Just took the weekend Basic Rider class: it was recommended to me by the BMW dealership. I have had a motorcycle license for years, had a lot of experience but haven't ridden in years, so I took the class as a refresher, (figured I'd drop someone else's bike and not mine!) and for that this class was terrific. I was worried that some parts would be boring, particularly the classroom portion, as the others in the class had no experience, but Jude is such a terrific, knowledgeable, and fun instructor that even the classroom portion was interesting and I learned quite a bit. But it was in the riding portion where the class really shined: the instructor is so knowledgeable and enthusiastic, and I was amazed at how quickly the entire class was riding very well. One older woman was quite nervous, her husband had brought her along, but very quickly she was doing very well (better than me!). Other advantages: the class size is kept small, no more than eight, and there were only six in our class. The bikes were in quite good shape, Kawasaki 125s and Suzuki 250s. Also, everyone in our class was older, smarter, and "got it": I was worried I'd be in a class with 18-year-old crotch-rocket types but the "professional approach" indicated via the website perhaps appealed to a more serious sophisticated crowd who were there to learn. Back to the riding portion: the riding drills were quite well thought out, smartly building skills as they progressed, and I found the riding drills both challenging and fun. Again, I really learned a lot, and can't say enough good things about the class and the instructor. He also teaches more advanced classes (see his site/bio), and so I intend to come back for more advanced training, after I get my bike and put some miles on it. read more

Just finished the 2 day weekend BRC course at Motor Pro Training and I could not be more satisfied. Our class had 6 people: I went in having never ridden a motorcycle before, just like 3 others , while 2 others had previous riding experience. The class was broken into 3 hours of lecture in the mornings, followed by 5 hours of riding in the afternoons. The lecture isn't what you would typically expect from a training course, which was a good thing. It is very interactive with a lot of conversation between the instructor and students. This was great since it kept us more engaged throughout. 45 minutes into the first riding session we were already riding (feet on pegs), and by the end of the first day we were doing ovals and shifting into second gear. Progress was much faster than I anticipated, and all the students were riding well. The second day was spent much more on safety, braking, swerving, and reinforcing the skills learned on the first day. The day ends with the evaluation, which the instructor made as painless as possible. Overall I was very pleased not only with the fact that I passed the course (so did all the others), but at the confidence I built up during this time. If you want to attend a class where the instructor goes through the motions and gets you out as quickly as possible, and you can screw around on some bikes for a few minutes this is not your class. If you want to learn from a true expert from the minute you walk in the door, and you are serious about being a better rider this is the class. Jude is a fantastic instructor is very supportive but lets you know what you need to work on. He realizes that the classroom instruction is important but where you do you learning is on the bikes so you are on them as much as possible. He is a true motorcycling guru and is a wealth of information. I would say the curriculum for this class was about 20% of what I got out of it. The other 80% is the information I received from the instructor. Jude is a no nonsense instructor he wants you to be a better rider when you leave the class. I cannot recommend this class any more highly. I came down from Brownwood to Georgetown to attend this class and I am glad I did. Would not even consider taking another class from anyone else unless I had to. I will be a repeat customer I will come back for the advanced class. read more

Jude is a great instructor. We had a wide range of skill levels in class and everyone still walked away learning something new. The 10 hours of training completely eats up a weekend, but I left feeling like it was time very well spent. I was pleased that the bikes were in excellent shape and not some beat up clunkers that would barely stay running like I was expecting. This class can "teach" you how to ride a bike (although I don't think that is its intended purpose), because it starts off at the ground floor basics of where the controls are and graduating up to more advanced levels of sudden stops and swerving techniques. And yes we had some in class that had only ridden on the back of a bike before go from learning how to start the bike to riding over obstacles (2x4) in the road by the end of day 2. read more

What a GREAT Course this is!!! The Motor Pro Training course with Jude, the instructor, came highly recommended from a friend. I am SO glad I took his advise and took my motor cycle course through Motor Pro Training!!! Jude made this course interesting and he was very thorough in teaching the information. He also has some great patience! He made sure we each were comfortable on the motor cycle and that we left with the knowledge and skills we needed to be able to ride a bike and pass the motor cycle test at the DPS office. I drove from Houston to take this course and will send all of my friends who are interested in taking the course to Georgetown to do the same!! Thanks Jude!!! First off I'd like to say that Jude is an Honest, and genuine man, I missed the initial date I signed up for, and he let me take the next scheduled course without penalty or any additional charges. I'm still a new rider, I took this course back in December, and began riding in February. Jude is extremely patient, I'm a cumbersome and a hesitant individual, but the way he teaches is awesome, he instills confidence by showing you how to do the maneuver and making sure you understand it before you commence the maneuver. The things he taught me have already saved my life... literally. So do yourself a favor and do your MSF course with Jude! read more

Attended a recent BRC class with Motor Pro. Absolutely excellent instruction. Very competent, knows how adults learn and teaches to that methodology. Stayed on-time and on topic through-out the class, finished on time each day and answered/addressed any questions or concerns I had. Nice training bikes, not the junk some places use. 30+ years in traffic safety and 40+ years of riding give Jude the tools and experience needed to train safe, competent riders. Highly recommended. I'll be back for the more advanced classes once I get a little more time in the saddle. read more

I was a little nervous going into this class, but Jude made us all feel at ease within the first few hours. He knows everything about motorcycling, but best of all he knows how to teach it to others. We had a variety of confidence levels in the class and he approached each one of us with the individual attention that we needed. When I finished the class, I felt that I had all the knowledge that I needed to get my licence. Most important, I felt that I had what I needed to ride safely. I just took the basic rider class with Jude at motor pro training in georgetown. The classroom was very interactive, personal, and fun. I will be back for the advanced rider course for sure he was a great teacher! Even if you cant ride he is patient and will show you what you need to know and always has only helpful things to say. I took this three day course a couple of weekends ago. Most everyone in the class had little to no experience riding and there were only 7 of us. Jude is an excellent instructor and is extremely patient. He took it step by step and would tell us about the exercise, would show us the course in a book and then demonstrate it by riding the course first.
