This motel 6 is one of the better ones we have stayed at! I loved that it was enclosed and the rooms could only be accessed by locked doors. The area was nice and there was plenty of area for the dogs to potty. Our room was cleaned and it was a bonus to have a working pool. Now for the aspects that were lacking... weed was being smoked in the stairwell so we had to walk through that. The jacuzzi hasn't worked for a month.. they are awaiting a part and it had a gross film/sludge on the water.. they really needed to drain it. I called prior to arriving and asked specifically if the jacuzzi was working and they said yea.. only to be told nope once we arrived. The pool was overchlorinated. Bottom line clean beds/rooms and affordable price with pet accommodation and working pool. read more

This is absolutely the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. When we first checked in the first room had bugs in it we went to the reception and let them know so they switched our room the second room which we upgraded to a suite so we paid even more money and had even more bugs. One night we killed 10+ bugs. When I emailed the general manager their response was this is a seasonal bug everybody has them we will not give you any money back. I was at an event for three days with over 200 people staying in hotels in that area and the only hotel that anyone complained about having bugs was Motel 6. If this was a seasonal incident why didnt anyone at reception mention that when I complained or why did none of the other hotels have bugs. We tried to switch hotels the second night but everything was booked they could have at least compensated us in some way. Do not stay at this hotel. read more

Yikes, where's a motel renovation show when you need one? This place is gross. Insects in the room, hallways and windows. Evidence of past bed bugs (droppings on walls) Dusty, dirty, dingy, with stains and disrepair throughout. For the price my hopes weren't high and they still failed at providing a clean comfortable place to sleep for the night. Mattresses were thin and spring-full. 1 out of 2 beds were missing the mattress cover so a thin heavily bleached sheet was all that was between us and the dirty mattress. The bed with the cover had box elder bugs crawling on it. I slept with my clothes on and still felt dirty. Box elder bugs in room and hallways. Evidence of bed bugs at one time. Not very clean. Seems like staff are just going through the motions or management doesn't care. Surprised a name brand chain would allow this. Parking lot very tiny for the capacity of this place. It didn't help that they let a 26ft moving truck take up like 5 spots. Had to park across the road at Winco/Home Depot. No where to park and unload, no bellhop cart in sight, had to double park and make a lot of trips. Lots of improvements needed/neglected. No where to plug in your phone near the bed/ night stands although this is barely worth mentioning with everything else that's wrong here. If only this were the biggest problem. ‍ Didn't use the pool but it stinks to high heaven. Chlorine smell fills the lobby, common areas and gets vented outside. a different smell filled the second floor hallway. The upside is their generous pet allowance. Not up to our usual standards. No, as in ZERO 110v plug ins beside the head of the bed!!! Here's a clue; many folks are on CPAP machines at night! No place to plug in beside the shared night stand is a big problem. We had to take one of the two small dining chairs to set the machine on and plug in beside the small fridge. No bueno! Also, in this day and age most everyone has a cell phone, so no place to plug those in beside the bed/nightstand either, so I guess I won't be able to use the phone as an alarm clock. Which, btw, there wasn't even one of those. The room is "spartan" in the way it's equipped/decorated. And that's being kind. Cheap or chinsey would be more appropriate. Needless to say Motel 6 will not be on our future itineraries. I'll pay a few dollars more to get a nicer room read more

We stayed a week at this Motel 6 and they surely disappointed us. First off the staff were nice and cordial towards us the customer service ended. 1. They highlight they have an indoor pool what they leave out is the pool is supposed to be heated however the pool heater doesn't work and is uncomfortable to swim in because it is unbearably cold. I chose the place because of the pool so my family I am visiting could have the children swim for a couple of hours but we could only tolerate 15 mins before hypothermia May set in. The staff had no idea when the pool and jacuzzi would be repaired. 2. We were here 7 days and requested if they could at least turn our bedding once we were informed they couldn't promise they would do it because they short staffed with house keeping. 2. They did not clean our bathroom for the entire 7 days, they did not sweep or mop our floors our entire stay. They have a thing where you leave your trash outside the door as well as your towels, then they leave clean towels in a trash bag at the same spot. I've stayed in other Motel 6's across this nation this is the new low of lows as far as customer service and satisfaction for me. 3. The property is not cared for such as the parking lot and the foliage surrounding the property. The Best Western motel next door is strikingly better cared for and maintained. read more

