Oh, and NO HAIR DRYER in the bathroom! I had to go down 2 floors & across the parking lot ti my vehicle to get my own hair dryer!! They CLAIM to have free wi-fi, but neither me nor my husband could connect our computers. Tried SEVERAL times to call the front desk for assistance, but never could get anyone to answer the phone! (It was only 8pm!) We called the Corporate ofc, but they were ZERO help. Told my husband one of us would hv to go to the front desk in person. GRRRRRR!!! Both of us were already undressed & ready for bed! Glad we're only staying one night!! Let's be clear. This motel was cheap, clean and the staff was friendly. If that's what you need, this is your place. Seriously, it was about $60 out the door, taxes included, and you don't see that very often. But I'm old. I want things. If I'm staying in the desert I want a pool. And maybe not even because I want in the pool, but I want a shady place on property to hang out with my friends after a long drive. They don't have that. They do have an arrangement with the Stagecoach Casino Hotel to use that pool, but that's a couple hundred yards away and you must go beg a pass, and well, that's well less than convenient. I'd like a clock radio in the room so when I wake up at 3 am I can see at a glance that it's 3 am and go back to sleep without having to fire up my phone to check the time. I'd like Kleenex in the bathroom so I don't have to blow my nose on toilet paper. I might have liked shampoo, but I'm bald. I might have wanted a microwave. I didn't, but I might have. My wife wanted a hair dryer, but it's the desert. Just go outside and shake it out, right? She's almost talking to me again. I like a reasonable amount of quiet, but since I had the very front room, 301, that was out of the question. I could count the cubes on every dispense from the ice machine. But way worse was the obnoxious elevator tone. I understand that the ADA requires elevators to emit a tone when they arrive at a floor, but does it have to be 85 decibels? G-C, G-C. And the motor on the elevator door needed a rebuild or some WD-40. Open, close. Open, close. Heard every one of those as well. Sleep after 6 AM was impossible. All that said, it still would have been 3 stars. I mentioned cheap and clean, right? But here's the deal. Desert, hot, getting hotter all day, but no refrigerator. Cold beer, wine, water, blue ice in the freezer for the next day? Nope. Ok, still three stars. I'll cope. Cheap and clean. I'm resourceful. Ice bath in the bathroom sink will solve that. Oh wait. The stopper was defective and the sink would not hold water. And that kicked it down to two stars. read more

This was my first- and hopefully last- stay at a Motel 6 and will go to my hotel history as the worst experience I ever had. We booked this hotel because we weren't able to find a room in one of the hotels in the Death Valley National Park and thought we would only need a clean and quiet room where to sleep peacefully after spending our days hiking and exploring the park. Well, this room was neither clean nor quiet. We arrived very late at night after a strenuous trip and the guy at check in was very per-functionary and could not wait to get back to his smokes and late night movie. As soon as we entered our room, we realized with dismay that the words "clean" and "room" cannot be paired together in this establishment. The room was dirty, the last time somebody swept the floor was probably months ago: there were some unspecified seeds (!!!) and crumbles all over the floor and in the bathroom. The bed was made but the bed sheets were all crumpled and the pillows not adjusted so that we even suspected it had already been slept in and just remade without changing the sheets. The mattress was so old it was sagging to the floor. The bathroom had some hair on the floor, a dead roach on the bathroom light and the towels were all stained. We wanted a room with a view but got one with a bug. The worst part was the toilet seat: it still had the memories of the number two somebody had left in a prior use. Unfortunately the hotel was booked to capacity, we had paid in advance and there was no other place to stay at 3:30 in the morning, otherwise we would have left then and there. I ended up using a box of wet towels I always carry in the car to clean the toilet seat from the lingering number 2 remains. The room is very spartan: you only get one bar of cheap soap (no shampoo), there is no refrigerator (in the desert, really?) and no hair dryer. The walls are so thin you can hear everything that is going on in the adjacent rooms (even the bodily functions after an heavy Mexican meal and love's enthusiastic expressions). The elevator was so loud that every time somebody rode it in the middle of the night we would wake up thinking we heard a gunshot. You can purchase wifi at $5 per day which is very expensive. There is free coffee in the so-called hall, but we did not want to push our luck and dare drink it for fear to catch a disease. During our stay we barely slept and counted the hours to check out. Once home, we washed everything we carried in the room. This hotel should be avoided at all costs. The one star is for Yelp that allows me to write a review, the hotel does not rate any stars and should be in a galaxy far far far away. read more

