When I learned that the DMV was no longer doing drive tests I worried it would be impossible to find somewhere to take the motorcycle skills test that didn't "compel" you to take their class and so many places in the Denver area have negative reviews that reflect that concern but that's not the case here. Tiffany (the owner) got me scheduled very quickly and even gave me the test herself. The whole process was quick and painless. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone interested in beginning riding, taking their skills to the next level or just looking to get their Motorcycle Endorsement. read more

I give a 4 star for my actual beginners class. However, I give a 0 star for Bills lack of communication. Therefor, I'll score mid way. My initial class had to be canceled due to weather which was fine cause you know it's Colorado! Bill said he'd reach out within a week to get us all rescheduled. I didn't hear anything at all for weeks. I had sent an email a couple weeks after and no response. It's a bummer cause he didn't communicate well like he said he would in a timely manner. Finally, after he got us all rescheduled the other guys in my class also expressed irritation for how long it took Bill to reach out. Besides that I did enjoy my class. Tiffany and Steve were great instructors. I walked away learning a tremendous amount of mental and physical riding skills. Mentally I was there day one, day two I woke up sick and should have rescheduled especially during Covid times but instead I took some day quill and went to class and hoped for the best. (I did not have Covid symptoms) The whole day all I wanted to do was fall over and go to bed haha! I also panicked when it came to testing time. I did not pass my class. Which was 100% me and not the class itself. They told me to call/email bill to get scheduled to retake my exam. I called and emailed Bill. It's been a few weeks and not a single response. In that time I was able to go take my class and get my endorsement at Iron Buffalo. Iron Buffalo has a bigger range, their curriculum was better in my opinion, they do 20 riding exercises while this class only does 14. The range is bigger which also allowed us to do some higher speed practices. The price for both classes is the same. I do believe you'll learn a lot from either but personally walked away with more riding knowledge from Iron Buffalos beginner training. read more

I recently finished training at MRTC. I am a first time rider and with their coaching I managed to stay up right and safe. I was so nervous taking this class and thought I was going to take off and become out of control. They started off with "easy" riding and became increasingly harder. Yesterday I finished taking the Basic Rider Course. In my opinion it was top notch. Bill is dedicated and passionate about motorcycle riding and rider safety. His staff is fantastic too. They clearly understand the plight of the new rider and they are accordingly patient and helpful. The classes were thoughtful and the riding time was well-organized and useful. And even with inclement weather on Saturday morning, they kept the class on schedule and were highly professional with communication and organization. I actually enjoyed riding in the drizzle. THE CLASS The class spans three days; Friday evening for three hours and then Saturday and Sunday for about eight hours each. MRTC provides the motorcycles and helmets. You just have to dress for motorcycle riding (boots, gloves, long-sleeves, etc) There is a lot of time on the bikes, and the physical course is mapped out in a large parking lot. So the experience really lets you get a feel for riding. THE STAFF There are numerous people on hand throughout the experience, especially on the course. And each person is patient and helpful. They make sure directions are very clear and they encourage you and give you helpful advice, especially when you struggle with a skill. Also, they smile a lot. THE E-LEARNING Prior to taking the course you must complete an online course. As with many e-elearning modules, it doesn't take quite as long as they tell you, but it is still nearly three hours. You don't have to get through it all at once; it bookmarks your spot as you complete sections. I found the e-Learning course very useful, and large portions of it are used in the three-day training. OVERALL If you are interested in learning to ride a motorcycle, I highly recommend this place. read more

I took the basic mrtc course to get my motorcycle endorsement this past weekend. I recently purchased a moped that's 170cc and therefore requires a motorcycle endorsement. The instructors are excellent at what they do!!! I never thought I would feel comfortable riding a motorcycle until I took this class. The exercises are well designed and built up over time, so I really built confidence in my ability to handle a bike! The course is very safety oriented and focuses a lot on preparation. I would highly recommend this course, even if you don't own a bike or aren't sure if you want one!!! P.S. you probably won't get out on time. I saw this as a bonus- they will not rush you during exercises and care more about making sure you're ready than getting themselves home!! read more

