Do not stay here. Spend a few extra dollars for a comfortable stay. I am not sure where the updated rooms are supposed to be but I know we did not get one. There maybe available wifi but there are no outlets for cables not even in the office area. There was no hot water for the shower. The pool is an awful eyesore. The ice machines were all broken and no ice available. The grounds have not been attended to and although we went to this motel because dogs are allowed, noone has picked up after their dogs nor has anyone from the facility. The bedside light did not work. and probably only needed a light bulb. This was a very unpleasant experience and the receptionist seemed not at all concerned that there were issues. Got into the room and the air conditioner was not working at all. Went back to the front desk and they gave me the room next-door, which had the air conditioner working but did not have the lights working properly. I was so tired. I just took it anyway. The place was a total mess. The smell was absolutely disgusting and it felt like it was pushing mold straight into my lungs. I don't know how a place like this is still standing. Maybe I'll have the termites are holding hands. If I had the option, I would've rather kept the money and slept in my car. Even my dog was unhappy with it and he has slept in worse places than me. This is making me doubt motel six completely, I have stated four of them now, four nights in a row, and they are nothing but getting worse as I head east. I had originally reserved a room in Junction TX but one of my dogs was overwhelmed and super stressed out so I came here and got a room that was clean and inviting. I have never in my life came here and tbh this town is soooo small and they had a bird statue called the Pasiano Pete. Not going to lie but I saw a few of them in the morning but back to the motel. You're paying less than $50 for a hot shower and place to crash with your pets, nothing more. If you get a clean, quiet room and decent customer service, that's a 5-star stay for the old M6. This one is super convenient, REALLY quiet, and has all you need for a good night's sleep to get you back on the road. Check-in was quick and flawless. That said, the room was comically tiny. Where do I begin with this place! DO NOT STAY HERE! YOUR LIFE DEPENDS ON IT! We have stayed at Motel 6 before and they been a pleasant experience, not too bad So we figured a small town why not can't be that bad! Oh boy was it ever. 1. I reserved a delux 2 queen beds w disability accommodation, and a disability shower, that's what I paid for. Well I didn't get that, they didn't have any, I was so upset because she couldn't lower the price and the only other delux rooms were upstairs. I was traveling w my 85yr old father w mobility problems so NO UPSTAIRS. When we finally got into the room I felt this creepy feeling and when I looked behind the door it looked like someone had been killed there w a baseball bat, there were splatter stains all over the door. I always travel w Clorox wipes and more, I cleaned the other parts of the room and OMG it was just BAD! And I couldn't change rooms or get my $$ back! I was stuck! Anyways after cleaning the whole room i felt better. I travel w my cats and my babies are very sweet indoors cats only. After falling asleep which is the only reason why they got a star. NO BUGS AMAZING COMFY BEDS FLUFFY CLEAN LINENS,FLUFFY PILLOWS, NO SMELL, also the AC worked fantastic! Any ways after cleaning t room and getting settled, The nightmare begins! After falling asleep on the nice comfy bed something woke me up around 3:45am. My cats which are very independent & sleep usually at our sides or by our heads or in there bed. They were all awake, on alert, watching the doors and the window, my girl cat never growls, only when she is in danger or to alert us we're in danger. All the cats were upset and wagging their tails, not good! My daughter, 30hrs old, wakes up and is puzzled why our cats are so upset, we checked for rats or anything else. We didn't see anything, but they were mad and looking out the window and standing ready to pounce by t door. Around 4:15am we tired on ALL the lights and after a few we heard someone's door closing after that the cats were more calm. Around 5:45-6am we heard a couple people leave to go to work, 3 different rooms to be specific. After that the cats were more at ease and that creepy feeling kinda left. After that experience I WILL NEVER STAY AT ANOTHER MOTEL 6! Unless I see the room 1st, which will never happen. Me and my family felt like we were going to be murdered in that room. I'm so upset because of this people at this motel 6 were HORRIBLE. NEVER STAY AT THIS HOTEL, trust me when I say go next door pay an extra 15-20$, ur sleep is worth that and more. I thank GOD me and my family are alive and well. I will post an update after speaking to booking.com to get my $$ back. I hope this helps someone. read more

