Overwhelmingly disappointing stay. I typically avoid this brand due to repeated disappointment, however, someone else provided my lodging here. At 3:30 PM, our rooms were still not ready for check in and were asked to come back in a couple hours. We finally got checked in to our rooms at 5:30. Typical sterile Motel 6 room with zero amenities. Laminate flooring with paper-thin walls and a barking dog in the room adjacent made for a frustratingly uncomfortable night. Lumpy, uncomfortable bedding, and the bathroom was in desperate need of cleaning and remodeling. Tile grout as well as the toilet is badly stained and appeared unsanitary. The towels have been washed and baked dried so many times they feel like sandpaper when drying your body. I would not recommend staying here with the higher quality options nearby in the same price range. read more

Had it not been after 11p, my tired family and I would have just left! Maybe they changed maid service from the previous reviews...but this was the 10th Motel we've stayed in the last 2 weeks during our vacation-MANY were much older...but there's NO excuse for uncleanliness!!!! Boogers on the wall, folded washcloth with toothpaste on the inside, crumbs on the blankets, smeared dead fly on wall, spills down the side of the box spring cover, crumbs on the chair, mildew on the shower curtain, dead flies, grunge in the corners and dirt on the baseboards, cloudy residue on mirror and faucets, dirty floor in bathrooms, stuff smeared on the walls...just NO excuse-a good total deep clean of every room is on order. This is shear laziness-and something you should NEVER find in a motel/hotel!!! Yuck! And an old French fry on the night stand-OMG. I wasn't expecting the Hilton...just provide your guests a clean room, for goodness sake!!! The front desk guy was accommodating and got us a second room...but upon closer inspection, it was just as bad-many of the above mentioned were in this room, also. The manager told us it was just an "old" motel...no it's not! The 50's Motel in Bozeman rocked and you could eat off their floors! Pull your head out...get a new cleaning staff!!!! Ew AND gross!!! We will NEVER stay here again!!! The Motel 6 in Missoula was fantastic-this one gives this franchise a bad name! The whole night I laid in bed thinking of the Far Side with the guy that gets the bad case of the willies... OH...and the morning coffee in the lobby was cold at 7:30a...the final straw. read more

My wife and I have stayed here a couple of times over the years. We travel with German Shepherd(s) and Motel 6 is a very comfortable option when traveling with pets. This motel 6 is close to the downtown area and its restaurants. Not updated yet, so there is still carpet. We like this Motel since it has fridge (and micro) so we can keep our food cold while traveling. Front desk peeps are always pleasant and helpful here. read more

The staff was very nice and the location of the motel can't be beat since it is within walking distance of downtown. The rooms were nice and had everything we needed. The only complaint I had is that the floors seemed a little dirty. They don't have carpet so I'm sure they're cleaner than most places but I noticed that my socks were dirty after walking around on the floors. They weren't any dirtier than my own house is at times and it would definitely not keep me from staying here again. read more

Tom Bodett needs to turn the light out on this one. We arrived late and tired after a 6 hour drive from WY. The lady at the desk seemed nice at first, then she mentioned that this was the last room that was rented and she would give us 10% off. Huh? 10% off? Then she says that it is being remodeled and they were missing a couple chairs... ok, it's late so, I said all that mattered was that it was clean. She assured me that it was. Then we tried to finish the paperwork. The price seemed a little high, so I went out and got the internet print out. Yep, she had decided not to give me the 10% discount. or maybe I should say that she pretended. to give it to me. I told her that my price was guaranteed on the internet and I expected to get the 10% off. She seemed offended and said, "Well, it is friday night, what do you expect?" After some wrangling, we got the 10% discount and got the kids to bed. IN the morning, we discovered that maid service was probably AWOL for a long time as I counted a few different varieties of hairs in the bathroom. Is it clean if you sweep them all in to one corner? The fire alarm had been removed. Stuff had been stripped out. Ugh. We won't be back and Motel 6 should be ashamed. Oh yeah, the bargain price was 65 before tax, Not even a great deal. read more

The only thing this motel has going for it is the price. First, I didn't feel secure without an extra lock on the door to latch once in the room. We put a chair in front of the door for extra security. Second, the room was lacking comfort with everything looking old and the art missing from the walls (though there were holes and nails for them). The beds were hard with two flat pillows, so I didn't even get a good nights sleep. Third, the bathroom could have used more cleaning with a ring in the toilet and tub. With this experience I doubt I'll be staying in any Motel 6 anywhere. read more

My wife and I were passing through Dillon at 1 am. We were tired and needed a place to stay. We thought that this would be a cheap but good option. The room was just over $60, which, as we found out, was too much for the quality of our room. When we got to our room, the light switch wouldn't work, so we had to walk into a dark room to turn on the lamp. The room smelled a little musty, and I didn't dare take off my socks to walk on the carpet! The shower had a booger stuck to the shower curtain which totally grossed us out. I definitely wasn't the worst place I have ever stayed, but it is a close second. read more

Stayed here twice while my plumbing was down. Typical M6 but clean, comfortable and convenient.

