Let me tell you about the most amazing prenatal massage I've ever had. It was so good that I was hoping I could squeeze in one more visit in the remaining 48 hours of our Houston visit. The 90 minute massage was just what my body needed. The therapist (regretting not catching her name) did such a great job at focusing on the areas I mentioned. The center's overall space and massage rooms were very clean and relaxing as well. I loved that they had a changing room with samples for mothers on hand and a shower available as well. The center offers prenatal Pilates, yoga, and several other additional classes. What a treasure to have in the city! Definitely keeping this in mind for other folks and future visits. Two more tips: They sell massage packages which are ideal for savings and they also offer massages for partners as well. I had a great experience. The staff was all so nice and welcoming. I got a prenatal massage. I had been thinking it would be the table with the tummy missing, but they actually did it sideline. The pillows made it very comfortable. Something I really appreciated is that my massage therapist (I missed her name- blame on the preg brain) really listened to what was hurting and investigated. She found a lot of knots and worked on them. Now I also know what I need to work on stretching. Always so good to keep the body in tip top shape especially during pregnancy! read more

I would give the Motherhood Center 10 stars if I could! My husband and I are expecting our first baby. Planning for a natural, unmedicated hospital birth and knowing preparation is key we didn't know where to turn. Our hospital only has virtual classes and we wanted a more personal touch with the focus on natural. The two-part natural birth class is not cheap and at first I was reluctant to spend the money, but now that we completed it I can tell you it is 1000000% worth it! Our instructor was Dena who is absolutely phenomenal. She balanced the right amount of biology, general education and real life examples without instilling fear. In fact, it was empowering! We loved the class so much that we already signed up for a newborn care class at the Motherhood Center. I seriously cannot recommend this place enough! read more

From check-in, the atmosphere of the massage room, the quality of the massage (along with their special pregnancy pillows used during the massage), to the service from the staff, you will feel pampered and cared for. Why did I just find this place now that I'm 37 weeks pregnant!? Motherhood Center is an amazing collection of resources, classes, and activities for pregnant women in all trimesters. Need a prenatal massage? They've got them. Parenting class? Yep! Lactation consultant, babysitter, or nanny? Check, check, and check. Seriously, so many resources in one location make it super convenient for a busy mom/mom-to-be to knock several things off the to-do list, plus pick up a few things just for mom while you're at it! Crystal was the masseuse that I had, and she was amazing! One of the best prenatal massages I've ever had, and definitely an excellent price for the quality! I was so relaxed during the massage that I think I drifted off to sleep... not hard to do considering I'm super pregnant and have a toddler at home as well! I highly recommend her if you want some help alleviating your aches and pains due to pregnancy. She's very considerate, thorough, and all around an amazing massage therapist! I haven't taken any of their classes or attended a group exercise class, but I'd like to if I can get over there again before this baby pops out. They have both morning and evening class options, so if you work full-time like I do there ARE options! I really appreciate that they don't just cater to stay-at-home moms like some other places I've looked. If you're expecting, or know someone who is, I'd highly recommend checking this place out! I came across the Motherhood center after I had my last baby. So I didn't get to do any of the prenatal classes they offer. What brought me here was the lactation consultant and the classes she does. Which I found out is for Prenatal, not Postnatal. So, I didn't get to do that class either, however, they were still very helpful. I was even given the lactation consultants personal cell phone number to call her with any questions or concerns that I had. While I was there I was able to weigh my baby, we had some concerns about lack of weight gain with her. So in between doctors appointments, were were able to bring her to the motherhood center to see if she had gained any weight. This gave us some peace of mind, Im really glad they have the scale to use here (and its free)! They have a store too with different high-end baby items like shoes, teething rings, Baltic amber( which im coming back for in a couple of months), lots of Medela items. They even have a hospital grade Medela breast pump that you can rent. Ive actually rented one! Its $70 a month to rent it, they do not sell this pump, it's from my understanding, a $1300 pump. The pump rental is just the pump and case, so you'll have to buy the tubes and flanges, and everything else you need to pump. They sell the kit for that as well. read more

