I never got a chance to write this about over a year ago when I came here, but they deserve a raving review--- I literally got off a plane with immense back pain (that's been there for a LONG TIME) and finally said "no, I am going to physical therapy immediately" and walked to the office the next day. Dahlia got me signed up and ready to come in a few days later Michelle and Mackenzie were the PTs I worked with me and they are very professional and helpful with what they do. I loved how they easily figured out all where the source of my problems were and gave a plan and path forward to work them out. I know how to be athletic and fit but nothing like the pain I was going through which is new to me. The exercises were very focused and helpful and I seriously felt a gradual change and the pain FINALLY going away. I never felt they treated the questions I asked like they were dumb or ignorant and genuinely wanted to help me get back on my feet. AJ was the assistant that walked me through the routines and exercises I had to at home. He was very professional and helpful with explaining how to do them right. The area is clean and has everything you would imagine a proper PT place would have. also extra bonus to EVERYONE for making me feel welcomed, because I was terrified of going to physical therapy. Two weeks now since I started my physical therapy so far it's been going pretty good all the stuff members are pretty cool and knowledgeable . I like how they make sure they see you on time with your appointment schedule , they have a huge staff to accommodate with everyone that's getting therapy. My doctor sent me to Made to Move PT for a back issue I was having. I wasn't looking forward to driving from Culver City to El Segundo twice a week but really wanted to get out of pain. THANK GOODNESS FOR MADE TO MOVE PT! From the moment I walked in everyone was so friendly, professional and thoughtful. My therapist, Nahul (I'm so sorry as I know I'm spelling his name wrong) was THE BEST! It wasn't just PT at the facility, but he gave me printed exercises, with photos, to do at home. After 2 months, I was down to once a week. After 6 short months my pain was 99% gone. It only comes back when I don't use the great techniques and tips he taught me. The day I "graduated" I was told to feel free to come back should I need them. If I ever need PT for anything there's only one place I'm going, MADE TO MOVE! I was looking for a PT clinic to help me with my lower back (worn out discs) that prevented me from working out the way I wanted to and caused me discomfort sitting in a chair all day for work. I came to Made to Move and worked with Michelle to get my back on track and even came back for a round 2 and added shockwave therapy and it's helping a lot. This review is a bit late. But i came here last year for a session. Since they are in network, figured I could save some money. After an hour evaluation they told me they could not find the problem. And gave me some exercises to try. The two ladies who who I had my session with were very nice, but after an hour I thought as PTs they could pin point the problem. Decided to get another opinion from another Pt outside of network, it cost me more, but after 1 session I felt so much better. 2 months later I felt like a new person working with my new PT, she was outside of network and more expensive than these guys, but so worth it. Just be aware there are lots of good reviews, but that does not mean they can help everyone here. Even though it was a waste of a session, they are very nice. read more

My Broken Wrist recovery has been so smooth with Megan, The Hand PT Specialist, at Made To Move . She is in direct Communication with My Surgeon's Office. My hand /arm was prepped very gently for PT by the friendly staff. The Front Desk is very efficient and they were able to schedule me soon after surgery. Parking is free and convenient. I am treating now on my third round of PT for a persistent ankle sprain. I am trying to avoid surgery and so I am trying a round of ESWT - the Shockwave treatment. it is weird and hard to see if it is working but i am able to move and walk consistently now. I am not pain free yet but I am no longer totally stuck down with pain every time I do a little gardening. I am 3 visits into a 6-visit shockwave plan and I am very hopeful. This is pricey but after a year of not being able to walk more than a half mile I am getting results. Probably less money than having surgery (with my insurance) so that's a consideration. Office staff is nice but in this case all I care about is walking again. read more

I've only been here for hand therapy but this is my second time, so I came back because of the quality of the care and the attention of the therapists. I have been coming here for my mom for the past 6-8 weeks. This place is thoroughly professional, Dr.Mistry was kind, compassionate, and very delightful. My mom hurt her left arm, and every person who worked with her, and made sure she was comfortable. After 8 weeks her arms are better than it ever was. I really love my therapy that I've been receiving here. The staff is friendly and kind. I've been seeing Rosemary who is working hard to getting my hand back to working properly after having carpel surgery. I also see Mayur for my shoulder therapy and he's been great at helping me with what hurts and getting me stronger . There's George at the front desk and also a therapy aide and he's just the first smile you'll see with a friendly personality. I did notice another p.T. Helper named Bridy who is non stop, working to clean tables, chairs, equipment, and assisting with my therapy tools. I feel she does most of the work to make this place work in a fast and efficient manner. She's also very kind and