Place of course is not luxurious, but my room was clean and the air conditioning worked really well to keep my room cold the way I like it. It was only down the street from the Washington State Fair Center which I was attending for a convention. It was conveniently only a 5-minute walk. The lady at the front desk was extremely nice, and they provided free breakfast as well. Only docked one star because there is no soundproofing, and there was one night where I could not sleep because of neighboring renters were being too out throughout the night. You also apparently get discounted for booking with chatgpt which I didn't know was possible but I would absolutely not trust it. She was really kind and awesome. Back to the breakfast, we go up to the front where it is to meet a sign saying that breakfast was cancelled for today. No one in the room. It's the check-in/out counter. How do you just not have anyone there at 7:30am? People need to check out. Someone didnt come until 8 so everyone was just waiting. The workers here are great but that doesn't make up for shitty higher up management. They'll quit and work somewhere else but the same lazy people run this place. YOU DEFINITELY GET WHAY YOU PAY FOR... * the hotel looks rundown and sits right next to the freeway * it was probably the most uncomfortable bed I've ever slept on. Every day I woke up with back pain and neck pain. I'm pretty sure the floor would have been more comfortable. Even the pillows were awful. * virtually nothing was provided... tiny packets of shampoo (no conditioner), super basic coffee packets with one small packet of creamer. There was a sign to request other amenities if desired... but everything just felt as minimal as possible, like they spent less than $2 to stock the room. * the shower head was super short, I had to lean back to get my head under it * they say wifi is available, but they give zero information about it * there's people smoking on the balconies and walk areas * THERE IS NO BREAKFAST. It's a "grab and go" counter. There was rotting bananas, occasionally oranges, then a little set of shelves with some "aussie" bites, brownie bites, some various sugary cereal to-go containers. Then a small fridge with little things like juice or milk. Virtually zero protein, and tons of signs "only take one" of the littlest things. The last day I was here, they had *nothinG*! Do not expect to have breakfast here. * See pics below and zoom in... signs like this were *everywhere*, like they needed to nickel and dime you for every little thing. There weren't even any vending machines for food, just one for some drinks. I have stayed at this motel several times without incident. This time I booked it through hotels.com and everything was fine until I got home and saw several unauthorized charges to my credit card. It was easy to trace the charges back to the desk clerk. She had asked me for my card at check in even though I had paid through the Hotels.com site. It's not uncommon for a hotel to do this, but now I see I was suckered into giving her the card. The charges were $75 to Jack in the Box just down the street, and Pizza Hut for $100. I never used the card the entire weekend except for the motel. The so-called manager denied it could be any of his staff. He's in denial. If he would have done a legitimate investigation I would have moved on, but his denial when it's so obvious his staff, makes me feel I need to warn unsuspecting folks. The bank took care of the charges. I hope the staff enjoyed pigging out at my expense, but know this, you will eventually be caught. read more

Worst customer service I got there first night I booked a pet friendly room thru Expedia found out that I needed to call ahead (was not infirm) either way they accommodate me in a no pet room. the next day I asked to be put in a pet room for two nights they call me 12;57 pm and let m e know all good all I needed was to pay and pick up key card, later @ 7 pm another call that my room was cancel (I got the voice mail) and on top they charge me a deposit after they canceled I am dispute charges thru credit card company. We are out of town and had to sleep in my daughter's apartment floor hard to find place last minute. I stayed here for 2 nights, above all my worst complaint is the management. The head manager who never introduced himself was threatening me my entire stay, I was towed in after breaking down nearby, during the process of having my car moved he would send staff to come pester me about the vehicle, mind you it was a compact car that took up one space, I only occupied this space during my stay at this motel. The manager who never introduced himself constantly made it a point to cross paths with me to mention the car to me, he had to had mention it 9 or 10 times during my stay of 48 hours. Each time I would kindly remind him I'm paying to be here, and that my car is not in the way, or causing any problems. As we both were of the same heritage, he would refer to me as "brother" or even "boy" at times. This was very offensive. During my stay, fair illegal parking, drug addicts, and domestic abusers were allowed to run rampant, the management did little to nothing to control the situation. I would not recommend staying here, check out the motel across the street. I didn't stay there, but it has got to be better than this dump! read more

