As a hotel goes it's fine. It's clean, the toilet and shower work, and the walls are relatively sound proof. In my 15+ years as a business traveler with literally thousands of nights in hotels, I have never experienced an "early check in fee"... ever. They sneak on a $20 fee, without any upfront notice, and they actually tried to charge this fee twice. As soon as I brought it to the attention of the front desk clerk it was met with an "I don't need this harassment". I did manage to get one of the fees removed from my bill but only one... grifter's gotta grift I guess. Anyway, if you should decide to stay at this hotel, ask about any hidden fees at upfront and watch your bill carefully. read more

We stayed in the two queen bed full kitchen suite on may 2-5 and the Main reason we stayed was for the oven which did not work. When asked to be compensated, was then told they would look at their notes and then was fully charged for the room! read more

Stayed four night... housekeeping only clean the room the 1st day... next day I was told they were short staffed, the next day they said I had a do not disturb sign placed above my room number.... their wasn't a thing to hang on the door in the room... all I heard was excuses... and then telling me I put a do not disturb sign... so blaming me. Night auditor did not pass my concerns to management.... poor communication... if you pay for a service.. and it's not delivered... you should be compensated... manager said they can't do that... only give me points toward my next stay. Why would I stay. Summary. Poor... I mean no housekeeping services. Excuses as to why they didn't clean room... short staffed... not my problem... tries to blame me. We stayed at here the past weekend while in town for our sons Football Tournament and I am really learning that Best Western is the way to go. You always see someone cleaning and the customer is great. This hotel was very family oriented which I loved. The staff were always available to help with anything, always greeting us, always cleaning and working hard. This was one of the best pools that I have seen at a hotel in awhile. It's a large pool and large jacuzzi!!! So many hotels offer this amenity but they are small. This best western pool was a great size and it was always being cleaned! (Love that) they have a outdoor patio to sit on too. Our room was the perfect size!! Definitely a must if you have kids. We had the Queen suite, that has two beds and separate living room area with 2 couches. Also a door that can close and close off the living room. We do carry a BLACKLIGHT with us when going to hotels and we found nothing!! I'm telling you Best Western has been great for us this year. Very clean. Thank you Best Western!!! I like staying at this location. I am an Elite Best Western account holder because I stay traveling and when I do get a day off, I do kind of set the bar high. That's why I do not do many reviews for all my hotels. But at any rate. This location does have everything I do require as far as having a king suite, pool and buffet breakfast and polite staff that can help with any situation. This Best Western Plus is in a great location and has all the stores etc around within walking distance. We are diamond select customers and stay at a lot of Best Westerns every year. They are generally very good and predictable. This property was no exception. They gave us a complimentary upgrade which is always appreciated. The room was very nice and the rate was pretty reasonable (for a BW). Staff was super as expected. Pretty decent breakfast. The hotel was located just where we wanted to be. Best Western property owners don't always follow BW Corporate guidelines but this hotel owner does and, in fact, goes above and beyond to take care of their customers. As an example, we booked our stay for two nights. A Sunday and a Monday. Apparently the room rates are different on weekdays compared to weekends. We didn't notice this but the clerk who checked us in did... and on his own initiative lowered the higher rate to be compatible. Not a lot of money but obviously creating a huge value proposition for us. If all Best Western properties treated their customers like this hotel treated us, Best Western as a brand would benefit greatly. We hope the property owners see this review and reward their amazing staff accordingly. We will probably be back in this area again and if so, we will be staying at this Best Western again. We spent 3 nights here and thought the rooms were great. The room was clean, the beds were comfortable, the facility was maintained, and the staff were friendly. The room did have an odor, somewhat, but we acclimated (for the lack of a better word) in about 15 mins... LOL! The complimentary breakfast was minimal and didn't offer as much as other Best Westerns that I've stayed at before. It's close to a lot of fast food, or if fast food isn't your thing, grab something from WinCo across the street and pop something in the microwave. What I didn't like was that EVERY SINGLE NIGHT trucks with trailers were allowed to take up to 7 parking slots to accommodate themselves. Parking is LIMITED and if you're not parked in the lot before 9PM-10PM you're sh*t outta luck on a parking spot because of inconsiderate parking hogs. You're basically forced to park in the shopping center parking lot and walk across the street (they say they have permission to use that lot, too). Management needs to force these parking hogs to park in the shopping center lot. (-2 stars) Next door (too close IMO) is Motel 6. We all know Motel 6's are notorious for attracting a sketchy clientele and they did not disappoint. What Motel 6 won't you see a beater with it's hood up and being tinkered on in its parking lot by a couple of meth heads? This isn't Best Western's problem; it's just something to consider before booking this place. I liked this place, but will never stay at this location again because of the parking and its proximity to Motel 6. read more