I have wanted to learn how to ride motorcycles for years and never got the courage or the opportunity to do so. I signed up for a class here and could not be more excited during the weeks leading up to it. Bill was communicative and helpful prior to class. When I got there I was a ball of nerves but everyone was so warm and welcoming I could not have asked for a better experience. I was in Doug and Wendy's group and I think they were the greatest ever and I am so grateful for the skills I was taught over those two days. Old fart on the phone was super rude and the furthest thing from helpful. I'm 21.. been riding since i was 18. so no.. i don't know everything but i know enough to where all i wanted to do was take the dmv test to get my endorsement. he then proceeded to tell me how he's been riding for over 50 years (as if i gave a fuck) and there's no way I know enough about riding to pass my test. 1st time motorcycle rider who wanted to get their own bike but didn't know where to start. I called around all of the motorcycle schools in the Denver area and was convinced that MRTC was the best choice. 1. They have 2 full size ranges, not any of that "modified range" stuff that other schools use. You want to be able to pick up enough speed to correctly perform exercises and drills. The modified ranges are 1/3 the size. This alone is a huge point. 2. The instructors. They were all excellent and very knowledgeable about the field. Kirk Severson (the owner and director) actually helped create the MSF curriculum. 3. Cheaper than the competition. They even have discounts for signing up with more than just yourself. The class is split into 3 portions. - Friday night 6-9pm is all classroom based instruction - Saturday 730a-230p is half road skills and half classroom instruction - Sunday 730a-1130a is all road skills I went from completely untrained to a confident beginner over the weekend. They start you off with just feeling the weight of the bike and doing short runs back and forth. You then progress to shifting, cornering, and quick stopping. A good deal of the class also deals with low speed maneuvers, the hardest part of riding a motorcycle. I absolutely feel this class is worthwhile and recommend any new rider take it if they want to (more) safely ride a motorcycle. read more

I went here years ago. 2014. I rode for a few years on permits before and thought I knew everything there was to know. My instructor (Yamaha 2stroke racer, I hope I have the right place. The training course and bikes are the same.) gave me an in depth training that has since saved my life on multiple occasions. I really just want to say thank you. The last words you said to me were- "You are going to be riding, having a great day. And you're going to wreck." I was taken back because you told the rest of the class how well they were doing. I though I may have leaned in a bit far or went too fast. You told me to give it my best. You fallowed up with "remember to get back on. Don't worry I've wreck 27(?) times" I always have your voice in the back of my head when I'm riding. I've been across the country. I almost ran into a buffalo crossing the road around a blind turn in yellow stone and heard your voice again. You've saved my ass. Now, I THINK what you meant was, "I see you love this. I usually don't write reviews but this team deserves a 5* recommendation and I would give it 6 if I could. I own a 50cc yellow Vespa and decided to possibly upgrade so I needed to get my license. Booked the course on a weekend in February and boy, it was cold. Bill however was amazing - he accommodated weather with curriculum and made this a superfun, highly educational weekend. The whole team is fabulous and you not only get a solid intro accompanied by excellent demonstrations but every single rider also gets valid and helpful feedback while you develop your own skills. Completely unprofessional. My class was cancelled due to weather. Which was fine. What wasn't fine was that there was poor communication and seemingly no effort or hurry to re-schedule despite my attempts at communicating. Three of four weeks went by and I had enough and asked for a refund. It was clear re-scheduling wasn't a priority. So I took my money to Iron buffalo. MRTC is awesome!! Wife and I just completed this 2 day weekend course (today). Wife and I are 50 & 52, both have very limited riding experience (wife has been on dirt bikes as a kid a few times, while I have only been on a bike once). Call it a mid-life crises, but we decided we both wanted to start riding as a hobby. The instructors were great - you can easily tell that they were very experienced riders - had a strong command in demonstrating how to perform the maneuvers and more importantly, they knew how to teach novice riders. I especially like that as they watched us do the exercises, they would make time to give the individual riders some coaching - identifying our needs/weaknesses and provide specific tweaks to help us improve - HUGE difference maker there!! We also liked that it was a course built specific for motorcycle riding and not just some parking lot. The class was pretty diverse - both young and older - a good mix of men and women - not at all intimidating. Thanks Bill & Tiffany (& Jenna) for your patience and constant encouragement. I just finished the beginners training course with Bill, and I decided I needed to write this review quick before I go wreck and die. (Just kidding Bill, thanks to you I'm going to die in a wood chipper accident before a motorcycle accident.) First of all, the owner/head instructor's name is Bill, which was convenient because our other instructor's name was also Bill. And that goes to show you how far out of his way he goes to make things easy for you. I have previous riding experience, but the pause can be measured in decades. So I had forgotten alot. Having said that, I never knew nearly the amount that I learned on that very first day alone. This is a three day course that starts in the classroom. Bill is a great communicator and before we hit the road (figuratively) the next day, we had a good idea what to expect. And more importantly, we had a good feeling that we could do it safely. The course is simply massive. I have seen some of the courses other schools use and this makes some of them look like a racquetball court. Everything was laid out very well, and when the course was done I felt like I just made the smartest decision I could have made. I have no doubt other schools are good at what they do. I also have no doubt there are none better than the MRTC. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to get back to chipping wood. read more