This review comes with the context that I booked a motel six, to begin with, so my expectations were not exceptionally high. I arrived slightly late and was immediately given the key to the room. It was a smoking room despite having booked a non-smoking one. I was informed the next day by a friendly employee that they don't control the online bookings so they couldn't have let us know there were no longer any non-smoking rooms available. I could only expect a refund or discount if I had complained at midnight and left to find another place to stay. It reeked of old smoke, unfortunately. The toilet had rust or perma-crap in it. The shower had a film and was not clean. It was unfortunate to have paid $90 in the middle of Texas on a weekday and receive such a crappy stay. This place is dirty. So gross!!! The mattress is stained with urine. Sheets and top cover are stained as well. The hangers and woods are full of dust. Broken shower knob, I took a shower with super hot water because I had to wash from a long drive. We paid $99.00 for a dump! $99.00 is not a budget price and it doesn't have to be unbearable. So disappointing- how could this place pass from health and business licensing department???? This place should get penalized the way they run their business. When I asked for the code, I was told that it cost $10 an internet card. We ended up here on a road trip from California because we were travelling with a cat and Fort Stockton comes after a looong (@ 200 mile) stretch of I-10 with little or no habitation and no options in lodging for miles. If you miss this area, you have another loooong stretch. I was traveling with someone who is disabled and needs a cane to walk. The front desk said no handicap rooms were available (I counted 12 on the ground floor) and the only ground floor rooms available were smoking rooms. (Why smoking rooms on the first floor when the rooms are near a pool where kids play, next to rooms for disabled guests, and below the non-smoking rooms so the smoke can rise up so no where is really nicotine free, I don't know.) When we got to our room, the bed covers were FILTHY. Stains and mud and dirt on them filthy. I complained to the front desk, and they said they would do something about it later. A few hours later they called to ask my disabled travelling companion to come down stairs to get new covers. When she said she could not, they did not offer to walk them up themselves. We stayed in a decent, clean, well tended Motel 6 earlier in the trip for not much more than here. If you are traveling with a pet and need to stay at a Motel 6, then plan you trip so you can stay on either side of this stretch of I-10, rather than stay here. If you are disabled, avoid this location or else book way ahead of your arrival (at least in summer). For anyone, if you must stay here, pretend you are staying in an overpriced youth hostel and bring all your own supplies - including your own cleaning supplies and bedding! read more

They advertise free Wifi but it's so slow that it is almost unusable. It's only 1Mbps. I got 7 Mbps on my 4G phone. They intentionally slow down the internet so that they can charge you $5 extra to restore it to a usable speed. That is BS! The rooms are cute! I love this style of motel -- going outside, the pool, the vending machine. It's a great place to stay. I even liked the beds. Fifty bucks is great.. Showed up after driving 15 hours straight the guest in front of me had already checked in, they gave her a dirty room that house keeping forgot to clean. There are no downstairs rooms available, and we only have smoking rooms available. Thought the whole point of a reservation to to hold what is promised?! So we took the room due to exhaustion and they are not to bad really are bone rooms, however the water pressure is non existing, no hot water and they don't give you shampoo either. Look. It's a Motel 6. In Fort Stockton, T.X. It was what it was. We had what was supposed to be a remodeled room, and I guess it was. Know that remodeled means laminate floors, a low bed, and the weirdest shower. Picture that tube that the kids get sucked up into the arena in The Hunger Games. You face the wall and pull the curtain closed behind you. There were some shady characters staying at the hotel the same night we were and we made sure to not leave anything even remotely valuable in the car. During check in, the front desk lady seemed like she hated her job and it came across in her attitude. There appeared to be some sort of a fecal stain on the wall near the lightswitch, but we tried to ignore it/ hope it was something else. If there's one thing this road trip taught me, it's that if you stay in small towns, stay at Hampton Inns. It's a little bit more money, but a lot better stay. read more

Clean place to stay for overnight. Winter storm trapped us on the Freway for 16 hours without food water or bathroom. Needed rest and a clean room. Shower was odd but warm. Clean new matress, pillows a bit stiff. TV was not clear and volume changed from very loud to normal when changing the channel. I chose this hotel because of an app, and because I needed a room during a cross country drive. I was instantly disgusted as soon as I walked into my room. If there had been another hotel available at 3am I would have immediately left! It was filthy! The linoleum floors were completely covered in sticky spots and grease splotches, the bathroom smelled like an outhouse & the toilet was dirty, and best of all: the bed sheets, which at one point had been white, were grayish yellow & STICKY. Basic inexpensive motel, not as nice and clean as my many other Motel 6 stays around the U.S. but acceptable. (I did have to clean some dirt off the shower floor before getting in). Fridge and microwave included, but I had to request them specifically. Limited TV channel selection. I'm in a smoking room, but it's not nearly as smelly as it could have been, so that's a plus. No shampoo/conditioner which I don't care about but apparently a lot of reviewers do, so that's why I mention it. Wifi isn't free, which I'm ok with in a cheap motel, but if I pay $4.99 for a high speed connection, my code should work on more than one device. I found this limitation very annoying, but the gentleman at the front desk gave me an additional (slower connection) access code so I could research my road trip on one device while I Netflixed on another. The woman who checked me in looked like she was having a rough day, apparently they were understaffed tonight, but she was very friendly and doing her best to handle the small crowd in the office. read more

