You can only do driver license stuff here,I don't think they do road testing anymore and registration is a whole other operation on another street. This DMV does close for lunch and is only open 3 days a week but I highly recommend it. I did get there about half an hour before the lunch break but was told that if I was in the door before the lunch hour that they would serve me. (Which doesn't hold true for the car registration place)

It's the post office, yo…read more This is where the mail gets sorted, distributed, etc. Homeless folks and street performers like to beg for change out front, or play tuneless music in the hopes that you'll pay them a few cents to stop for a moment. BUT. The coolest thing about this post office is that one fair summer evening I stumbled upon two young people in flagrante on the post office lawn, in the altogether, as it were, doing the deed under a tree. We had brief conversation. It was really weird.

Alan-Smith was one of the first places that I went to... but thankfully they weren't the only place. Steer clear, and just go direct to Progressive if you want an actual quote. After a few back-and-forth emails with Alan-Smith, they gave me a "quote" based on a perfectly clear driving record. Now, I'm not the devil, but I don't have an angel's driving record - I also don't have every detail of my history tracked for the last 5 years. That's what the DMV is for. Alan-Smith refused to pull records for my quote, instead saying that they could "pull the record at the time of sale"... which I guess would mean that I'd give them a blank check, and then they'd make up a new premium for me later? No thank you. I'll go with a company that can give me a firm price. You know... like every other business in the country. - Ben

Once I waited in line while the single worker searched for a package for a gentleman without a slip for 15 minutes. Instead of calling for help she kept looking. Never found anything, especially in the envelope stack, while the gentleman told her repeatedly it was a large package. This is last on the list of post offices I'd visit if It wasn't the closest one to my home.

Someone else and I needed to drop off a package and we couldn't find the collection box. It turned out that you had to turn the corner to find the collection box. Really? Also, the lobby smells like piss. Also, the lobby is lacking the important stickers for the automated postage center. For example, I attempted to mail a package today via the APC afterhours, and I needed to put a sticker on the box. It turned out that there were no stickers near the APC. All the stickers were behind locked doors. With no stickers, using the APC may be useless. Hence, I had to lug my box back to my house. FAIL. FAIL. FAIL.
