They actually care and like their jobs!!!!! I would highly recommend this place for your PT needs, for all, especially athletes. I was sentenced to abundant therapy in Inglewood lol but as soon as I stepped into that place I just knew, I wasn't going to get better. The kids working there were more interested in giving you an assignment so they can go back to socializing among themselves. They can careless about your form which is crucial, a form will injure you if it's not done right. I've had 3 knee surgeries and every single time I transfer to Motions Plus because of their care and love of their jobs. I know in their hands I'm well taken care of. I am absolutely grateful and blessed by EVERYONE of the workers. They listen to you too! Great, kind staff... Especially their employee Ginger. She praise! I have a calf tear and have received about 15 therapy sessions for it. She is the only one to apply the icy hot ointment on my calf. Only 1 other time an employee gave me some of the icy hot. She handed me the bottle and said here you go. Only flaw, they could do a better job at answering their phones. Scheduling is a nightmare. No one answers the phone. Unsantiary nasty restrooms and privacy is at your frustration.

No one answered the phone, emails, or text messages to set up appointments. The Lawndale location has an older lady with special needs, apparently, at the desk who mumbles when she talks and throws out insulations when you ask her to speak up. The last time I came no one answered the phone, emails, or texts, either. Multiple insults came my way at me and my young daughter again. She had me redo the pre-authorization for some minor details. That took over a month. My appointment for an evaluation by the physical therapist was set out 3 months away, on purpose to irritate, since nobody is there as usual in the midst of summer. There is no reason for any of this. I had my pre-authorization complete and in hand at the beginning of May 2023. It took over 3 months to get an appointment scheduled because no one answered the phone, email, or text messages, and I had to be evaluated by a therapist before my therapy could start. Ultimately had to go in numerous times to schedule but finally had 3 therapy sessions in mid to late August. Finally. But now it's late August the hottest summer on record, setting a World Record. I wanted to begin therapy at the beginning of May when it was cool but was forced to begin in late August amid a great heat wave. I was told there were no openings for me so I had to wait like 4 months. I'm a returning customer, I have been here for over 2.5 years before and during the pandemic. I came in as a quadriplegic, with collapsed lungs, heart failure, and bearly alive. Now I am here for rehabilitation after having a lung removed. I'm no longer a quadriplegic. Almost back to normal, thank God. Lots of hard work! I fell from dizziness on my third visit here because of the heat wave, the pool was turned up too high at 98° to 100° plus, not the normal 80s, and the pool room windows had no curtains, and became an oven. So I cancelled my next three visits awaiting a cool down. Then the older lady at the front desk, (name Zon B?) texted me and canceled all my appointments because of missed appointments on record-breaking heat wave days. No one else was told they couldn't return due to cancelations. Just unbelievable. I plan on contacting the owner on Monday, 9/18/23. If no result, I will then contact the licensing board. I've seen many and know of licensing violations. I contacted Zen Bone each time I cancelled and told her I had heat issues especially the 100° plus pool. I feel sorry for Zon B., no English skills, and probably thinks everyone is against her, gotta assuming she is a relative of Henrick. The owner is Henrick Macalintal I believe. I couldn't decide if I wanted to rate this place a 2 or a 3, because I had mixed experiences here. I came here for my physical therapy evaluation a year ago and the therapist was FANTASTIC. Kind, lovely, etc. I was looking forward to coming back but then ended up having to move and the location ended up being very far from my home. I called back to possibly go to physical therapy there again for another injury, and the receptionist was TERRIBLE. She was mouthy, condescending and kept cutting me off in the middle of my sentences. She even had the audacity to lecture me, then tried to convince me not to schedule an appointment there. When I stood up for myself and I told her to listen to me and not rudely interrupt as she was not even hearing what I needed in my full sentences before pretending she could read my mind, she became even more rude. Finally, I was able to schedule an appointment but I am so happy to say she was a headache and I'm successfully going to a different spot not as to not have to deal with her again. read more

