The smell in my room was so bad I vomited minutes after arriving. It happened a second time the next morning. The main light in my room was burnt out. The metal door was so warped I had to use my shoulder to open it and slam it hard to make it close at all. This is a warning to any and everyone who even considers staying at this pit. They have bedbugs and body lice all over their rooms! I wish I was over exaggerating. Between Oct 25-30, 2025, I stayed at Motel 6 Naperville (Room 219). After paying to extend my stay, staff canceled my reservation, refunded only the canceled night, and tried to frame that refund plus one "complimentary" night as goodwill. In reality, it was manipulation. Their employee Susan coerced me into withdrawing my complaint by threatening that if I didn't, she would leave me on the street in the cold. Under that coercion, she arranged a "complimentary" room. She also put her hands on me without consent -- conduct that is threatening and unacceptable. Most seriously, I sustained a needle prick injury on Motel 6 property that required an ER visit. Motel 6 is liable for this incident, and their staff's misconduct interfered with my ability to manage the medical emergency safely. I am pressing charges and have retained legal counsel in Naperville. Motel 6 has one final chance to resolve this responsibly before escalation proceeds through law enforcement, consumer protection agencies, and public forums. read more

Just got from a trip there where I stayed the entire week and definitely should've pay couples more bucks and get something WAY much better than this place . They don't even respect what they're telling you I called to leave a note for a room on ground floor as my BF is disabled and doesn't do very well with staircases they said you'll be able to have one for sure just remind us when you arrived as I called earlier during the week and the same morning as they told me to to make sure I'll be Ground floor but yet never been respected and Got something on the 2nd floor. I was staying at this motel from Sep. 9 -12 . the sheets are not washed, and the property is infested with cockroaches'. The note in the room tells you that we left the lights on for you , but there is a reason , Cockroaches' hide if the lights are on. and at night when you turn off the lights, they come out , I woke up at 4 in the morning, one was crawling up my arm. the hotel manager is not on site, and does not answer the emails or phone calls. . the front desk is rude and ignorant. never saw a room service going to the rooms after the guest left for cleaning. Honestly, all these reviews bashing the motel to me are a total waste of time. If yall want a hotel then pay the extra $100-$150 a night that the hotels charge. This is a motel and it's one of the better ones I've been to. Yall want clean this and clean that but yall expect that for $50-$90 a night? Nah not in this economy. The motel is nicer than others, there's no roaches or bed bugs. Maybe old mattresses but no bug infestations. I stayed from the 17th to the 23rd of July for a conference and it was perfectly fine the whole time. Walls may be thin but so is all of yall patience with places like this. Very close to the airport. There's free shuttle and the service is very great. I was happy with the price, it was reasonable than sleeping at the airport for a next day connection (late arrival). I got a warm bed, reheated my food and there was free coffee with varies of teas to select. read more

I reserved a room for 69$ a night and had to do it 3 times The 4th time I was told they were booked, I told them I reserved the 69$ a night room 3x over 2 months and they need to fix it ..the manager fixed it by charging a room for 97$ the first night and 104 the second. I was charged $1.50 more than I had been told, which I just chalked up to the ever-elusive "fees." Still, be prepared for arbitrary extra charges. Also they didn't have the room I booked (I admit I booked for only a few hours before arrival). She tried to put me in a smoking room, and I had to dig in my heels, so ended up in a non-smoking double-bed instead of a queen. That's fine. And, as I expected, the non-smoking room still smelled a lot like smoke, but probably not as much as the smoking room would have. Hotel grounds: I got lost bcs no one told me where my room was. Was a little scary. Classic motel layout, so there's lots of concrete alcoves and pass-thrus. Broken lights meant dark areas. I try not to be dramatic about these things, but: just as I inevitably imagine a ghostly encounter when I go into my parents' basement, I couldn't help but imagine a chloroform rag and subsequent torture with rusty dental instruments. Also, motel is close to the airport, so planes very loud overhead. Wasn't really a problem til the 5 am rush started. If you have a hard time getting back to sleep after waking up, you may have trouble with this. Room: Walked in and saw water flowing from the bathroom into the room. Great start. Toilet was running, and I think water was leaking from the tank to the floor. I was able to fix it myself (doubted I would get help from staff). Room was dirty and worn. Loved that they still folded the toilet paper into that little triangle at the end... you know, the extra touches... considering the stained ceramic, hair in the shower, and cigarette holes in the blanket. No bedbugs, but there was a friendly beetle who hung out on the door. I liked him. He kept watch! I still didn't set my suitcase down on the floor and slept on top of the bed in my clothes. Check-out: Uneventful. Free coffee burnt my tongue. Conclusion: I did not want to be in Chicago that night. I wanted to be at my conference in the Marriott San Antonio. But here I was, and I needed a place to lay my head. In retrospect, I MAYBE would have just crashed at the airport (a special hell, but I've done it before). After all, my room was $80, but the cab ride from the airport is time-and-a-half, so that put me at $100 (plus another $12 for the ride back). But my new flight wasn't until 10 am, and I really just wanted to be supine for a few hours. And I was. I very technically slept in a bed. I had a TV. I had working outlets. If that is what you are looking for, Motel 6 may meet your needs. read more

