Needed scans of a kidney stones, have had sepsis a few months ago.kidney pain, persistent fever on anibiotics waited over 2 hrs while not busy first, and took people after we arrived and walked and had makeup on.I hurt so bad, said I was next, I wasn't, then had ambulances, them waiting on beds. This hospital is a money grabbing operation. I've went to OSU with significantly less costs. They have doctors that work as "contractors" with a completely separate bill from the hospitals bill. I lost my baby at 9 weeks unfortunately. Broke my heart. I came in bleeding and almost blacked out in pain. They took are of me as soon as I told them what was going on. Miscarriages are sad.. this whole team I had there really went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable. My nurse Ben was amazing. My doctor..amazing! Everyone that I interacted with was amazing! I wish that I could give them ZERO stars. My mother in law was recently taken to Mt. Carmel after she suffered a cardiac arrest. Due to the reputation, we did request a different hospital. Because of the critical situation, EMS said they had to take her to the nearest hospital. Of course, they wanted insurance information in the emergency room, but the only information that we has was her Medicare information. Her husband was bringing her supplement information. Mind you -- she suffered a cardiac arrest. EMS had to shock her heart more than once and performed chest compressions the entire way to the hospital. She was ventilated and she was non-responsive. Less than 3 hours later, she was admitted to the ICU. She was ventilated and non-responsive. The billing department called her ICU room while the nurses were still setting up equipment and DEMANDED her insurance information. When her son explained the situation and that they would have the information shortly, the representative still demanded the information. Frankly, I was concerned whether she would receive the needed life-sustaining care because of delays in getting them the insurance information. Less than an hour later we did provide them the information. We then had to involve a supervising physician and nursing supervisor twice because of issues with an ICU charge nurse. Thank goodness, our family member did survive. Mt. Carmel set up follow up appointments with their own physician. We learned our lesson though and have set up an appointment with another provider and cancelled follow up with Mt. Carmel. We wish that we had transferred her to another hospital as soon as she was stable. The chaplains were wonderful and we had several great nurses. HOWEVER, the bad experiences outweigh the good. When you try to contact someone at their management level to address problems, you get voice mail and you then wait at least a day for a call back. They are NOT HELPFUL. read more

If you don't have a life threatening illness don't go to this ER. I was having chest pains around my heart. Arrived at 10:30 am. Took my blood pressure, vitals, ekg, X-ray all within an hour. Also spoke with a physician assistant about what was happening. He said the doctor will explain when they get all of the results back. Sat in the waiting room until 6 pm. No communication from the staff at all. Took another BP and blood around 4, not sure why. Nurse said to see if anything has changed. Never did see a doctor. Staff couldn't give me an eta on when I'd see a doctor. Said it could be another 8 hours. This hospital administration doesn't care about their patients. Very bad customer service. Absolute trash. Staff doesn't give a flying fuck about anyone but themselves, they purposely dick around in the hallways waiting on shift change just so they don't have to tend to patients. Staff openly joking and discussing patient drama/stories in front of us. Very careless "we don't want to be here nor really give a shit about you" attitude. We're here on my mother's behalf but personally if it were my case, I would rather die than be in their hands. read more

I am sad the whole hospital up and moved to Grove City. Now, it is a hike, but I am not about to change all my doctors there. Of course, it is great everything is so new and updated. However, the spread of the medical buildings and main hospital is confusing, and often I have parked one place then told - oops, you want to be at the Ortho One building. It looked close enough to to walk, and the lady had said, "It's right over there" Um..I walked but got to steep, massive ditch all the way east to west. - it was just not possible to cross. Plus, hello, I was going there for physical therapy! After all that, I had to hike back to my car- and in the end- late for the appt. Again, everything is new and nice, but the distance now and the confusion on what is where, building numbers not very large, and it all leaves me a bit disappointed. read more

Been here for over an hour with an asthma attack. I've been wheezing, whistling and coughing as I gasp the entire time. Yet, all I've seen was the person who gets you registered. Whom was very nice. I was the victim of a hit and run accident in October 2017 and the evening of, started experiencing crippling back spasms. I never go to the doctor for anything, let alone the ER (I think I may have been once in my life when I was 14.... I'm 28.) I was checked in very quickly and have zero complaints about the staff who worked with me. What I didn't appreciate was one of the female staff standing outside my paper thin wall making fun of me. I was in room 3, and someone said something about room 3 experiencing back pain, and I hear a female voice mockingly caw, "really? I have back pain, Can I get a bed?" followed by a round of laughter. They saved my husband's life on January 7, 2021. He had a heart attack and shortly after getting to the emergency room when he was awaiting cardiac catheterization he went into cardiac arrest. They immediately did what was necessary and brought him back. My husband, our family and myself are more than grateful for everything that they did. God definitely was watching over him . His doctor Dr. Buschur as well as the staff and people at the cardiac rehabilitation center are awesome! Keep up the outstanding work! read more

