I arrived early for a class but had to check in twice because one of the ladies at the front didn't believe I checked in. Watched as they let others through while I waited. This is my yoga home and I feel so lucky to have it so close to my actual home because I would seriously drive really far to be able to practice here. The owners and teachers are all so kind and wonderful. They are so welcoming and I look forward to all the time I spend here every week. The variety of classes fulfills all of my needs. This place has been so great to me as a beginner to yoga. I came originally to fix a knee injury. They were very helpfUl and kind being my first time. Since, I have been back several times and am trying to be a regular. You become part of the family there and they always have a good mix of people who are not pros with a few who rock it. It's just a welcoming place for everyone. As far as the results. I always feel much better after going. My knee is so much better with full flexibility. The workout is very challenging which I like. I try to get all my guy friends to come with me. I have never sweat so much. Thanks for the great studio. Excited tO go back. Love the app and how easy it is to view classes and book them. The staff is welcoming, super friendly, and absolutely loving. When I step inside I immediately feel relax and calm. Love this place! I recommend it to everyone! Since going I know my core strength has drastically improved and I feel way more at peace the days I go! I'm totally addicted! I even got my husband going and his flexibility has gotten a lot better! He's had a lot of back problems and he has a really physically demanding job! from doing this and some deep tissue massages (he's even cut back a lot on that) he's been completely pain free. I think it has helped a ton with his back, strengthening all the muscles around the spine and also in the core that helps offset back pain!. I love the heated aspect of it it feels like a detox! I've only been seriously practicing for about 3 weeks here at motto but I have to say that coming here is doing wonders for my body, mind and soul. It's terrible to say this but I enjoy seeing how sweaty I can get after a session lol. I have a background doing CrossFit, and after my last surgery I wanted to find a good but low impact workout. Not sure why it took me so long to start yoga. I had a severe lower back Injury. Crushed disks, broken ribs, torn tendons, 3 years ago. Im a barber so im on my feet all day and naturally the lower back is wrecked by the end of the day. 1-2 chiropractor visits a week and Epsom salt bath soaks was my every day routine. Untill, I started coming to the sound healing Yin class on Sundays and Tuesday nights. Seriously!! For the first time in 3 years. Im not in constant pain! Last week, I mentioned to Margaret (the instructor) about my lower back Injuries. This week the entire 60 min class was about lowerback stretching and strengthening. I'm blown away! I had not been to a yoga class in over 15 years and started going back then to help recover physically and mentally after a snow sledding accident in California. Now, I have been living in Arizona for 14 years and needed to get back into yoga to help get back in shape again, as rear ended on the freeway and caused problems in my neck and back. Plus there is arthritis too. At age 64 and about 30 plus pounds overweight, I started attending this place in January. I started private lessons with David. David has helped me so much and starting to feel good about my efforts, although it's taking time to get those flows right and hold a downward dog longer. All the people working here, including the trainers and class leaders are all amazing positive people and this old guy really appreciates them. I plan to continue going all year. Work trainings had me in mesa for a short time recently. One thing I need anywhere I go is a yoga studio, so I tried Motto Yoga. The people there are incredibly warm and inviting and not pretentious. I took the Journey (I think that's the name) class a few times. It is pretty rigorous, so you'll have a challenge if that's what you want. It seemed good for beginners too, as there were a fair amount of beginners there and teachers I had seemed to be all about acceptance and non judgement. Also, the restrooms are clean. read more

When I started at Motto Yoga I realized I could not physically do Hot Yoga. I would over heat. I had purchased a package of 25 visits and was excited to go to the non heated Yin classes. The teacher was great. Shortly after I purchased the package the class i went to each week was cancelled and the teacher was gone. I struggled to fit in the very few classes left and the teachers were questionable. They finally go some excellent Yin teachers and told me I could not finish out my package with 10 classes remaining. My membership had expired. I tried to negotiate but no luck. They have a great deal of teacher turn over and were not willing to work with me. Update just recently the owner of the studio called and offered to extend my contract for 60 days. She was not the one I had worked with originally. Super happy she was willing to work with me. read more

Motto yoga is a great place to practice hot yoga. I hate the heat but love my hot yoga. When I take classes my mind blocks all the craziness of life out. Hot yoga has helped me do that. So I always have an hour to work on myself. Everyone needs that! It just helps me get through my day so much better. I crave yoga so when I miss, my day doesn't go as well.