Let me share why I would never ever stay here again. My check in was cool. I went into the room and I immediately was upset with the way it smelt. I get over that by spraying everything down with bleach cleaner as well as lite a few candles. I go to sleep to wake up to roaches running around all on the walls and in bathroom. I recorded a video. I go to front desk to employee sleeping in the back. I tell him about the roaches so his response is that the manager will be there after 8am it's like 5:00am. So I go to work come back showed the video to the "manager" so he switches my room. The next room smelt bad as well I saw one roach. I checked out the next day. It's very affordable, but here's what to expect. First night here, I woke up to a couple cockroaches on the floor. There was pee stains on the bathroom wall. "Clean" towels had holes and hair on them. No hair dryer available. The floors are dusty and the beds are not comfortable. I booked a one-night stay at this Motel 6 during my trip to Chicago. I was flying into Chicago from LA around midnight. I contacted this specific Motel 6 a day before and the day of my flight to let them know I was going to check-in after midnight. I spoke to Ashley the first night, who told me that she would make a note for the person who checks me in and I spoke to another woman (didn't get her name) the day of my flight to let her know that I was coming in after 12am. She told me it was no problem as long as I didn't show up after 3am. Cool. I arrive at O'Hare and take a 15 minute Lyft to the property. The woman at the front desk straight out told me that they over-booked the motel. I told her that I called in to make sure that they keep my reservation and that I was going to check-in after midnight. She said, yeah, that doesn't matter. They over-booked the rooms and there was nothing she could do. She did mention that my money would be refunded within 5-7 business days. She went ahead and contacted Motel 6 in Arlington Heights and I guess they overbooked many rooms that the person who answered asked if I was rude about the whole situation because she didn't want to deal with it again. This Motel was sending all the people to the Arlington Heights location. No apologies were given. I was tired and upset but whatever, that's life. This happened on August 15, 2018. It is now September 11, 2018 and I still haven't received my money back. I've been calling the motel to check the status of my refund and they've been giving me the run-around. They finally told me that I would have to request it through Orbitz since I booked through them. They were the ones who told me that "they", Motel 6, would refund me the money. What a shitty way to run a business. You can tell the owners of this property don't care about customer service because there are absolutely no responses to the negative reviews on here. This place was awful! The floors were black and sticky. The beds had stains and dirty sheets. There was cigarette burns in the bathroom. Smelled awful of cigarettes and mold. There were people in the parking lot doing drugs and selling. One car had a woman having sex with someone for money. It was late at night when we checked in and most hotels were sold out near by so we HAD to stay the one night. I felt gross in the beds and had to lay on my own blanket to avoid the sheets. ( also used my own travel pillow.) By morning we tried to speak to front desk who was completely rude and nasty. I don't like confrontation so I left. The cleaning lady was walking around with her cart and had NO clean sheets nor blankets. SHE WAS ONLY MAKING THE USED BEDS AND NOT CHANGING SHEETS! I was so sick to my stomach over this. Room was clean but smelled like smoke. Not surprising given the deterrent system of an ash tray turned upside down with a no smoking sign on it, yeah that works. I have stayed at this hotel several times. Knocked it down a star from my prior 4-star review because of poor housekeeping. This property is in a great location, convenient to ORD and Donald E. Stephens Convention Center. There is a nice Denny's adjacent and really cool new brew house down the street. It has a lot of potential, but needs better maintenance and housekeeping. I'm sure they could charge more for the rooms but they need to invest more in keeping it clean. read more

The worst experience ever, room was filthy. Attendant was rude at first, yelling out he had no more rooms. Even though I had a reservation through Orbitz. Waited near 30mins for a room. There was hair all over the place from the bathroom floor, to the next to the bed, on the bed, on the chair, and on the sink. There was residue from soap and I don't know what else on the sink. The sheets looked like they had not been washed and the toilet seat was dirty. The room reaked of cigarettes, but it was a non-smoking room? The reason for not having enough rooms ready was because they were short on staff to clean, but regardless at 7-7:30pm there shouldn't be a room that isn't spotless. Was surprised by the high ratings on Google when booking. Turns out it's because in the "lobby" they have a sign saying you get a discount if you give 5 star rating. The rooms are awfully small. Our bathroom doorknob was broken and so was our toilet (we have photos of all of this too) there was a pink splatter stain on our bedsheets when we first came in. No one cleaned our room or even offered for our entire 4 day stay. No soaps are anything except for bars of soaps. Floors were so dirty they turned the bottom of our socks black, I don't think anyone has ever swept under the bed... our neighbors upstairs were stomping around all night. And every single night we could hear a couple screaming at each other. Even one night where the woman was screaming "Help me! Help me!" It's also really far from downtown and all the activities. When we first arrived we waited 20 minutes for someone to come to the front to check us in because he was "helping another guess" The only plus side is that the airport is right by it and it's pretty cool to see the planes flying so low. I cannot even believe it is allowed to operate and has not been cited by the health department or whatever department inspects such places and then gives them a license to operate. The rooms are filthy, the sheets unclean, the wall yellow and stained, the bathroom and shower especially are so gross and filthy that I was disgusted even going in. I held my nose and nearly threw up stepping in there. The room is supposed to be non smoking but it reeked of smoke.
