Excellent care, A-1 quality... You cannot go wrong with Patty Brown. All the staff are pleasant & professional.

10 yrs later and PBPT are still complete rockstars! Today I had Brett Niko and some other assistants and athlete trainers helping. Woke up and back went out. Haven't had an issue in YEARS. I've been here for neck back wrist knee shoulder and ankle issues some of which are degenerative, some from sports over time, and some from a car accident, doesn't matter they do it all! Can't say enough about them, but here's my normal Yelp list: 1. Service - crazy friendly! Super educated on PT and all body parts, injury types etc. I have great confidence that when I walk thru that door I will be treated as both a human and with kindness and by a professional that actually listens and cares and wants to help and see a difference. Knee - They have helped to rehab a old injury of a completely torn ACL and partially removed meniscus cartilage that has degenerated over time and caused back ankle and leg stability issues. Back/neck - degenerative discs issue all along the vertebrae, torn ligament in lower back, neck all addressed and resolved. Ankle - sprained my ankle badly years ago and I was walking and healthy I'm no time. Wrist - hurt wrist via bad sprain when I fell and hurt ankle, again they helped a ton as it took a while to heal due to the bad sprain. Shoulder - could have been carpel tunnel or the car accident when someone rear ended me, but I could not raise my arm above my head and that was solved in no time. Anytime I have had recurrences it has been because I gained weight, got stressed, didn't stretch, didn't do my exercises, reinsured something or pushed my body too hard. I've never had to come back because they didn't do a good job. Ever! And I've had a TON of work done here. 2. Location - very cute location with greenery and windows to bring brightness and give you peace as you're healing your pain! Feels like Hawaii which is the vibe of the biz since PB is Hawaiian. Love her and her entire team for this along among many other things! It's tucked away behind the fitness center, old movie theatre and some industrial building so can be tricky to find at first. 3. Parking is free and in a building attached to the building that PBPT is in. If you're lucky you can park on the first floor near the door so that you don't have to walk too far. I'm the afternoons it is crowded but early am and late evening not so much. 4. Costs and healthcare - worth every penny whether out of pocket or copay with insurance. They will teach you the exercises to do on your own and if you do it you'll be fine in no time and whatever you pay is beyond worth it! I don't go anywhere else! And I've lived in 4 cities nationally and traveled globally since coming here! Just say yes. Can't recommend then enough. read more

I almost don't want to leave a review out of fear that everyone will go and i won't get an appt!! What I love most is how much they listen to you as a patient, where is the pain? And the assistants watch your form. They encompass everything, they have an open minded concept- that way your issue is the hip but it could easily be the back or a muscle in the glute. Christine is so knowledgeable with many, many years experience. I came here after my last PT over worked me causing hip flexor and piriformis issues. This place is calming, and just feels good. I'm still on my road to recovery at Patty Brown PT but I am so thankful for everyone there. About half a year ago I was in excruciating pain day and night. I didn't know if I could ever really recover but at Patty Brown I have hope. I have had appointments with almost every therapist and they are all incredible. I will admit, I am not always easy to please ;)...but PB PT exceeded my expectations. I brought a client here based solely on their yelp reviews, and was absolutely pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere is relaxed and clean with a Hawaiian flare. Their customer service is excellent. The staff is personable and friendly, making you feel right at home. They have sufficient staff to accommodate clients. We've never waited for more than a few minutes to be called back. The PT staff is not only well educated but also have years of experience in PT and wonderful with their clientele. Today I went to Patty Brown Physical Therapy for physical therapy. I have never had physical therapy before, but the issues with my shoulder are just impacting my basic living to such an extent that I decided I had to do it. This morning I almost had my mouth in the bowl of cereal because I can't lift the spoon to my mouth. Getting dressed and showering have become time consuming and difficult challenges. I can't pull the seat belt with my right arm or shut the front passenger's door. ENOUGH! I dreaded the appointment. If I move my arm/shoulder in various unknowable ways I have a variety of incredibly intense pains, sometimes lasting for up to 10 minutes. I just knew this was going to hurt like hell. Patty happened to be my therapist. She is amazing! I won't bore you with the details, but the appointment lasted about two hours. At no time did she or any of her assistants cause me pain. They were all knowledgable, professional, and genuinely warm people. Astoundingly, I had immediate results! When I reached into my pants pocket to get out my phone to input three additional appointments, I realized I could do so with no bizarre physical contortions and absolutely no pain. This would not have been possible before the appointment. I would have had searing pain and barely been able to get my phone out. Tonight at dinner, I could lift my fork to my mouth like normal! Already, with just one visit, I highly recommend Patty Brown Physical Therapy. Her office has a positive, friendly energy about it. The people are all genuinely pleasant, and I think that flows from her inner nature. I have always believed that the energy of a space flows from those who lead what goes on in that space. First thing: The therapists at PBPT are just good human beings and I love them. Not only do they