They told us this is the best hotel in Stockton. It's pretty old as compared to all the other hiltons I have been at. Staff was really good. Very courteous. Same with the staff for the morning breakfast service. They remembered what we ordered the day before, came in to checkin on the next few days we were there and provided excellent service. It's conveniently located and has everything you'd expect from a Hilton -- a welcoming lobby, a good on-site restaurant, and plenty of parking. The rooms appear to have been recently renovated, which was a pleasant surprise. They're spacious, modern, and comfortable, with updated furnishings and a fresh overall feel. The beds are excellent, and everything felt tidy and well cared for. That said, the hotel still uses the older 2008-style keycard readers, which feel a bit outdated compared to the rest of the upgrades. It's not a major issue, but it's noticeable -- especially since many other Hilton properties have switched to contactless or app-based entry systems. My only real complaint is that one of the two elevators was out of service for my entire three-night stay, which led to longer waits at certain times. Additionally, while this hotel is located in a better part of Stockton compared to some other areas, I did notice one evening that a homeless individual was sleeping in one of the automatic door lobbies. My girlfriend recommended this hotel near her home to stay overnight after a late night party at her house. The staff here were extra kind both at the front desk, housekeeping as well for breakfast. This was definitely a renovated older building, but the room was nice comfortable sheets, and fluffy pillows. The bathroom was a little small and only had a shower no bathtub, but it was still very nice. It was it's not too far from the freeway and close to restaurants outside of the hotel as well. This was one of my worst hotel stays. There were kids running in the hallways and screaming at 9pm. We were asked to go down to the front desk to get our own towels The room had a funky oder, someone who didn't register their vehicle on the premises hit our rental car no damage but they pulled right up bumper to bumper with our car. They hotel staff couldn't review the camera to give us any info on whos car it was. The breakfast buffet was mot desirable at all for $15.95 it was a lack luster. Upon check out the lazy lady at the front desk could not print us out a final receipt. That was at 2am I live in Los Angeles so I'm back home it's 2pm and still no email with my final receipt. For a Hilton we were very disappointed. I would jot stay here again. My cousins down the street at the LaQuinta Inn had a better stay than we did. read more

I woke up in my room at 11:30 due to noise coming from lobby(not their fault big open space that echoes). When I turned on the light I saw a huge roach on the wall about a foot from my head and when I jerked away another one move on top of the bed covers on the other side from me. Nope, after only being in the hotel for about 5 hours i quickly packed and went downstairs to the desk to leave. I can't sleep in a room with roaches. I requested an immediate checkout with a refund that 1st day. Two people at the front desk one said "I can't check you out, I can only send a request to my supervisor tomorrow asking her to check you out". The other added "you can't check out because you haven't waited and followed our maintenance procedure". So the Hilton Stockton told me I couldn't leave because I wouldn't wait for maintenance to go look for the bugs themselves at midnight. I had to leave and book another hotel 30 minutes away and lose even more sleep. The next day I looked on the app at 1pm and they had not checked me out and were still going to charge me for not only the bug infested 1st night but two more. As a hilton honors gold member I had to stay on the phone for over an hour begging Hilton to "ask" the location manager if they would agree to check me out and give a refund because Hilton cannot do anything for me unless the hotel with roaches agrees to check me out. After over an hour and talking to two different managers I finally got a refund and when I asked if they could do any better than the 20000 points they offered... "I was told in a very snotty voice that, they had adked for and gotten me a refund and that was sufficient, they didn't owe me anything at all" Moral of the story: If you stay at the Hilton Stockton and complain about ths roaches on your bed and near your face, you have to qait until they follow their procedures for roaches(How often foes this happen??). before you are "allowed" to leave. If you're a loyal Hilton Gold member, you should expect to beg corporate for over an hour to ask for a refund and remember that they don't owe you anything read more

Decent hotel in Stockton. Rooms were clean and service was good. The gal at the front desk provided excellent service. I wish I took better note of what her name was - Farisha Yung or Jung? Haha Anyway, she was great. During our stay at Hilton Stockton, we attended a lunch banquet on the second floor. The food and service there was excellent which made for a great event. HOWEVER, the air conditioning in the lobby was broken. With triple digits outside, the lobby was a hot, musty mess. Days after the event, at least 20 people (that I know of) tested positive for COVID - people who attended the event from different households and even different states! No bueno! I wouldn't be surprised if some of the workers tested positive that week too! That said, I hope Hilton Stockton gets their air conditioner in the lobby soon. read more

Update to my review from a few years ago. I haven't been back here since the pandemic but just stayed here last week. They have redone alot of the rooms and being a Diamond Member I was upgraded to the Executive Level on the 5th floor where the rooms were newly refurbished. Everything looks great and customer service at the desk was great. A couple of issues I have. The message on the air conditioner shows not to set it below 69 degrees which is ridiculous. I'm someone who sleeps with 65 degree temps so that does not work for me. They should have a system that allows AC to function well at lower temperatures. I understand saving energy but I'm not going to not sleep comfortably at a hotel. Also I have noticed less and less benefits for Diamond members since the pandemic. No more executive lounge at this location (and others) only a $15 meal credit which is not helpful given there is only one restaurant open for dinner and it's a bar with bar food. The lounge was one of the great benefits we had. Other than that it's in a good location, parking is free, lobby is nice with a Starbucks for the morning. Big thing for me is soft sheets and they were great! I will stay here again for sure. read more

