The staff was courteous when we had any questions. They offered suggestions for restaurants and local attractions. This hotel is also close to a convenience store, a Winn-Dixie, and a Hardee's, and it is right off I-10. So, when I had to get on I-10 by 10, it wasn't an issue. We would stay here again.

BED BUGS? People next door (okay 2 doors down) showed up around midnight. Gone in minutes, yelling outside about bedbugs. We didn't see any in our room.....but itched the rest of the night and couldn't sleep. So, calling RR to try to get the refund of the felonious overcharge, but it looks like we'll have to file the claim with the credit card company. They advertised bottled water in the lobby- but again- no one there. I gave up and went to a convenience store. Never again.

The recent renovation has made this property vibrant again and the staff is very friendly and willing to be helpful. The room we stayed in this particular trip was room 511. It is located on the NW corner of the hotel and is very clean and the furthest from the Interstate. Which made the room very quiet. We had breakfast one of the mornings we stayed and the folks serving the breakfast area are doing a great job. They are constantly replenishing food items as needed and greet you with a good morning smile when you enter . The price for this property per night compared to Gainesville on a game weekend is about 1/2 the cost. The 35-40 minute drive up from G'ville after a game is worth the cost. Plus, I'm closer to home when heading back on Sunday. As an FYI, there are quite a few restaurants near the hotel (Ruby Tuesday's, Gators Dockside, Texas Roadhouse, Panera, Pisano's) just to mention a few.

I am not one to post reviews normally, and was professional & friendly in my demeanor. When reviewing my concerns with the office staff they advised I needed to speak to the manager & provided days/time to return - I returned as directed 3 times and the she was "unavailable". On my 3rd visit the manager refused to come out of her office - I could literally SEE her in her office but she would not come out. Again - I was not "mad" or showing "frustration" and the front desk staff were very nice. It was very bizarre. The manager obviously was just not interested in speaking to us. I then followed up with 2 emails - again no response from management. The major issues: Contaminated/Boil Water notice delay - We arrived on Friday 5/1/26 and were notified at 7pm 5/2/26 via email that the local water supply was compromised and residents were under a boil water notification since at least 4/27/2026 per the town website. Island Oaks did not offer or have any bottled water to supply to us - I did ask - and we were paying full price for water and electric service. Why were we not informed upon check in to not drink/shower/brush/bath with the contaminated water and this issue jeopardized our health ! Island Oaks showed no concern or signs of caring about their facilities when it came to their guest health. Unleashed dogs - There were at least 4 unleashed dogs in the sites around us while we kept our dog leashed as per the rules. To get to the dog park you had to cut through someone's site - past the unleashed dogs - there was no easy entrance accessible from campsites. Never again - highly do NOT recommend Island Oaks.

From the street, Camellia Rose appears to be a well maintained historic looking building. It's a pretty decent size with a nice yard and water fountain out front as well as nice parking. When we arrived, Mrs Pat met us at the door and welcomed us in. She showed us around and scheduled a time for breakfast. She told us to call if we needed anything and was very sweet. We went to a ballgame and had dinner and then went to Rockeys in town before heading back. When we got back we immediately got in the big jacuzzi tub. (We stayed in anticipation). There's bathing salt provided which made it even better. The temperature and water pressure was great, everything was very clean and taken care of. There were a lot of little details that made the room even better. The bed was comfy- my honey didn't want to get up the next morning due to how soft the bed was. I ended up getting him up and we went and got coffee and sat out front for a few minutes before breakfast. Once it was served, we had fresh sweet fruit, some kind of egg dish that was my absolute favorite (the boyfriend stated I needed to "up my breakfast game" the next time I cooked haha), sausage, and a really good pumpkin bread that I could barely eat because I was so full. We refilled our coffee and sat on the upper balcony for the rest of our stay which was relaxing. It was a little chilly but there was a small blanket in our room I could cover up in as I sipped my coffee. All in all a very great place to stay and we look forward to returning! PROS: - very quiet and relaxing; not like a hotel room where people are yelling in the halls randomly - Excellent breakfast that will have you extra full and ready for the day - I recommend definitely getting a room with the big tub. I would stay in it all day with a book if I could - clean and well maintained - quick uber/drive away from everything - great patio to relax in the mornings or nights