Been staying for a few weeks after my second week wanted to reserve another week, was told no more rooms available I called my rewards was informed they had a room got a confirmation number, yet when I went to the front desk the general manager Ian Juarez informed me he was canceling my reservation and if I needed a hotel with more that a week to go to a staycation hotel was rude with no explanation cancel my reservation. For spending $100 a night I expected more out of a hotel. Could have stayed at the Hampton Inn Downtown for the similar price with a much better experience. Room was dirty: Housekeeping is lacking. Loud: walls and floors are paper thin. The room above us either was housing a doggy daycare, football team, or dance troupe. Honestly, I think they had dogs up there. The crazy running back and forth all night definitely sounded like dogs with the zoomies. So much for a quiet getaway for some good sleep...cuz that definitely didn't happen. You can hear every door close...slam, every footstep, every person coming down the hall, EVERYTHING!!! Lighting: the bedside lighting didn't work. There literally wasn't a switch. Weird, I know. I checked all over even called the front desk and they came to help and were bewildered too. Bathroom: smallest bathroom ever. It's nearly impossible to walk into the bathroom and actually close the door. If you have any mobility issues at all...and I mean at all, even the smallest amount, like old joints, getting in and out of this bathroom around the toilet and the door will be nearly impossible. Trying to manage small kids in the bathroom was a nightmare. Parking: good lighting for safety Road noise: nearly zero road noise for being so close to the freeway and Meridian Rd. Outrageously bad customer service! I arrived with two kids after driving 8 hours from Salem, OR, only to find the front doors propped open and NO ONE behind the service desk. Instead, there was a little note that directed me to call a # for assistance. When I called, it just rang and rang... it was the main number for the hotel. I walked the first floor hallway calling out, "Hello?" and there was no one around. The door to the office that said 'This door is to remain locked at all times' was unlocked and ajar. I repeatedly called the number to no avail. I seriously thought the employee had been killed or something. Another customer with a reservation showed up, and she too walked the hall while I called the main BW phone number. The person who answered called the hotel as well, but was dumbfounded as to help me get into my pre-paid room. When I asked what I was supposed to do, he transferred me to customer service... and they were just as unhelpful. FINALLY, after about 30 minutes, a young kid comes running up the hallway apologizing and saying that he was "helping" another guest. For 30 minutes? In their room? Right. When I finally got into my room I found a used Q-Tip in the bathroom, pubic hair on the shower walls, and a room that was not what I would consider BW quality. I'm not sure what has happened to this chain. They used to be a top contender for quality, and their prices still reflect that, but they have considerably dropped. This was the only BW that I used during my recent 14 road trip and I am SO glad. I will never book another BW or any property that belongs to them!! read more