provide physical therapy, but they encourage a laid back atmosphere and laughter which is just as important. Especially for those hard days during a rough recovery I had shoulder surgery at my peak of climbing performance-so needless to say I was not very happy about it. Patty, Staci and Carlo saw me through 5 months of difficult physical therapy and now, 8 months from surgery, I am climbing near my peak, climbing with better technique and feeling healthier while I do it. There is no doubt in my mind that it is largely because of their work and what they taught me. Unless I had to, I would never, ever, go to another physical therapist. They are so accommodating to specific needs. Example: I wanted to do my therapy circuit twice which would take up to 3 hours and they were fine with that as long as other patients could slip in and move my things as needed. I went to Kerlan-Jobe for both a knee and shoulder operation and my surgeon said I needed to go to a good Physical Therapist ahead of my surgery so I could tone down the dominant muscles in my shoulder from my history of weight lifting to make sure my shoulder aligned properly after surgery. I told him I had talked to Patty Brown and he said it was great since she was the best! The pre-surgery and post surgical Physical Therapy was phenomenal and my recovery was dramatically ahead of schedule for both my shoulder and my knee. I wish I had PBPT when I had my first knee surgery in Texas, I was just a number, not a patient, and the results prove it. Then I got a severe, near fatal blow to my neck at the base of my skull. All of the specialists, neurologists, and neurosurgeons said I needed to go to a Physical Therapist that knew how to treat such injuries, warning a PT who didn't know might cause more injury than cure. I immediately went to Patty Brown and Vivian has been my life saver. Her treatment has moved me beyond expectations and has been instrumental in pain management. And the atmosphere is as all others say, a happy place to be where serious medicine is done with a smile and happy Therapist/Patient interaction. Everyone here is more than a wonderful physical therapist: they are true healers. There is a such a kindness in this place; I am genuinely thankful that I had to have surgery in order to end up there. When I first came to PBPT last year, it was at the recommendations of my Kerlan-Jobe knee surgeon and his nurse. I had been in progressively terrible knee pain in both knees and, eventually, hips for years, since high school, but I was also emotionally exhausted and feeling pretty awful. The knee surgery helped with the former, and Patty Brown helped with both. At Patty's, you are listened to carefully, spoken to clearly, worked on attentively and at length, then given help with your exercises--every single session--and then offered ice, electrical stimulation therapy, and/or ultrasound, based on your condition. I was set on the road to a strong recovery, and the pain in my left knee, which hadn't yet been operated on, all but disappeared, saving me a second surgery. And when I woke up with a mysteriously and completely frozen neck after coming home from extensive international travel, Patty re-mobilized it. Recovering from surgery is more than physically difficult, but it's impossible to be down at Patty's. Her clinic is full of laughter and positivity, both of which are crucial for healing. I don't know how this is possible, but everyone, from the therapists to the aides to the billing department, is so warm! I saw Patty herself, Vivian, and Kristi most regularly and could not recommend them highly enough. I also saw Carlo and Staci for some sessions; they're great, too! There is no doubt this is one of the best PT units in the South Bay! Everyone, from receptionist to Patty Brown, is united to give you the best experience you could imagine. They are all highly qualified and have the most wonderful bedside manner one would imagine. The positive vibe and camaraderie among the group makes you want to go, which is half the battle. There is never a time where they make you feel like you are just cash coming in the door. Furthermore, you get the sense from Patty's demeanor that it is all about healing and that is their focus. Words really can't express what a phenomenal place this is. The first time I showed up at Patty Brown PT, it was after a bad experience with an HMO and a different PT office. I was skeptical, my injury was getting worse and not better, I was tired of having to fight/argue to justify getting medical care - I was not in the best place. Within the first 30 minutes of being in Patty Brown's PT office with Alana, my whole outlook and attitude changed. In a time and place where getting validation, care and warmth from health care providers can be hard to find - Patty Brown PT is like a beautiful, rejuvenating oasis in the dessert. I cannot emphasize what a positive and warm place this is. There is always laughter and smiling faces. There is a definite ease and comfort about being at Patty Brown PT. The PTs are professional, skilled and highly competent. They are getting to the root of my injury - something the prior PT practice I visited was failing at miserably. I strongly feel I was on the path to chronic pain, permanent disability, and/or the need for surgery until I arrived here. The PT assistants are bright and friendly. Garrett will make sure you're doing those exercises RIGHT! I've heard other patients say, "I wish I could come here every day!". And who can blame them? I was referred to PBPT for PT following back surgery. I had been to other therapists before I went for the surgery and the surgeon referred me to Patty Brown and Associates. OH MY!!!! This place is so super amazing! From the moment you walk in, everyone is friendly and I am always taken on time, even if I am a bit late....sorry it's the traffic. Anyway, the treatments and exercises that they are giving me are really helping. I am getting better each day because of the therapy I am receiving at Patty Brown and Associates. I think with 100% five star reviews, Patty Brown