One way to describe my experience with their service is horrible . Was sent over here by my insurance and upon calling them to schedule an appointment, nobody from either the lawndale or Long Beach location picked up . If you enjoy endless one-way phone tag without ever getting a response or treatment, then oh boy is this the place for you! Otherwise AVOID AVOID AVOID. Go anywhere else. They never answer the phone or return calls, and they're unable to set up a simple appointment. Even if you get an appointment, since they don't answer the phone you will not be able to get the care you need here. I received a referral through my insurance to this location for physical therapy in June, so I called and spoke to a human being -- little did I know how unusual that is. The woman was polite, took my info, and said that she would call me back later that day or the next day to schedule the appointment, since they needed to confirm with the insurance company. That's fine. But three days later I still hadn't heard back. Begin the cycle of me calling, not getting to a human being, leaving a clear message with my name and contact info, not hearing back for several days, and repeat. For WEEKS. I called more often than I left messages, sometimes nearly every day, but I've been leaving at least two messages a week. After calling again this morning and again not getting a person, I hung up and called my insurance company to report this location's inability to answer the phone or return calls or set up an appointment. The insurance company was very understanding and is putting in a change so I will receive a referral to a new facility. Hopefully the insurance company terminates its contract with this location so no one else who needs physical therapy has to deal with them again. I am in pain and I need physical therapy, and they received the contract for my treatment and they get paid for it, so this kind of unprofessional behavior is completely unacceptable. read more

This review is on the administration of this therapy office. The service provided during my father's initial visit was unprofessional; the receptionist did not have the required skills to speak to the patients because she demanded specific tasks like a collection of insurance, ID, and waivers instead of asking for them politely. Later, after this initial meeting, we settled on appointment dates and times for the allotted therapy sessions. However, this therapy center has turned my father away twice from his scheduled appointments, and he has now been asked to call every day he has a scheduled session before arriving. (Then why schedule appointment sessions?) Overall, the disorganization of this therapy center is what is causing this bad review. I will not be taking my father back here. read more

Back to BS. It's almost like the people who work here intentionally set roadblocks for patients. After many many months of ongoing treatment they waited until my last appointment to mention that I needed another referral. Timing is EVERYTHING when they know that it can take an average of 2 weeks to get authorization, so why not advise patients BEFORE authorization expires? Fecklessness. This go round my doctor changed the body part then corrected it on the authorization. I have called, texted and emailed the business so that I can receive care. There's been no follow up on their side. Sadly, posting to Yelp is the only way thing they seem to respond to. Typical for the lawndale location. If you've answered yes to any of these questions, then look no further! If you answered no, then I seriously question your decision-making abilities and have to assume that you are a box of no fun. Motion Plus is, by far, the best place that I've ever been for physical and aquatic therapy! The staff really cares and wants what's best for you. Like any rehab facility, you get out of it what you put in. We all have bad days, but a positive attitude goes a long way! I also really enjoy chatting with the other clients! The pool is warm and refreshing. It's also easy on sore joints and backs. I highly recommend trying it out. So, if you're on the fence, (which you shouldn't be if you're looking up physical therapy. I think all the bad reviews are related to a backed up phone log due to too many new patients wanting to get in here. All the Doctors, Therapists & Front office staff here are incredibly attentive and lovely. My Dr referred me here and the process of getting scheduled was simple, I called during the Holidays and had to call to follow up but other than that once you're past that back log it's smooth sailing. I've never been to a PT place with such positive and happy energy, it really helps with the healing to know the crew here enjoys their work & who they're working with from the staff camaraderie to all the other patients in the gym. It also helps with motivating you to want to make your appointments, always a pleasant atmosphere and I leave smiling after each visit. I took my mom to this Therapy center for 12 weeks after her ankle surgery; today was her last day and she was very emotional because their team became like a family to her. All the staff is extremely professional and they truly care for their patients. Thank you for helping my mom to be back on her feet in no time. Zen(Long Beach location)is simply too overwhelmed with her workload to communicate with me via email. That is my preferred source of communicating. I have a TBI(traumatic brain injury) as well as being a stroke survivor which left me with a speech impediment. Talking for me is difficult and exhausting. I'm sure Zen is a nice young lady. In my opinion just lacking in some customer service skills. First impressions go a very long way, and Zen left me with a not so great impression. Hopefully she was just having a bad day. I will not let Zen's lack of professionalism to interfere with my much needed therapy. I'm looking forward to visit the actual facility. It looks and sounds amazing to me. HORRIBLE BUSINESS!!! I'm surprised they have that many stars. Just like another reviewer said, if I could give zero stars I would. But in order to write this review, I had to give at least one star whether they deserved it or not. I tried calling this place for months trying to get an appointment for aquatic therapy for my back prescribed by my doctor, but no one answers the freaking phone. It's obvious the owner and staff are not interested in running their business, let alone keeping it. Maybe they're not certified or licensed physical therapists at all. I called on 1/3/22 to make an appointment. I sent copy of my medical I'd, driver license and order from the doctor and they told me that they would call my insurance and call me back. Called on 1/6/22 to see what was going on and they told me that they will call me back within the hour to schedule the appointment. Everyone here is wonderful. Nice, professional and easy to work with. There's a small heated therapy pool with underwater bikes, weights and floatation tools, there's a lot of chlorine in the pool to keep the germs away. They also have two heated showers for before/after pool rinsing. They keep the place very clean and lightly bleach the shower areas to keep the germs away. Unfortunately I moved further away so I couldn't keep coming after about 12 visits. They do all sorts of therapy here and the equipment was well kept and in working order. They work with you to find the best combination of therapy. Traction therapy was the most useful for my lower spine, it's done with an automated machine which can be adjusted for tension. Making appointments was easy. Not sure what people are complaining about. Sometimes they didn't pickup the phone, but they always called me back. Best was to just schedule your appointments when you're there. Easy parking out back with a ramp. They shut down for lunch, so schedule accordingly. Great attentive group, more like family. Aqua Cycling? Such a fun workout. You don't feel like you're working that hard. I don't like gyms because I always feel self conscious about myself, but Criselda is real nice and a good teacher. The cool down at the end is relaxing and a good way to finish the workout. They have plenty of showers and lockers. Parking is super easy. I've gone 3 or 4 times now and will try to go more often. read more