The entitled "GM" who was most likely bullied growing up, handled power poorly, and poorly is an understatement. He not only freaked out on me & cancelled 5 rooms totaling over $3K because he said I hung up on him while saying I won't work with him? 100% untrue. Yes, I had to hang up on him before I kindly told him, I'm driving & using my GPS which states I'm only 2 blocks away, I do not like talking on my phone, I'm almost there! Upon my arrival he was so upset that someone hung up on him, I'm front of other customers checking he blew up & caused a scene! Im an avid traveler, never been treated like this. A female employee secretly apologized for his ludicrous behavior. But the worse part, he yelled, stared harassment & racist comments to my 81 year old mother who had no idea what was going on. Needed a place for a few days while visiting friends and former work associates. Nice staff. Good, good quick breakfast with make-your-own waffles, eggs, biscuits & gravy and other stuff. Room was super quiet, super clean and well maintained. Beds were firm and comfortable. First floor room was fine and access to the front and rear parking lots from the lobby was convenient. Didn't use the exercise room or indoor pool. They looked nice and well maintained. Location near lots of businesses which travelers would need. Right off Highway 84 with good street access to Meridian and other Boise suburbs. less than 20 minutes from the airport. Room rate was around $90 with tax and everything. Much better than the Best Western out near the airport which we rated ONE star because negative stars are not allowed. read more

GREAT hotel, large rooms, very clean, stocked well, decent size TV and the beat part, when I booked a king size bed I GOT A KING SIZE BED! What?! It was fantastic!! The breakfast was a typical hotel breakfast, cereal, waffles, juice, toast, pastries, bacon and eggs - but! The eggs weren't swimming in liquid! It was a definite plus for sure. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!! I stayed here 2 nights in October 2020. My reservation was for 286.81 the hotel charged me 308.81. When I alerted the manager he said they had taken off my aaa discount and he was unsure why but that he would refund the card. After a couple weeks of the refund not showing up I contacted the hotel again with documented proof there was no refund and also an updated invoice showing that there was no refund. They have refused to make this right. They have said they refuse to give me my 27 dollars back. This hotel will rip you off. Not what I expected. Pictures on the Internet makes it look a lot better than what it really is. When somebody flushes the toilet I believe the whole floor here's it. The same goes with taking a shower. Kids running down the hallways. The continental breakfast was not very good at all. I could have went next-door to Motel 6 and probably save myself 100 bucks and there would not have been any difference between the two places. Also for some reason they charged my credit card a room for somebody that I have no idea who they are. That was real sketchy. Not the newest or the most advanced, but this location does contain very nice amenities. Onward! Location: 3 out of 5 About 15 minutes from the airport. Give yourself extra time because the highway is under construction. Once you get to the Meridian exit, the hotel is literally right off of the highway. Right turn off the exit, right turn at the first light, and right turn into the driveway. Customer Service: 3 out of 5 Probably one of the more lackluster customer service experiences I had in the Boise area, but that's probably because overall, Boise has very friendly people. The person who checked me in was kind enough. Made small talk, made sure I got everything ok, and we even joked a little about the fact that lots of people try to bring their pets into this location (no joke...they make you sign a separate piece of paper saying that if you have a pet and you're caught, it's an extra fine). After that I didn't really see anyone around the front desk until I checked out. I think they just sit in the adjacent office, and it's easy to contact them via the front phone, but perhaps I just like a personal touch. Rooms and Amenities: 4 out of 5 My buddy and I got a 2 room suite. Not a bad gig. This location is showing a little age, but not anything atrocious. The main "living area" had a larger couch, a sitting chair, tv, mini fridge, mini microwave, and sink area with coffee maker. The bedroom we got had two queen beds, tv, desk area, etc. Bathroom was fine, but be aware that the toiletries are non-boutique and "regular." There's absolutely nothing wrong with that. Maid service was great - every night we would return to a properly cleaned room with new towels. Mini fridge temperature was good enough to keep water and sports drinks, as well as beer cold. On a side note, the TVs were the older ones with curved screens... Hotel Amenities: 4 out of 5 I didn't get to take advantage of the free breakfast, but I could smell it cooking every morning. I did, however, use the pool and the hot tub. It's very neat how it's indoors, and with the windows open, there's always a layer of steam escaping. The pool was heated, and the hot tub was super heated. Very comforting, if there's not a lot of children there. Unfortunately, on the one time I went, there were a few children there, and although they weren't obnoxious or rude or ill-mannered, children are just by nature, louder when they are swimming or playing in the water. I must note that the hot tub was also quite deep - sitting down, the water came up to my chin. Haha. I noticed that the place also had a workout room, and one lone computer in the main lobby area. At no point in time did I see anyone use the computer, probably because the hotel provides free wifi at decent speeds. Pricing: 4 out of 5, I think. I got this through southwest vacations, and I suppose that the package price contained a very good discount. The listed room rate for the two room suite with two queen beds was 220$. Guffaw. By my calculations, the discounted rate was somewhere around 100 - 120 per night, which I find very reasonable for what we got. Highly recommended if you're in Meridian, and not a bad drive from the Boise area if you want to save a few bucks. read more

