Arrived on site! the parking lot was dirty, cups, trash, clothes on the parking lot. as soon as i get off my car the 1st thing that hits me like a bag of bricks was someone in their car was smoking some cannabis. I was like oh nooo! I was tired I just wanted a hot shower and some good rest as I had a long day. I walk into the lobby, the Lobby was dirty, lady 2 ft away from the check in desk had over cooked her microwave dinner and had made a mess. there was no one in the front counter as I kept looking inside the glass wall on the check in counter. (Made me feel like i was at a gas station that has gotten robbed a couple of dozen times. So, i lightly knocked on the glass, a little kid comes out and yells! don't be knocking on my glass! then proceeded to ask me what he can do for me. My son stayed here one night since he was working in the area. He arrived around 5:30 p.m. and had to wait half an hour before someone came to check him in. He immediately got the feeling that this was not a safe place to stay. Once in the room, he saw that it was missing the smoke alarm and there was no door to the bathroom. Fixtures in bathroom were not in good shape. He couldn't sleep at night because of all the yelling and commotion outside his room - that is until someone pulled the fire alarm - then there was the noise of emergency vehicles. He didn't leave his room. He checked out as soon as possible and informed the desk clerk he wasn't coming back. He was glad to find that his truck had not been broken into during the night and all his work tools were still there. He would definitely not recommend this establishment. read more

No. Just no. No electricity in the room. The only positive thing I can say about this Glendale WI location is that Maria, the woman at the front desk behind the bulletproof-like glass, immediately offered me a refund when I came back to the desk after being in the room for less than two minutes. Upon arrival and being buzzed into the lobby I could see it wasn't at all like the pictures shown on Expedia and the motel website. Dingy, smelling of smoke and very run down. I asked when the coffee would be out and she said they don't make coffee. It was advertised so I assumed she meant they no longer provide it in the lobby all day. I asked when it would be out in the morning. She said, it wouldn't. They do not provide any coffee in the lobby at any time and there is no continental breakfast or even hot water for tea. Expedia touted the eco-friendly cleaning supplies and toiletries. Not even remotely close to what I observed. When I finally got into the room after having the keycard reprogrammed I was appalled. I did not expect the Ritz for the price I paid. But I did expect two nights in a clean room with electricity. Missed on all counts and the only working light was in the bathroom and one on the side of the bed. The desk lamp and another had no bulbs period! And there was just a shower stall although a tub was advertised. The marijuana smell was thick and it became very apparent that while not advertised as such, this is a resident/transient/drug users party motel. I just couldn't believe the depressed and junky feel. I knew the other reviewer's pictures of roaches and bedbugs had to be accurate. I wasn't willing to even bring my bags into the room to find out. I blame Expedia more than the hotel because despite numerous awful reviews with details of the nightmares, they still continue to allow bookings and let a completely fabricated list of amenities stand. Vegetarian breakfast? There isn't even a gumball machine let alone anything representing any kind of food at all! Maria and a young male helper were cordial if not overly friendly and as I mentioned above, Maria did indicate that I would receive a refund, but I have yet to see a credit on my account and she said that it would come from Expedia, not Motel 6. She warned me that Motel 6 would not automatically refund Expedia's portion of the fees, so I would have to work with them. i was only there for a short time and I feel like I dodged a bullet, literally. It was not shaping up to be a good night and there was a bug on the bathroom wall. On other sites you will see comments from management promising to do better, but they go way back and nothing appears to have changed. I'm so disappointed, but I never expected it to be so incredibly mis-advertised and in such a poor state of repair. It's not just a shabby motel, it's a real dive. No more last minute bookings for me through Expedia. They clearly do nothing to verify descriptions or investigate complaints. read more

We arrived at 2:40pm and front desk was so rude yelling CHECK IN AT 3. I'll give her benefit of the doubt, it's 20 min but okay. The hotel was already shady considering the amount of random folks roaming around outside and then upon entering, the front desk is behind a bullet proof glass. We put that aside and checked in. Upon going up to our room, we noticed there are guests living there. We thought it was strange because a younger guest (probably 11 or 12) was in the elevator with us and would follow us. It felt like we were being staked out. We also noticed a man in room 223 was just walking up and down the halls and constantly standing by the exit stairs. The room was absolutely disgusting. The floors were sticky and dirty. The bed covers full of dark stains. The outlets had orange mold. We didn't stay. We packed the car and found a room elsewhere. Save your money. If I could give it a zero I would, when we first got here two hours after check in, we still were not able to check in, they said our room was not ready, the staff was extremely unfriendly and unhelpful. The room was so dirty...photos included. Wish we could get our money back since we might have to pay for a bed bug treatment. read more