This is by far the worst stay in a Motel 6 I have ever had. I only give it 2 stars since the shower was really amazing after a long drive on a road trip to Meridian ID to see family. The showers in my room were the most powerful, steadily warm shower I have ever had in my 40+ years staying in motels/hotels. Even better than a 5 star hotel in Manhattan. That being said, the enjoyment stopped there. As a loyal Motel 6 customer for over 35 years, I wanted my stay at this one to be the best. 1) Mystery $150 fee charged to my card. Upon checkin, I was charged a $150 fee in addition to the room for 4 nights in advance. I asked the front desk clerk on the phone about the charge, she explained it was a security deposit for incidentals. I have NEVER been charged this kind of fee from any Motel 6 ever in my life. Incidentals like pay per view or other were charged "AFTER" you checked out. The clerk apologized and said they would waiver the fee. It never was waived. 2) Dirty sheets on one of the 2 beds in the room I asked the same clerk if they cleaned rooms between guests because one of the two beds had dirt/debris that looked like burnt toast scraps on the sheet. The clerk immediately became angry at me, mistaking me for someone else, and chastized me about how rooms are not cleaned on "stay overs", and "You noticed just now that your bed was dirty!?" in an impatient/condescending voice. After I corrected her about checking in just 2 hours before, I told her that I just pulled back the covers for the first night in preparation for bed. She immediately apologized and offered to move me to a new room or remake the bed. I opted to remake the bed. This was done quickly and with a fountain of apologies for the misunderstanding. 3) Missing Manager. I asked the original clerk to have the manager call me the next morning and she said she would. (Just after remaking my bed that had the dirty sheets). That never happened. The next morning I asked for the manager. The new clerk said the manager had left for the day. I asked how come the manager did not call me as requested? She did not know, but put a request for the manager to call me Monday. I never received a call or voicemail or a note on my pillow, semaphores, skywriting, or other communications from the missing manager. We checked out Tuesday morning, at the desk. As of today, 4 days later, the $150 deposit has not been refunded. The missing manager has no name, no number or email, and apparently either ignores messages, or the employees prevent him/her from getting guest complaints. Motel 6 in Meridian Idaho is not a good one to stay at unless you want to be misidentified by a rude clerk, charged mysterious fees ninjalike (the checkin clerk said nothing about these fees, and since I used the mobile app to reserve and pay, did not take a credit card from me. Just 2 signatures for the pool and the room. To her credit, the evening clerk that made a mistake apologized profusely, but failed to waiver the $150 fee and failed to have the manager contact me about my concerns. read more