So this is a Motel 6, pretty much in what is the middle of nowhere. When my husband wanted to stop, my first thought was really? A Motel 6 in the middle of nowhere, that sounded like a recipe for a nightmare, but I could not have been more wrong, and after driving on the next day I am SO glad we stopped because the next few towns were GAH-ROSS!!! This looks like a newer Motel 6, and I guess it is kind of, it is five years old. We got the room for around $50.00, which is the cheapest room we got our whole trip, and honestly besides the Marriott in Las Vegas, the nicest and cleanest! The young man at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. The room had a large clean bathroom, two beds, a tv, and was really nice, especially for Motel 6. This town is very cool and right next to the Motel 6 is one of THE COOLEST shops EVER! It is an ice cream shop, souvenier shop, store, Subway, and candy shop rolled into one. If you can't find what you want here, well you are just impossible to please : ) The candy shop is Death Valley Nut & Candy and honestly the things they sell I had no idea existed. I had a friend say once if they sold just the bananas out of the Runts candy they would buy it..GUESS WHAT??? THEY SELL THEM!!! OMG they do exist!! This little blink of a town has Motel 6, the amazing store I just described, a casino with it's own hotel, and a Denny's. If you are passing by..STOP!!! Bed bugs!!! Without a doubt, caught two of them on the pillow when I woke up! We stayed here August of 2013 and it was a nightmare! When I checked the database for bed bug reports they had it in 2011 as well. It is an issue they did not resolve and I doubt they have since. I was bit from head to toe with over 30 bites. The sheets were bloody when I woke up. The staff did not even check the room or make a report out of it. They just said they'll have someone take a look. read more

Very clean and comfortable. Great location (as good as it gets within Beatty) - easy to walk to the Stagecoach hotel & casino w/ a Denny's, and also easy to walk to the Death Valley Nut & Candy Co. which has a Subway. Bathroom doesn't come with shampoo though, and the bed seemed to have a lot of static electricity. Wifi is $5/day, but wired internet is free and they'll lend you a cable for a $10 deposit, which you get back. read more

We haven't had to stay at a Motel 6 in years, but it's all there was available in this hole of shyte forsaken burg. But then, if it weren't for the fact the Park Service allows its concessionaires to so shamelessly price-gouge for lodgings in Death Valley, there would be no reason for this place to even exist, would there? That said, the young man named Chase who checked us in was a rock star of diplomacy dealing with a lobby full of Chinese-speaking tourists. And since like everything all in Nevada, smoking is allowed. So I guess the place could have reeked of cigarettes. Otherwise, the defining characteristic here is noise. The paper-thin walls make you feel you're sharing a room. The loud-talkers in the hallway may as well be in the room with you. Even the toilet in our room sounded like a jet engine throttling up for takeoff. This place is definitely not recommended for light sleepers. read more

This is a pretty new Motel 6, and I'm sure it's the nicest place to stay in Beatty -- most of the other motels look pretty "vintage." The rooms are small but very clean, particularly the bathrooms! That was a nice surprise. Some of the reviewers here say that "WiFi" is free -- it's not. You can access the Internet free via an Ethernet cable (which they'll loan you) or pay something like $5 for WiFi (no cable required, use a browser password). Still, it was cheaper than what they charge down in Vegas! There is a laundry room available, which is convenient for longer trips. Some watchouts: The amenities are spartan -- no shampoo, not even a phone book or coffee maker. The walls are thin, so bring earplugs, and know that while there are non-smoking rooms, they may be right next to or across the hall from smoking rooms (in other words, there's no designated non-smoking floor). We had to put towels against the crack beneath the door to keep smoke smell from coming in. That said, I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm visiting Death Valley! read more

Never having been to Beatty before, the Motel 6 has a very useful sign towering over the town, so no problems were had in finding it. Car park is roomy with plenty of spaces. We checked in late, but received good customer service, and then took a ride in the noisiest lift in the world (ever so slightly unnerving). Room was clean and well equipped, and although the wifi was extra, it was fast and worthwhile. No breakfast included, but plenty of places to suit all tastes in the town. This is my first time staying Motel 6 so I don't know whether this location represents Motel 6 elsewhere or not. I couldn't find any other accommodations nearby for our trip to Death Valley (last min decision) so I decided to take a risk with Motel 6. But for $75 I paid per night, this was a good place to stay. Better and cleaner than I expected because my expectation was very low. Of course, the walls are thin (when people pass by in the hall, you can hear them), the fan for the bathroom was so loud (my biggest complaint ) like an airplane engine, and the room was small. I wish the bathroom light was available separately without the fan. But again, I want to be fair considering the cheap rate. I don't use any hotel amenities (shampoo, conditioner, lotion, soap) anyway. Upon checking in, I asked the receptionist about a possibility of staying one night vs two that I reserved. She told me to let her know the next morning if I decided to cancel the other night and would refund the money. No hassle. Really???? Good value and it served me. read more