I should've known it was going to be an issue when I walked in and a customer was arguing with the male clerk and basically told the man it was not his problem. The first day I walked in there was feces on the toilet bowl, I immediately went to Walmart bought cleaning supplies and had to clean my own toilet. The shower has a drip that has been not fixed and what I can only guess is months if not longer housekeeping should have definitely seen that. The AC unit is in literal disarray and falling off-the-wall and the absolute worst part of it is I think I've been sleeping on bed sheets that are stained with dried blood!!!!. travelling for work on a per diem and with a dog means im limited in my choices. motel 6's are hit and miss nationwide. some are so shiny and clean you think they made a mistake with the great price. others are used as homeless shelters/housing authority residences, which you never know until you show up and find a slum ghetto. and others are just awful for other reasons. fort stockton, in general, is filthy. the restaurants all are bucking for a visit from the health department, but if the inspector lives here, then no doubt they are infected with the same surliness, obesity, and manana attitude as the rest of the town, which explains why businesses can get away with it. this property is not a homeless shelter, and while some of the fixtures show age, it was clean when i arrived, and bug free which is a rarity in west texas. i paid for premium internet for my initial 2 night stay. the premium internet description states clearly its meant for movies and games. so i expected to hook up my hdmi cable to the tv and enjoy netflix. i couldnt even load gmail. i figured because of all the facebook idiots who cant live without checking every 4 seconds for people to care what they think. when i told the front desk, they said they couldnt offer a refund but they gave me a code for 1 night being as i was forced to extend my stay 2 more nights. youll notice 1 code, not 2. also, im currently using my hotspot to write this, because, yep, even with very few people staying tonight, the internet still sucks. free code or not, its still useless. on day 3 i went to work at 10am. i was tired, i got over it. apparently housekeeping came by, smelled a dog, and ran away. i say smelled bcz the desk clerk claims housekeeping heard a bark and crossed me off the list. i was in the shower, 4 feet away from my dog. she did not bark all morning. but whatever, lies are something im used to in texas. regardless, i was in the shower, so housekeeping would have had to return anyway. this, apparently, is too much to ask. moving on, i called the front desk at 9pm when i got back from work to state i was skipped, bed unmade, and no fresh towels. the guy who answered said, "sure, how many towels do you need?". i said 2 and he replied that he would be right up. his positive attitude and willingness to take care of it made me refrain from pushing for clean bedding. i was willing to be happy with that. a woman called my room a moment later to share the housekeepers lie with me and asked that i come to the front desk to pick up the towels. the front desk is only a few yards away, and one flight of stairs, and to look at the people around here, it comes as no surprise that one flight of stairs very well might be the last nail in the coffin, but at this point, the woman took away all the positive energy the guy gave me and started with excuses and policies and a bunch of words that meant, im too friggin lazy to walk my ass up the stairs to do our job that we lied about the first time. considering it wasnt her who offered to do the walking, i found it strange. if youre on a per diem that doesnt fit the outrageous rates of the other subpar hotels in this town, then youre stuck here, but the lesson i learned this trip to stockton is...skip it and stay in van horn or alpine. the entire town is a giant speed trap anyway designed to fleece the temporary/transient workforce. i think im done with motel 6 as well. too many variables and too many differences from one property to the next. fyi, i stay in hotels 200 nights a year for work. so me saying ill be staying elsewhere means a good many of those nights will be taken away from the motel 6 chain...at least where other options exist. read more

The room smelled like urine. Although it was a non-smoking room, when the person in the room upstairs lit up, we all got to partake in the smoke. The bed was deliciously comfortable and we could have our dog stay with us so those were the saving graces. read more

I like most of the places I've stayed in the Motel 6 chain, but this one, as another reviewer mentioned, is indeed poor. Both ice machines were out of operation (thankfully the people at the motel next door let me have a bucketful). The bed was very low quality. Windows don't open. The wi-fi, for which you pay an additional $3, is unacceptably slow despite the manager's promise to the contrary, and I've asked for a refund for this charge. Old school tv and no coffee mThanks to the tip-off from one of the other reviewers I did ask for one of the rooms which had been remodeled so my room was at least clean. Without the added wi-fi the room cost $45 for the night for one person, which isn't terrible, but I love the one off I-10 in Benson, AZ, which is about the same price but much much better value for the money. read more

I stayed one night at this Motel 6 in Fort Stockton on March 7, 2019. The check in process was normal, the room looked ok. I was tired and slept early and woke up after midnight to use the bathroom. Here was the surprise , the bathroom was full of roaches running everehere in the bath, behind the TV, under the bed, and allover the room. This is worst night I ever spent in a hotel. It was like a nightmare. Looking under the bed , it was dirty full of roaches. When I told the person in the office in the morning, she was not surprized and told me you should have come to the office to change the room. I felt that I was the gilty party. She did not apologize.