We travelled from out of town and planned to stay at this motel for the evening. Our room had bugs in the bathroom and bedroom areas. We vacated the room, informed the front desk about this issue, and made arrangements to stay overnight at a different hotel. I was instructed to speak to Louis, the manager, about these issues. He became hostile, told me I lied about the bug issue, and insulted me multiple times on the phone when I asked about possible remedies. This hotel is fairly nice brand new renovated floors, recently new flat screen HD TVs. Bed made with care! Bed confortable. Clean not a speck on the floor. Bathroom was fairly clean I notice a few spots on the bathtub but nothing to worry about. The room was smoke free and came with the basic mini fridge and microwave. The staff for this place is beyond great! The maids you can see put time into cleaning the rooms. And staff is extremely friendly all of them. This is a great place with clean and nice rooms and fairly cheap. This is a motel 8 like motel but not the cheap low quality of motel 8. read more

The Motel Puyallup is not the Ritz, and it's not supposed to be. It's a standard "mom & pop" property, with clean, comfortable rooms, the friendliest staff who will do whatever they can to make your stay enjoyable, and an awesomely convenient location within walking distance to the Fairgrounds. My mom and I journeyed here this weekend for the (always awesome) Sew Expo. We reserved our room a few months in advance - yes this place sells out during big events and yes, they were clear when we called that our card would be charged right away and that the room was non-refundable due to the Expo. They also specified that there was only an upstairs room available, which was fine. Well, fast-forward to this week and I injured my foot and ended up on crutches. I called the hotel and asked if there was a ground floor room available. The lady on the phone was so kind! She said they'd see what they could do. Two days later, another employee called us to let us know that they had shuffled things around so that we could get a room on the first floor. Talk about service! After a full day at the Expo (thank you to whoever invented the knee scooter!), we checked in at the motel and found our room to be larger than expected. It was also impeccably clean. The beds were comfortable (they recently purchased all new linens), and the room had enough space for our sewing machine and all the other cr*p we dragged in from the Expo. Later, we ordered takeout Thai food only to discover the restaurant didn't supply plates or utensils. The nice gentleman at the front desk was happy to give us some. We slept well and this morning enjoyed their free continental breakfast before heading back to the Expo. In fact, I'm munching on a croissant and a banana while writing this review! Is this the most modern hotel on the planet? No. Is the decor a little dated? Yes. Was it clean? Did we feel safe? Were we treated well? Yes, yes, yes. Will we be back next year? Definitely. And since I just learned about several more upgrades the new owners are planning this year, I'll look forward to seeing what changes are ahead for this cute little place. Yes, I'm giving it 5 stars. This is probably the worst place I have ever stayed! When we checked in the staff was polite. We went to our room then headed to the fair. We returned after a long day at the fair and the evening concert. The beverages we had put in the fridge weren't cold. We went to bed. When I went to the bathroom in the middle of the night I stepped barefoot on tack strip. OUCH! There was no in room coffee so, I went to the lobby to get some in the morning and told the staff of the issues. They really didn't seem concerned at all. I wasn't very impressed but figured it had worked for a place to sleep. A few days later I had itchy spots appearing on my body. My fiance also had some. I thought it was an allergic reaction to something. It got so bad I finally went to the Dr. low and behold it was bites from BED BUGS!!! The only place we have been was this motel. This is the second time I've stayed here in 2 years. Both times have been a comfortable stay. The prices are reasonable with weekly rates available. This is a good Motel that has nice, clean rooms, comfy beds and a great, friendly staff, As an added bonus, and I absolutely love this about this place, there's a restaurant in the parking lot that serves good food. There's also a bus stop right in front of the restaurant to take you to the Mall on the hill or downtown Puyallup. I don't really have to rent a car to get around. It's close to the Puyallup Fairgrounds, you're in walking distance from that. This place is not only a good place to spend the night, it has many conveniences. Anytime I return to Puyallup in the future, I plan to stay here. Just like I did the last 2 times. read more

I had a very pleasant experience staying at motel puyallup. Initially I wasn't sure what to expect. But it was nice when it ended up exceeding my expectations. Its a very down to earth kind of motel. If youre looking for a 5 star fancy pants place to stay, well this ain't it. BUT for me that's perfect and honestly what I prefer. The room was very cozy, very clean and well taken care of. I felt very homey which is an unusual experience for me inside of a motel room. I would stay here again. You honestly can't beat the price for what you get. I never had any issues with noise. But that could be due to the fact that when we stayed it wasn't overly busy or crowded. I cant attest to staying here during the fair times or anything like that. read more

I was charged $22 after I checked out because the towels were dirty. The fact that during my four day stay I could never get the housekeepers to come and clean the room and change the towels had no impact on the front desk manager whom I called to ask to reverse the charge. It has been my experience that towels get dirty, and then they are cleaned (and the towels they provide can only charitably called towels in the first place...think gas station restroom.) This motel is poorly run, the staff could care less about the customer's opinion, it is yards from a busy, noisy freeway and plagued by constant traffic and low life guests (present company excluded) and it should be avoided at all costs. I told the credit card company to decline the charge and tell Motel Puyallup to go pound sand, close to where they likely wash their towels in a murky flowing stream. read more