I never received any type of confirmation email when I signed up so I assumed there was no class going on because thats where they told me I would get all my information. Also it had been raining for 3 days, I find out through a voicemail that They were wondering "where I was" which I had left out of town, I called back to inform them of the situation and they said they had sent the email (which i still never received) and that they no Longer had any obligation to accept the voucher for the riders course which I received after purchasing my motorcycle. First off WOW!!!!! This class was great! It was recommend to me by a few people that I should take a class before getting my motorcycle endorsement and boy am I glad I did. So I started my search on-line to find the best and most affordable beginners class, and as you can imagine I stumbled on "Yelp". I read all the reviews and now after having taken the course I can say without a doubt that every enthusiastic review was the very same thing I experienced. Bill and Bill are two of the most down to earth and overall nice guys you could ask for. They were very knowledgeable and very good at explaining each exercise and then demonstrating it professionally. They took time with each student to give advise on how to improve, progress, and answer any questions they had without rushing or taking to long. The first day of riding I have to admit I was a little intimidated about it after all the classroom stuff, were as before I started the class I thought because I knew how to shift on a motorcycle I could ride one. As I found out there was a hole lot more to it than that. But needless to say by the end of that first day I felt a hole lot more confident in the fact that I would be much more likely to stay safe when it comes time to hit the road on my own. And by the end of the hole course it just blew my mind how much I was able to take away from this experience. So if your thinking about getting your license then please do your self a favor and take a class, I would highly recommend MRTC. You notice the two negative reviews are someone that didn't understand how to check a spam folder or make a phone call, and the other because they had to wait on someone? Neither of whom took the class. There is a reason they are the only negative reviews. I have had some time on motorcycles and scooters, but it's been years. The class was very well designed for both absolute beginners as well as for people with some experience. If you've never sat a motorcycle before, you'd still get up to speed quickly. The instructors are patient and work hard to ensure that everyone is keeping up and retaining the information. The reason the class might go over on Saturday (it did for about 30 minutes for us)? Because your classmates might be struggling a little and the instructors work with EVERYONE to make sure they are getting it. It speaks volumes that Bill and Kelly are able to balance it and still make it work. If you've always wanted to learn to ride, but are feeling intimidated to take a safety course, then this is just the right class. It was a challenge and I was exhausted on both Saturday and Sunday, but when we all walked away with our certificate for endorsement it felt awesome. I had never owned a motorcycle and the folks at Erica Motorsports recommended MRTC. It was an excellent suggestion. The Colorado safety course could be delivered in a very generic way. But at MRTC they have really seasoned instructors. The two I worked with had 50+ and 40+ years of biking under their belts respectively. What that means is that each of the exercises we did on bikes were reinforced with the "why." The tips they provided were so valuable and appreciated. Wendy and Tony genuinely wanted students to ask tons of questions, have fun, but have respect for biking. The bikes we used for class were in good shape and good learner models (light, not too much HP). The lot where we rode was in good shape. The classroom instruction was interactive and, while less fun, covered important concepts and rules to live by. A few small critiques: this business needs some signage. It'd be really easy to miss if you're not from that area. Second, I appreciated the comp water bottles, but they were the tiny kid's size bottles and sitting in water, not ice. I was there for 85-90 degree days and *cold* water would have been appreciated. Those are small things. The most important thing was I left the class confident and well-prepared to limit risk factors. Be a smart rider and take this intro course. Thank you MRTC! read more