Terrible! Bed & pillows suck, no place to hang towels, no hair dryer, nothing close to walk to eat. Floor was dirty. No fridge or coffee. For the price, not worth it! read more

I've stayed here a couple of times and always been pleased. The prices are very reasonable, the rooms clean and functional, and the staff is friendly and helpful. Only thing better would be for the rooms to have a microwave. Both rooms I've stayed in there have had fridges but no microwaves. read more

If I could give this place less than one star I would. It was my first visit to Dillon Montana and I booked this hotel simply because it was the cheapest and I was here for business so money was a little tight plus I was staying here for 11 nights! Now for the review : the staff seemed nice and that was the only good thing about this motel. I checked in and they made me pay up front which seemed odd considering all the other hotels I've been to you pay at check out. I get into my room and I was more than unsatisfied. The bed felt like a pullout couch and it had a little smell to it but I thought no big deal its just a cheap place. Then I started to get comfortable the next few days and then I started to realize all the bad things. My peephole was broken so they had shoved a piece of tissue in it. There were small holes in the wall and I had no soaps or shampoo. Because I was staying so long they had me sign a paper saying they would only turn out my room on one day, Tuesday. I noticed multiple times that someone had been in my room (none of my belongings were messed with) so I went to the front desk upset and told them I'm not comfortable with anyone entering my room when I signed a paper saying they would only enter Tuesday. And not only did they enter my room when they weren't suppose to they took all of my towels and bath supplies and didn't replace them. Which sent me to the front desk once again. I am in college so I brought my school books and homework with me which I had in the bottom of my suitcase. Which brings me to yet another complaint. It had been raining a day or two and it was a bit cold so I turned my heater on over night and then off when I left in the morning and when I came back there was about a 5ft puddle of water coming from the heater which had SOAKED my suitcase including my $100+ college text books that I had RENTED. FURIOUS I went to the front desk and I told them politely that the heater had leaked all over my stuff and that it had ruined my belongings and I was given a freaking towel to clean it up myself after they made up the excuse that "when it rains the heater sucks in the water and will bring it into the room".... Hmmm interesting. And I am not kidding when I say to top it off my freezer had defrosted all over my food so when I opened it water splashed out everywhere. Again, I go to the front desk and ask if they can switch it out and they said they were fully booked and can't take one from another room then they continued to ask me if I had unplugged it or messed with the temperature... No I did not. 5 days left here and I sent an email in detail with dates and the complaints I made to the staff and it was a weekday so I know they received it. No response whatsoever. 3 days left now so I decode to call corporate. They were very nice to me and told me how they agree none of that was acceptable so she put me on hold and called the front desk and she got back to me saying the general manager should be knocking on my door or giving me a call within a hour. The next day rolled around and I got nothing. I called again and they said that the general manager was going to compensate me but she didn't know how much or what percentage. Keep in mind I stayed 11 nights and my school books were ruined because "the heater sucks in rain". I check out at 5 am and I tell the guy working the front desk that I had some issues and I was going to get a rebate of some sort and he said okay let me go confirm with the manager and he had stated that he remembers hearing something about that...2 minutes later he comes back and tells me and I quote this "they decided to not go through with the rebate" I had to be somewhere at 5:30 so I told him okay I want a full receipt and I will be calling corporate again. I get back home and I call corporate and tell them they didn't go through with what they had told me! And I again was told that that's unacceptable even after the manager doesn't call me or show up to my room and then just denied my rebate at checkout because they just decided to not do it. 2 days later I had a rebate of $25 into my checking account. Debating about what to do about my school books that now can't be returned and they are worth over $100 alone. I am back in Montana again and I am staying 30 miles away in a place that I can afford just so I don't have to go to that motel ever again. DO NOT GO HERE!! read more

We arrived close to 1am and went straight to bed, not really looking around. In the morning we noticed there was hair and shavings in the sink, bathtub was dirty, and the toilet wasn't cleaned-basically they made the bed. When we talked to the front desk, she was nice but could only 'leave a note for the manager'. So unless you want to pay over $70 for a room that was never cleaned, don't stay here. read more

If I could leave a negative star review I would. Do not stay here. I stay at Motel 6 when I travel and I stayed in over 5 different motel 6 locations on a trip from Arizona to Northern Montana and back again. I am writing this review from a motel 6 in Salt Lake City. This Dillon Montana motel 6 should be put out of business. The heat in the room did not work and when we asked for extra blankets because it was -11 outside and there was no proper heat we were told we could only have one blanket for the two beds we had payed for because they only had two available extra blankets for the whole property. This motel 6 is also the highest priced I have ever seen. We payed 75$ for one night in a dirty heatless room. We left a card in the room to state that the room was dirty and that the heat did not work. After we checked out, we were charged extra money and when I called to inquire as to why we were charged extra money, I was told we had stained a wash cloth and two hand towels that they could not get clean enough, so we have to pay for those. Do yourself a favor and SKIP this place, there are better options almost anywhere. Horrible customer service and incompetent staff. read more