We stayed here this past weekend while visiting some relatives in town. We could not have chosen a better place to stay. This hotel was very clean and quiet during our stay. Great rates, the pool and jacuzzi were a added perk. All around a great place to book for a stay. read more

As a teacher,(my husband is a health-care provider) I always look forward to a week-long vacation with my family in the summertime. We drive from Portland to a Lake in Idaho where we enjoy a week of much-needed relaxation. We normally stay at the Best Western Vista in near the Boise Airport, but chose the Best Western Plus in Meridian this time. We are rewards members and find Best Westerns are convenient, reasonably priced, and serve a lite breakfast. This particular hotel also has a pool which is nice in the mornings, after a long drive, the night before. Now, on to the negative, DISGUSTING part of the trip... As the last person into bed after a midnight arrival, I turned all the lights off and climbed into the bed for some much-needed rest. Imagine the HORROR in the morning, (7:30-ish) when I woke up and found a disgusting sheet below me, with a 4-5 inch in diameter stain with someone's leftover bodily fluids and an accompanying spot of crusty black/brown stuff on the blanket above. I was sick to my stomach, and got up, showered, and then found the housekeeper in the hallway to show her what was on the bed. The housekeeper acknowledged how gross it was, and said she was glad it wasn't her room to clean the day before. She suggested I go to the front desk, which of course, I was already planning to do. The front desk girl looked sweet, but was obviously trained to stall and to brush off the types of situations, as she acted like I was the one with the problem, and was totally nonchalant, about the incident. The manager wouldn't be in "for two days," and I was out of luck. I asked for the head housekeeper, and she stated that she "double-checks all the sheets," and I must be mistaken. Seriously, they think this is super fun for me...So, I showed them the pictures from the bed that I had taken, as the head housekeeper offered a weak apology. So, I then asked for the manager's email, phone info, etc. I have emailed, called, etc., with no response from the manger. The employees are, obviously, well-trained on how to extinguish customer complaints and manager responsibility.... just don't respond at all!! : / I know it can be hard for some people to admit fault and to make a situation right, when you believe you do a great job with everything, but when you fail to acknowledge an issue, you can't correct it within house, and this is a hospitality industry! It is bad form in every way... dirty room, bad service, and ignoring problems. Due to a lack of response, I filed a formal complaint with Best Western Corporate to get any type of response from the manager. The manager said he would do nothing, and offered no apology. Thank goodness, the corporate office was professional, apologetic, and understanding, and seemed embarrassed by the manager's response. They offered me enough points on my rewards for a free night of stay on another upcoming travel. In all of my many years of travel, I have never encountered such DISGUSTING ACCOMMODATIONS , and POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE from a hotel, and that is saying something, as I worked for a hotel chain many years ago while in college, and usually stay 5-15 nights in a hotel each year. My recommendation is to stay at the Best Western near the airport, or choose another hotel, since there are so many others to choose from in the area. Imagine what you can't see that is left on bedding from lazy, or under-trained house-keepers, AND poor management. The motto for this hotel should be, "What you don't know, won't hurt you. I had high hopes for this place. Front staff for the first few nights were awesome. To be clear, it was the staff of 11/30-12/1 that were the biggest issue. I would avoid this place like the plague. Here's the list: 1. Phone in room did not work. Let staff know on day #1, never fixed. 2. Asked for towels and tp from housekeeping directly outside of our room, told she was out. Had to go to the front desk a day later because it was never remedied. 3. All cable and internet stopped working on a clear night, when I went down to the front desk (as I couldn't call because the phone didn't work) I was told last time it came back in 10 minutes. Wait for it.... it didn't. This is not customer service. If you want a fancy motel 8, this is your place. Won't be back. Ever. We love BW+, we are members and have stayed at locations nationwide. The beginning of June we got into town a day early. We went to this hotel (we had reservations starting the following day) hoping we could check in a day early. No one was at the front desk for several minutes. There was a sign with a phone number to call. Tried calling it several times, no answer. We finally did get ahold of "Ian" who was the worst clerk I have ever dealt with. We dealt with his arrogance, rudeness and condescending remarks for at least 30 minutes. He checked in another family ( we were there before them) and in front of them told me that he was going to call the police on us. The next day we talked to Jeff who is the GM of this place, he offered to let us stay for free.....heck NO. We went right around the corner and stayed at the beautiful, clean and friendly Hampton Inn. read more

