I second guessed myself in Booking this motel as the hotel seemed old, but the reviews were what made me book it. The motel was worth it! I showed up late (around 9 pm) so no one was at the office for check-in. BUT they check you in remotely! This threw me off as this was the first time I was checked-in this way. It looks like a Ring camera and you do press the ring button. Someone speaks to you over the camera and obtains your info. Then you are told your room number. You don't have to sign anything or give your card (worked out well for me as I made my reservation through Booking.com). Once in our room I was shocked at how spacious it was! It may look old, but it had everything you need and then some. They provided towels specifically to remove any Death Valley dirt or any makeup. The microwave and fridge were in working order (I say this as sometimes with motels they are not) and they even put a hand sanitizer bottle in the room. We didn't stay around to check out the little town, but it definitely was a wild Wild West type of feel to it. Definitely recommend this motel for the comfort, space and location. BTW there is a great BBQ place down the street.

It NEVER got really cool and we ran the air conditioner on high/auto and set it for 75. It never got to that temp to shut off. So hot all night. Someone else said that this happens all the time and people complain. The lock/key to get us in the room did not work very well. The lady at check-in said it can be a "little" tricky. I had to try about 6-7 times to get in. Fix it! We had our dog and the room was dog friendly. However, there is really no place to walk them without walking through trash and waste in back of the hotel. Where is the pride in this town? We had stayed here before but t has gone down hill fast. No place to walk and eat. Eddie's World breakfast was greasy and slow. They do have an old Denny's in the casino. The bed was comfortable. TV was small and picture was blurry on almost every channel. Motel 6 is next door. Rooms are cleaner but super small.

Our first floor room was clean and comfortable. It had a king size bed with reading lights, a refrigerator, a microwave, and cable TV. The bathroom sink was cracked and lacked a drain plug. The bathroom/shower combo was fine with plenty of hot water though it took a while to get there. Our biggest complaint was the flat pillows and lack of them. The bed was comfortable though. Lastly, the walls were thin but thankfully our neighbors quieted down after a bit. All in all a decent stay for a decent price.

Be inspired by Marta Beckett's murals--a dedicated artist who breathed new life into the walls. Even if you don't stay the night, take a tour and see it for yourself! Plus, this hotel is only 30 minutes from Furnace Creek and is a nice break from camping in the desert at a very affordable price point! In our duplex cottage, we had our own porch area, and inside, a living room (with a sofa fold out bed), a kitchenette area (with a fridge and microwave and coffee maker), a bathroom with a shower, a little washer/dryer laundry machine, and a master bedroom with a closet. We had access to, and used, the 86 degree pool (great after hiking), and there were restaurants and a gift shop and an ice cream shop, and golf facilities. The Oasis is right next door to the Furnace Creek Visitor Center (which we didn't make it to) and the Furnace Creek campground. Super convenient, Super cute, Good food available at the Wild Rose Tavern (which we went to twice), and our cottage neighbors were great. We loved every minute! Staff are super friendly and helpful and we hope to be back.

We had the queen bed deluxe bedroom with balcony in building 800. Room was just ok, but it did the job to keep us cozy and allowed us to rest before each day. Eateries are limited but we ate dinner at the ice cream parlor and wild rose on 2 separate nights. The dinner buffet is $30 per person which we did not try. Last kind words for dinner was always so packed and we did not want to wait. Borax museum on site for us to explore. General store for us to buy some snacks for the kids. That's pretty much it. The spring-fed pool was warm but we only dipped our toes.