I booked a last minute prenatal massage after a particularly bad night's sleep with a tension headache -- my first visit here. I was immediately impressed with how nice and tranquil the room was. Napacha did such amazing work that I cried to her when she was finished! She got all of my problem areas and provided much needed relief. FYI - my review is based on the prental massage only. My friend found a coupon for me for $40 off a prenatal massge so of course I took advantage of it. I usually only do 50min-1hr massage, but it was my birthday, so I splurge with the 1.5hr massage.... and it was not enough! I found myself dozing off from time to time and probably freaked out Andrea (?) because I would startle myself and make a funny noise. This is my first prenatal massage (I was 29wks) and I cant compare it to others, but compared to massages in general, if you can get me to fall asleep, that's pretty awesome! It was just a little difficult switching sides. They have a shower and locker room for you to use. They also carry retail items in the lobby. There had some neat stuff. At first I thought they overpriced some items but I looked up the item online it was the same price. I may come back to try out some yoga classes. I wished they had their pilates class on the weekend instead of just Wed! read more

I used to be very active and had my regular rotation of spin, barre, pilates, etc... When you are 7 months pregnant, exercise gets a little tougher. Spin gets super uncomfortable, there are too many modifications needed for barre and pilates, and you are exhausted so what used to be easy is often now too much. Motherhood Center to the rescue! I absolutely love the fitness classes here! The low impact fitness is perfect for expectant mamas and the instructor is so welcoming and supportive. I always get a good workout and I know I'm doing it safely. Bring a yoga mat (or you can rent one for a small fee) and a water bottle. They have a water dispenser in the room to fill up if needed. You can do class barefoot or in sneakers. Class is appropriate for all stages, although most participants are well into their second or third trimester. read more

One of my worst experiences, I paid a lot of money for a mediocre massage that frankly didn't help me at all, they hurt me and my pain got worse. They lack more organization and attention. Wait 30 minutes, but the manager never arrived. Do not waste your time and money with these people. read more

My wife and I attended the Lamaze childbirth class offered at Motherhood Center taught by Dena Rogge in October. The Lamaze class was broken into 2 sessions, 3 hour each on a Thursday evening from 5:30 to 8:30 pm. We were provided a workbook that contained a lot of good information for reference. Dena was knowledgeable and unbiased in her teachings. We learned relevant information regarding unmedicated birth and how to avoid unnecessary interventions. We also practiced breathing exercises that can help the mother cope with child birth. We enjoyed the candid conversations with the other to-be parents and going through concerns with the birthing process. Absolutely enjoyed the 6 hour course. They serve snacks and drinks during the class and I recommend having a cup of coffee beforehand if you are not used to classroom setting. Money well spent! read more

If I could give the Motherhood Center six stars, I would! Since the moment my husband and I stepped into the MC, Gabriela (the owner) and the staff were welcoming, friendly, informative and professional. Gabriela gave us a tour of the center, which includes a fun lobby with complimentary beverages, a large yoga studio, massage rooms and a changing/locker room, a photography studio, and extra rooms in the back where classes (CPR, lactation, newborn, etc) are held. I have participated in the prenatal yoga classes on multiple occasions, as well as had prenatal massages by Jane and Jackie (both very skilled therapists!). My husband and I are planning to take the baby CPR and lactation courses that our being offered, and I am very excited to bring my baby in for Mommy and Me yoga this summer. All in all, I feel the Motherhood Center is a wonderful resource for mothers and couples, and provides a safe and serene space to learn so much about parenthood while keeping healthy and happy. I am a medical provider myself (Internal Medicine physician), and Gabriela's dedication and expertise in her passion is very apparent and inspiring. I was very impressed by the questionnaire given before the session asking what hurts and what I would like my masseuse to focus on. Absolutely love it here! I did a prenatal massage, which was amazing. My husband and I also did the prepared childbirth class, which the instructor accommodated us and gave us helpful tips on natural childbirth, due to our original class being cancelled. The class was super informative and definitely helped us during the labor and delivery process. I've also been going to the mommy and baby yoga classes, which have been wonderful. My little guy absolutely loves it, and everyone is great! We've only taken the classes with Loretta, but based on my experiences, all of the teachers are wonderful! read more