enjoys her job. She deserves a raise. Michele McCarthy and her staff at Made to Move Physical Therapy have treated me, my wife, and our children off and on for the last ~10 years. We keep coming back because we get such great results and appreciate the exceptional care we receive. Most recently, I suffered a traumatic injury to my lumber spine while lifting in the gym, resulting in a herniated disc. These types of injuries often lead to surgery to correct. Michele would have none of that! After a thorough assessment, Michele built a comprehensive plan to quickly get me out of the acute pain cycle and then progress towards full restoration of spine function and mobility. In just 3 months I'm happy to say that I'm back to running and golfing again. Throughout my path to healing Michele has been an absolute wizard with her understanding of what's happening in my spine, she's made adjustments to her approach along the way because healing isn't always a linear process, and she's been consistently positive and encouraging. I had a wonderful experience here. I made tremendous progress recovering from knee surgery. Kai is wonderful at both getting my muscles back to pre-surgery and doing her PT "tricks" to work out the pain and get movement back. Everyone who works here is friendly and a joy to talk to. Hello Sylvia, We spoke to Natalie yesterday who said she would give us a call yesterday evening or today regarding our insurance and if our appointment for 2 pm today would be confirmed. We never got a call. We called at 1 pm to see what was going on but you guys were at lunch. We began getting mom ready for her appointment and getting her in the wheelchair accessible van we rented for $200 for the day for the very first time. We have never strapped her into this before and by the time we were done it was 2 pm and we started driving to the appointment. We would arrive at 2:20 and we called to check in since you guys would be back from lunch. We were then told that the physical therapist could not see us and that we would have to reschedule. We have had the worst experience with therapy and we were hoping you guys would be our saving grace in this dimly lit time of our lives. You failed us and the receptionist was very rude. The physical therapist that the doctor recommended said he can't do anything for us. We have been doing what we can for her and have been able to get her to feed herself and sit-up and kick her feet. My daughters pediatrician referred her here for physical therapy as she was diagnosed with torticollis. She began treatment at only 6 weeks and just after a few sessions I could see a difference. One year ago, I was so physically weak I could not do simple everyday things like lift my Brita, carry a purse/ backpack, carry groceries or lift my watering can. This was my rock bottom. I started to think that I would never get better and started to believe it was better to accept the pain and accept that this was my life now. I am so grateful that I did not give up the fight. I don't normally write reviews but this experience was so life changing for me that I wanted to thank the staff in some small way. I have a neck injury that has given me pain for 5 years. I have tried everything from PT, acupuncture, acupressure, massage and chiro. My PT therapist at Made to Move had over 20 years experience and it really showed! I have been to so many different PT therapists and she was by far the most knowledgeable when it came to deep assisted stretching. I also used Made to Move's laser treatment to push me over the hump. I am now for the most part pain free and can turn my head to the left. For the first time in 5 years, I am wearing a backpack while hiking which was a big goal of mine. My therapist and I also had frank talks which helped me to understand which hobbies were to extreme and too much risk to continue. I knew this all along but really needed to hear it. My sincere thanks to the entire staff -the front desk, insurance liaison, my two PT assistants and my therapist. This place is amazing! I bring my mom for PT twice a week since she's recovering from COVID. EVERYONE is so nice; they are genuinely trying to help you. We'd had a few people help us (front desk and therapists) and they ALL have great attitude. My mom has shown great improvement and enjoys going there. They are also veeeeery patient with my mom who's older. We've been places where they get irritated or are not as patient when she has to get up or walk slowly. Great place, thank you!! read more

Michelle is an awesome physical therapist! I was hesitant to even try physical therapy because I didn't think It would help. Michelle and staff made me feel comfortable and welcome on the first day and every time following that. They start your therapy at the exact appointment time and don't make you wait 5-10 minutes after the hour. Very professional. I've had 3 sessions now and can see improvement. I had a pinched nerve on the right side of my neck and needed PT really badly! I was lucky enough to call this place and get assigned to the head PT named Ky. I hope I'm spelling her name right. Anyhow, I had a series of treatments, like 25 or so. We weren't sure if my situation was able to be corrected but Ky was on a mission to help me and she did. I am SO thankful to her! My neck felt great at the end of my treatment and she sent me off knowing all of the exercises I can do at home to continue my progress. I have had 4 hip surgeries over the last year due a series of freak accidents, and I am so thankful to have Michele and her team to get me back on my feet each time. The aides are always so kind when helping me with my exercises, and her office staff has been a godsend in submitting all necessary paperwork to my surgeon and insurance