I don't care what anyone else said - they're wrong. I often travel for business; generally, I will stay at hotels approximately 300 days per year. I stay at Motel 6 properties anywhere between three to six months, Choice Hotels for two to three months, and Marriott properties the remainder of my travel stays. (I'm in the top-tier reward level at the latter properties.) I have my favorites, but on this trip, I had to travel through Montana and arrived to stay at the Dillon, Montana Motel 6 property. It's not a G6 (corporate-owned) property, but WOW!, what a gem! First of all, the manager, Dillon McCullough is fantastic! He was working EVERY department at the motel from the date of my arrival; front desk, housekeeping, maintenance, and outdoor work to make certain everything was in excellent condition and appearance. I've never seen such a hard-working property manager who went out of his way to accommodate ALL of his guests. Also, Nick, Brenda, Kat, and Mia. Best of all, the property as a whole, and my room, in particular, were spotless. Everything clean, well-stocked, and in its place. This motel also offers in-room microwaves and refrigerators. Moreover, the members of the housekeeping staff worked very diligently to make certain that ALL of my needs were addressed and my room was cleaned to my satisfaction every day during my stay. Wow! The motel is literally a block away from Dillon's historic district; dining, shopping, casinos (as Montana knows them), tourist-related activities, and walking trails and paths. And, it's perfectly safe to walk at any hour. I did it. The motel offered free Wi-Fi, too. I had the opportunity to stay at a Choice Hotels property off the interstate, but I chose to stay here. It was the right choice for me and, I think, it's the right choice for anyone travelling through this part of Montana. read more

was a guest from Saturday Aug 17, 2013 to Tuesday August 20th, 2013. WORST hotel stay of my life. No AC..if you turn it on the ac unit goes out. There is a sign taped to it to use fan on low. The wifi was horrible...disconnects day and night, every couple of seconds. I am not kidding. Could not stay on long enough to even load a page. Complained twice about that, nothing was done. Last, but not least there was no hot water after 8pm for shower or bath. I am not sure how on earth this place stays in business. We were afraid to sit by the window in the room because the heavy drape rod was hanging by the skin of its teeth to to the wall. Signs in lobby saying free coffee, but DO NOT fill your thermos. Free ice but DO NOT fill any ice chest. I will never stay at this horrible run down place again. Stay if you don't want any conveniences that a hotel normally would have..like air , internet and hot water. read more

Calling Tom Bodett!!!!The place is clean-ish. However, no chairs except for the two retro at the 1/2 table. We needed that table for the electronics. Oh, the first room assigned? In the corner and looking at the building. Returned downstairs and requested a room w/ a view. "Oh, you didn't like the view?" Maybe she was joking, so why assign it. So: no rug and sometimes, that's good. No art (even funky). Our voices echoed inside the room! We spent a comparatively fine night at a former family motel gone Motel 6 in Tremonton, Utah. Same price, but comfy. Refrigerator and microwave included along w/ a coffee room. We have spent the $66.00 for frugality at fine places in Cedar City and Munds Park. This was more like a meditation on simplicity. There were two soap bars. Couldn't wait to exit at 0500 this morning. Yup, the light might have been on, but it definitely needs to be turned off. By the way...the back side is a less than secure lower end of town for a view. AVOID this place! So much for frugality! read more

I'd give them zero stars if I could! We checked in and didn't get into the room until after 8 pm. We had planned to stay 5 nights. We looked around the room and noticed there was nowhere to hang a towel in the bathroom. No hooks, no rack, nothing. There was also nowhere to put our clothes. No dresser. We've stayed at many Motel 6 locations and know you don't get luxury but really! This location was on even on the higher side pricewise for a Motel 6. We figured we would at least talk to the manager in the morning. We took off our shoes and puttered around for a few minutes. We had just sat down to relax when we looked down at our feet. They were brown from just walking around the room for 10 minutes or so. It was disgusting. If they didn't clean the floors what else didn't get cleaned? We decided to talk to the manager in the morning. When my husband went to the front desk, the employee was only on her 3rd day on the job but was by herself. The manager wasn't expected in until 3 pm. She called him and my husband talked to him. My husband told him our concerns. Rather than apologizing and offering a solution he proceeded to tell my husband how rude he was being. He didn't want to talk about the condition of the room etc. and kept telling him how rude he was being. My husband finally said that we'd talk to him when he got in later in the day. We thought about it and decided that we didn't want to stay in a hotel that the manager was so lacking in customer service and also didn't want to leave our things unattended in the room that they have access to with that kind of treatment. We didn't feel comfortable. We contacted the Super 8 in town and booked a room there. When we went back to cancel the rest of our nights at Motel 6, the manager still wasn't on site and was called for us. Suddenly they were willing to move us to a room that was clean and had towel racks etc. We thanked them and politely asked for a refund. Naturally, the new employee (again all by herself) didn't know how to process a refund. The manager ended up taking care of it when he got to the hotel. We will never stay here again. So...you lost out on 4 nights worth of stays here...AND we ended up cancelling our Motel 6 reservations at the next location (for 2 nights) and rebooked at a Super 8!!! read more
