The owner and staff were super welcoming and walked us through all their offerings, which made the experience even better. We kicked things off with a cider flight--our favorites were Early Harvest and Graveyard. Early Harvest was simple, crisp, and just sweet enough, while Graveyard reminded me of a Scottish smoky cider aged in whiskey barrels. I do wish there were a few more sweet options overall and possibly a current up to date list of what's on tap somewhere online, but everything was well-crafted and flavorful! To cool off, we grabbed a cider slushy (highly recommend!) and wandered the property. We visited the goats, strolled through the apple trees, and made friends with their big fluffy Pyrenees who was living his best life napping in the shade. I picked up a bottle of Early Harvest and a t-shirt to bring back to DFW. It was the perfect stop--relaxed, local, and a great way to start the afternoon before heading into Yosemite. After our tasting, we walked through some of the apple trees, visited the cutest goats, and made friends with their big, lazy Pyrenees dog who was living his best life soaking up attention. I picked up a bottle of Early Harvest and a t-shirt to bring back to DFW--both worth it! Such a charming little spot--relaxed, scenic, and just the right detour before Yosemite!

All of the staff went above and beyond to be super friendly and inviting. It felt like my husband and I were regulars the way the wait staff treated us. You could tell they treat every customer as if they're the only person in the winery, despite it being full. Every question we had was met with patience as they guided us on the best food and wine pairing. They also are super accommodating to pets, and were able to enjoy a nice meal with our pup. The food was all fresh and delicious. Everything tasted like it was made from the heart. My husband got the angel hair pasta with chicken, a favorite of his, and it did not disappoint! I got the brown butter sage gnocchi, made with fresh sage from their garden. We also enjoyed the meze board. My husband who does not like falafel was fighting with me for the last piece. For dessert I ate the rosemary shortbread with lemon curd. Just like with the sage the rosemary was also freshly picked from their garden. The shortbread was not too dry but also the perfect ratio of crispy on the outside and slightly moist on the inside - the exact way shortbread should be baked. I normally am picky with lemon desserts, but their lemon curd was also perfect - not too sweet and not too sour while still maintaining that fresh flavor. My biggest regret of our visit is not booking a room at their inn. We spent a couple of hours here and immediately felt right at home. I hope to come back one day for the full inn experience.

I always opt to sit outside where I can basque in the mountain sunshine while taking in the scenery. There's always a cat or two traipsing about the establishment that offers entertainment to my pooch. (Yes, they're dog-friendly!) The food is absolutely divine with I believe most of the items being made in house & all ingredients are locally sourced with the freshest ingredients. Fortunately, we remembered passing a sign for Indigeny Reserve and saw on the map that it was within walking distance. Since it was already after 3pm and they closed at 5pm, we decided to drive over and make the most of our afternoon before they closed. When we walked in, the building was empty, but we were eager to try a cider tasting. Browsing the shop, we found a variety of merchandise--shirts, hats, sweaters, and an assortment of cheeses, crackers, chips, and other tasty treats. Eventually, a friendly staff member greeted us and offered the $10 tasting. Since closing time was approaching, she joked about giving us paper cups to avoid running the dishwasher. We didn't mind, but she kindly served the cider in glasses, which made the experience nicer. She also offered a whiskey tasting in a cool room lined with barrels and tables, plus gift boxes and other products. The whiskey tasting was just $2, with three varieties to sample. I'm not much of a whiskey fan, but I appreciated that she wasn't rushing us out. Both of us loved the Blackberry cider, so we each ordered a glass to enjoy outside. The outdoor area is expansive, with wooden benches, tables, and lawn chairs scattered across a grassy lawn overlooking a large vineyard. Only a few couples and families lingered--likely because of the early closing time. After relaxing with our ciders, we wandered down the trail to the lake. Along the way, we discovered old barns, a whimsical gnome area, and several upside-down boats tied up near the shore. If the boats hadn't been secured, we joked about taking one out for a row on the lake! We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Indigeny Reserve and, in retrospect, wished we had brought the teens along. Still, it made for a wonderful little date.
