Gorgeous shop! they brought my WRECKED cb360 back to life. Techs can troubleshoot ANY problem. It's worth your penny. Attached some sweet photos of customer bikes from the shop- truly the best people store here Awesome community.

    Bike immediately after slide

Complete scam artists and, in my case, negligently criminal. Claimed to fix my bike and it almost killed me while driving away from the shop. They refused to take responsibility. I've fallen a couple times before and can admit I was at fault those times. But just after I drove away, the bike started accelerating on its own right as I pressed the front brake. It was like a rug was pulled out from underneath me. Literally feet from their shop where they supposedly "fixed" it. I'm not religious, but I thank god every day I hadn't gotten to the Wburg bridge yet (and that there were no cars around). You can see the slide marks and my bike in the photos. Don't make the same mistake I did. I saw the negative reviews and thought, "well idk where else to go with an older bike" and "maybe I'll get lucky." Think about how bad these reviews really are. Besides Val completely making up BS correspondence (see another user's review about trying to prove she sent an estimate via email with a handwritten note) and charges (see any bad review), the majority of reviews that aren't simple maintenance for new bikes/scooters involve her upcharging for the service, making the bike worse off than it was when it came in, and/or (in my case) endangering the rider. If you want to pay a pretty penny for maintenance on your new sportster, sure - talk to Val. But if your bike is more than 5 years old and requires anything more than standard maintenance, I'd steer clear unless you like being harassed or even potentially killed (and then blamed for their mistake).

Steve McQueen vibe in this place. Cool antiques bikes.

Des (the mechanic) is very friendly and just an overall genuine guy. I would trust him with my bike for sure. Des went way out his way to make sure service went smooth. I got an inspection and he didn't push anything and gave some good tips. This is my spot to get my Vespa fixed moving forward. Such a good atmosphere there and the bike collection is amazing. Go here. You'll love it!!

I can't say enough good things about my experience at MotorGrrl. Until I moved to another part of the city I kept my bike here. I'm a new rider, and the staff was nothing but helpful and went out of their way to help a rookie like me find their way. Val, Steve and AJ are top notch - and will make sure you are taken care of. One thing I didn't anticipate was the built in community that MotorGrrl provides. There were so many times that other patrons would stop and assist me when I was tinkering on my bike - or just to stop and chat. Everyone is friendly and welcoming. With the full throttle membership you get 24 access and access to tools and the lifts. If you are considering going to MG for storage or mechanic work - DO IT. I will definitely be returning to have my bike worked on in the future.

10mm wrench and socket still on my bike just waiting to fly off or get jammed up in my chain or worse all courtesy of moto girl.

Soo it's going to cost me over 5k. That's $5000.00 to fix everything this bitch fouled up on my bike. I went there with one problem and she gave me a bike back with ten not to mention they left a wrench on a screw head just waiting to kill me or some innocent person as I rode the bike home the only time the bike ran. Oh yeah and she gave me a whole bunch of screws and washers back after taking my nose off and putting it back on. As if a bike ever comes with extra screws. She's a laughable excuse for a business. Laughable.

He's slick talking and he's always 'giving you a deal'. I had a small throttle cable issue on my 03 Bonneville that only required taking the tank off and adjusting the position of the cable. I couldn't do it myself because I didn't have the tools to do it. Sean said they'd knock it out real quick and 'give me a deal'. When he handed me a bill for $280 I reluctantly paid that knowing I'd probably never come back there again. Also, next time I went to take my seat off, noticed that both stock Triumph seat bolts were gone and they just threw on 2 different bolts that weren't even the same length. I did buy brake pads from them once and they didn't over charge for those. I did the brake pad replacement myself tho... So maybe, if you need parts, see what they've got but don't have them touch your bike. Don't get your bike inspected there either. They'll charge you double what it costs

(I am posting this review anonymously)…read more I am conflicted as I write this review. Hugh (owner & chief mechanic) and Fumi (mechanic) are extremely competent, old-school mechanics, and their positive reputation is well-deserved. Hugh is responsible for keeping the sub-culture of vintage British motorcycles alive and well, in the dealer-infested NYC. I have used the mechanic shop since 2016. I really wish them well and want the shop to continue to succeed. However, over the last couple of years I have had bad experiences with them. Josh who is now the shop manager is lacking in people skills, communication, dependability, follow-through, courtesy & humility and other principles of basic customer service. It is not easy to bypass him, given he also blocks the customers from talking to Hugh directly which is odd given part of the great experience with Sixth St Specials used to be the friendly contact with the mechanics who work on your bike. Most recently, the brand new tyres they installed in June 2020 developed side-wall cracks despite just 6 months/3K mile use. I had diligently inflated the tyres to the manufacturer-recommended PSIs, ridden the motorcycle non-aggressively on tarred roads, and winterized the motorcycle on the center-stand in a weather-controlled garage etc. When I asked for help with filing a warranty claim with the tyre manufacturer Josh was unhelpful despite multiple calls and never followed through. I had to contact the tyre manufacturer directly and have them call the shop to get the purchase details in order to file the claim. Last year, I had poor experiences dealing with Josh as well (for e.g. he insisted that my motorcycle did not have liquid cooling even though it did, pushed me towards the brand of tyre he had in stock, mounted the tyres despite my forewarning that the manufacturing dates were more than 5 years old, gave me strict ultimatums on deciding various options of fix for a rear brake light trigger etc.) I believe this issue is fixable and I hope the shop does not lose its hard-earned reputation because of the shop manager.