This one I call shenanigans on. Booked this room in the AM and waited for an email confirmation all day. Nothing. But I had a success notification to rely on. When we arrived I was rudely told by a child behind the desk I had a smoking room. I insisted I would never do such a thing. Suddenly the waters parted and I had an e-mail confirming a smoking room. The child said she gave her last nonsmoking room away. "Beside this is what the PC says you picked and it can't be changed." So we took the spartan like room. Her final comment was "Great we're done here." Children in a small town should appreciate their jobs and the fact their elders know how to use Yelp. Over all, next time I'll camp under the stars before I stay in that particular place. read more

I suppose comparing this to other Motel 6 hotels it could rate five stars. But I haven't slept at others. The room and bathroom were clean and relatively quiet. Friendly staff. Bed was comfortable. What you don't get at this chain is alarm clock, coffee maker, pen and paper, fridge or microwave. I would not usually YELP a motel 6 because it's one of those 'you get what you get'. But i did expect that since this was a new(er) motel it would be decent. It was so noisy my boyfriend and i got no sleep for 2 nights. You can hear everything going on in the adjacent rooms as well as the hallway, doors, upstairs and even downstairs. Over the summer I went to visit Death Valley National Park so I stayed at this motel. It is quite close to Death Valley so that was pretty convenient. This place provided a bed, a shower, a bathroom. It is all the basics I needed so I cannot really complain about that. It was overall quite clean. What really turned me off about this motel was the WiFi. I paid the price to have WiFi, which was not really cheap for the really bad WiFi we received in return. It did not even work. It was so slow and overpriced. Also I really did not appreciate the limited food options around this motel but I guess that isn't really the motels fault. It was an average stay with below average WiFi. read more

This place has gone seriously down hill. Used to stay here a couple of times a year, now I will stay at the saddle west next door. Staff was not welcoming, wanted $5 to use wi-fi, no shampoo, no hair dryer, exterior motel door card reader broke allowing anyone to get in, dead roach in bathroom light and overall run down. One of the nicer and safer Motel 6 locations....probably the only one I would even consider. rooms are cheap, spacious and reasonably priced. Their biggest asset is the guy at the front desk...this guy went out of his way to help me...hintto manage ent.this guy needs a raise and a promotion. I left my McBook charger at home and tried to buy one for my trip at Best Buy....not only were they out of stock, but they cost $80! I arrived and was telling the guy I didn't need WiFi cuz I didn't have my charger. He pulls out a box and low and behold he had the exact cord I needed (which is next to impossible as every Apple computers charge is completely different)! Apparently, Motel 6 had what Best Buy couldn't even sell me. Then he googled it to make double certain it was a match! We have stayed there many times and never had a bad experience for a bare bones hotel. read more

Not a bad place to stay. They are pet friendly and inexpensive. As a female traveling alone, I also feel pretty safe. Its well lit and has a quiet atmosphere. They don't have refrigerators (at least not in my room) and the ice machine is on the fritz. The air conditioning doesn't work very well either but considering they are in the middle of nowhere, I can't complain too much. :) read more

Very disappointed. 5 pm and they rented us a room that isn't ready. The manager checked out at 2pm. The clerk was complaining that they are understaffed. Same with the woman on the phone. Doesn't seem well lead. They need new management to square away the deficiencies. read more

Great Motel 6 very close to death Valley. About $75 a night in mid April, excellent Denny's inside the casino nearby.

Reserved a room for two days and on the second day came to our room to find the door wide open with our belongings open to plain view because the front desk had our room listed as a check out on the day were we still had it reversed for our use. Neither the front desk lady or the cleaning lady would take responsibility for the mess up. We had to rent the room for a third day and needed to use the room to address a medical equipment emergency before leaving town approx an hour before check out time but our room key did not work to get into the room. There was no one at the front desk for at least 15 minutes and I was then publicly humiliated trying to get to a public restroom with a line of at least twenty tourists at the gas station next door while my medical equipment leaked all over the front of me. We finally got the desk lady to let me use the employee restroom because she couldn't figure out how to get another room key to work to let me address the problem in private and with dignity. I don't expect a lot from a motel 6, but I do expect to not have my possessions placed in a place to be potentially stolen, or to be locked out of my room during the duration that I had paid for. read more