I just have to say Wow! I had my baby at Mount Carmel and I have never been surrounded by or taken care of by such an amazing staff. They literally went above and beyond. I went in there hoping to deliver my baby vaginally but ended up having a C Section after being explained all the risks of trying vaginally after having so many C Sections prior. My husband and I decided it was best to have a C Section. I've never been more at peace with that decision as I was at this hospital. The nurses and doctors I had were nothing short of amazing and the funny thing is I miss it there! That just goes to show how awesome our stay was. Normally I'm not a huge fan of hospitals but this one...I loved! I wish I could remember all the names of the staff that I had the pleasure of coming in contact with but I do know from the moment I went in, everyone was super sweet and you could tell they really cared. Don't think twice about going to this hospital because you won't be disappointed. read more

My friend had to go into the ER for concerning symptoms. I was worried they weren't going to allow me in to see him (he was all alone) due to COVID. The EDT asked the RN and they said it was fine to let me go back. Didn't do a COVID screening or anything, just saw how worried I was and let me back to see him. Nurses were quick and very kind when explaining things they were doing or explaining how the medicine worked. The doctor was very nice too. They were very quick with the MRI as well. It was an extremely clean, well run, well spaced, ER. Every time I've had to go there for someone, it has always been this way. If I had to go to the ER for myself it would be my first choice. read more

I have been here twice. First time I went to emergency room. They got me back fast but when I was seen the doctor asked me if I had insurances and at time had lost mine due to new job so I told her no she said well she didnt see any reason in helping me if I dont have a family doctor and a means to see one. But that she assumed i pulled a mussel in my back and then had nurse bring my paper in with no help. I went to another hospital and they did exray and said I had ammonia. Second time I went there I was told sprang my ankle. I knew that was not true. And went to other hospital and was told I had norrothipy. Such a big difference and made much more sense seeing it had affected me for 2 months and clear up my leg from my foot and sometimes my other foot. read more

My reason for a low review is my husband went in and woman doctor said " You have lung cancer, and while it is not curable, it is treatable". He had 7 radiation treatments, but in 3 weeks he died. If he had known he was dying, there is no way he would have wasted his last days getting radiation treatments. Even when he was on the DNR list, they continued to take scans and draw blood. read more

Took my disabled daughter there for pain they diagnosed her wrong which everyone could see. My daughter has HS along with psoriasis they gave her a diagnosis of a yeast infection gave her medication for a yeast infection and a topical. My daughter need an anabiotic which I said my daughter does have disabilities my daughter does not wanna go to another ER her home physician because she went to the hospital wouldn't come out here to give her an anabiotic. So now my daughter has to go until we get a new Home physician. Just to get an anabiotic. Now I feel I will not take my worst enemy there for any health problems.... done with Mount Carmel Hospital for good. read more

Had an mri done the evening of 1-22-20 and my nurse was literally amazing and made the entire process a breeze!

Went to the emergency room with severe dehydration and sat there for 4 hours without ever having more than vitals done. There were no updates from the staff the entire team, no urgency shown from anybody there, and many people walked out for the same reason. I don't know how the rest of the hospital is, but would not recommend this ER. read more

My nurse came in several times over the course of the day and said "did the doctor explain everything," I told her that no doctor has been here. She apologized to me as I was leaving that she wished "for better treatment of patients." She was a caring and considerate person. The follow up appointment was supposed to be at MetroWest Internal, with a Dr. Sagar Gandhi. His discharge paperwork told me that I need to exercise and lose weight and keep my blood pressure down and keep my blood sugar down. I am 5'5. I weigh a 115 pounds (when I don't have 4 bags of fluids in me). My blood pressure was normal to low (110/85 to 95/65). My blood sugar went from 66 to 77 to 95 to 105 to 187 to 227 and up (it's called diabetes). I was extremely sick for 17 hours before I went to the hospital, to be told "I am diabetic." No special tests, just blood work! Since when does a nurse do the discharge? I had no instructions for what was wrong with me. Dr. Kirsten Duffy, nor Dr. Sagar Gandhi visited to explain discharge but did recommend that I do a follow up and MetroWest Internal...their place of business. Right. read more