The door to the room had a huge gap to where you can hear everything in the hallway. There were kids that belong to the owners who were running around. We had to take the lid off the tank and "fix" it every flush. Horribly annoying. The beds and room were clean enough to the naked eye...I would be nervous to check with a black light though. Hmm, that was weird; usually motels just keep the number in case you don't show up. Two months before my stay I canceled the reservation, asked for my money back. They told me it was "non-refundable" even two months in advance. I've done business with plenty of hotels and motels, canceled plenty of reservations, never heard that before. Well.....the first two nights were great! But the last one, one of the worst nights sleep I've had in a long time! 2am rolls around and I wake up to use the restroom and then outside for a quick smoke. Well as I open my door, here is a drunk 50 something year old man trying to open my door!! So I calmly ask him what he is doing. And he responds "well they gave me this card and I don't know which door so I'm just trying all of them" ............excuse me! What!? It's 2am your bothering people and are going to get yourself shot trying to open random doors! I am here by myself so I carry protection, and apparently rightly so with the crowd it attracts! So I close the door and call the front desk to report an older very drunk man trying to open doors. She says yes I just rented him a room and gave him his key, I will go help him. Ok cool. I've been drunk many of times, I get it, get to your room and go to sleep. Oh no no no, not the end. I go outside to smoke and now there is a small crowd of drunk people. They are yelling laughing dropping things slamming doors, carrying around a 12 pack drinking beers, one zipping his pants up peeing right into the bush right in front of someone's room! So, I know, sound like a party pooper right, well I'm sorry, I'm guilty of being loud like that to once before, but that was in my early early 20's not something I'd expect from 40-50yr olds. So I go back inside and call again and let her know they are dropping things super loud, drinking beer like it's a open bar, peeing right out the front door pretty much, total disregard or respect for anyone around them, and there are way more than just 2 people in the room. So she says ok I will tell them they need to be quit. Ok cool! Party on but let's not wake EVERYONE UP! So then yes they quit yelling and slamming/throwing whatever the hell they were doing and then decided to just all be outside right in front of others people's room windows and drink beer and smoke. I turned the tv on and turned it up louder, still clear as day as they were in the room! So "F" it! I'm wide awake now! It's now 2:30-45am I call again. Telling here they are all just standing right out in front of the windows talking loud being rude, one of them I hear clear as day "ah "F" it I'm gonna pee right here. I.E the bush right out my door. ( Thanks A hole. You could have went to the side of the building or the dumpster that was 100ft away. ) She tells me he ( the drunk old man ) just left the office two seconds ago and told him if they got any more complaints they'd have to leave.....ok well this is the third time I've called, and another complaint. So I told her well I'm just gonna start packing and leave. She says "no I'm sorry, um I will talk to them again" Whatever, she does. You think they leave, or be more quiet....nope! Right back at it. So screw it! Done calling! They are not gonna do a thing. And I'm sure some of you are oh well why didn't you say anything. Well I was going to until I saw how many rude rude people there were and how drunk they all were. I also am a young female, super small 5'1", and disabled, I can't do much to protect my self physically if something happens. And also that's not my job that's not what I paid for a room for. It is now 3:30am I've showered and started packing to leave, and called my ride for an early pick up. I do feel bad for the gal as that's a tuff situation with a bunch of drunk people, but Management needs to go over what to do in this situation with rowdy, loud guests with the staff. I very much doubt I was the only one who called. My stay was great up to that point. The room actually surprised me, I thought it would be more....ghetto, I guess. The doors are old and can be a bit hard to close. Ok positives: All of the staff were super friendly, and helpful. The allow dogs, with no restrictions, for a small nightly fee. The do serve breakfast but it is not continental, more doughnuts and muffins. The have an onsite laundry, worked great. The AC works well. And Jason's restaurant is just across the parking lot. I personally will never stay at this motel again. But if you are visiting puyallup, and want to be close to downtown you can walk there, and your on a budget. This is not a bad place to go. I know I got some bad luck but the other two nights were great. I'm upset it doesn't seem the manger taught the employees what to do in this situation. My suggestion for management is, you do not want to retain customers that only bring your business down and are unruly. Maybe make a 2nd warning and goodbye not 4. Because now I'm leaving, and not ever coming back, I will stay else where next time. read more
