We ordered pizzas and steak & cheese subs for a small gathering and everything was delicious

We just moved to the Amherst area and decided to pop into the store and we were pleased to see that we had a cute little shop where we could order some food and it was a short walk! We got a couple things from the menu. My 7 year old had a burger and isn't used to the cheeses used here (she just wanted orange cheese ) and was a little shocked when it was white. But the burger was super yummy as well as our sandwiches! We will for sure be going back! We have no complaints about the service either. Everyone was beyond nice! read more

I got a cheeseburger. it was very dry and small by other restaurant standards. I was going to order a Reuben, but the grilled sandwiches did not come with fries. And the burger did not have the toppings I ordered. No condiments on the tables. You had to walk to the front of the store for cheap plastic utensils and to the back of the store for cheap condiment packs. And again further back to get a drink. And they had the nerve to put out a tip jar. A woman picked up her order at the grill in back, (and you have to carry it to the front to pay). The cooked said loudly to the cashier for everyone to heat "This woman didn't pay yet" All in all, unprepared, unprofessional and rude. read more

I ordered a roasted turkey with cranberries salad and they forgot to send me the turkey.

The food was fantastic and the atmosphere was very quaint. The service was very good. I would highly recommend this business.

Shocked there are not more reviews given everyone locally goes here to pick up deli lunch or grab an ice cream or a dinner pizza. I've been working my way through the extensive menu of sandwiches and soups. Store has more extended hours in the summer than in the other seasons due to school/staffing. Let me begin by saying that my family has eaten at Moulton's several times and loves it, so my wife and I came up from DC to visit, they suggested we come for lunch. However, I had a slightly different experience than them. I ordered the Caprese Panini to go-simple enough, right? The problem is, when they returned home with our lunch, what I was greeted by was not in fact a panini, but a Mozzarella sandwich on toast. You can't make a panini without using a panini press. I suppose this isn't a BAD sandwich, but it is definitely NOT a panini. As a side note, my wife ordered the Veggie sub, which was supposed to include Provalone cheese, but didn't. Not a huge deal, but not right either. I hope it was just an off day, but I'm not rushing to go back. read more

We Just had the worst experience dealing with the 2 woman at the Counter. Stopped in there to have lunch. We are working in Amherst. The 2 nasty women at the counter had an Attitude towards me for asking a simple question. I asked if they could make an iced latte with almond milk It was like I was bothering them. They both looked very miserable! I asked the younger woman if she had almond milk and she just looked down and ignored me. I said excuse me, do you have almond milk ? Still no response, I said wow! This is definitely not the way to treat customers..The food is always great there. But, having miserable workers like forget about it. We will go elsewhere. Good luck .. read more

We love Moultons it always has what we need, only downside is that they had this soup I liked and never had it again.

Only downside about this place is that they are closed on Sundays. Great food and a small selection of beers.

We love this place! I love how they have a "Make your own Sub" menu item. My new go-to sub is Black Forest ham, Capicola, Boursin, Roasted red peppers, Banana peppers, Spinach, Tomato, Mayo and Balsamic vinaigrette. My son says their Steak & Cheese is the best in the area. My wife loves the Santa Fe Veggie Burger. (The burgers are HUGE!) The onion rings, fries and tots are a hit as well. Be sure to online order as the wait can be long. read more

I. Am. Obsessed. As a new resident of Amherst, I can see all of my money going to Moulton's very quickly. They literally have it all: Coffee bar- delicious Local treats of all kinds- anything that comes in a jar such as pickles, olives bbq sauce..baked goods, maple syrup, an entire case of local PIE AND ICE CREAM, chips.. you name it. Local beer An eye-popping-delicious-looking bake case A heated case with breakfast sandwiches ready to go Local cheese, boars head products Premade meals, premade salads- all of which are delicious Homemade soup bar- omg amazing and always unique flavors with a lot of options And then there's the food counter. They literally have everything. I love the #2 sandwich which is basically a thanksgiving sandwich. Their pizza is perfect- thin with a nice crispy crust, fresh toppings. A bit disappointed. Order a pulled pork sandwich which used to be so outstanding I raved to family and friends about it! Plentiful pulled pork on a nice roll with coleslaw on top and a pickle on th side. Astounding. I would have given it 10 stars if I could. After some time away I ordered a pulled pork sandwich today and got a very different maybe average sandwich. Pulled pork with onions and hot peppers on regular toast bread. A bit hot nothing to cool it down. No great roll just bread. No longer my favorite sandwich. The whole menu has changed. Maybe Pandemic cost cutting.... read more

I don't want you to know about Moulton's Market; I want to keep it my own secret. Every visit is a treat in quality location, ambiance, food and service. If you are lucky to visit, there's one rule; You enter on the left door and exit on the right. I'm on a personal quest to try each item on their menu. Today we sampled Specialty Sandwiches #18, #10, #9 and a side of large fries. The sandwiches were perfectly assembled with the cheese as the base, next vegetables, then condiments and topped with protein. This keeps the bun from getting soggy in case you need to travel before eating. The fries were fresh cut, cooked to perfection (just before serving) and wonderfully seasoned. The market offers every other element of your breakfast, lunch or dinner. We added deep-fried peanuts (in shells), hand-cooked chips and sugar dusted lemon poppy seed doughnut cupcakes. Next visit I plan to dessert on the ginger-snap cookies. Their social distancing practices were practical, logical, easy to understand and seemed very secure to me. read more