I completed the class a few weeks ago and could not have had a better experience. The class room work was very eye opening and has made me a better driver and rider. The staff was great and made me feel very comfortable asking questions. The on bike section of the class was great. Each section builds on the last and from a guy that has spent very little time on two wheels it moved at a good pace. I received a Vespa 150cc for my birthday and needed the motorcycle endorsement to ride it on the street so I shopped around for local training courses and decided on MRTC. I am SO glad that I did! The training I received was thorough and easy to understand. The instructors provided excellent instructions and demonstrations and individually worked with students to master the necessary skills. I was amazed at how quickly I learned to ride a motorcycle with no prior experience! I obtained my motorcycle endorsement thanks to Wendy and Stu and feel grateful each time I ride to work for their help and training. Excellent facility and trainers! Initially I was leaning towards a less expensive facility as this was a little more costly. I also thought that maybe I could be self taught and then take the DMV test to same myself the money. I made the decision that you get what you pay for when it comes to instruction and invested the money. Boy was I glad I chose to take the class over saving the money. My initial evaluation of myself was that I was a good rider having ridden dirt bikes most of my life. Street riding is different from dirt riding. I took the basic rider course and was surprised to see the amount of education we received in a weekend. The course was great. It will allow me to practice the proper fundamentals to get better and the instructors gave excellent keys to remember in day to day riding. Note - do plan on adding an hour or two to the finish time posted on the website as we went over both days. I was perfectly fine going over the time because there was no wasted time and we focused on getting better at riding. Nothing was rushed and they were very patient with all experience levels of riders. We did have a few first time riders and by the end, I was amazed at their progress in only two days of actual riding. Tons of time out riding and learning. We logged over 16 miles of riding in a parking lot a little larger than a football field. Bill and Wendy were excellent and both gave me insightful tips to make me a better rider. They were encouraging and fantastic coaches. They gave me tips and reminders to take my riding to the next level. Every student was extremely engaged. Classroom time was interactive and very valuable. I couldn't have asked for a better course to help me protect myself on the streets and become a life long learner about riding. These guys are legit. As a completely new beginner female rider, it was intimidating to just sign up for the class, let alone walk in and get on one. They were friendly and accommodating from my initial phone call and throughout the weekend. They take safety seriously but knew how to make learning to ride safely fun. The beginner class was fairly idiot proof- as I didn't even know how to turn a bike on, let alone ride it- and they gave me a tremendous amount of confidence in my ability to do it with their careful and attentive step by step teaching. I had a great experience here. All of the instructors are patient and offer coaching at any time. They are focused on teaching the safest way to ride and always being aware of what is going on. I went from having no riding experience to being able to complete turns, quick stops, swerving, weaving, shifting, etc in the 1 and a half days of on bike training. I loved the experience and would recommend anyone interested in learning the basics to check them out! As a beginner I was hesitant/reluctant to take any motorcycle classes. Bill and Tony were awesome instructors and made it very useful and fun. I learned a TON. They made sure you were executing the things needed to be safe and improve your skills. The class sizes were just enough to feel like it was not a group lesson, but hands on one on one instruction. Tony also showed us how the next exercise was to be done which was invaluable. I would recommend these guys to anyone as the passion they have for the motorcycle, students, and respect for the safety of riding on two wheels was tremendous.