I don't care what kind of therapists are employed here. It is beyond galling that no matter what time of day you call no human answers the phone ever. When you try to leave a voicemail you cannot because it's not activated. I have tried for 5 weeks at various times to reach this place to no avail. I have no idea how people stay in business when they are this unprofessional. If you can't answer phone calls from people that have inquiries about the services you offer how do you expect to increase your clientele? I have been looking for a great rehab and I believe I found one after so many years of searching. I have a knee problem on both knees and a friend recommended to try Motion plus aquatic and therapy center. I came in in the morning and I was greeted pleasantly by the front desk staff. The moment has arrived and Henrick a PT toured me to the facility and explained to me in details about the treatment also the facility is huge well equipped and clean. We started with knee exercises and then I did the hydrotherapy which is by far the best no impact treatment for my knees. He finished the treatment with ultrasound heatpad and different modalities. I felt relieved and started gaining strength after few treatments and to which I started playing basketball again. Aquacyling (spin class under water(heated)) I absolutely love it! I first purchased the groupon deal (4) sessions and loved it so much i purchased for the whole month for the next 5 months!. The Instructor Criselda is so sweet and very helpful. if you need help with the bike she will gladly help make adjustments. As for the exercise part of the class, it truly is low impact and no soreness afterwards. It's like a combination of cardio and aerobics but much more fun than if you were working out at the gym, lol at least for me. Also, i love that the facility has showers. Thr energy in the class is awesome and you're constantly moving the entire 45min but the best part is you don't feel it hard on your body. for example my knees, they haven't hurt since I started aquacylcing, unlike when It use to hurt during spin class at the local gym. I also love the last part of the class which is the cool down, so relaxing and calming. oh and the music she plays is on point. read more

I have great things to say about this place.I have received PT for 5months.They have various PTs.My physical therapists are very friendly,knowledgeable and  helpful. I was long term patient.They helped  to strengthen my body and mental.I also like to get ultra sound from Eric when I have muscle pain.He do physical therapy too. All the therapists are great ! The counter receptionist helped me alot! I'm really thanks to them cuz I can go back to school and work.Thanks for taking care.Highly recommend to everyone:) read more
