My husband & I stayed here for 5 days back in May 2024, the staff was friendly, room was well kept, cable tv, our animals were welcomed! We felt safe with Security there at night, the head Manager was amazing in customer service & helping us in any way he could. Never staying here ever again! It was a nightmare!! While I was traveling home I was too tired to drive the rest of the way that night so I booked a room for $122. I got there and checked in and went to the room. I noticed that one of the beds had nasty stuff on the sheets and the fire alarm was disconnected and shoved into the sheet. I also noticed cigarette buds everywhere. It was gross!! I went to the desk and asked for new sheets and the guy said he can only give me the top sheet. So I said screw it I will go to sleep and wake up then leave. I was waken up at 5:30am to the hotel phone ringing. At first I thought it was a prank call. I answered the phone and all I could understand was a lady yelling "you need to leave now or you will be arrested. We have you on camera. This is not ok. Police have been called." I hung up and 30 seconds later they open the door(they didn't even knock or anything) they accused me of "breaking in" after I told them I payed for the room and I have a key card, she asked who gave that to me. I told her "who ever was working last night" and then she went on and on about how much trouble he was gonna be in because he gave me that room. I told her I didn't care what was gonna happen to the guy I wanted an explanation on why they felt the need to do this whole thing. She told me the room was never meant to be booked. They gave me a refund and gave me another room. I told her I was wanting to check out then she kept telling me check out is at 11 and she insisted that I stayed in the new room. After that I stayed 2 hours and then got out of there. I will never be staying at this place ever again and I really hope they get shut down because it's not safe there's cigarettes and other nasty things that you wouldn't see at a normal hotel. Oh where to start. I'm disabled and could not get a first floor or nothing to it near my car. I actually left a bag near the stairs and it's still there ! Lol The reason this place gets a 1 star is the cost and noise. I just called front desk and they told me to call the police. This place was horrible. There were people talking about robbing people. The staff didn't have my room available. They moved me to a less adequate room. I was in room 113. I don't usually complain, however here is the list of them. 1. There were obvious crime on property, there were prostitutes conducting business in the back corner. 2. The TV had two large white spots when the TV was on. 3. The room was dirty. 4. There were no Ice buckets. 5. We checked in about 5, We turned off the lights from 7 to about 10 when. my wife got back and as we turned on the lights we noticed roaches coming out from the walls. I stepped on one. I called the office. We decided we could not stay there. The night manager came down and said they wouldn't give us a refund. I started videoing and they said we would have to speak to the manager. I said great. After I started Videoing them stating that they wouldn't, We noticed the next door neighbors were also running out of their room. My stay here was okay, the area is a bit sketchy so I didn't feel very safe at night walking to my car, on the bright side there was a security on site which made me feel a bit better. I booked a non-smoking room but much to my dismay, my room smelled HEAVILY of smoke, so much that my nose was itching and I had a headache. It took a while to get an air freshener from the front desk, but once I did, the smell did get better. I liked the fact that they had air conditioning inside, and that thing works! Room was nice and cold in under 5 minutes. Also, Inez at the front desk, who checked me in, was really great! We chatted for a bit and she was very personable and courteous. My husband and I were on a road trip for our 10yr wedding anniversary and just needed a place to crash for a few hours on the way to going camping so I chose Motel 6 because it was affordable. Knowing Motel 6 wouldn't be fancy I called ahead and asked a favor, asking if someone could fold a towel in a heart or even just greet us with happy anniversary when we got there, any SMALL gesture to make it feel special, they happily agreed. Sade went leaps and bounds beyond my wildest imagination, she decorated the whole room, she put out flower petals and tea light candles, she customized a poem and printed it on the table, she also made us a certificate that was laminated, I was more than blown away, it felt so special, it's a memory I will never forget. Most generous customer service I have ever recieved at any hotel at any price point, Sade is a bright light in a world of dim customer service. I'm not a big fan of Motels, but this was the closest ones to my relatives for my visit. Their customer service was by far really great and exceptional. The girl at the front desk made sure I was taken care of before me and my brother checked in. We had two other friends with us and they at first could not get us at least next door to each other, but as we were settling in one of the workers called the motel phone and said they were able to do so and also even came upstairs to give us to key. So, I thought that was awesome of them to do that. The room was typical with your small tv and standard size beds so it was not so bad. If there had to be a downside, it would be that there was no ice machine (I wasn't able to get to one if there was one) and no fridge. Everything else though was fine. Everyone seemed helpful and very professional. So, if I needed a place to stay for future visits, this would probably be a first choice because of the location. read more

