We mostly stay at large chain hotels, but this place was great as far as location, friendly staff and rooms goes but they really offer no breakfast here, just coffee and wrapped sweets! We had to go to Auntie's for breakfast everyday. read more

Was in town for a weekend trip and made reservations very far in advance. Got here and everything seemed pretty clean at first but we quickly found old food left in the mini fridge and a dead bug in the sheets of one of the beds that left a stain. We called the lobby and they said they'd find us a new room. No word from customer service for an hour after that so we called back and they said there was no other room for us so we asked if they could change the sheets for us. In return we got questions like "Are you sure you saw a dead bug?" Yes. there was in fact a dead bug, and we did take a photo of it. UPDATE: We left for dinner 2 hours after they said they'd change the sheets and still never came to do so. We didn't return until 9:30 that night, five and a half hours after calling the front desk and still no room service because the cleaning lady's left early that night and the manager was out of town. Sure enough, dead bug stain was still there. Went to the front desk to ask why the sheets still weren't changed and they said we weren't there when they went change them. I'm still not sure why that kept them from changing them. They just handed us the sheets to change them ourselves. The worst part of this hotel isn't the fact that the rooms aren't clean, it's the horrible customer service. read more

This hotel is more like a motel. The room I checked in had a shower covered in water marks and calcium. There were no smoking signs in every room in my hallway, but there was still an odor through the hallway. The smell of strong cleaning agent was just as unpleasant. During my the night I stayed, I heard loud knocking on a door close to my room all because a woman was locked out of her own room and she was trying to get her husband or boyfriend to open the door. The knocking lasted for nearly 15 minutes. I also heard each and every flush from adjacent rooms. I will never book with them again. read more

I love this place. It's very clean, affordable and the rooms are very, very spacious. It's almost like having your own little studio apartment. I've been here for a week and a half and I'm finishing up a 2 week period and heading off. If you need somewhere to stay for a longer term, check in here. .nice place to stretch out & use the sofa, watch TV, microwave food this is your place! it's kind of like Grandma's little backyard guest house in an affordable hotel I love it and I'll always recommend this to people who need somewhere, spacious, safe & affordable. First thing when you walk in is a nasty humid smell, get to room even worse smell, excessive cleaner smell hard to breath... after a very long drive and very busy day afterwards we we expecting to come back to hotel and relax.. the beds are litteraly he worse beds I've ever laid on, the tv is about 20" which is good enough for the kids, the bathroom wasn't cleaned very well, 3used soap bars left in the shower, we had to ask for soap, 1 coffee packet, in all honesty it should be called a motel not a hotel. read more

I have stayed here twice now and it is an awesome place! I live in Kent and there is remodeling going on at my condo and the noise can be a bit much. I will probably stay here a few more times. I wouldn't recommend staying on the ground floor as you will hear every footstep of the guests above you. I stayed 4 nights mainly because it was convenient to visit family nearby. The surrounding area is very quiet at night but the room was not quiet. Good wifi, good coffee in the lobby, fair breakfast (bagel, toast, waffles, yogurt only). read more

I booked a 3 night stay here based on the Yelp reviews. I just asked for a simple, one-bedroom room. I got a kitchenette suite with a living room couch/TV setup. I could seriously live in a place like that. Good water pressure, pretty quiet overall - except during the blackout (the whole greater Seattle area was affected). Location is near the airport, though a bit far from either Seattle or Tacoma. Anything you need is a walk or short drive away. Standard stuff - continental breakfast and wifi included. Overall, absolutely no complaint about the place. So I have to conclude that it gets 5 stars. read more

If I were Bubbles from "Trailer Park Boys," I would definitely say this is "Decent." About 15 minutes to SeaTac from here. Handful of good restaurants a short walk away. Had a king room with sleeper sofa. The room was HUGE! Nearly every HBO channel on the TV. WiFi actually worked really well. Comfy bed. Remodeled bathroom, which oddly, had no shelf to put your soap bottles (what's up with that?). Don't expect a gourmet breakfast. Waffles (standard), cereal, some muffins. Good coffee though. I would say appearances are a little outdated, but they've also maintained the place well and it's still comfortable. All in all was pleased. read more