We booked an event at the Hilton expecting an elevated experience/service but did not receive an elevated experience/service. Very disappointing. We paid to have 153 guests fed, but when they didn't provide food for 153 guests they accused us for having more guests than we paid for. The "captain" was very unprofessional. She approached the situation with accusations and behaved confrontational rather than seeking and offering solutions to the problem. They use this system of color coded cards to identify how many chicken and beef to bring out and if we don't have them out they don't serve, which is absolutely unacceptable. We paid for a total of 153 guests, we should be provided enough food to serve 153 guest. They should count their plates, chairs, and even the servers tally sheet before they approached us in the manner they did. Also, Carolina, the catering and sales manager told us that we can provide food for our volunteers but half way into the event their drinks went missing. No one was made aware the staffs at the Hilton took them. At the end of the day the captain comes over to us and sets the drinks on the ground and tells us, "these are yours". When pointed out that she was the one who took them She once again was confrontational, said we weren't allowed to bring drinks in, that the volunteers knew where they were, and that it was Carolina that took them so speak with her if we have a problem. Horrible experience. Never again will we ever book an event at this Stockton Hilton and definitely won't be recommending them. read more

Definitely call ahead, been here several times and the elevator has not been working. Staff is friendly & rooms are clean. It's an old place that has been updated. Probably one of the better places to stay in Stockton. I loved being able to use the app to check in and communicate with the staff before arriving. All of the staff were very kind and helpful. They earned 5 stars! The three stars had to do with the cleanliness of the room. The surfaces of the drawers, desk and night tables were dusty. So were the lampshades. I had to clean debris from the bathroom sink and the shower had long black hair strands on the shower wall and in the tub. Thankfully, I carry my cleaning supplies when I travel because I had to clean the whole room. I left the hair in the shower The room was nicely appointed. However, the bathroom was pretty small for two people. I would still stay here when needed for an event in Stockton. Because the staff was so responsive and kind I'm sure I could let them know if there was an issue. Another concern I had was the hotel room doors. All through the night other patrons released their doors which slammed shut with a big bang. This was very unsettling for a light sleeper like myself. We stayed at the hotel because our niece was getting married at the Brookside Country Club down the street. It was nice it was very close and made it convenient. Lobby was beautiful. Check in was quick. Staff was kind. We stayed on the second floor and the room was more on the older side than new. While there, they were remodeling the third floor. I think they are working from top to bottom possibly because a relative staying on the 4th floor said their room was nice and not old like ours. The little side table by the sliding door was pretty filthy. Sticky residue was under the tray on the table so you can tell the room was not cleaned well. It was nice they had a mini fridge. We stay at the Hilton Stockton every couple years for a convention for a philanthropic organization they belong to. In n planning the convention -- meeting rooms, banquet, etc. we always work with Jennifer and she has always been helpful and effective. The rooms are clean, updated and comfortable. All the staff are friendly and helpful. This time, we had three breakfasts with our Hilton honors and we received excellent service from Diana and Rosie. If you're expecting a Hilton like the one in Union square SF, be prepared to lower your standards because this place is nothing like that. As per Covid standards, they had extra masks + alcohol wipes at the front desk for you if you needed them. There were also several stations with hand sanitizer so you could squirt up should you feel the need. In the elevator, there was also a handy pump in there to use if you wanted to make sure your fingers were okay after pressing the buttons. The entire hotel almost reminded me of an Embassy Suites on the inside with the lobby and the glass elevators going up to the 5th floor facing the inside where they had lots of plants and a rock waterfall. Once we got into the room, it was a different story. They had a handy sticker to say that they took *extra* precautions to sanitize and clean everything. Immediately I had to use the bathroom and I noticed instantly that the light switch in the bathroom had brown stains on it. As I emptied my bladder, I looked down to see that there was a poop splatter on top inner rim of the bowl. This is Stockton after all so after some debate I decided to let it go and cleaned off the light switch myself. We were only staying for one night and it's not like we could have been upgraded to a nicer room since we were already on their *executive floor*. The beds themselves were comfy (right in between soft and firm) but the pillows are not like the Marriott pillows that are super huggable and plush. Warning: The walls are paper thing so you can hear *everything*. Conversations, TVs, kids screaming and playing. The great thing about the room was that we had a little balcony that opened up with a sliding glass door so that we could look down into the courtyard and pool. It's too bad that the the pool wasn't open because of Covid-- hopefully it will get back to normal soon. The continental breakfast was weak- They packaged it in paper boxes that were much like oversized McDonald's happy meal boxes but inside were overly ripe bananas, yogurt, milk and some basic cereal. We ended up taking the extra box to my friend's daughter who loved opening it up and eating the Cheerios that came with it. To be fair, this is Stockton and you can't expect a 5 star hotel out here but it was a good stay for what it was. read more