company on time. Michele has been a wealth of knowledge and comfort during this entire process. She really listens, and adjusts my therapy depending on how I'm feeling each session. I had a great experience coming here for my wrist. I had injured it over 6 months before and was having a lot of pain due to my previous physical therapist cancelling appointments because of COVID. Michele was my therapist and worked wonders on my wrist, bringing my mobility and strength back to normal within only a couple of weeks. I have had 5 shoulder surgeries and been to multiple physical therapists many of them great others mediocre. I came to made to move after moving to the Westside after my last surgery which was a very specialized shoulder reconstruction. I was referred directly from my surgeon who is a top orthopedic surgeon in LA. I started right before Covid and was able to continue as my therapy was essential and they have been great. They have taken precautions to ensure safety of their patients and staff, clean everything immediately, have sanitizer throughout the office, take your temp before entering and limit the capacity for everyone's safety. I have been to 3 therapists at MTM because of the pandemic (had to switch due to limited staff) and all were great they have gone above and beyond trying to help me get mobility back in my shoulder. read more

At the end of June 2019 I was involved in a serious motorcycle collision which resulted in several fractures and a month long hospitalization including two surgeries. Upon being discharged, I was in search of a good outpatient physical therapist. I loved my physical and occupational therapists in the hospital and didn't think any new ones could possibly measure up. I was wrong. Michele worked with me from day 1, and always provided the perfect combination of challenge and encouragement. My program was primarily exercise/strength based, as my muscles were very weak after a long period of bedrest. The aids were wonderful in guiding me through the exercises and making them fun! They're really happy to chat and are always smiling. The suite itself is nicely done, the small rooms offer privacy, and the gym area is nice and open. The first day I came into Made to Move Physical Therapy, I rolled in, in a wheelchair. Michele helped me relearn how to walk with my new body (atrophied legs from 5.5 weeks of being non weight-bearing) and every time after that I walked in. I remember being a little hesitant when I first tried to walk, it was a scary idea, but Michele's confidence in me made me feel like I could do it. I really credit her and the Made to Move Physical Therapy practice with my speedy recovery. Due to relocation, I had to switch to another physical therapy practice, and really miss Made to Move. Comparing the two practices I have to say that I don't think I'd be where I am today if I hadn't started with Michele and Made to Move. Now, just ~2 months after rolling into the suite, I am able to climb 5.11A routes, slackline, and do pullups (results probably not typical). Aside from the quantitative measures, the energy in Made to Move is good. Everyone is friendly and it's light, bright, and positive. I would highly recommend Made to Move. This is my first ever Yelp review, I made the account because Made to Move is worth knowing about and deserves all the praise it gets. I needed a Certified Hand therapist following a broken wrist. In addition, due to the major cast on my arm, my shoulder function disappeared. Michele and Megan provided my therapy 3 times a week (I definitely needed it!). They were amazing! They educated me about my injury, rehab needs and rehab plan. I received excellent exercises that WORKED and received excellent care and stretching in person at Made to Move. I also was impressed that they remembered me after my first visit: My name, my injury, my limitations and my needs. I found them to be caring and excellent therapists. The staff was great as well! I had sciatica pain on my lower back down to my right big toe for about a year and after coming to see Michele and her team I am just about completely pain free and I'm probably stronger than before. The team is very attentive and proactive with your symptoms and will adjust your excerise routine and stretches to get you feeling better. Hands down one of the best Physical Therapy places in the Southbay! I've been going here for a few months now due to slipped disc. Every single person here is knowledgeable and very friendly! My favorite thing about this place is the environment and atmosphere. Similar to what others have said, they really make you feel like family. I was a little unsure of having to do physical therapy, but the people here made me really enjoy coming to my sessions. They are very attentive and accommodating. I've had to reschedule a few times and even asked to be seen on packed schedules; they were more than helpful and understanding. Also, the facilities, equipment, and resources are always very clean. I noticed that they always make sure to wipe down benches after every use. One session, I forgot to bring my PT clothes and they had a set of spare clothes they let me borrow to ensure I didn't miss the session. Kai is my primary therapist and I can't speak highly enough of her. She knows when to push, but is always ready with various adjustments to help when needed. I've mentioned my goal of returning to Muay Thai and she has always encouraged and re-affirmed my ability to do so. She goes above and beyond by recommending books, takes the time to teach various stretches I can do on my own at home, and really gets involved. She has been doing everything while in her third trimester too! I am still recovering, but can definitely see significant improvements already!