Do not stay here unless you want to stay in a disgusting hotel and have lies told to your bank when you refuse to stay! We checked in to this place on August 1, 2019 and had to pay for a full 5 day stay before we were given access to the room. Red Flag! Within 20 minutes we were asking for another room. Our room's phone had the wire cut, the restroom looked like someone had used it, there was dust everywhere. This room looked like it had not been cleaned in a long time. When we asked for another room we were told they were sold out and didn't have another room, which seemed odd since we had reduced our reservations from 2 rooms to 1 a few hours prior to arrival.When we left the room to go to the lobby we took pictures of what appeared to be dog shit on the carpet in front of the room next door, which wasn't there when we went into our room. We told the lady at the front counter about the shit on the carpet and we were told only the "boss" could do something for us and he would not be there until the next day. We told the young lady the room was disgusting and could not stay even 1 night. She said she was sorry but did not offer any other option. We then checked out and were told they do not give any proof of check out or receipt when leaving. Another Red Flag! By this time we had already contacted our bank and asked how to fight this charge, if they did in fact try to charge us. Now three months later we are still fighting the full 5 day charge and they have even sent my bank fake documents supposedly showing we stayed for 5 days! Good thing for us we have proof of our stay in a Red roof Inn that we stayed at across town for the same time frame. Believe me this is the first review of many complaints to come, from the city of Des Moines Washington to Google to anywhere else, as long as this place keeps trying to steal from us, we will fight them to the end!!! read more

The employees greeting you at the desk were very nice and the price of my room was reasonable but we discovered a large amount of sugar ants in the room and asked to be moved upstairs. The staff downplayed the ant problem, like it was no big deal, but while I was discussing it at the front desk a very large black ant walked right across the front lobby floor. In addition, the pillows in the rooms are small and cheap. I would discourage anyone from staying there. If there are ants in one room there are ants in all the rooms read more

This is a nice little hotel located just south of Seattle in Des Moines Washington. It is a bit on the older side and could use some updating but all and all it was a nice room with plenty of space in it. The room comes with a free breakfast, free wifi and are located in a quite part of town. The best part is the price. This was probably $30 cheaper than any comparably equipped hotel in the Seattle area and is 15 miles from downtown Seattle. If I need to stay in the Seattle area again I will try to stay here. read more

Since there are no options really in Des Moines we stayed for 4 days at the Marina Inn, the room was so dirty hair balls, food and sand on the floors. I found the maid down the hall who swept the floor filling her dust pan and started to leave I made her come back and mop the floors. Day 2 no one cleaned our room at all , no coffee we had to go ask for towels and a light bulb for the bath room I might add that the floors were still sandy. Day one breakfast 8:30 am no coffee, no waffle batter the employee was sitting on the lobby couch reading magazines. We waited for ten minutes while the gal made coffee and waffle batter. The Juice was apple who drinks apple juice for breakfast? The breakfast was joke it consisted of waffles, surup, apple juice, coffee, apples, yogurt and bagels. Not what I am used to. Day 3, 4 pm went to the lobby and complained about room as it had not been cleaned we had no coffee again no towels floor still not cleaned and no light bulb in bathroom??? Day 4 we had towels clean sheets, dirty floor no light bulb. Honestly disappointed. We had three rooms in your hotel all of us had the same problem , we went else where for breakfast. This hotel really needs to take a look at its self I can deal with most anything but cleanliness is really really important. Not going back any time soon, sad...... read more

I forgot to add this review earlier. I don't review at all but the hospitality and friendliness of the staff prompted me to do so! I stayed here for a job interview I had in the morning..arrived late the night before around midnight and had the interview at 8 AM so it was a quick stay. The room was clean and simple, all I needed for a short sleep. But the man in charge was so incredibly nice! He made an awesome breakfast that saved me for my long interview process and great coffee. As I had to leave in my Uber, I realize I didn't have cash for a water for the vending machine. The man wished me luck and got me a water himself. So kind! Would recommend. read more

Des Moines is only as good as the place you stayed in. Shem is a good host and so is his staff. The rates are very reasonable considering near the pier, close to airport and his shuttle service, rooms are above ave but for me being close to middle class, I say EXCELLENT. Now the tv is below ave, but we barely use it, just for the news. We did NOT come here for the tv! Breakfast is above average and they keep an eye on it, whatever needs to be replenished. Pros - Great staff. Clean hotel. Jacuzzi tub works. Excellent internet service (way better than ANY resort hotel I've been in ). Great price! Cons - Jacuzzi room has no door to the bathroom, shower stall is very small, and no storage for your bathroom items. Bed was okay but not all that comfortable. I would def. stay here again. The fact that the price is so good for what you get, it's clean, quiet, and friendly staff. It makes a difference. I don't need anything fancy when I travel. The Marina Inn provides a clean, spacious room with plenty of amenities and a nice view of the Puget Sound. Des Moines is a sleepy and quiet town, which makes it great for relaxing. The price was awesome in July 2011. Free continental breakfast, wi-fi, fridge and microwave in room. For a small fee, they will drive you to and from the airport and you can leave your vehicle parked at the hotel for one week. read more

