A colleague previously had a stay with the Drury network company so I already had some ethos there. I had a wonderful check-in experience. It was so easy and I was even upgraded to a suite. Spectacular! I was unaware of all of the freebies here and definitely made use of them. My room was clean -- the first thing I check is the bathroom. It was stocked to the brim. I'm curious as to why the only thing near the bathroom sink is a facial cleansing bar...but that's alright, I used it to wash my hands. The coffee station is alright but nearly unnecessary because you can go downstairs for 24x7 coffee that is incredibly delicious. The iron and ironing board came in clutch. There was a light that simply doesn't have a turn-off switch so I removed the lightbulb every night. The couch was comfortable and the bed was beyond comfortable. Most importantly, the staff was incredible. There is a woman working the bar and buffet all by herself and she does an incredible job cleaning. During the "happy hour" dinner, she was sweet and made me mocktails which was something I would highlight as going above and beyond. The front desk staff was super helpful in adjusting the state rate for my travel and providing me with both an electronic and physical copy for my records. I would absolutely stay here again. I am grateful for the location, the staff, and the amenities. Also, I slept pretty darn well!

It's sad because I feel like a little bit of TLC and keeping matching towels and bedding can go a long way. We were also missing 2 bar stools and I had to ask for them because we were a family of 7 and there were only 4 stools, they were quick to accommodate which was appreciative! The barstools were different and didn't match, not a huge deal! It is a little disappointing when the pics don't look like the real deal. Feels a little misleading. I'd give it a 3 star for maintenance and upkeep in general. Between the cabins needing some upkeep, the decks by the game hall rotting in some spots, the game hall inside needs some TLC just about everywhere. But a little bit of it would go a long way. I feel this place could easily be a 5 star place if they tried just a bit more. Looking forward to trying their other locations. I do recommend this place but I would be mindful of how much the rate is. I think we went during a higher rate period...the value for dollar comes into play here. When you add the cabana and the wristbands for the kayaks, stand up paddle boards and the Lilly pad for our youngest the price can really get up there. Hacienda Del Rio is only about an hour from home, but it felt like a complete reset. Being right by the river was so peaceful, we spent time paddle boarding, hanging out by the pool, and just slowing down for a bit. I also loved that they're pet-friendly and so accommodating throughout our stay. The rooms were super clean and each one had its own unique style, which made it feel even more special. Definitely adding this to my list of places I'll keep coming back to.

My first room was shrouded in ants and I would get consistently get bit. The second room was facing a huge construction site and I'd wake up to loud noises as early as 5 AM. The third room I would find arbitrary insects in my bed and would wake up with bite marks, I saw something bright red resembling a bedbug dart across my bed, to which I reported to the front desk. Unfortunately I wasn't able to take an image of every insect I saw, but they checked the room and apparently found nothing - and my concerns were brushed off. They did not have the courtesy to treat the room, and I don't remember pest control coming to spray rooms throughout my entire stay, though I could be mistaken. I ended up throwing away $150 of blankets I owned out of fear that there were eggs entangled in my blanket's fibers. Also the sink began leaking and soaked a big portion of the room. At this point, I was highly considering leaving. But decided to give this place one more chance because I loved the view from the third floor, and the safe location it was in. The fourth and final room I moved to was my breaking point when the flushing power in the toilet suddenly became extremely weak. I'd occasionally have this problem in other rooms but this particular room was the worst. It would struggle to flush even a few pieces of toilet paper down the drain due to the pressure being so weak. In one instance I used it and it became clogged. I attempted to plunge and flush it to The knob got jammed when I pressed it and water suddenly filled my whole room and wouldn't stop. every square inch of my room became fillled with toilet water and nearly ruined all of my items. Of course I didn't expect them to acknowledge that the room clearly had a plumbing issue, and they blamed the flooding on me. That's the day I decided to leave and wrote a 2 star review on Google documenting my experiences. Shortly after writing my review, they attempted to call me at 3 PM on my phone to alert me that the flooding was cleaned up, and I ended up returning their call at 5 PM and spoke to the young man at front desk thinking the issue was resolved. And returned to my room. Apparently it was not resolved. My poor review enraged the manager and assistant manager (Suzanne and Unity) so much they started aggressively banging on my door at 8 AM while I was sleeping and had no clothes on. they attempted to enter abruptly. After I answered they began interrogating me about my Google review while I was half awake and disoriented. Apparently this was their "issue resolution protocol." But it was extremely aggressive and completely lacked cordiality. Which is why I'm lowering my original rating of 2 stars to 1 star. I wasappalled by their lack of professionalism over me writing a Google review that I felt compelled to write this a more expansive review in hopes of warning long-term guests about how they will be treated, and how their issues are dealt with. The building was clearly constructed very poorly but they refuse to acknowledge this. Their lack of pest control ruined MY bedding/clothes and got me consistently bit, your poor plumbing soiled MY items, and they had to audacity to be condescending. I truly hope corporate re-trains these managers regarding their professionalism and aggressive behaviors to ensure future guests feel comfortable and do not experience what I did.