I should have read the reviews before booking this hotel. The same issues people mentioned over 5 years ago are still issues. - people live here and loiter outside. - our rooms weren't clean and available at time of check-in so we came back after the concert we came to town for. Then were told that they couldn't find my reservation which is when I got verbally upset which is I'm sure why he then all of a sudden had two rooms for us. - one of the rooms was occupied so they had to find another one for us. - room key only worked one swipe at a time. - doors don't slowly close so they all slam throughout the hallways. - hallway and stairwell are filthy. - room floor is sticky and dirty. - bathroom door doesn't shut. - one pillow per room because "they don't have anymore" and the pillows they do have are a thin as a folded hand towel. - bad neighborhood/area. All in all, it was one of the worst experiences I've had at a hotel. There is clearly illegal activities happening here and they let people live here. I believe this is why they never know which rooms are available or clean since rooms that show "available" to them are not actually available. This motel was genuinely the worst place I've ever had the misfortune to stay. I don't even know where to start. The floors were disgustingly sticky, there was a used bandaid in the shower, there was a squished bug on the wall, and the floor was nearly as comfortable as the beds. The only impressive decor was the cigarette burn in the direct center of the comforter. We checked in at 3pm and checked out at 11pm because we'd rather take our chances exhausted on the road late at night than stay here and catch a communicable disease. Do Not stay at this Hotel it is the worst place I have ever stayed at. That includes my tent in the woods during my time in the Marine Corps. There was blood on my bed underling cover. The twin bed was covered in dark stains that looked like human excrement. The toilet was pulling from the wall, there was debris and trash in the bathroom. The window sills were cracked, the base boards were all pitted and there was dirt all along the floor area. The bath Tub had a black stain that covered the entire surface of the tub area. the electrical outlets were all cracked so I think this place will be burning down soon because of violations related to the building fire code. The health department should take a look at this place because you wouldn't want to leave your dog here for a night. Stay away!!!!! read more

Where do I start...this is the worst hotel I've ever experienced. Even worse than the $15/night hotel in India. Cleanliness does not exist as you can see stains in the carpet from every hallway. Go into your room and you'll find a tv that maybe works(mine was cracked in the corner), cigarette burn and strange stain in blanket, peeling wallpaper, cracked/split bathroom door, stained chair, and a strange room odor. On top of that, this place is very loud and ghetto. The room next to me had a woman on the phone yelling about a conversation that she was going to whoop somebody's ass. The room I had was next to the staircase and the swinging door did not slow down so it always slammed when closing. This is very distracting at 3am when you're trying to get to sleep. The front desk woman was actually nice. All in all, just skip this place. read more

On Saturday, July 29, 2017 my husband and I stayed at the N. Port Washington Rd. Motel 6 in Glendale, WI. As we approached the building, he pleaded with me not to complain; he had booked the one-night reservation a month earlier and hadn't had any luck finding a room at other hotels in the area. I read the reviews and hoped that the problems facing previous guests would be rectified by the time we showed up. But that was not to be. To be fair, the staff was as nice and helpful as could be. But the place was a nightmare; I actually felt sorry they had to work there. There were snack vending machines with scrawled, misspelled 'Out of Order' notes on them, warning guests to use them at their own "descretion." The motel's rear glass door was smashed and it was apparent the building had serious water damage. In the lobby, there was a pile of terry cloth towels soaking up water on the floor. As we made our way to the room, there was a wet-dry vacuum cleaner in the middle of the hall and the carpeting was noticeably wet. (We literally squished our way to the room.) Inside, the water damage was also apparent. Wallpaper was blistered in some places and, in others, coming away from the wall altogether. This was especially so in the bathroom. Rather than asking my husband the usual "What time is check-out?" I wanted to know, "When do we get out of here?" I could not sleep that night and felt itchy. And I could swear that the person who last used that room was a smoker because the sheets had a slight smell of cigarettes--which reinforced my suspicion the sheets weren't freshly laundered. I kept my clothes on and couldn't wait to leave. How this particular Motel 6 is open to the public is beyond me as that building clearly needs a top-to-bottom renovation. God knows how many building code violations to be found in that place. As far as I'm concerned, Tom Bodett can leave the light on for someone else. read more

The only thing good about this place was the friendly staff! Got to room, bed had been made, however, not changed! Yuck! Bathroom door was half rotted off too and the toilet not cleaned. They were gracious enough to give us a different room. That was the only highlight. Second night, they had gathered our used towels, but didn't give us new ones. Ugh. Bed was a rock, no hotel shampoos etc. Wouldn't stay here again. I'd sleep in car first and bathe in Lake Michigan first! read more

