In 2015 I brought in my engine off my 2002 R6 for a top end overhaul. I also brought in my front forks off the same motorcycle as I was in the process of rebuilding my bike and needed some extra help. My forks, which had never been serviced before were in need of a total rebuild. I waited to post this review until now because now the motorcycle is running. I can say that my entire experience with this shop was the best I have ever had. These guys were willing to work with me and did a fantastic job! My bike stated up the first time after I finished it and the engine runs better now then before... My front forks when I got them back looked bran new... The work these guys put out is awesome. What I appreciated most was how willing they were to work with me... Like most of you, my bike is very important to me, but I felt I could trust this shop. They allowed me to bring in my own parts (shipped via Revzilla for tire and Ebay for bearing) with no issues and it took about a day (in December). I was impressed they took care of my muffler that was hanging on by a thread on their own, free of charge. Will return and if the service is the same I will bump it up. Manny is a good dude and thus far I wouldn't go anywhere else. EDIT: Forgot to mention they noticed my clutch cable needed to be lubed so they took care of that as well for free. I have a 2006 custom Harley chopper with an auto clutch and jockey shift. I needed fork seals for a custom fork, new battery box, BDL open belt shaft bearing ring, auto clutch repair, and the usual fluids, and tires. I had put off doing the work, because I could not find anyone who knew about the auto clutch, and was sure no-one would find the out of production fork seals. I took a chance on Speed Motorcycles, since my go to shop had closed. I got a good feeling when I first met Manny and Willie. Let me just say, I really felt like family when I picked up the bike today. The added detailing they do, made the bike look better then new. Willie worked on the bike over several weeks, tracking down fork seals from Italy, tearing apart the auto clutch, calling BDL to get information on the best repair process, decided to take the carburetor apart and found some much needed work to do. Best of all he takes photos of all the procedures and the repairs needed. I think they were sad to see the bike leave, they had put so much love into it, and you don't find that anywhere else. The knowledge Willie has of Harleys is mind blowing, especially old school bikes like mine. I have to say this is the best money I have spent on my bike since I had it rebuilt in 2008. If you decide to form a relationship with this shop, you won't regret it. I must tell you good work takes time, and if you think you are going to get a rush job done for your sake, then look elsewhere, Manny and Wille do not cut corners for the sake of time. Just picked up my gs500 from manny and willie and they got the job done. Brought the bike in to service the carbs, change a gasket and get some electrical bugs sorted. Overall the bike is running how id expect now. Service took a while but that was mainly for the parts to come in. Over the phone they might seem inattentive and rough, BUT theyre busy guys and have a lot of work to do which youll see from the large number of bikes theyre working on. In person theyre much better so definitely dont let their phone skills sour you. For price it ended up being what I expected and fair. Overall good shop. Manny and Willie are solid. Of course that's dependent on them being incredibly honest, trust worthy and not looking to put their kids through college by overcharging their customers for every nook and cranny. I've been going to them for nearly twelve years and never not once have they ever let me down. Not only do they do professional work but they're timely and they show their customers every single thing they do. These guys are kind, honest and truly good people. How good are Manny and Willie? I've had scooters for years and been to many shops and since getting a vespa in NYC the main shop was not even worth going to... crazy waits, couldn't tell me when it could be done, super expensive quotes. Speedy's I was able to work it out that I drop my bike off and pick it up at lunch or after work. I used to work on my scooter myself and although I'm no professional mechanic I appreciated them figuring out my problems right in front of me and showing me the broken part in seconds after I had my bike torn apart in the rain for hours. And they're pricing seems to be based on how long it actually takes them rather than some incredulous figure out of a pricing manual. I'd heard about their shop and great reputation and decided to try it even though I live much closer to other shops in Brooklyn. Absolutely worth the travel-- my bike (Triumph Bonneville t100) has never sounded better. I also appreciate that they're open at 8:30 am and close at 6. I can get to their shop before work or even make it there after work-- other shops seem to open too late and close earlier-- which never seems to work for my schedule. Bought bike in for repairs from an accident. 6 weeks later, the bike still needs work. The bike isnt running well, used cheap parts for repair, and I still cant figure out what took so long. Also, not very friendly on the phone so I didn't know what was going on with the bike. I've needed to take the bike to another shop to fix their repairs. I made the grave mistake of buying a bike off the 'bay and it looked great in pics, but when received it had leaking forks, the idle was off and running rich and after a few months of riding it, the rear brake cylinder failed as well as the front brake pistons were corroded. i'm surprised I am even alive writing this because I was riding a death trap. Thank you to Manny and company at Speed Moto for taking my bike in and giving it a full overhaul. It took a while to find the parts for a 75 cb 750f but they got the work done eventually and I cannot even recognize this bike. It seems like they tacked on a different engine. It is more responsive at the throttle, has better handling due to the new springs in forks, and it brakes on a dime. No longer do I fear for my safety on this bike. Manny and Willy are truly amazing. I would not let anyone else in the city work on my bike., They are honest and fair and really know their stuff. Last year I had a problem with my bike where it was not running smoothly and when I closed the throttle when leaving the highway, it afterburned and stalled a few times. Not fun. They tuned my bike and after that it runs again like a dream. Today I went in for my annual safety check/sticker and I also inquired about my front shocks which I have been finding a bit spongy. They looked at it and indicated that the shocks were soft and recommended a spring replacement. He also indicated that it would be better for me (read cheaper) if I would purchase the springs online and then have them mounted. This knocks of about $40 of the whole repair. He told me which type of spring to purchase and where. BTW I also googled my bike and a generic complaint was that the stock springs in the front suspension are generally causing complaints. And indeed most people recommend to use the replacement springs that they also recommended. This gives me the idea that they are spot on and honest. So I can only highly recommend them. And their shop is always full!! Mind, they recently moved to 84th street but at their previous address they already had a very large amount of excellent reviews. I very rarely write reviews but it's so important to find good honest mechanics that I want to do everything possible to support these guys. They used to be located in Manhattan but were squeezed out like most small businesses by exorbitant rents. Their new location however is really convenient, just over the Willis avenue bridge by bike or take the #6 to Brook Ave. less than 10 minutes from Manhattan. My current ride is a 2003 Suzuki SV 650 which Manny and Willie have kept in like new condition for over a decade. They do high touch, high quality, honest and reasonably priced work with a smile. And they have no problem with you buying parts online and having them shipped directly to their shop; to get just what you want at the best price you can find. After a recent inspection Manny told me I was ready for a new set of tires, so I had a set of Pirelli Angels shipped from Revzilla direct to Speed and rode out with a new pair of shoes in a couple of days, what a breeze. read more

It took the mechanics a couple of weeks to get to my bike which was a little frustrating but once I finally got the bike back I was very happy with the work that was done and the attention to detail. STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE! Unless u have a junk, unlike my bike. I bought a custom made chopper and took it to them for tune up and oil change. They made me change the starter, said my bike won't start. Did change that, now they saying it's not the starter, it's the altinatior. Now they told me a have to change the altinatior! Did that too. Finally started the bike, but charged me $1450.00. I took the bike out of store, after 40 min ride bike shut off and I called them and towed it back to them. Now they saying my clutch o ring and clutch sleeve not good. Temporarily fixed it, took a ride on it. I felt they really did something wrong with my front suspension. The main mechanic has same length of chopper bike, suspension also same. I doubt I just cxchaged them! Since I did not see it couldn't accuse him. There is a reason these people are so sweet talker, a sweet talker mechanic never honest! (That's a tips). U rather go to a mechanic who has attitude issue, at least he will get the job done. read more