Physical Therapy gets an A+++. I think Patty just hires the best and good to be around people first off. Being sidelined for injury is horrible and after surgery you're kinda freaking out so they walk you through the road to recovery very well. The other thing is that you do the exercises there and they make sure you're doing them correctly. This isn't always the case at other places. I have had physical therapy in the past for other things and it definitely was not to the standard of this place. Plus, everyone is fun and welcoming. Unfortunately, had two different occasions to make use of the services at Patty Brown PT. Once was an ankle injury, and once was a leg injury, both related to running. What I liked about the care here was that they looked beyond the specific injury to help find the cause. I went to PBPT for several months following shoulder surgery, and I could not be happier with my experience. They paid close attention to my needs and progress and carefully helped me rehabilitate my body. All of the therapists I saw were great, including Christina, Vivian and Adam. But I have to give special mention to Amanda, who was my primary therapist and such an incredibly helpful, thoughtful person. I love walking into this place. Everyone is so caring and makes you feel so special and cared for. It is like family. I brought my daughter here for knee problems after injuries running track 3 years ago and helped her so much. When I came in for treatment this last month all of them remembered her and asked how she was truly interested. I am now coming for PT after a car accident and everyone from each PT to all the PT assistants are so attentive and caring and knowledgable. After 3 weeks of treatment I feel better in my body than I had before the accident! I have been to many PT places and the is by far the most helpful kind and knowledgeable. read more

The worst part about this place is the amount of time they waste. I used their services in the past. The facility isn't bad, and their staff generally seem friendly enough. My issue is with their booking procedures. I had experienced a chronic injury, and they helped me get past it, which is why I came calling again. I wasn't made aware that I needed a new doctor's referral because of the time lag between visits, even though they were aware of that time lag ahead of my appointment and insisted on a one-hour evaluation. Instead, they decided to waste my Friday morning in any event. I later received a prescription for physical therapy, so I called them immediately. Mind you, I'm still suffering from a chronic neck injury with consistent pain. When I called, I got what sounded like the young Asian girl who sits in reception. After telling her I got the prescription, she lets me know that the next hour appointment (what they insist on, given the aforementioned time lag) is March 13th - TWENTY-TWO DAYS LATER. She then asks if I want to book it! "I'm in pain," I reply, "would you book something nearly a month later if you were in pain?" After a brief silence, I get a sheepish, "No," to which she then adds, almost on cue, "but we really get booked in advance a lot." "Great," I respond, "then it sounds like you guys don't need my business." I recall, during my past interactions, having to resort to using the same, "What would you do in this situation" to that same receptionist when she would suggest something as ludicrous as waiting nearly a month while you're in pain. I get that Patty Brown must train her staff to go after the business, but given the saccharine yet insincere responses I get from the staff, like the one I got from the aforementioned Employee of the Month, I think it's only a matter of time that people will see right through their time wasting facade. In the interim, go ABSOLUTELY ANYWHERE ELSE that will have the smallest amount of respect for your time and patronage and not insult you by making irresponsible suggestions, like asking someone to wait nearly a month BEFORE ASKING THEM IF THEY'RE EXPERIENCING PAIN OR DISCOMFORT. read more

Great PT place. I've been to a few. There are mediocre ones, and ones that are hit or miss. I like this one because it seems like Patty is involved in both the hiring and the running of it. The whole staff is very involved, professional, keeps track of your progress, always check in during your exercises to ensure you are maintaining form. Definitely a well oiled machine. I dislocated my shoulder requiring surgery to repair a torn labrum. After the surgery my doctor sent me to PBPT for rehab. I used three physical therapist for at least one visit. They were all three extremely professional, knowledgeable, and nice- so I guarantee you will be assigned a great caretaker. Every time I returned for a post op. assessment the Dr. told me I was way ahead of schedule and they were doing a great job. I could easily see my progress from day to day and my shoulder felt better every time I went. I know the staff goes to conferences to stay on the cutting edge of physical therapy. They are a class act. The atmosphere is laid back and fun. You receive extremely personnel attention for your entire visit. Several patients told me they could not get better until they came to PBPT. The staff learns about you beyond the injury and you learn about them. I would equate going to physical therapy there like sitting down to a large family dinner. Everybody banters and talks and enjoys life. You WILL get better at PBPT and have a great time doing it. I miss going there already. At the end of last year, I unfortunately messed up my back over stretching. My orthopedic suggested that I go to a Physical Therapist but didn't suggest one. Since I work in Burbank but live in Gardena, I wanted a place that could be on my drive home, and open after 5pm. After asking friends, trying to randomly pick someone off of my insurance website, I chose to check out Yelp. I mean it works for my restaurant needs, why not my physical therapy needs. I came across PB Physical therapy reviews and thought let me give them a call. I spoke with Justin, and he explained the