To keep it short, don't stay here unless you don't have a choice. If you want the long story: I stayed here 3 weeks (this is the hotel my job paid for) and I was honestly happy to checkout at the end of the third week. This motel feels more like an apartment. Don't expect your key card to work every day, don't expect people to actually check on your room and clean it and don't expect the vending machines to work. The first week I stayed here I was on the first floor and was right across from the elevator. The walls are super thin and the crack under the door is big so you can very easily hear anything that is being said outside your door or in the hallway near you. I swear people got the loudest around 11pm (when I was trying to go to sleep) and would be talking, yelling, singing, playing guitar in the hallways and lobby. The second week I got to listen to children screaming and crying for at least a half an hour each day. Seriously, apartment like, in a bad way. There was construction in the hallways on all three floors and the floors in both rooms I stayed in were always dirty (never seemed to be swept or washed). There is no fridge, no clock, the ice machine runs out of ice frequently since everyone is always trying to get ice. There is a microwave in the random room across from the lobby (I think the coffee room?) but honestly I was afraid to use the microwave cause I heard (from someone else staying in the hotel) it was sometimes clean and sometimes really dirty. When I tried to check out the first week I was also right across from the housekeepers stock room and all the housekeepers had their carts piled in front of my door and in front of the elevator. I had to ask them to move multiple times so I could leave my room to go to my car. As someone who just stopped being a housekeeper (for this job that was now paying me to stay here), and as someone who has worked at multiple hotels/motels, this place bummed me out. The housekeepers didn't seem friendly at all, I didn't feel comfortable staying here and when I finally went to check out during the third week and was taking some of my bags out, a housekeeper came in and took part of the tip I had left them before I was fully out. Honestly the worst hotel I've ever stayed in, and I hope I never have to stay here again. (If you're looking for something positive I guess I can say that the location is pretty good. It's right next to a mall that has a lot of restaurants and nice stores, so at least there's that. You can go out to nice places and pretend you're not staying there...And there is one super friendly lady that works at the front desk who made staying there easier, but everyone else seemed grumpy and not very accommodating.) read more

You would be better served if you slept in your car, seriously. At first we were rudely refused a room, in spite of having made a reservation and presenting a confirmation number. We were able to get help by calling the main corporate number. All handicapped parking spots were blocked by a large storage container. The room shows signs of major water damage and there is mold on the ceiling of the bathroom. The floors are so sticky in our room that we make noises as we walk. Another guest was given a room that was never cleaned and had no toilet paper and was refused accomodation or a refund. The television doesn't work well; the reception is so bad that if you look at the screen, the wavy lines will give you a headache. The door of our room doesn't lock. The smoke alarm in our room was beeping upon our arrival and when someone came in to check it we were told that it wasn't the battery, but was a bad smoke alarm. He could not get us a new one, because he had no spares. Granted there will probably not be a fire, but still. There is an outlet with no cover on it. There was moisture inside the window. One of the lights in the room did not work. There was rarely a staff member at the front desk, though we think we saw one staff member out back smoking. If you need a place just to sleep; bare bones, no extras, no focus on safety, this is the for you! read more

I reserved 3 rooms for one night. When I got here the gal was kinda rude. But I got checked in early so that was a plus. When I got to the first room it was ok it didn't smell. The second room I opened the door and it smelled like someone just got done smoking a cigarette. The floors are sticky where ever you go. I went to check the third room and it was ok sticky floor pain on the floor. Nasty looking box springs. I told my wife I should just eat what I paid and go to a different hotel. I stayed here for a week while I was in transition to a new apartment. Its got great friendly staff, very attentive cleaning service, and a relatively friendly and diverse group of guests during my stay. I had no problem with the management at all, and it was a great clean room to stay in for such a tremendously low price. I had many funny and sweet conversations with the staff and couldnt have asked for any better bang for the buck. If you are in need of a cheap yet safe and clean place to stay for a few days, this is the ticket. I recommend this place for college kids, travelers on a budget, people in limbo waiting on a new apartment, truck drivers, and families who need a cheap place to crash. It is also located a few blocks from one of Milwaukees better malls (Bayshore mall), and is in a relatively good area, with plenty of places to eat out, grab a drink, get groceries, or shop. An apple store is only 3 blocks from here. Aple doesnt build stores by cruddy hotels! Definitely go here and support their business if you are on a budget! read more

Our room smelled like weed, the window was open (lock was broke) and screen was pushed out, the room was bare, TV did not work properly, wi-fi was down, we did not feel safe at all.