During the week of Christmas my Fiance and I left Cali for a family trip in Idaho. Upon our arrival after a twelve hour, slow moving and snow covered trek to Idaho we were greeted in the parking lot of this place in the dark by two pitbull mixed breeds running full speed to my open door and tearing into my SUV for my service dog, puppy and my cat. First off the rules are to keep animals leashed at all times. The owner happened to be married to one of the employees at this Motel 6 Fail#1.... Then two days later, the same thing happens and their dogs try to tear into my vehicle and jump over my fiance. Then once I decided to take my quarrel to the office, the owner was in there complaing about me. So I told the front desk exactly what transpired outside and the owner of the dogs started to rush me physically inside. I took two defensive steps back and put my hands up in a defensive position. He proceeded to continue forward asking me "what am I going to do about it and calling me names as he was inching himself and his two dogs closer to me in a very aggressive manner. He was told to stop by the front desk. Fail #2.... Now it all culminates with his mother who is the actual employee at this Motel. She gets within one foot of my face and proceeds to call me every name in the book and spout profane language at me with her son and husband chiming in behind her since they were so scared of me. Then she proceeds to tell her coworkers not to rent to us and that she will make it so we can't stay here.Fail #3 Then to make it all worse the manager said that we have to move rooms and levels since they were on the same level instead of moving the culprit who's not abiding by the laws and rules and is trying to usurp her authority ..Fail#4 I will say this is our second time here. The first went perfectly which is the whole reason we chose to stay here on our second visit to Idaho this year. This is just unacceptable to be having employees feel as though they can just run the show and have zero accountability. F to the employee her husband and the manager that took the side of the employee and specifically said there is nothing she can do about it. Then I learned this is a normalcy here and even the other employees have had to make complaints about these two pitbull mixed terrorizing her as well. The rooms are beyond dirty. For $150 a night, I would expect the pictures to match what the room looks like. I understand it's a Motel 6, but the rooms are very dirty and projects/repairs are half completed. Mismatched paint colors and unfinished painting projects. The beds are terrible. I had checked in for a three night stay (to save some money), and after 5 minutes had asked to change my reservation to one night - and we got a room at the Courtyard Marriott for $100 more a night. Rate for single over $100, This is Motel 6 not a Hilton they charged me a $75 deposit up front on my credit card, I'm a single guy non smoker on a motorcycle, I sleep 6 hours and I'm gone. The clerk said it may take several day's to get my deposit returned. I had a spastic nut case lady in the room next to me talking on the phone and crying out loud for hours, I called desk and no answer. I put ear plugs in and tried to sleep. Parking lot was full when we arrived after midnight, but I'm not going to ding them for that. Many places have full parking lots after midnight. The Check-in attendant lacked social skills (I think maybe we awakened him and he was groggy and not thinking properly). After I gave him my license and credit card, he looked at my picture on the driver's license and he checked us in. While the computer was working, he commented that my hairstyle on my driver's license picture looked better than the hairstyle on my head now. "WHAT?!" REALLY?!?! Then his facial expression changed as he realized what he'd said. He "back-peddled" a little and tried to clean up his statement. I let his statement go without reproach. I didn't "tear him a new one" nor record his name to report to a manager. As I said, I think he was just waking up (should not have been sleeping on the job anyway), was really groggy and just said the first thing that popped into his head. Maybe I give people the benefit of the doubt too much. Maybe.... Anyway, the lobby was small and not particularly inviting. The sofa and chairs did not look comfortable. I don't know if they were because I did not sit on any of them. The elevator was a bit small, stuck in a corner against a wall. Because of this, we had to really maneuver our luggage to get inside it. One good thing was the FAST elevator. While the hallways were lit, I felt that the overhead lights were not bright enough. Surprisingly, the room was nicer than the lobby implied it would be. Though, the King-size Bed was big, it was not really that comfortable. The room was a decent size, but the placement of the electrical outlets was awkward and not user-friendly. There were none by the bed so I couldn't charge my phone by the bed. This meant that I could not charge my phone during the night AND use it as a snooze alarm in the morning. Because the phone was so far from the bed, I'd have to get out of the bed and walk a few steps to snooze the alarm. This defeats the purpose of a snooze alarm. The water at the sink and shower heated really fast. Yeah! thank goodness for the small things. But there was a long, blond hair in my face towel....when I unfolded it and before I was about to use it. (YUCK!) Hopefully, you can tell (by my pictures) that I don't have blond hair. This made me a little bit ill and I just said a prayer for the cleanliness of the bed and other towels. The electric heater was adequate but it had no automatic shutoff or working adjustment once the desired temperature was attained. Because it was cold, we turned it one. So, when we started sweating, we turned it off and hoped that we would not freeze during the night. I was surprised at the temperature in Mid-June. I didn't expect to deal with temps in the low 50's. Although the room did not have a microwave, we were happy that it had a refrigerator. After check-out, we used the microwave in the lobby to warm our food. The older lady who checked us out was not overly helpful, but not quite rude either (at least I did not think so). She was very stoic and did not return my conversation "niceties". While I did not detect any rudeness, my male companion felt that she was rude. Also, he saw her giving him the "evil eye" (my back was to her) while we warmed our food and ate breakfast at a nice table that was in the lobby area. That's probably why he felt that she was rude to me earlier. Who knows.....? Who cares? it's not like I'm going to be in that part of Idaho anytime soon. We certainly will not stay here. read more