Fairly clean room. On our 3 night stay, had to go to the front desk for soap and lotion. Never replenished. Coffee was replenished once. Bed barely made. Didn't look like toilet was cleaned. We love Best Western anytime we need a place to crash for the night! This place goes down as our favorite one out of the many we have visited in the last 8 years... Very cute look inside and out. If felt clean and fresh. I loved the corner suite we had and that we could bring our four legged friend! Check in and out was efficient and easy. Breakfast was hot and well maintained. We thought we left something behind and called to check. They took the time to personally check the unit and then ask the other staff to look and then even called me back to give me an update. We arrived a few minutes before check-in, we were able to check in without a problem. However, the king mattress in the room was very uncomfortable and made for a very difficult nights sleep(unfortunate). My wife (who has had back surgery) ended resting in the chair that was in the room. Breakfast was typical hotel fare, nothing to write home about. The staff, however, was friendly at check in; check out no words were spoken as my wife handed in the keys. The customers were friendlier than most of the staff. read more

We have stayed here at least 24 nights over the past 5 yrs. because our daughter and family live in Meridian. It has been good in the past. Warning to all who would come now. We had a room with an AC that did not work. So, they were kind enough to move us to another room. Unfortunately, the AC in the new room sounded like a jet plane taking off, every time it came on. We were told ahead of time that the spa in the room did not work (no problem). But when we found the phone didn't work either, we saw a pattern. No one, over the course of 36 hrs., made an attempt to fix the AC or the phone, even though the front desk person, clearly not a maintenance person, tried. Apparently the owner is too cheap to hire maintenance people (Interestingly, he's also stopped the newspapers probably to save money). Bottom line, if you're desperate and don't mind being in a room that is totally inadequate for the money, this is your place. For us, we'll sleep outside to avoid it, if necessary. read more

I'm very confused.....this site says dogs are not accepted, however, we were here for four nights with our Yorkie with no problem. There were two other small dogs on site during our stay. We were not charged extra, nor did we have to sign a pet liability agreement. Most of the staff we dealt with were very friendly and helpful, but the manager seemed to be a little grumpy. We enjoyed the fresh breakfast every morning. One morning there was bacon and scrambled eggs, and another morning there was sausage and scrambled. There were biscuits and gravy, as well as two waffle makers. There was a nice selection of breads and dry cereals. We were there in the "off season" (December), so prices were really low ($65.00 for a double queen room). The room was clean and there were plenty of fluffy towels and a nice, hot shower. The WiFi worked well and there was a good selection of channels plus HBO on the TV. Location was easy to access from I-84 and is just 10 to 15 minutes from Boise. There were many fast food establishments within minutes, and many within walking distance. We will definitely use this facility again. read more