whole process and that they weren't in my insurance network but that I would be so satisfied with the work, that I wouldn't mind if it was a little more than an In-Network place. I thought about it, and that was completely worth the extra money. (Especially after calling a few other places that didn't want to even answer a few questions) I was treated by Carlo Reyes but got to know all of the PTs in there including Patty who ALWAYS has a bright smile, and goes out of her way to be sure that you're feeling OK. After a few weeks of PT, I was released with no more back pain and an improved posture. (Which I really took for granted working behind a desk) Unfortunately about 2 weeks later, I was rear ended by a drunk driver and messed up my neck and re-injured my back. So when my orthopedic told me he wanted to put me back into PT, I was actually excited that I'd be able to go back to Patty and her staff for a few more weeks. The mood in this place is electric!! I've never been to a physical rehab place where patients want to be there, the PTs working on your truly love their jobs and everyone is laughing hysterically. This isn't just a physical therapy establishment, but an absolute gem to have in the community. Between Carlo, Stacy and Patty, they were able to patch me back up again and send me back into my normal routine of life. I was so taken back by their level of service that I want to go back to them in the future so they can help correct previous injuries I still have issues with today. To say that I recommend Patty and her Staff is an understatement! I was suffering from lower back/sciatica pain and on pain medication. I had never been to physical therapy before, so I Yelped it. I found the 5-star reviews for Patty Brown Physical Therapy, which was close to my work. The moment I walked in the door, I knew it was the right place for me. It was like a breath of fresh air! I could feel the positive energy everywhere ~ it was amazing! Patty and her staff are truly exceptional ~ very down to earth, caring, knowledgeable and they make you feel like part of the family. My therapy consisted of heat, exercises, ice and electrical stimulation. The idea was that I would strengthen my core, which would provide better support for my back. I went 3x a week for approximately 3 months, and it was worth every minute I spent there. I actually looked forward to my appointments! Best of all, my back and sciatica pain went away. Summary: I don't normally write Yelp reviews, but I had to take the time for Patty Brown Physical Therapy. Simply put, is an amazing place where the employees demonstrate expertise, compassion, positive thinking, motivation, humor and fun. When you need to work through a lot of pain to get better these are all key ingredients to success, each equally important as the next. Physical therapy is not normally a pleasant experience, but I can honestly say that when I completed my last visit I was sad to leave. I had got to know each and every person that worked there and they got to know me. Now here is where I will get a little long winded as I try my best to put into writing why Patty Brown Physical Therapy is hands down the best physical therapy experience I have ever had. If you don't feel like reading anymore, just take my word and go for a visit. I have been to many physical therapy facilities even though I am relatively young. I have had back, shoulder and a hand injury over the years. I visited Patty briefly a few years back after injuring my shoulder surfing. I lived ten minutes away at the time. I had such a great experience, that when I injured my back I was determined to go back to Patty. Now I live 30-60 minutes depending on traffic (got to love LA traffic) and still make the trek because the place really is magical. Every other physical therapy clinic I have visited was a chore. I was not religious about going nor was I religious about doing the exercises at home. This lead to my hand injury taking longer to heal. I had no one to blame but myself. Going to Patty's clinic was the exact opposite of a chore and as a result, I found myself doing all of the exercises. More importantly over time, I found myself feeling better and eventually feeling 100%. I attribute this definitely to the physical therapist I worked with the most. She was determined to find me relief and worked tirelessly with me during my sessions until we found something that worked. However, during my time at Patty Brown I worked with almost all of the therapists including Patty herself. They were all amazing. Patty seems to hire people that have the same kind of energy. They are all extremely professional and yet seem to create a very compassionate and motivating environment. In fact all of the employees from the receptionist to the aides get to know you and contribute to a family like environment. At the end of the day you could go to any physical therapy clinic and get knowledgeable assistance. However, so much of your success relies on your own shoulders. You must do the strengthening or flexibility exercises. So going to a place where you want to be is very important. Physical therapy might not fix your problem. However, if you want to give physical therapy the best chance of success, I think Patty Brown is the way to go. I would often sit in an hour of LA traffic each way to go. I was referred by my hockey coach and I can't ever thank him enough for referring me here!!! I had 5 months of physical therapy for both my hips before surgery and another 6 or 7 months after both surgeries. I healed quickly and I credit PT for getting me back to being able to run and play ice hockey. They taught me exercises and stretches that I still do to stay in good form and not get injured again. They also were open early, so I could go before work. They are all personable and monitor you, so you don't do an exercise wrong. Each therapist makes a point to get to know you, everybody is extremely friendly, the facility and work space is clean, and your therapist works with you through the difficult exercises to make sure you are doing them correctly.