A great place to get a burger, sandwich or pizza. They also serve some of the best onion rings in the area. The store portion of Moulton's has a decent selection of drinks and snacks for a road trip. I'm updating this review after being contacted by someone associated with the restaurant. She says that they do offer recycling but the employee I asked was not aware of this. Okay. But I don't live nearby so I can't return to verify. There were multiple recyclable items in the trash can I walked past on the way out the door. That would suggest that either the policy isn't clear or they don't have a policy. Check it out for yourself, I guess. read more

In a sleepy little country town called Amherst in NH if you're lucky you'll find this little gem. In a hurry to get to a job i stumbled on Moultons to grab a coffee and why not... a breakfast wrap. little did i know i was about to enjoy one of the best cups of coffee id had, but THE best breakfast burrito i have ever had! So on my way back through i stopped again for lunch ... the place was hopping at lunchtime on a Monday and for good reason. Cajun Chicken Wrap was just as good. Sometimes you think to yourself 'that wasn't bad but it should have cost $2-3-4 less', id have been happy and would still return at $3 more but dont tell the owner that ;-) read more

WHen you compare it to other businesses around, Moulton's is great! That's because there are no other businesses around. So, if you are in the center of Amherst and need something to eat, (or some quick groceries) the options stop here. The selection is small and the staff has been very cold the last few times I've been in (out of necessity). They also stocked wine that had gone bad. They had a display near the door-with the constant changing of temperature in the winter (FREEZING when the door opens), there was no hope for this wine. The new(ish) sub section is great though. Moulton's Market is great place to get what you need when you want something delicious and made fresh, they offer homemade soups, salads, fresh made sandwiches and great pizza. Located in Amherst Village its an awesome spot for lunch, my wife and I take the kids there sometimes after school. I find it has a selection of all types of common staples and gourmet cheeses, meats, and snacks. This of course is not a supermarket by a great venue to pickup something quick and support your local businesses. The staff is always friendly and helpful. In all its a clean and convenient small market, with great food and I enjoy every visit. read more

I just stumbled on this fabulous place. I could give the a hundred stars I would! Friendly staff, really excellent food on many levels. The cooks out back offered my something that wasn't even on the menu yet. Next weeks special Gooda cheese & steak sub... Is awesome! This shop has been here for 200 years and still running. I believe these people need an award. I would highly recommend people to come from far you well very surprised of the great fresh and taiste of there food. Moulton's catered my wedding reception (can confirm: everyone loves pizza at a wedding) with 35 (!!) boxes of amazing NY style pizza and salads. My guests loved the pizza--which is saying a lot because most of them were from New Jersey, and we are notorious pizza snobs :) Moulton's service was exceptional--Brad was so easy to work with and made our large request come true exactly the way we pictured it. I just had a pepperoni pizza from Moulton's. It was so good!!!! The crust was one if the best ice had. It's a hand tossed 20" crust cooked to perfection. It was firm yet chewy all the way through. We've been going to Moulton's for a few years. Alway's excellent food. Last weekend we picked up our order and something has changed. There was literally one piece of pepperoni, one piece of ham and one slice of cheese on what used to be my favorite Italian sub. This is ridiculous. The change in New Ownership of the restaurant is obvious and not good. Very disappointed to loose what was a Great place. I won't be back. read more

*Best deli in the area!* Also, a selection of pizzas and the best breakfast burritos around. There are a few seats in the store, and the coffee pots are always full. This is most definitely my favorite deli in town. The deli is fresh and fast. I enjoyed the turkey breast sandwich(#5) on a fresh deli roll. I also enjoyed the freshly made desserts, in particularly the cherry crumble pie, though there didn't appear to be a bad option in the case. First time visitor and I noticed that there was some Philadelphia/Jersey references. I'm from philly and have not found a decent hoagies since I've lived in NH. How hard is it to not put peppers on a salad??? Every time I say "no peppers " I get peppers. The old Moultons was by far superior. I've ordered the same thing 4 times in last 2 weeks and not only is it prepared differently each time but the price varies every time. Why?? They are inconsistent and are guilty of price gauging. I guess this doesn't matter to the Amherst elite living fat down in the village but I just can't donate to Moultons greed anymore and that's a shame because i used to eat there 3 to 4 times a week. I'm writing an update to my last review because the owners of Moulton's seem to have got it together a bit and are showing signs of real progress toward being a destination place for morning coffee and donut commuters, and weekend excursionists. They have reconfigured the layout of the aisles and added extra room for roaming around tables, and also are hiring friendlier counter help these days. The dumpster remains as an unwelcoming eyesore into the heart of the historic village area (too bad they can't build some sort of housing around it or move it to the back); but all things aside, the place has foudn it's stride and I think they'll only continue to improve. read more

I have ordered here from time to time. I like their pizza its solid. I when in the other day to try a sandwhich I had the Turkey Breast with Mozzarella, Roasted Peppers, Lettuce, Tomato and Balsamic Vinaigrette for $6.95. I love this sandwhich I would get inot but everything was great so. Their buffalo chicken sandwhich was great too didnt have the traditional chicken fingers but deli meat meat with buffalo sauce. The only thing that keeps this place down is ordering process and lack of parking. read more