I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone. The room had roaches, cigarette butts on the floor, and worst of all--signs of bed bugs. It was clear the place hadn't been properly cleaned in a long time. This is a great hotel. I stay here at least once a year, and I have never once had an issue. The staff is kind and attentive, and the beds are awesome. One of my pet peeves is the shapeless pillows that so many hotels use. As soon as you lay your head on them they go completely flat. The pillows here are fabulous. I actually leave mine at home when I come here, a rarity for sure. The lobby area is gorgeous, and the glass elevator overlooking it was fun for our son. I haven't eaten at the restaurant yet, so I can't speak to that. I was in town last night for a conference, and the lobby is so big and spacious that a group of friends and I were able to sit around until 3am catching up without disturbing anyone. Even considering what I was in town for, there were luggage carts available for use, which is often an issue when I travel. Their parking lot is pretty big, and the door is locked at night requiring a room key to enter. If I was to levy any criticism at all, it would be that all the doors on my hallways were pretty wrecked from luggage carts being pulled into the rooms. I'm not sure there's anything the hotel can do about that, it just looks kind of rough. It's certainly not enough to lose a star. read more

The employees that were on duty when we checked in were great. The next day during checkout was a complete 180º change in personality. They were indifferent and rude. This antiquated hotel is overpriced and impossible to sleep in. There is no way for people to close their doors quietly, so we were constantly plagued with BOOMS all day and night. The walls and floor even shake...and this isn't necessarily from nearby rooms. The bathroom was dirty and the sheets had some kind of weird staining on them. Normally we're very satisfied with Hilton properties, but during this trip we stayed at eight different Hilton hotels and only found one to be up to Hilton's normal standards. An extremely worn hotel. The front desk staff was super friendly and welcoming. My room however was stuck in the 1970's. The room decor was very stale. The carpeting was frayed, bathroom door rusted, desk chair worn out, and no bedside charging ports. Baseboards were filthy & dirty, Facility staff was working on the water supply. We stayed in Hilton for 6 months due to a business assignment. At that time, Covid hit hard on Stockton, so quests were few and parking lot was relatively empty. However, their service did not let down. Front desk workers were responsive and polite. We did not run into any problem so to speak during that 6 month' stay. I had the lovely opportunity to come to the Hilton Stockton courteously of my county job for three nights and 4 days. The Hilton has blown my expectations out the way. I do not know much about Stockton but my colleagues and natives who reside there was definitely giving me an ear full! Anywho, I love the location of this place as it was close to restaurants and shopping. Brandon checked me in and went above and beyond on his customer service. Anywho once I found my room on the third floor I ended and it was beautiful...the county hooked it up! The room was clean and smelled beautiful. Within 5 minutes they called me to make sure I was satisfied with the room...five thumbs up! Housekeeping kept my room up nice even after a mess occurred and cleaned it up swiftly without hesitation. The room was huge and there is a fridge. We used several conference rooms to conduct interviews for my county related roll so I really got to see how organized and awesome the Hotel is ran. Food was provided to us only lunch, which was delicious. The staff displayed the food so pretty! It was nice. I would highly recommend to stay at the Hilton as I felt very safe. My room also had a balcony too! I even locked myself out and everything was in the room so I just had to share my secret password or something that others would not know since I didn't have any identification on me which was in the room. They also has so many amenities to choose from. I enjoyed myself and would like to try out other Hilton's when I have the opportunity to do so. Pleasant stay, great staff and lovely room! We drove all day, arrived herein Stockton at about 4:00p for our Thanksgiving meal with our family just to find out that our Mom is in the hospital. We finally check in close to Midnight. We get up to our room and there are no plug ins for any of our electronic devices. We call to the front desk and Vanessa answers. Her response, "Yeah we don't have those." We are unplugging things just to charge our edevices. Vanessa didn't sound like she wanted to help. And honestly, maybe she couldn't, but at least sound like you care??? If we come back, we know to bring our own charging equipment. I don't think we've ever stayed in a hotel that is not "edevice charging friendly" since 2019. After staying there for 3 nights, we thought the mold-like smell would go away, but it didn't. We informed the clerk at the front desk and she was a bit dismissive. Initially we were told that they have secure cameras in the parking lot. I'm seriously disappointed with this hotel. I'm a local in Stockton, and me and the wife for our anniversary decided to get a room to spend the night away. First off the room we were given was stinking of marijuana, not our room but maybe one next to it brought the smell to it. We called to complain about it, and luckily they were able to switch our rooms. The hotel is supposed to be 100% non smoking. The new room was fine, but it was dirty and neglected. We went out to the balcony and there was spider webs all over the chairs and balcony. Also, that night we wanted to get an additional blanket, we called the front desk and were told housekeeping went home for the night. My wife had to go downstairs to get another blanket, that was so inconvenience for us. We went out to the pool and there was tree limbs all throughout. It's like no one cared to look at the details of the hotel. Being that it's a Hilton, we expected more, unfortunately disappointed.