I have to say they were very professional, friendly, the hotel was in a good area close to food and gas the rooms were clean and we'll keep. The small old tv was a let down but im used to 50 inch HDTV Buy really comfortable beds.. thank god! so no biggie. I did have one issue, the guest above us were loud and up all night as if on spring break. It was a sunday. I finally got angry enough to go to the office and complain, they apologized and immediately gave me a second room at no cost. The next day the office called me to appoligize again and inform me that the occupants of the room above mine were being asked to leave and we're not being allowed to say at their hotel again. Just a word of advice, do not stay in room 137! It was an avenue of people going to the ice maker and chatting loudly. The hotel itself is fine, located in a better area than the other one in Stockton. With the AARP discount $50 is a real deal and the dog in the room free is awesome! Tired and extremely exhausted...we stopped here cause we've had great experiences with other Motel 6's the only reason they got two stars is because nothing was stolen from our trailer. But from the beginning I wasn't sure about the stay. The place was suspicious and we saw a lot of things I won't mention cause I don't want no problems. Not clean didn't feel safe couldn't sleep at all. I stayed up all night constantly looking out the window. Cars coming and going police patrolled it early in the morning. We checked in at 10:30 pm checked out by 7 am didn't feel like being there one second longer. The staff wasn't friendly only the security at night maybe that's why nothing was stolen. But go somewhere else this motel isn't for family! read more

I made sure to select a non smoking room when I made the reservation. When we walked into the room, the cigarette smoke smell was so strong we turned around and drove to a grocery store to buy 2 candles. When we got back to the room, we left the door open for about 2 hours to try to air it out, and we let the candles burn all night. We did find an ash tray in the room with a no smoking sign on it. By the time we woke up in the morning, the cigarette smell was almost completely masked. All of my packed clothing had a strong smell of cigarettes for the rest of our trip, even though we only stayed one night. They supplied our room with 2 bath towels, and one of the had what looked like "personal" hair stuck all over it. The bathroom floor had caulking on it in places where the floor tiles had been broken (instead of re-tiling the floor). I was disappointed read more

Terrible customer service past 1am-- warning, folks: if you arrive even 5 blasted minutes before 5am, they count it as the day before and make you check out that same day at 12pm. The inept clerk didn't tell us and there was no sign saying so, and all they could offer us to stay til the next day was a 50% discount and free regular Wi-fi. Manager wasn't even on site and the clerks were stubborn and claimed they were well-trained, but I disagree. The customer service phone lines are impossible to navigate to reach a person, and I didn't bother to waste my energy emailing anyone. The actual room was non-smoking but still stank of smoke, there were stains on our sheets when we arrived in the room, and cigarette butt burn holes in the blankets. No shampoo or conditioner or body wash, just a bar of soap. Wi-fi didn't work even with the pw. We barely slept because walls were so thin and heater was so loud. I would honestly give this a no star because of the fact I had to pay full price for a room that wasint even liveable. Bloody foot prints and blood on the walls are not something I would like to even stand by let alone rent a nights stay in. I booked in advance and went there having to wait another couple hours because my room wasint ready. Receiving a different room was worse the bed was sunken in with a big hole smelt like smoke and it was no smokeing I Couldn't even bare the nights stay this experience was completely unacceptable and didn't even receive a small discount for staying in this establishment and facing the things I faced. I booked my daughter here for a three day stay so she could be near her daughter who was having surgery the next morning. It started fine with the front desk person being very personable and friendly. However, the next day when my daughter returned from the hospital the electronic key was not working. She went to the office to get a new key and the office staff refused to give her one saying she wasn't the registered guest. (We both were at the front desk when we checked in and the desk clerk did not ask for her name at that time.) My daughter called me in tears because the General Manager, a vile woman if you ask me, was there and was treating her in a very mean and demeaning way and refusing her access to her room! I was at work, a 2 hour drive away. I explained who I was and who my daughter was but she adamantly refused to give my daughter access to the room. BTW She was very rude to me over the phone as well. My daughter had no where to go at that time and so she waited there to keep an eye on the room as I would not be able to get there for at least 3 hours (I still had an hour of work left