I'm been to 3 float locations. Sapphires tanks I love. They don't have all the amenities like tea and books to read. They do have the best tanks and the other needed basics for you to have a great relaxing successful float experience. read more

Really missed the mark. The room smelled like mildew covered by incense. But the major issue was the water temperature and the temperature in the room felt far too high. I asked the receptionist if something could be done and she blamed it on the lid being closed. I've tried this both ways and the lid being open did not help. I've gone to another location but wanted to try this one because it is closer to home but I won't be coming back. The purpose of this is to not feel the water because it's the temperature of your body temp regardless of if the lid is opened or closed. It was almost impossible to relax with how hot it was in there and I ended up getting out 20 minutes early. The receptionist wouldn't listen to this complaint. She said the lid isn't supposed to be closed even though when she did the walk through said to close the lid. I've gone floating over 30 times. This was by far the least relaxing float I've had. Basic float knowledge would really help this location - See below: "if you just look up perceived temperature humidity chart, you'll find a really cool graph of how humidity affects our perceived temperature and especially as you edge up to 90% humidity, getting close to 100% humidity, the perceived temperature is so much higher than what the actual temperature in an environment is, again, because our kind of sweating mechanisms aren't able to do what they want. So, there's a little scientific background for you to get to the answer, which is there's really, there's probably more than this, but 3 main factors that are at work here. One is the temperature of the water, one is the temperature of the air, and the other one is just the humidity in the tank. And as you can imagine because the float tanks are basically just these humidity generating machines, the humidity in float tanks gets pretty high on a regular basis. So, it means that you need to be a lot more cautious about the other temperature, right. If you're water temperature is getting up above 96 degrees, and your air temperature is likewise up in that area, 96 degrees, and you're at 100% humidity, you're now at risk of overheating, but by the same token if the water's at 98 degrees and the air temperature is much cooler and the humidity is at 40/50%, then you might just be totally comfortable. So, there's a balance there in that there's no one temperature you can actually keep your float tank water at, that will either make it dangerous or safe, really." read more

Finally tried this amazing concept!!! The place is just great! The rooms are spacious, private and clean. Once I got into the pod, an unreal feeling of being suspended. Dozed off a few times, how can you not being that relaxed! Music is optional-I chose first and last 10 minutes. If you want to relax and gain energy, this is for you!!! I felt incredible after the first session, skin felt rejuvenated and soft. Cannot wait to go back! Its addicting!!! Awesome ear plugs, not a single drop sneaked into the ears!!! Ok, image this you are free-floating through the air with a gentle warm zephyr supporting you effortlessly as you drift off to your own personal and serene thoughts of your favorite happy place. Well, this is what I felt with my first saltwater floating experience. Now, to what I felt before I went into the float. I work out a lot and had a tough session where my lower back was hurting and my neck, and after I left out I could not believe it; my lower back was 90% pain-free, and my neck was back to 99% pain-free. I said to my fiance' this could not be true on how good my back and neck felt along with the added benefit of my skin feeling so smooth and supple (in a manly kind of way) and even my rusty ass feet was smooth, still hard but smooth(lol). So, I decided not to write this Yelp review until the next day to see if soaking in a 1000 pounds of Epison-salt was just my imagination, guess what, it was not I felt GREAT when I work up! So, my fiance and I bought two memberships after talking directly to the owner. Alex (the owner) did not try and push a memberships all he ever asked us was how did we feel, and we did the talking; unless Alex put some membership liquid in our float, did you do that Alex?(lol) I would highly recommend this Spa for a no-hassle, pain relieving, relaxing mental and physical therapy experience! read more

I have heard of floating and sensory deprivation tanks from a few people. After wanting to do it for over a year, my friend and I booked the float. If it's your first time, this is the way to go! With myself and my friend being booked at the same time, you have the whole facility to yourselves. This offers a certain level of comfort knowing you are not with a bunch of strangers, which really helped me focus right from the beginning of my float session. I didn't have many expectations, which may be why I was blown away at the level of professionalism and all the thought and planning that went into Sapphire springs. The place was impeccably clean and the owner was very professional. Everything is explained to you, even some things that you think are not necessary but end up being very valuable information. We each had our own private room. With that being said, there was no need to worry about locks or having anything taken. Finally it was float time. I took a shower first, then got in the tank, shut the lid, turn off the lights and went for a full sensory deprivation. The music really helps you prepare. I played around with different ways to lay and hold my head so I would be most comfortable. The hour flew by. I thought I was only in for 30 minutes, but my clock said otherwise. I could not believe it. The immediate effects were zero back and knee soreness that I normally have. I felt like I had gone through a massage. The tank allowed me to completely revamp my mental health, reset my sleep cycle and help me to loosen tense muscles. I Will be back again thank you Sapphire springs! read more

Great float. Hard to describe, but if you've heard a lot of hype about it, it's all true. Took about 10mins to get settled, but once the chamber temperature reached the same temp as the water, it wa like I wa floating. Saw a lot of lights and colors, had to open my eyes a few times to make sure it wasn't coming from the outside. Pretty crazy, pretty cool. Not just a novelty and made an appointment for next month. read more

If you want come to this place, make sure you don't make any last minute schedule changes. There's a $20 fee if you make any changes to your reservation on the day. Plus if you use the Groupon it's not shareable. We booked the reservation for 2 people, and called in the morning to reschedule our 7pm reservation, they warned us there's a charge of $20 per person, so we decided not to reschedule. When we arrived, they told us the groupon we purchased is only for one person. So they have to charge the 2nd person full price. I asked if I can purchase a separate groupon right away and use it, the owner didn't allow it. So we ended up only had 1 person doing the float and paid $20 to cancel the 2nd reservation. It's good that the owner follows the rules of the penalty fees; however, all I feel is that I've been to other float place and they are more caring and flexible about the schedule changes and using groupons, and we had a great experience at the other float shop. read more

I've been to multiple hydro therapy places, and this place is BY FAR the best place I've been to. The environment is so relaxing, clean and welcoming. My first five minutes at Sapphire Springs set the mood for the whole experience. I was in AWE from start to finish. The staff was so friendly and welcoming, it almost felt like I already knew them. The girl at the front desk walked me through everything before I started my float and thoroughly explained everything, which I appreciated, because I feel like a lot of flotation therapy centers are different. Sometimes it's nice to know what you're getting into before you get into it. The float itself was EXTREMELY relaxing, I almost fell asleep a couple of times. In the room, I really loved the fact that the motion sensor lights went off when I was in the tank so it was as dark as possible. The music was soothing and I loved that I had a WIDE variety of sounds to choose from. I did have the colored lights on inside the tank for a bit of time, and I loved having all of the different options. I'm super excited to go back to this place, I even bought a package and pre-booked my next 3 appointments because for the first time, I don't have to question whether or not I want to return!!!! read more

Just visited Sapphire Springs, a hydrotherapy facility in Farmington Hills. Anthony, the owner, took the time to explain all of the health benefits of the salt/mineral content, but the real proof was in the experience!