This place was a "sleeper" hit for me. My one-bed room was very spacious, clean, and quiet--complete with a mini fridge and microwave and HBO on TV. The entire motel was so quiet and I barely saw any other guests--which made it more enjoyable and peaceful for me. The free breakfast is also quite good: fruit, yogurt, pastries, toast, cereal, juice AND a waffle maker! The only downside is that one of the staff members was a bit curt with me while I checked out. Also, the location isn't ideal if you plan to spend a lot of time in Seattle. This motel is a half hour ride south of the city, near the airport. read more

The second floor King room was clean and quiet but check in was weird (nobody was around - I called "0" on the phone to summon help, as the sign indicated, and after waiting around for 15 minutes a registration worker finally pulled up in a van!). Then he couldn't find my reservation even though I provided my confirmation number. After 25 minutes of standing around I finally got to my room. Everything was OK after that (except for the 8:30 knock on the door from housekeeping!) but this is a budget place so don't expect any frills. I absolutely loced my stay here. The only reason this place isn't a 5 was the staff, not the friendliest and the bathroom didn't have a doior exvept for a thin curtain. But there is was a jacuzzi in the roim, there were several restaurants/ bars nearvy, and even though I disn't check I noticed on the way there how close I was to the water. read more

The hotel is quaint and dated with a Marina Nantucket-type motif. Krissy, at the front desk, made the hotel experience extremely pleasant and just because of her we will stay here again. She would get 5 stars, in my opinion. If you want to feel safe and be in a clean place, NEVER stay here! The rooms are old-fashioned, uncomfortable and dirty. The furnishings & bedding seem like they came from the thrift store. The towels are the thinnest towels ever...and very small bath towels. And they have a price list of what they will charge you, posted in the room; should you stain any of these wonderful towels. The owner or manager can be very rude. We were not treated well; and saw several confrontations. Many rooms are filled with drug-alcohol addicts...due to the low rate offered for weekly/monthly stays. They frequent the convenience stores in town; and there have been thefts. The owner has chosen to appeal to this crowd...and even had to install bright lights in the parking lot to try to prevent crime. It's really a shame, because the motel looks decent from the outside. If the owner would put some effort into remodeling; this would be a nice motel for Des Moines. I would highly encourage the owner to do this; and have a grand RE-opening! The owner could easily help Des Moines be a better town! The city is trying to clean up the crime...but some landlords/owners choose not to help improve our town. They prefer to remain slum-lords; and this owner seems to prefer to keep this as a slum motel. It's a real shame. read more

I am not to picky when it comes to hotels. I have stayed in some real dives. This was just an okay hotel near the airport. It was cheap and just okay. Older hotel. I don't know how comfortable the bed was. I slept on a blow up mattress on the floor. The AC worked well and the room was large. Only real complaints: They need to put more towels in the room, there was no tissue in the room-so I had to use a piece of toilet paper to remove the tangled piece of long brown hair from my sisters pillow, the cheap heavy mister shower head made the bathroom real steamy and it moistened the toilet paper...And the old grumpy guy that guards the breakfast was creepy. My sister told me he would not stop staring at our mother! read more

We stayed here after a cruise since we couldn't fly out. The room was very large and clean. Motel was close to the ocean. The owner/manager was very accommodating. We came in late for breakfast but he made sure we had something to eat. Best thing about motel was their honesty! I left my mini iPad in the bed and figured that would be the last I saw of it. We called and they had it at front desk with our room number on it. We had already flown home so the manager (or owner not sure) mailed it to me. I received it in good condition. I have been staying here for years but this will be the last time. The hallway to our room smelled like urine. The first night we asked for extra pillows and there were none available. The second night we asked for a pillow and we were brought one from the lobby sofa that could not be washed and was filthy. Every night that we have stayed here so far after coming home at the end of the day the room keys do not work from one day to the next and have to be reprogrammed know. In fact our room keys did not work again tonight and I am currently sitting in the hotel lobby and there is no staff on duty. There is a phone in the lobby that "says dial zero for emergency", which I did and the only staff member on duty who answered was making an "airport run" and said she would be back in 15 minutes or so and it's already been a 45 minutes and still no sign of any staff. So here I sit at the marina Inn...at 10:30 at night to get in my room...waiting.... read more

Stayed here for four days. Clean and quiet. Their idea of a continental breakfast is mostly junk food. Very few amenities. Everything in the room was unplugged and it took us a while to figure out why things weren't working. The bathroom has an automatic light that goes off when you are in the shower. Poor water pressure from the shower head. too The guest book in the room was missing pages and the tv listing didn't match the tv. Biggest annoyance was a consistent wake up call at 3:30 am despite not asking for one and complaining we still got it. Great location with lots of good restaurants within walking distance. read more