before I could leave) Well, the General Manager called the police on my daughter! She was told to leave by the police, so my daughter was left to wander around Stockton in a very unsafe area of town. Needless to say this has totally traumatized my daughter! I have never had such horrifying treatment by a motel EVER in my life. This place is a disgrace and an insult. btw, I called their customer service line and was told that it was Motel 6 policy to not give a key to a non registered guest. If this is so, then the Clerk should have asked for my daughters name to put it on the register since I was very clear that the room was for her. So, after an exhausting day at work, I had make a four hour drive (round trip) to pick up my daughter and her things from the room. I will not EVER book a room here again and perhaps never at another Motel 6 since their policy has caused such sever trauma in my family's life, I would also like my money back for the second night we did not use the room due to their cruel and insensitive treatment. The staff made no attempt to accommodate me when you expressed concern they didn't even seem to care. Items stolen from our trailer even while they had a security guard supposedly patrolling. Later we learned he had two properties to Monitor, and obviously didn't monitor our belongings. Very very distressed. Staff just gave apologies, no helpful reimbursement. Otherwise the staff was very helpful, the room was fairly quiet and nicely abortion. The area is not bad, actually a good area filled with places to eat and stores nearby. The bathroom did however stink from smoke, which is why I am rating this hotel 3 stars. Considering that this place was a little over $100 for 2 nights (Thursday and Friday nights) while the rest of the decent hotels in Stockton were at least $80 per night, you can't expect too much. But, I was pleasantly surprised when I opened the door to my temporary home and saw that the room was quite clean! The front desk staff was adequate and the room was exactly what I needed - a place to sleep. Don't expect too much in the way of amenities: there was no breakfast (just coffee) or any other extra with the room, but I really feel I got a lot considering what I paid. Let's just say it was good that I brought my own ironing board and iron, cause my clothes had some serious wrinkles, and there was no iron in the room. The air conditioning worked well, especially in the Stockton heat, and there was a liquor store and a Pizza Guy's right across the street. Everything else in Stockton was a short ride down I-5. This place had mixed reviews and the price was right, so we decided to give it a try. Big mistake! --The room reeks of smoke, both of the cigarette and marijuana variety. The whole of the hotel grounds, lobby and parking lot reek of weed, actually, so if you don't enjoy the smell, you will have a hard time. What is with the no smoking room still having an ashtray in it? --There was a hole (looked like a cigarette burn) in the bedspread of our bed. --There were what appeared to be blood stains on the bathroom floor and door. --Terrible housekeeping! The laminate floors are dirty (our socks were filthy after walking on them), there were cobwebs in the corners of the room (my husband had to kill a spider, in fact), the sheets were clearly not washed (easy to tell because they were full of grit and hair). Also, although our reservation was for two people and our room was stocked with two towels, there was only one washcloth. How does that make any sense? In addition, there was half a role of toilet paper in the room when we arrived, and no spare roll out as is typical. We had to ask for another roll at the front desk. --The walls are paper thin! The first night we stayed there was a couple having very loud sex and we could hear everything, and although the motel is not right on the freeway the traffic noise was extremely loud. Although were were on the second floor so at least there was no stomping above us, you could still hear anyone walking around outside. Someone on the second floor was running the second night, and for a minute we literally thought there was an earthquake. --There is an extra fee for Wifi. Seriously. When we called asking for the Wifi code we were told it was a charge of $2.99. Also, forget any other standard amenities that motels normally come with. No tiny bottles of shampoo, conditioner or lotion; no shower caps. --We generally prefer if we are staying more than one night to put the "Do Not Disturb" sign out rather than having someone come in our room each day. Except this motel does not have any "Do Not Disturb" signs. Wtf? --We were out and about all day the day after we checked in, and we returned to discover that our key had been deactivated, even though our reservation was for two nights. So even though I had to go to the bathroom very badly, we still had to trek to the front desk and wait in line to get our key to work again so we could get into the room we had already paid for. So why does it get two starts and not one, you ask? Two reasons: 1) The young man at the front desk when we arrived. He was friendly, conversational, staying calm and doing his best even though he was super busy when we arrived, and made us feel welcome and comfortable. 2) When we complained about the blood stains and the unwashed sheets to the morning manager the next day she gave us a $20 credit. Nonetheless, we will definitely NOT be returning to this place and I would not recommend it to anyone else either. read more