Convenient location next to the highway and right across from WinCo and a few other food joints. I am so appreciative that the front desk associate allowed us an early check in after driving for 12 hours! Our room was clean, no complaints there. Downsides: Thin walls, we have a toddler and our downstairs neighbor banged on our floor (it was still day time, sorry guy...can't stop my kid from being a kid!). Be sure to ask that your room comes equipped with a fridge and microwave if these things matter to you. Our room had no mini fridge or microwave, had to get ice from WinCo to keep our food from spoiling and kept it in a cooler. Thankfully, there is a microwave in the lobby. THIEVES !!!! WORST HOTEL EXPERIENCE EVER. Visiting my first time to Boise for training for a new job. Booked my reservation on Expedia . When I came to check in the told me "we can't find your reservation." I said ok . Showed them my email confirmation. Showed them my app confirmation. Said it did not exist. That my reservation had to be under another name. I obviously needed a room with my training going on. Asked if I could still book a room then for the price I have on my Reservation on my email . Told me no. Because my reservation doesn't exist in the system they had to give me their price which was $30 more a night. Expedia called them twice and they continued to argue saying "it's not here sorry. Nothing we can do" She booked me for 1 night. My stay is for 3. The first room they assigned to me was already taken with a dog.. I went to use my key and a dog was right behind the door barking. When they got me a different room, I realized she only booked me for one night when I needed 3. I go to the front again and some different guy tells me "oh well I don't know if I even have that available" ????? Are you joking. Then tells me "you can stay in this room tonight and tomorrow and you'll have to move to a different room Saturday. I was like ok fine. He never booked my room for for Friday. So I had to go to front desk FOR A THIRD TIME. Had to book a room AGAIN. I was so frustrated and done with this place I checked out early. BEST PART: THEY STOLE MY 45$ PHONE CHARGER. I went through all my bags. Couldn't find it. Called and asked if I could come get it. They said they couldn't find it. That it wasn't turned in and I must have it. So basically F*** this place. Staff is extremely friendly. Ladies pack your own hair dryer. This motel does not come with one. In fact they give you one tiny bar of soap and thats it. There is not a water fountain to be had in the entire building. You have to fill your water bottles up in the bathroom sink. Do not stay in the rooms by the exit doors. Extremely noisey all night long as modern society has lost social skills and couteousy. People were slamming the door shut all night. The beds were awful and hard as a rock. For me though, it was one of the nicest Motel 6s I've ever been in. I was checked in by the most adorable emo who was very nice and patient despite me probably being kind of annoying. This place is more "up-scale" than Motel 6 usually is (I usually will never stay in a Motel 6). The rooms open into the hallways, it's 3 stories, and has an indoor pool. It was clean (on the second floor). The floors are laminate so everything echos, and the neighbors above me could be heard dropping things and moving chairs. I could hear doors slamming when people exited/entered their rooms. So bring ear plugs if you plan to sleep past 6am. I requested non-smoking and they sent me to the 3rd floor which was horribly filled with smoke! I told the front desk lady I wanted a different room. She gave me the "only non-smoking left" which had 2 queens, but didn't charge me for the difference. If you are staying more than one night, note that they only clean the rooms every other night you stay there, so I had to request more towels. But, for the price its definitely worth the stay and I'd stay there again if I need a hotel there. read more