Ok, here's the thing-- there are tons of places I can go to get a prenatal massage or buy bottles or find a doula (as if!) or a babysitter. So when choosing to patronize a retailer generally I use service quality as the differentiator. The Motherhood Center sells a variety of baby and mommy related products and has a decent website. Once I determined that they carried the product I was looking for, I gave them a call to see if it was in stock. No answer. Tried again 10 minutes later-- no answer. And so on, for SEVERAL DAYS. "Maybe I'll just go in," I think. But, alas, there are no store hours on their website. So I call again, and this time try to be connected with the front desk. Scraps: "I'm trying to reach the retail department but there's no answer." MC: "Did you leave a message?" Scraps: "Well, no; I just wanted to know your hours and if you had a product in stock. That's not something for which I would normally have to leave a message. Can you connect me to retail?" MC: "No. She's not always in. Can you leave a message with me?" Scraps: "Well when can I expect to have my call returned." MC: "Um, I don't know. She's not always in." Scraps "Ok, then thank you; I can just find this product elsewhere." So, in sum, this is a store that sells stuff, but not always, and if you have any questions, you might get them answered if the retail girl feels like coming in. I understand that for services and consultations and other of their many (and it IS a good selection) of mommy-centered services, I might not be able to get immediate service (even though their website displays their staff and it seems like they have many many people working there...) But in an age where I can click "buy" on Amazon and get the same product cheaper, delivered to my door in two days, a retail business like the one at the Motherhood Center just isn't worth my time. Here's hoping that front desk girl reads this and learns the phrase "oh I am so sorry you weren't able to get through. Is there any way I can assist you?" read more

I found the Motherhood Center after searching around for prenatal workout classes and decided to give it a try. And that was one of the BEST decisions I have made for me and my baby. I workout 4-5 times a week before pregnancy and do all kinds of things from kickboxing to yoga but when I got pregnant, I wanted to make sure the workouts I do is safe for me and baby and it will benefit me during labor and recovery. So after I tried out my first prenatal workout class with Karolina at the Motherhood Center I was hooked. I started to go there when I was 11 weeks pregnant and I am still taking the class virtually now when I am 37 weeks. The classes were great and I feel stronger and have more energy after the classes. Karolina is excellent and she is funny, energetic, friendly and she cares for each person in the class. Everyone at Motherhood Center is so nice and friendly since day 1 when I first visited. They are resourceful, helpful and super knowledgeable about all kinds of pregnancy things. The facility is clean, cozy and neat and has everything you need for pregnancy. I am glad during this tough time, they are still open and provide virtual classes online so I can take it from home. Can't wait for my baby to come and I will come back for mommy baby yoga class!!!! This is a great place for your motherhood needs. My husband and I took a newborn care class as part of our adoption training requirements, and we both thought that it was a supportive and informative experience. Sometimes it can be a bit uncomfortable when you are adopting and are surrounded by pregnant women, but they made the whole experience pleasant and I was very appreciative of that. Now I am pregnant and I attend the fitness classes. The instructors are very knowledgeable and they each bring a unique perspective to class. I never took yoga before, but the whole experience is comfortable and everyone is focused on the individual experience of the students and maximizing the health benefits over getting into a certain pose at any cost. read more

Sandy was wonderful in changing up her techniques based on current tight spots I was experiencing from tense shoulders due to work deadlines to sore low back from standing too long at a baby shower to stiff hands/wrists from pregnancy induced carpal tunnel syndrome. I was beyond relaxed i even drooled on the pillows i went at 33 weeks pregnant and just loved it. I did want kore pressure but I'm sure that its not allowed during this stage in pregnancy or whatever. My masseuse was Sandy she had the softest hands I've ever felt i seriously fell into deep sleep it was well worth it. I did 90 minutes because 60 is never enough lol the best was soooo comfortable and i have arthritis in my hips and even my bed at home hurts my hips but this was like a fluffy warm cloud but somehow never felt overheated. I can't say enough good things about this place. I feel so fortunate to have access to a business that is truly a one stop shop for all things pregnancy and motherhood related. I have taken advantage of their fitness classes (mostly prenatal yoga with Heather - a little slow for my taste, but the stretching was much needed and the classes were small during COVID - although I was disappointed and surprised that masks weren't required), several prenatal massages (Jane is excellent) and their Childbirth class (led by Sandra, who was thorough, informative and made us feel comfortable). All of this has been in preparation for our first child and I feel so much better having utilized these services. The staff are friendly and accommodating. Overall, this business is a great resource for those in the Houston area. I am writing this review because I am so extremely happy at how amazingly my mother has been treated as a Caregiver (nanny) in her job search. I can not say enough wonderful things about the staff here in how nicely, and respectfully they treat people. She had issues with another agency and their lack of humanity, but once she found motherhood center they realized what a gem she is and she has found an amazing job with a loving family.
