Three or four years ago, I received Luxembourg citizenship. I was in the process of applying for a Luxembourg passport, which required a trip to the Embassy in Washington DC. So, a week before, I came into the Moto Photo in Glenview to get a European passport photo. The Embassy had sent me instructions on getting the photo taken, which I brought with me. I showed the owner, John, the instructions and he said, "Those aren't right. It's cutting off the top of your head." But I was stubborn and insisted he take the photos per the instructions. He did, of course. When I came back to pick up my photos, John gave me a second set based on what he knew to be right. "There's no charge. But you might need them." A few days later I'm at the Luxembourg Embassy in Washington DC, filling out my passport application. I hand my passport photos to the woman behind the desk. "Oh dear," she said. "These are incorrect. The top of your head cannot be cut off." Fortunately, I had John's second set with me. I showed them to the woman. "Ah yes!" she exclaimed. "These are perfect!" I was clipped head top away from not getting my passport and wasting my trip to DC. A lot of other photo places might have said, "That knucklehead is wrong. But he insisted." And just give me the incorrect photos. But John saved me from my ignorance and gave me what he knew was right. This is one Luxembourg citizen and passport holder who is now a Moto Photo Glenview fan for life. read more

Very unprofessional - Get your passport photos taken somewhere else. My wife and I went to Motophoto to get our passport photos taken. We were surprised when the owner did not even use a tripod to take our photos. This would normally be of no concern, but the photo quality came out worse than an automated photo booth. We also felt rushed when another customer came in the door. It was obvious that the owner of the store wanted to get rid of us quickly. The worst part was the price - COMPLETELY UNREASONABLE. For $52 we received two passport photos and "digital copies that were normally extra money". Please do not waste your time. Go somewhere else for passport photos. Or take the picture with your phone and print it at home - the quality will be better. read more

I found crazy old negatives of my parents wedding day and I wanted to get them developed as a gift for my dads 70th birthday. I wasn't sure anyone in the burbs still developed this particular type of negative because they are individual 4x6 sheets and not the typical rolled film. I stopped by Motophoto and after showing them what I had, they gave me a ton of options without being pushy with the upsell. I liked that they had all the different options already printed and framed for me to place side by side and compare. That was extremely helpful and I ended up going with a wider frame, picture coating and textured paper. It cost me $200 for a 20x24 framed picture and took a couple days but it ended up looking great! I did think the price was on the high side but I can't argue with the results. my wife and i got married in June. We were recommended to use Motophoto. I understand the importance of having a good photographer. These guys are fast and very professional. they know exactly what photos to take and can visualize the final product while taking the pictures. i am amazed with these guys. i consider myself to be a bit of an artist and to have a rather well developed eye. i am critical. i own a barbershop and i talk to guys all the time. because i just got married, wedding talk often comes up. i usually hear stories about photographers that are bad or just not up to par. i feel good about referring anybody to these guys. they are very affordable as well. don't pay for somebody else's name and have their "amateur" photographers do all of the work. you'll end up paying too much and you may not get what you hoped for. did i mention that they are very kind. the day goes real fast, but the photos will remind you of all that happened on that day. it's nice to have some quality photos. read more

If you want quality, you have to pay for it. I went here because I needed a passport photo. I checked walgreens thinking it would be cheaper, but it costs $12. For that price I figured I would get a quality photo. I went to Motophoto and was really impressed by the range of products they have. The studio is covered from head to toe with beautiful photos and albums. They have samples of most of their products that you can actually see and touch, not just pictures of their products. He took my photo and took multiple shots letting me pick the photo that I liked the best. I really loved the picture so I asked him if he could email it to me and he did! You don't get this type of service anywhere else. Passport pics are $10.99, cheaper than Walgreens! Thanks I will definitely be coming back! read more