Housekeeping woke us us every morning starting at 8:30 by knocking on each door and loudly yelling for housekeeping. We could hear them several doors down. Not everyone gets up at 7 am during a vacation weekend. Shower had very little water pressure. A normally 10 minute shower took twice as long. Bathroom area was clean and well stocked but had terrible pressure. No fridge. I was hoping to have a fridge but apparently we didn't get one. Not the end of the world but would have been nice to have cold drinks in the room. Found gross hairs in our ice bucket. Thank goodness for plastic bags. Bed was not comfortable. Super hard. It was difficult to sleep because of it. Would work well for those who prefer firm beds. Bonus, loved the 4 super fluffy pillows. Room door did not close properly unless you let it slam or pulled/pushed against it, depending on if you were coming or going. Found it rather odd that the door didn't close properly. Tv turned off after about 2 hours of being on the same channel. So while watching a movie it would suddenly turn off unless you messed with the channel or volume. Energy saving measure? Air conditioner worked great. Definitely would not recommend. read more

This one was clean, very spacious, front desk personnel were personable and welcoming and booking was seamless through motel6.com. I'd definitely recommend staying here for a quick nights rest. Let me start off by saying the front desk staff was very polite and accommodating. That being said, the room was terrible and we won't be staying at a Motel 6 again anytime soon. We stayed in a 2 queen "suite" meaning it had a fridge and a microwave. The sink was dirty (like GROSS dirty) when we arrived. I didn't say anything to staff thinking that when the maid came in the next day, she would catch it. Nope. She didn't. We stayed a total of 4 nights and she never once cleaned the sink. I didn't want to say anything, mainly because I would be concerned about what she might do to our toothbrushes if we questioned her cleaning abilities. I did like the laminate floors instead of nasty carpet. Bare bones, though. No shampoo or hair dryer. When I brought the sink to the desk clerk's attention in the last night of our stay, she did discount our last night's lodging. Again, great staff. SECURITY FLAW First let me saw that this particular Motel 6 is unlike others I have stayed in. The buidling itself stands apart from other typical Motel 6's. You will be suprised how nice it is. Check in was super easy and quick. The indoor pool was inviting but unfortunately due to schedule I didn't get a chance to try it out. The room was clean and neat and the tv and air work flawlessly. Here is where my only complaint is. During my stay the room key all of a sudden de programmed itself. I took the room key to the front desk. There was a gentleman behind the counter that didn't seem to belong. He was dirty and smelled of BO. I told him my situation and he got the desk agent. I told the agent my key didn't work and was expecting to show my I.D. after I gave the room number. She didn't ask for I.D. and just programmed the card. I literally could of found that card on the ground and she would of programmed it to any room I wanted. I find this to be a major security FLAW in my opinion. The price was great. We got a one bed, non-smoking room for $60. It has a pool and a hot tub, and coffee in the morning. This has not been out best stay here. We walked into the first room we were given and there was a guy and a very large dog in the room already. There is nothing quite like startling a large dog. We were given another room, and this one didn't have carpet, which seemed a little weird. This also seemed to amplify noise. We could clearly hear all of the noise in the adjoining room. At 2:30 in the morning when someone was beating on their door for 20 minutes, it sounded like it was our door. We have stayed here several times in the past, but we will look elsewhere next time we come to the area. read more

Motel 6 is a basic no-frills motel chain so do not expect anything beyond basic ambiance and basic services. Our room was immaculately clean, the beds were comfortable and the motel is well-maintained. Others have mentioned that the "walls are thin" meaning that sound does travel more so than in higher priced motels. This motel chain does welcome guests with pets, so don't be surprised to hear an occasional dog bark or two. We chose this location adjacent to Interstate 84 as it was easy to access, and convenient for us as we had business in the area the next morning. The lady at the front desk was efficient and pleasantly helpful, and gave us excellent directions when asked about how to drive to our local destination from the motel. All in all we were quite satisfied with our stay at this Motel 6 location. read more
