We booked on the Hilton app on the way knowing it was by Interstate 10 and only 40 minutes from Jacksonville.

Total Hell-hole. I would sleep in my car versus staying at…read morethis complete sh^t-pile of a place ever again. Why? Well, first off; the * at the front desk defrauded us, We had pre-paid reservations through Expedia which she refused to honor, saying it was fifty dollars more. Didn't matter we had the confirmation in our hand, she said "you pay it or you don't get your room." My wife said forget it, but the * said it was already paid for, she refused to refund any money. Wife and kids were exhausted so we basically paid for a Marriott and got the most butthole of a place Red Roof could offer. Room: filthy. Black mold in the bathroom, smelled like absolute sh*. Water - sewage brine. Serious. Probably why the room smelled so bad. Noise - I -10 all night long, about 10 feet from our door or so it sounded. Customer Service. - I think you know already. I told the missus we would try to reason with the desk clerk in the morning. Only problem is, morning came and no one at the counter. Seriously. Waited half an hour. Not one person. Ever showed. BED BUGS? People next door (okay 2 doors down) showed up around midnight. Gone in minutes, yelling outside about bedbugs. We didn't see any in our room.....but itched the rest of the night and couldn't sleep. So, calling RR to try to get the refund of the felonious overcharge, but it looks like we'll have to file the claim with the credit card company. They advertised bottled water in the lobby- but again- no one there. I gave up and went to a convenience store. Never again.

Clean, comfortable bed, convenient location, fast check-in…read more So-called free breakfast as advertised on Priceline never materialized. A tiny bagel and juice. I eat a real breakfast, so I had to search for a local eatery, which I found. The desk excuse was the Covid. No facial tissues, desk did not give a credit card receipt (yeah, I should have asked, but I will call to get one emailed to me). HVAC was loud but worked well on a hot early September night. Franchisee is from India. I'm being blunt - they run lodging right along the edge, not one penny more. But I'll stay here again; the price is great, and the location meets my two needs. I can handle the rest. Traveled occasionally and nationally over a 45-year working career. Retirement is great!

The beds were supposed to be queen but they were smaller than my queen at home. Plenty of cooking supplies, full size fridge is very nice. Really enjoyed the 11th Hour band on Saturday night, and bingo on Sunday night. A great place for families, if a little expensive. It's very clean, both inside the cabin and everyplace else. I suggest a rug or mat for the front door, it was pouring down rain when we checked in, we used a bedroom rug. So nice to have a place where pets are welcome. Thanks for a great time, we will be back. Ingrid Wright

Second and last time we will come to Island Oaks. The facility itself is nice and clean. However,…read morewe paid $170 a night last weekend 3/6-3/8 and will never go back. One of the main reasons we went was to enjoy the pool. On Friday night the pool and hot tub were full of unsupervised children. The hot tub clearly states 18 and older, yet nobody was out there to enforce this. Also stated kids should not be left at pool alone. Parents were inside at the bar while the kids ran crazy around the place. Saturday was much worse. We got to the pool around 11:00 am and all the chairs were taken up. Most just had a towel thrown on them. Then a large group came in and set their coolers right on the edge of the pool. They also had a very large speaker that they put on full blast with their own music. On top of that, they continued to pull drink after drink from the cooler. Later, they ate sandwiches and chips all while in the pool! At 2:00 pm another group came in and pulled out there large speaker and played on the other end of the pool. Now there was the two groups music plus the resort music playing. The second group also brought a dog in. Turns out both groups were not staying at the resort!!! They were there on day passes. They come in and stay all day and into the evening to watch the band. We were at the pool for four hours before we gave up. During that time, one guy who worked for the resort walked around and never said anything to these obnoxious groups that were obviously breaking the rules. Additionally, nobody came back to the chairs that just had towels lying on them! Other families left because of the swearing and a few mentioned the "F" words on people's hat and t-shirts as something they did not appreciate their kids seeing. It is a shame because this used to be a family friendly resort. Now, they allow the locals to come in and take it over. With the prices they charge for the sites, you should have to be staying there to enjoy the facilities. We will never book there again and ran into at least four other campers that said the same thing.

From the street, Camellia Rose appears to be a well maintained historic looking building. It's a pretty decent size with a nice yard and water fountain out front as well as nice parking. When we arrived, Mrs Pat met us at the door and welcomed us in. She showed us around and scheduled a time for breakfast. She told us to call if we needed anything and was very sweet. We went to a ballgame and had dinner and then went to Rockeys in town before heading back. When we got back we immediately got in the big jacuzzi tub. (We stayed in anticipation). There's bathing salt provided which made it even better. The temperature and water pressure was great, everything was very clean and taken care of. There were a lot of little details that made the room even better. The bed was comfy- my honey didn't want to get up the next morning due to how soft the bed was. I ended up getting him up and we went and got coffee and sat out front for a few minutes before breakfast. Once it was served, we had fresh sweet fruit, some kind of egg dish that was my absolute favorite (the boyfriend stated I needed to "up my breakfast game" the next time I cooked haha), sausage, and a really good pumpkin bread that I could barely eat because I was so full. We refilled our coffee and sat on the upper balcony for the rest of our stay which was relaxing. It was a little chilly but there was a small blanket in our room I could cover up in as I sipped my coffee. All in all a very great place to stay and we look forward to returning! PROS: - very quiet and relaxing; not like a hotel room where people are yelling in the halls randomly - Excellent breakfast that will have you extra full and ready for the day - I recommend definitely getting a room with the big tub. I would stay in it all day with a book if I could - clean and well maintained - quick uber/drive away from everything - great patio to relax in the mornings or nights
